Everyone talks about the dope acting which is evident, but Antoine Fuqua never gets his just due for the directingâŠhe did a tremendous job on this film. Period.

you are absolutely right
Well said.
Legend has it that King Kong was hurt by Denzelâs words.
Denzel invented swag with his role.
Denzell is the greatest actor. All his movies are great
I agree he's the GOAT
I 100% agree with the first part.
yes. I think there's no doubt about that-his face is like a sidewalk of the self-you can walk with it but never really be it

Why was this "Behind the scenes" feature so wholesome? They all genuinely admired each other.
first thing they do in most quality movies is match and hire people with compatible chemistries, thats the whole point of auditions
One of the best movies ever. Denzel certainly deserved the Academy Award, but Ethan Hawke's tremendous performance is often overlooked. A masterclass in powerhouse performances.
Entire cast and crew were spectacular. Scott Glenn, Terry Crews, Snoop, Macy... the whole bloody lot. Exemplary storytelling.
They all did such an amazing job...
Yeah Ethan was the real revelation of this movie, Denzel was expected to perform well, another great actor is Cliff Curtis, that played Smiley, he's not even latino, he's Indian (I guess) but does many different characters in movies. Imo, Dre and Snoop really suck at acting lol, but ofc they were great to see in a gangsta movie.

Probably why Denzel got the Oscar, heâs in denial that his character is the villain of Training Day
You hit the nail on the head
Omg this is so true
No more ink needs to be spilled about how great Denzel is in this movie, he was phenomenal. But the more I watch, the more I see how underrated Ethan Hawke was. He was the perfect understated foil to Denzel's big performance and lets Denzel shine. Scott Glenn was also great in his bit part.
Denzel praised Ethan Hawks during his Academy Award acceptance speech as the perfect supporting actor
Absolutely! I remember pulling for Ethan to win the Oscar. He definitely held his own with âthe masterâ (Denzel)!!

Denzel is the greatest actor of last 40 yrs, and its not even close. F-cking OG legend.
Bullshit, Daniel Day-Lewis is, your opinion is probably based solely on this movie alone. Denzel won the best acting Oscar for this film and rightly so, Day-Lewis has three for films you probably haven't even seen Opinions don't make the greatest actors, nor do awards, it's the roles and characters you choose and how you portray them, it's also down to the director to get the best out of an actor, whether with direction or creative license to express and improvise. Denzel has over 50 films to his name, Day-Lewis has 21.
Denzel is certainly one of the greatest, but he's not in the same league as Day-Lewis
Denzel Washington is one of the best actors to ever do it! Absolutely nothing this man canât do!
legends arent random, they come from hard work and discipline, mr washington has both
The most interesting thing about this movie is two things. The first is that we are instantly introduced to the hero and the villain who actually are always around each other majority of the film. The second is that it all takes place in one day. Amazing movie.
@@DonaldDonald-gv7ys Oh, I understand what you mean now. Welp, I sure feel like an idiot, lol. I'm going to delete my old comment now.

Eminem agreed but under those conditions I named above and Neil tried to get it done but it just wasn't possible that way. Lol that ended up being the scifi film starring Matt Damon Elysium. Eminem was also offered the lead role in that boxing movie starring Jake Gilynhall but he turned it down also because he just wants to make music. He didn't want to leave everyone hanging though so he agreed to be a part of the film a bit with the soundtrack. Crazy though that after he won awards for 8 mile he was apparently offered lead roles in tons of films the public doesn't even know about and he could have been a movie star if he wanted. In business also he always trys to help Detroit. He was an early investor apparently in the Detroit based company stock x that blew the f up now.
