    Back button focus or lens button focus is a huge help for shooting through the cage or ring ropes. I’ll grab focus at start of round then either turn off AF or hold focus button. Cuts down on hunting and breathing.

    Great video as usual awesome to see you filming MMA. I film a lot of BJJ/grappling. From the side lines I use a 24-70mm 2.8 Sigma which is great & even at a multi mat competition long enough. But when on the mats with the competitors I struggle with the footage for Instagram reels. You want that up close footage because it lets the viewer feel like thay are there. But once you convert the footage to portait for instagram it's easy to be too close at the wrong time. It's exacerbated when players are on the ground because they are horizontal. I think I need to go back to a wide prime lense in those situations. Totally agree about getting those b roll reaction shots, close equiment shots. So easy to forget them & they are so important.

    Nice Job! What is the best WB Settings in indoor Sports?

    • @petersarellas
      @petersarellas  Před 6 měsíci +1

      WB indoors varies based on location and the best way to be consistent with it is to use a grey card, or if you don’t have one then at the very least point your camera at a white wall gauge wb like that

    I like shooting 60 frames that way it looks natural and I can slow down anything I need

      Yeah 60fps definitely looks solid in this setting!

    Why does my footage come out grainy when I’m at 1250 iso, 4k 120 fps 1.5 crop sensor 250 shutter speed? I’m on the A6700 please help.

    • @petersarellas
      @petersarellas  Před 6 měsíci +1

      More likely than anything else this depends on the lack of lighting in your environment. If it’s too dark and your footage isn’t exposed properly then regardless of your ISO the footage will come out noisy. I’d recommend either adding additional light to your scene if possible or dropping to 60fps and slowing your shutter accordingly
