Testing Out the Lowrance Tripleshot on Some Winter Panfish

- I'm a little behind on published videos so I'm starting in mid-December and working my way to the present. This was my first time out with my new Lowrance Hook2 5 Tripleshot fish finder unit after I finally fried my old Hook4 after rolling a couple times in the surf this fall.
For the first time using it, it helped me find new structure, better define existing structure and locate schools of panfish. For $300, this is definitely the nicest fish finder I've ever used and at a pretty great price point. I'm really looking forward to looking for striped bass/redfish/muskies on the flats in early spring when the water is just starting to warm.
Nice catches! When I upgraded my lowrance unit it made such a difference I couldn’t believe how advanced they’ve become. Definitely can be a game changer on the kayak.
Yea I was definitely really surprised how helpful the side scan was and how easy it is to use
Good day of fishing !! Nice perch like the fish finder very detailed.
nice to see you back
Nothing like a nice day on the water !!! Good stuff
I am pleased you are getting such good results and I wish my unit worked like yours. My experience with the Hook2 12TS is a complete nightmare. The machine shows noise and clutter, it will not find the bottom in 54 or more meters of water (in any mode). Lowrance here in Australia are are diabolical to deal with and terribly unhelpful. As I say, I'm glad you have had a good experience but I would not touch the Hook2 or Lowrance with a barge pole.
Dude you are a freaking beast. Let’s gooo
Lots of action out there on a cold day. A good haul of fish. What size is your screen 5"?
Some nice YP! Eatin' good in the neighborhood
YPs are aggressive, delicious and bite all winter long so I find myself chasing them more and more in the colder months
@@RomoKayakFishing me too!
Wish you focused on details of fish finder , pros and cons , than fishing taking up most of video.
At the beginning of your video, was it in side imaging scan? Just want to know if the unit have side imaging scan before I purchase one.
Bret Moua if it says combo(No) Tripleshot or Total scan then yes
Have you had any problems with that unit? Ive been looking at getting one but the reviews arent good.
I wanted to avoid upgrading the ff, but you're tempting me.
I waited for my old unit to die but I wish I had this thing last year
does it have a usb slot to install navionics charts?
Will the transducermount on trolling motor,,i have a 9 inch lowrance hook triple and the transducer is too long for trolling motor
Which st. Croix is that, the panfish? What length and action do you have?
Question, what’s the dark-line down the center of your fishfinder at the start of the video?
the dark line represents what is directly underneath the boat. The side scan looks out to both sides from there which is why you can see the creek bed on the left and right
Whats your smaller rod setup?
Might be a dumb question, but how come the crappies don’t survive being caught like this? Is it the depth? The temp? Keep up the nice work, btw, love your channel. Cheers
I actually don't know... but whenever we catch them in the winter we are fishing deep and they are pretty much dead by the time we bring them up. So I don't fish for them unless I plan on eating them.
I know this is a 4 year old question but it's due to the pressure change in depth suddenly. You can vent and save them by putting a small needle behind the pectoral fin to release pressure and they will recover.
What lure are you using here when you were catching crappie in the 40ft range?
How long is the Transducer?
never tried blade bait do you just jig it off the bottom??
Yea pretty much- they eat it on the fall so you just wanna lift and drop it and use light line and a sensitive rod so you can feel the bite
Romo Kayak Fishing what brand blade bait do you use?
Name and model of rod please...?
#GETSEAMONEYBACKONAYAK2019
did you see any clouds of jumbo perch? lol
Not that day!
There are no jumbo perch in PA, everyone eats them at six inches. Got to go to Canada for big perch.
can you video & show how to install, mount the fish finder?
Throws away perfect little eater perch...
If you didn't have all the bad language I would probably like it!
That looks like about the most boring form of fishing I've ever seen :/
*Thus unit has all of the features of the expensive units at a fraction>>>**allabout.wiki/h960** The unit has mapping, traditional sonar, downscan, and sidescan. The main page was really easy to navigate though all of the different sonar and map pages and you can have split screens for maps and the different sonars. For a 5 inch display it has a ton of features and I am really impressed. Compared to my older units the screen is really easy to read in the sun light. That makes seeing the fish a lot easier. Also having to mount only one transducer to get all of the sonar features was really nice.*
Love the high quality.
