Or you could interview people in the community to know how well these interface behaves. I heard about issues with Scarlet for example. I am also curious about using the mobile as a Midi controller

I am actually using one of the interfaces in the list and it will be interesting to hear your experience anyway.
It is Steinberg UR22 MK2. It works well with Pipewire and not good with PulseAudio. I am not doing any Pro Audio anymore, but I was using it with Jack and it also worked well. If you can call working with Jack at general well too, lol.

Thanks for mentioning that! I'm aiming for 2x2 interfaces since that's a basic minimum that most people seem to need for starters. Unless you record entire bands or drumkits that's usually enough.

How about the Motu M2 or M4? I have that interface, it works fine. (as an headphone amp and als xlr mic input)
But I don't know about the "low latency custom usb driver" stuff they advertise for Windows.
I Linux review of somebody who actually kows about the stuff he is testing would be great.

*The Linux Audio Interface Testing Survey has ENDED!*
*The device scores are as follows (Yes counted as 2 points, Maybe as 1 point and No as 0 points):*
    201 | Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 3rd Gen
    188 | PreSonus Studio 24c
    187 | Steinberg UR22 MK2
    181 | Behringer UMC202HD
    174 | Steinberg UR22C
    163 | Focusrite Scarlett Solo 3rd Gen
    147 | Solid State Logic SSL 2
    141 | NI Komplete Audio 2
    136 | Behringer Xenyx Q502USB
    120 | Swissonic UA-2x2
    120 | Behringer UM2
    108 | ESI MAYA44 eX
    84 | TC-Helicon Go XLR MINI
Because the margin between Steinberg UR22 MK2 and UR22C was minimal, I've decided to go for the latter instead, as it's a more recent device.
The budget has allowed me to purchase 3 devices. Since I own a Behringer UMC202HD already, I've ordered 2i2 3rd gen, Studio 24c and UR22C. I'll be testing these four together.
Thanks to all who've submitted their input. The polll has gathered 272 answers. I am sure this survey will allow us to maximize the utility of my work for the Linux noisemaking community. Stay tuned!

    I just use a zoom h6 with the xy mic {best zoom mic} I got it back when it came with 2 mics and a case sadly the new black one dos not, 4 jacks 5 if I count the line in on xy mic honestly the h5 would have been prabably better in price and if I got it now I would go for the h5 sadly most hardware synths are soy toys though just laim so I end up sampling and returning once I have kept {Korg Volca Drum Digital and arturia microfreak} I have a korg nts-1 but calf monosynth or zynaddsub with impulse reverb and other is better I did not know linux audio stuff was that good I think most hardware synths are just scams in comparison money down the toilet {also the zoom h5 and h6 use some patented format exfat I think it now out of pattent and there is a github fix for it that you need to add to most linux systems}
