Satchel Casalini I did, for over 10 years and multiple products. Now I've purchased this to give it a go...I would say that's giving a company a chance.
I think you'll like it. It provides 90% of the AR fun - plus shooting it is super enjoyable because the ammo is a fraction of the cost while still keeping the familiar ergonomics of your Colt (impressive, btw).
I've gotten at minimum 15,000 rounds through my 15-22. That's 15,000 not 1,500. That's minimum too. I'm pretty sure its more, but I want to be more conservative with my estimation. my friend has his 10-22 kitted out to look like a hk g36. I won't deny it looks sick. What's funny though is when I'm plowing through mag after mag he's over there trying to figure out why his is not functioning properly. When his works it works well, but mine always works. it's easy to go through a brick (500 rounds) or two every weekend we go shoot. I won't trust anyone hating on these guns. It's the best budget plinker out there.
cool video, i thought the same once. it was either a 10-22 or no 22. until ..... i shot a friends 15-22 and then i had to have one . i still love the ruger . but the smith has made me a believer . i shot 2 bricks thru mine the day i got it and so far have about 3k rounds thru it in just a couple months time . ive had very few malfunctions . no more than a 10-22 for sure . AWESOME firearm for sure . fixin to get another as well
Just bought one for 400 and love it,have the regular sport 2 and they’re basically the same. I like the 22 because it’s so light and quiet. Would never want a 22 rifle for combat or like if there was invasion though
No point in doing a review if you don't fire the weapon. "Looks like an AR, lotta plastic"- got it, seen them on the shelf, handled them in the store. I wasted my time watching this.
Liberal Gun Owner comment was not a waste of time. Gotta say something. I like how you are not a fan of a perfectly reliable .22 auto, because it has overmoulded plastic to look like an m4. Makes perfect sense.
i own both the 15-22 and 10-22 personally i do prefer the 15-22 over the 10-22 however i do like the 10-22 and would not part form it what lets the 10-22 down in my opinion is the bx25 mags are not that good i have had many issues with the mags they will only feed cci mini mags reliable and rounds with that shape bullet but i needed to file the mag lips to get them to feed them however if i am using cci standards or rounds with that shape bullet they will not feed at all jam after jam i kinda stick to the 10 round mags now cause they feed every think and never have any issues with the 10 round mags the 15-22 mags feed every single round i used and the rifle works well with sub sonic ammo two
Thanks for commenting. My experience is exactly the opposite. My 10/22 feed anything through the BX25 mags; whereas my 15-22 is less reliable. I totally agree on the 10 round factory 10/22 mags...those things are probably the most reliable mag i've ever owned.
uk spartan 2, the 15-22 our of the box is a superior weapon to the 10-22 in multiple ways. Since the rifle is based on a true AR platform, there are lots of options if you want to upgrade, e.g. grip, butt stock, BADD Lever, trigger, spring kits, any Magpul Maglock attachments, safety switch ejector button, etc. It’s very easy to clean, and break down, can be broken down into two pieces to carry in a back pack, etc. Whereas the 10-22 does not allow an easy upgrade of trigger nor a good selection, it’s difficult to breakdown to clean as compared to the 15-22 and you can only take it to a certain point to clean because of the design. Sure there are lots of upgrades to change the form factor, but the internals will remain the same. I just feel the 15-22 is a superior out of the box file hands down!
Thanks. So far I've had fun with this one. Good thing 22lr is cheap and plentiful again, because I'm burning through ammo. You'll have fun doing the same :)
Nathan Tuckfield I know a bunch of liberal gun nuts. most of us won't vote conservative because we believe in the 1st amendment protecting us from state sponsored religion, as well as wanting the government to leave women and lgbt people alone. and republicans keep trying to appease their rich donor friends throwing us little folk under the bus. I'd vote conservative if it were the 80s, but it's not. I also don't believe the nra fear mongering designed to get us to buy more guns, though I wish California would ease up on the crap like 10 day waiting and only one pistol a month shit. article 1 section 8, provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States. our country is suppose to take care of us, not let our brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, mothers, fathers, and friends die from curable illness. btw, the founding fathers were quite liberal. educated, philosophers, wanted to ensure progression through science, yet outside the constraints of religion, and tried to ensue basic rights like our privacy from our government... quite liberal indeed, especially for the time.
So you're saying this guns lower isn't in spec with the 5.56 AR's? If that's the case, I don't see the point. Just buy a CMMG 22LR conversion bcg. In any case, don't judge S&W on their SD/Sigma line, ALL that is S&W rocks, I'm a big fan of what they're putting out.
You should look into the M&P 15 Sport 2. I heard it's a great AR. If this gun does you right I'd love to see your thoughts on it. Pretty good price on them too.
Thanks for viewing and commenting. I recently spent some time with an M&P 15 Sport 2 (5 minutes and about 60 rounds). It worked perfectly and seemed to be well assembled. Aside from my lack of faith in S&W, the only thing that really eats me about them (and why I wouldn't own one...and this is a trivial complaint) is the laser branding they have on the right side of the receiver. I never have liked it when companies take up real estate with branding. It cuts down on customer options. What if someone wanted to have their own etching in that area? Say a law enforcement officer celebrating their retirement. If I happen to catch the guy with his M&P15 at the range I will try to do an on-spot review. S&W is always welcome to send me one, but until then i'll just have to wait out another chance encounter at the range.
I love mine...the 223 would be a major upgrade..BUT...a bullet hole is a bullet hole...i know a .22 round will penetrate 1/2" pine from 400 yards...so if you want a damn good AR for dirt cheap...this the ONLY way to go!!
seen several videos of this rifle not shooting federal auto match ammo. have you tried it yet? They said they didnt clean their rifles in some videos i dont know if that was the problem
Having owned this for long enough I can share my experience regarding ammo compatibility. Thus far the ammo, at least for my specific gun, that has given the worst performance is the CCI AR Tactical. Ironic in that this is ammunition supposedly made for this specific gun. That said, it's rare that it makes it through an entire mag without an FTE or failure to feed regardless of the ammunition, and i've tried just about all the common rounds. I have multiple mags, all factory mags, and two of the magazines are so finicky that I can't load beyond 15 rounds without constant issue. The others are all on par with one another and work about as well as most of the aftermarket high capacity mags for a Ruger 10/22. By this I mean they are fun and work marginally well, but will have issues here and there. Regarding cleaning. When I followed all the suggestions i've seen on CZcams where many say to very lightly lubricate the bolt assembly I had more failures. Obviously, being that a 22 gets nasty by its very nature, there is a line between not enough and too much, but I find (at least on mine) that slightly more lubricant than many videos say seems to work better for me. I've only tried three lubricants (that I can remember), so it is possible i'm not using something that works well for others. I hope this info helps out.
You know I have an m&p 1522 now according to the gun control people this might be a 22 but they considered to be a AR-15 that happened adjustable stock a pistol grip a detachable magazine in a semi-automatic flip up sights so that makes it a AR-15 it might be a 22 caliber for the 22 this is dangerous as any other cartridge you know people kill me when they put down the 22 a 22 is a very dangerous round to get shot with my cousin was killed with 22 a 22 can hit a human body and it won't exit stays inside and tears up vital organs
hey man I recently got the .22LR M and P. I was wondering what sight would be good for it? Is an ACOG too magnified for a .22lr to shoot that far? Should i stick to something like a aimpoint micro reddot or an eotech holo sight?
HW Central I live in Thailand so the only AR platforms we are allowed has to be in .22. The governement is really afraid of civilians with military/law enforcement caliber rounds. Due to the fact that this is this .22 Ar15 will be the best thing as closest thing i have to what you boys got in the states, i don't mind investing in her.
I would go with a less expensive solution as it's a 22, but they will all work just fine. The acog may present an issue with short range mag dumps because of the magnification, but would probably work fine for all other shooting. Good luck on picking the best one.

Just Stan Yes. I purchased one about a month ago. It's lightweight, and hardly any recoil. It's a good training rifle for an actual AR 15! Plus it's pretty cheap. It's costs around $400.
I bought many years ago an S&W AR 15 sport 223/556. I bought a CMMG .22RD converson kit at the same time. The conversion kit has worked flawlessly to this day. Having the ability to switch from 223/556 in under 30sec's makes my AR 15 extremely versatile. If I were to do it over, I'd do it again. That conversion kit has paid for itself time and time again. You won't be disappointed, and have more fun too. No change w/accuracy. That's my 2 cents.
For starters, a lot of people own these as training rifles or buy them to start their kids off. They are great rifles! Secondly, you're judging S&W as a garbage manufacturer just because you had 1 shitty pistol. What'd ya pay $300 for it? You're entitled to your opinion but no thanks, I'll keep my M&P 9 and 15-22lr. They do just fine 👍
It's so funny... I'm liberal on a lot of things and conservative on others. I'd consider myself a liberal gun owner as well. Here you have a review video and people attacking you because you use the word liberal haha. I will definitely be following your channel.
coolsoon Thanks for watching and commenting. You would be shocked if you saw the comments that have been flagged and removed due to abusive and threatening language. To me, liberal means you accept other peoples' lifestyles as long as they are not harming anyone else. I don't know why that is associated with being some sort of passive aggressive unmasculine pussy.
The first version had issues, the second version is good to go , the second version has the flash suppressor and blue spring inside when you break it down.
Surfer2315 - Listen dude, i hate the privileged, snob sjw libtards. Im a conservative and i give this dude props to supporting our 2nd ammendment right. Not all liberals are fucked
Everything Outdoors I do. I still think the Ruger 10/22 is the better gun overall. I have discovered that my 15-22 requires more lubricant than most of the videos I've seen suggest. I was having lots of FTEs, but they have been greatly reduced since I started adding more CLP to the works. Other than the FTEs it works great. It's easily as accurate as the 10/22, and seems to be solidly built. I'm glad I bought it. Thanks for commenting.
So you got such a great deal, yet you hate smith and wesson.... hmmm. U dont like it, sell it! Problem solved. You obvioysly dont know much about s&w because i own several and they are NOT crap guns. Jeez dude. Did this video help u fell better? U got a great deal on the it, but u gotta go to youtube and talk shit about a very succsessfull american made firearm company??
Title should be "i don't really know why just hate S&W and probably this gun too"
Give the company a chance dang dude.
Satchel Casalini I did, for over 10 years and multiple products. Now I've purchased this to give it a go...I would say that's giving a company a chance.
M&Ps are firearms of the champs
If this rifle is built anything like the 5.56 version it probably going to be one of if not the best 22lr rifle on the market...
For those interested in switching the grip there are two springs inside the grip.
Actually they are based on the real ar 15. You can put almost everypart from an ar on this gun. O_o
the coolest 22/lr i have seen !! just like my colt AR/15 iam going to get one
I think you'll like it. It provides 90% of the AR fun - plus shooting it is super enjoyable because the ammo is a fraction of the cost while still keeping the familiar ergonomics of your Colt (impressive, btw).
works just like my AR/15 great gun
Agreed. They did a great job making the function true to the AR platform. Thanks for commenting.

I'm curious what you opinion is of the 15-22 two years later? I've read about recent issues and a recall. Would you consider doing an updated review?
I own one of these and I love it!
Great news. How many rounds do you have through yours?
Me too awesome fun!
Just bought one for 400 and love it,have the regular sport 2 and they’re basically the same. I like the 22 because it’s so light and quiet. Would never want a 22 rifle for combat or like if there was invasion though
Yeah I understand your point but a 22 will kill you all you need to get hit anywhere center mass and you through
No point in doing a review if you don't fire the weapon. "Looks like an AR, lotta plastic"- got it, seen them on the shelf, handled them in the store. I wasted my time watching this.
Bryan Heimann but that didn’t stop you from wasting more leaving a comment 👍 Great time management. Thanks for sharing.

Awesome ,fun to plink cans an target challenge
I'm a 10/22 to the bone guy. But the mp 15-22 is a sweet fun gun. My wife bought her 1 and I shot it, had to get me one
Thanks for the vid man! Getting one for this upcoming Christmas and I'm so excited!
Thanks. So far I've had fun with this one. Good thing 22lr is cheap and plentiful again, because I'm burning through ammo. You'll have fun doing the same :)
Liberal Gun Owner you have to be the best liberal I've ever seen
Nathan Tuckfield Thanks. There are millions of us. We aren't typically visible, but there are many others just like me.

LOL you had smith because you bought the cheapest gun they sell and it didn't work?
Salient Arms buying a company's lowest priced weapon doesn't mean the weapon shouldn't perform well.
@@focused313 it DOES mean it is the cheapest made thing they sell though......the new M&P guns imo are the best semi autos you could possibly get.

Remington ammo - failure to eject every 5-6 rounds.

Congrats. Stock up on 22lr, because you'll burn through lots and lots. Thanks for watching and commenting.
What was wrong with your SD9?
Literally the only person on the planet to dislike this rifle! #troll-much
Put some rounds in that awesome rimfire beauty!
Sweet kit mate. ATB Andy. Hope too have one soon, maybe?????. ATB Andy
You don't like s&w m&p 15 because of the white paint. That'll effect the reliability and functionality for sure.
. Lost me at, "factory high capacity mag".
Great video !
Better than my ak47
seen several videos of this rifle not shooting federal auto match ammo. have you tried it yet? They said they didnt clean their rifles in some videos i dont know if that was the problem

One reason and one reason this is way cheaper than subsonic ammo when running a suppressor.
If you don't like these guns why the fuck do a video on them?
ConceitedCynic To annoy you.
I have to say you really didn't give good reasons why you didn't like Smith & Wesson you had a bad experience with one gun and that's all it took?
I really don't care if u like Smith and wesson or not
FaZe Monkey22 Thanks for commenting.
I had to send my 15 22 in for service bullet blew up in my receiver
Jin Heu ouch. Was it the newer model? I hope you weren't injured.
Jin Heu why are you spamming all 15-22 vids with this comment?
Jin Heu what ammo were you shooting
I was just watching a video and they said sometimes the bolt will get dirty and the ejector doesn't allow it to go back into full battery.
Liberal Gun Owner Thank you sir, do you have any brands you would like to recommend me?
I use a cheap NcStar on mine. I've seen others have success with low cost SightMark reflex sights. The only real requirement is that it turns on, and that it holds zero (which typically isn't a problem on a 22). Let me know what you end up selecting and how it works out. Good luck!
Liberal Gun Owner I just checked out the price of an EoTech XPS2 and almost shit myself. Jesus man, I decided to go with a CBT series NCstar (If i want a magnified sigh) If not, I would like a duo targeting reflex sight made by NCstar. Cheers.
What do you think of these gun control proposals they're doing you might not be able to keep them unless you pay for the $200 tax stamp under the NFA
Haven’t heard of that. I’ll look into it.
Why bought it then?lmao
I have been thinking about getting one! Should I get one?? Please help for feed back!!
I know a lot of left leaning people who are gun owners, mostly from the military. I don’t get why you’re getting so much flak. Good video, man.
They do just fine 👍
do you live in California? and does the 25 mag come with all of them ?
Sal Aguilar No, I do not live in California. I believe there is also a 10rnd version sold in certain states.
does anyone know if you would be able to put a 223 upper on one of these?
Damian Chavez No. There is no recoil system in the lower, and the magazine area and release wouldn't allow for the larger mag and rounds.
It's so funny... I'm liberal on a lot of things and conservative on others. I'd consider myself a liberal gun owner as well. Here you have a review video and people attacking you because you use the word liberal haha. I will definitely be following your channel.

coolsoon true Liberals want no one to own firearms
That's what liberal sheeple do.....they follow blindly ...its kind of mandatory.
HA! Love the name...I am also a liberal gun owner!
To me, liberal means you accept other peoples' lifestyles as long as they are not harming anyone else. I don't know why that is associated with being some sort of passive aggressive unmasculine pussy.
This guys voice makes me think his wrists are wider than his biceps. It’s hard for me to take anything this guys says seriously.
Terrible, terrible review. Reviewer clearly didn't know what he was talking about. Sad!
I love myne, never will givr myne up
That's a waste of six minutes
I would like to buy one, but my socialist state wont allow these evil rifles. Thanks for the rather different way of presenting a review. Enjoyed it.
Thanks for watching and commenting.
I've heard there's a lot of issues with this rifle
Jin Heu not at all
Umm don’t know what you are talking about I have one and have shot 2500 round through it and nothing wrong
The first version had issues, the second version is good to go , the second version has the flash suppressor and blue spring inside when you break it down.
Bru you have no idea what your talking about
Every manufacturer has a bad gun. Even glock. You seem like a bitter person. Hope everything is going ok.
😂 passive aggressive much?
@@liberalgun so you are alright?
The ruger 10/22 sucks. A marlin 60 is way more accurate and more reliable!
For $350 , you can't complain. If you want quality worry- free operation for years buy guns over $1200. Otherwise, be prepared for problems.
Classic Liberal?
Nate Johnson Modern, but I am impressed by your reference.
Libreal and hate Smith and Wesson? Dislike deserved.

"I tried the S&W cheapest model gun they make, and now I dont like them at all" ......nice reasonin
Your review sucks,,just my opinion,,
Smith&Wesson is a Awesome,
Very misinformed video
Liberal gun owner? Someone is confused....
no such thing as a Liberal gun owner.
Everything Outdoors I exist, therefore I disagree with your statement.
ok fine good review btw do you like the gun so far?
Everything Outdoors I do. I still think the Ruger 10/22 is the better gun overall. I have discovered that my 15-22 requires more lubricant than most of the videos I've seen suggest. I was having lots of FTEs, but they have been greatly reduced since I started adding more CLP to the works. Other than the FTEs it works great. It's easily as accurate as the 10/22, and seems to be solidly built. I'm glad I bought it. Thanks for commenting.
yeah I have both but I'm more of a tactical guy so I'm biased toward the S&W over the ruger
Everything Outdoors I agree. The ergonomics of the 15-22 are far better out of the box.
Liberal gun owner? Wtf😂
Smith & Wesson has fucking terrible customer service. Just terrible.
