He was always trying to do the right thing even then, even though he wasn't an arc trooper then, and was one of the characters going against general krells orders before his betrayal was discovered, and knew the consequences of disobedience. He was one of the casualties. And beyond that, even if we don't KNOW these clones, we do know them. We've seen them fight for what they were told is right since season one, with the 501st especially always being shown as good soldiers and good people. To see members of the 501st killed in such a way, after they had volunteered and gone the extra mile to show they supported Ahsoka, is heartbreaking.

Both films would have had much better word of mouth and probably would’ve made Infinity War or Endgame levels of money, But because of their incompetence, they didn’t even make more money than Transformers 3 🤣 (Also I apologize for dragging Dark Of The Moon into this, at least its fun and isn’t trying to be anything other than a mindless action film, in fact it’s actually my favorite Transformers movie, Last Jedi and Rise Of Skywalker Are awful, ungodly boring, and their writing choices actively piss me off)

Ashoka is very similar to Qui-Gon in that she is not on good terms with the Jedi, and yet she represents what is inherently the best qualities of Jedi, without the flaws that had plagued the Order itself. I remember thinking like, in the clone wars after most battles it ends on a higher note, with much more upbeat music, like they accomplished something. And even seeing Anakin and Ahsoka smiling at each other before they part ways, frowning for a moment before keeping up their smirk, it's like they're trying to keep up their usual debacle, despite the fact they both feel the dread of something bad about to happen. And as they're bringing Maul into the ship in the thing, you'd think they'd be more upbeat about nearly finishing the war.
But like Ahsoka can't be happy about the accomplishments because of the existential dread. She can't even pretend. And the music is just eerie, it gives off the vibes Ahsoka is feeling. The way that was set up I just think is so absolutely amazing and it works so well. I could actually feel the tension and the dread. Especially like with how you could see Maul felt it too. Ahsoka and Maul were both in the same boat at that point.

One thing that absolutely broke my heart was how excited Anakin clearly was to have Ahsoka back and how many surprises he had laid out for her and one, how she almost dismissed him because she wasn’t entirely ready to be in good graces yet, and two, how he and the clones put so much effort into painting themselves like their former commander, only for them to turn on her in the end. All of them. I absolutely adore Anakin. Clone wars and prequels. Seeing him basically get shot down when he was clearly SO excited to see his adopted little sister again just absolutely destroyed me

That shot of the clones graves marked by their helmets is the most tragic, heartbreaking, and moving moment in Star Wars history to me and perfectly encapsulates the value of the series and what it brings to the franchise. You can understand and dread the impact of Order 66 on the Jedi by watching the movies but when you spend 7 seasons with the clones, watching them fight, grow, give their lives and leave an impression on us to the point you feel bad for the background fodder, it completely recontextualises the evil of Order 66.
These men, so loyal and devout to change their armour, one of the very few things personal to them in an army of literal clones, out of respect and to pay homage to the commander who went through so much with them being turned so completely as to spitefully give their lives just to take Asoka’s is heartbreaking in the strongest way possible. The Clone Wars makes you feel the betrayal not just to the Jedi but to the clones who forged bonds that were broken and betrayed against their will.
I will never forget this ending.

That finale was powerful. The music made it eerie and surreal, and the entire world Asokha and Rex lived in was shattered. Honestly, after watching the first six seasons, it kind of felt a bit repetitive. But this final arc of the Clone Wars has completely blown me away. All these characters we’ve gotten to know are just broken. When they’re on the ship and the order is executed, you hear the screams of Padme, Anakin, Obi-Wan, and it’s just one of the most powerful scenes I’ve ever seen, especially because of the music.

I love the clone troopers so much, I absolutely loved the arc with Fives finding out about their chips and trying to save all of them, which was so tragic cause we all knew he'd never succeed. What ultimately saved Rex was that he was able to resist order 66 for long enough to be saved BECAUSE Fives warned him. They were just clones but they fought for eachother and had such unique personalities and so much heart. Ironically clones that were born to be expendable in war, hit harder than storm troopers that are just everyday people fighting for the empire. Impeccable storytelling on their part, I'll always love Clone Wars. I'll never forget those final episodes of season 7.

The reason that the Bad Batch and Ahsoka's Walkabout arcs didn't feel like they belonged in the final season is because they were originally never intended for the final season.
Ahsoka's Walkabout would have been in late season six (likely the finale), while The Bad Batch was going to be season seven's premiere. I definitely think there are better cancelled arcs they could have chosen for season 7, but at the end of the day, I'm not complaining because I'm really, really glad Disney revived this series at all. And to have possibly had one of the episodes ending on a cliff hanger where Anakin believes that Ahsoka had died, making himself emotionally crippled to the influence of Palps.

The Arc as a whole is without lying...just awful. But the 3rd Episode with Gregor is for me an 8/10. For me it drags that Arc from a 2 to a 4.
Also, The Martinez Arc if for me a 3 as a whole. It's generally just consistently boring with Trace and Rafa (aka Idiot and Karen) being insufferable.

I can't believe I actually found a review that speaks EVERY SINGLE THOUGHT I had in my mind about season seven. Bad Batch arc being nice but kinda weird with the whole Echo being hated and then accepted? Check. Episode 3 of the Martez Sisters arc being SO unnecessary? Check. Ahsoka at the Clones graves being the first STAR WARS thing to ever make me cry (for me is the first movie/tv related thing to ever do so)? Check. This might be my favorite review ever. You might be my soulmate 🥺 (Jokes aside, I'm subscribing right now)

I really feel like they missed something with Echo. I think it would be much more understandable for him leaving if we see him finding out that basically everyone he's fought with is dead or not with there anymore. A scene where Rex has to tell him about Fives would be up there with iconic emotional moments from the show, and it would motivate him to join the Bad Batch since the only thing keeping him with the 501st is Rex.

Is it just me, or does Maul just not even look like Maul in the Rebel’s animation style? Like he looks like a nonmenacing squeaky toy, compare that to the clone wars animation style, Maul actually looks like a badass.

I can't express this enough. If your a star wars fan, you must watch the siege of mandalor ark. It is a movie in it's own and is arguably the best story in all of star wars. It wraps up the show in a best way possible, leaving room for characters like Ahsoka and Rex to grow, like we know they do.

  • @FireMaster-or6lo
    @FireMaster-or6lo Před 3 lety +9

I think the problem with the first arc, is that it was never meant to be a centrepiece, it was never meant to have a beginning and an end, only a beginning, because that is what it was, a stepping stone, to introduce the bad batch so their series would make sense, and Anakin for revenge of the Sith.

In defense of hologram Maul looking for Ahsoka, I interpreted it as Maul sensing another presence across a long distance, which is established canon. It also helps to display how much of a potential threat Maul is, leading up to that incredible hallway scene (no, I won't spoil what happens in the hallway scene, go watch it yourself).
