The sound of this bike after the kit install is amazing. I like it, makes it worth all the work put into it
you arent lying, almost sounds like a different engine
that is to say the original exhaust note is absolutely horrid. lol
all you need is the exhaust system for sound you dont need a turbo kit
A person could just buy an R1 and make 70 more hp stock and have reliability plus a warranty and cooler electronics and better suspension... Or if you're happy with 112hp, then get a GSXR 750. To me, this whole idea makes no sense. He took a slow beginners motor level of performance bike and made it no longer a beginners bike. Sure, it's cool having a turbo on any bike, but my 2012 R1 makes 50 more wheel hp with just an exhaust, a tuned power commander 5, and a Euro flashed ECU(standard upgrades). My point being, if someone buys an R7 they are buying an MT07 that looks like a sportbike. Besides, most people that are willing to put a turbo on a bike would never even think of buying an R7. This entire project is counterintuitive.
@@Chrisnuzzo76I don't know the reasoning either. Sometimes people just love a particular bike. I used to ride big bore metric. Zx6 then rf900r, then fzr1000. Today I ride a sportster that has a hammer 1275 kit in it. I love the bike for commute, wanted more power. It is everything I desire for right now. I don't do 100+pulls anymore. Only digs and some curves, no long rides. To each their own
Brought tears to my ears....metaphorically: I had two Yamaha Seca 650 Turbos in the mid-1980's. LOVED those bikes and the grin- and white knuckles, when watching the Boost Meter creep up to "slingshot time".....when 12# of boost kicked in- and you were shot out of a cannon! All I know is that I did Seattle to Tempe, AZ in two days.
Great work, Looks like a really well thought out kit, the only thing I'd probably suggest is making some kind of deflection / protection shield around the turbo to protect the rear wheel, if that springs a leak or drops a line it's all over for the rider.
So like if the oil pan springs a leak & drops oil over the rear wheel ?😜seriously though.
We have been making this style of turbo kit for the MT09, MT07 & MT10 for 7 yrs now & have sold over 100 kits, & no one has dropped a line or sprung a leak so far. Also there is no pressure in that hose it's just a drain from the turbo, so Is it possible that it could leak ,sure, but is it likely, we don't think so.
@@extcreat It's a lot more likely for an oil feed line to have a major leak than an oil pan, also carries a ton more pressure. A belly pan will catch a leak from the sump, just an idea, no need to pull the " 7 years we know best line " . I was giving the kit praise, no need to get worked up. Keep up the good work it's an awesome product.
@@extcreat Have to agree with the above post, he praised the kit overall and made what he thought was a prudent suggestion... Put your dick away.
If you're having a bad day, stay off social media until you're in a better frame of mind to respond to the general public.
Man was giving solid suggestions and got ripped into 😂 oil leaks from the turbo are definitely more likely than an oil pan. An oil leak is unlikely BUT not impossible and it would be catastrophic if it happened so close to the tyre.
@@jamieg4435 I tried to keep it all positive but they lost me comparing a sump leak to an oil feed line under pressure. Some companies just lose the ability to take constructive criticism over time unfortunately. That one time that a feed line let's go as rare as it may be will be catastrophic and definitely not worth being stubborn over
Enjoyed watching you work, the editing, explanation and most important a pair of good hands! Keep up the good work!!
This might be the best camera work on any motorcycle video I’ve ever seen, bravo.
Just got a 2023 r7 and this is now on the list of things I want to do to the bike, but the thought of taking on a job of this scale on my own is daunting to say the least. I’ve done some basic work on my previous bikes, oil changes, rotor changes, etc, but nothing requiring the removal and reinstallation of fairings. Not sure what I’m going to do yet but I love that this is an option. Just need to do the fender eliminator first though, that’s definitely at the top of my list.
I subbed and am really hoping to see more R7 content!
If you want to change the oil, do light kits or anything really to a sport bike, you’re going to have to get comfortable removing the fairings. It’s not bad at all on the R7
Great video Ben. Awesome detail for someone looking to fit their own system. I've fitted a couple of turbo "kits" and none of them have fitted as well as this.
final dyno graph gave goosebumps. now there is a reason to buy this r7
True but the kit plus r7 price will dictate weather or not this is a better route that a 600cc
@@DatBoyKickz very true. despite the performance increase, still a no brainer for me to get a used 1000 or 750 over a CP2 R7. i never liked 2 cylinder or single cylinder bikes
@Lee Andrew true true id look at a 636 not sure I trust my self with a liter bike 😂😂😂
@@DatBoyKickz it's still in the same price range and makes more power
@@DatBoyKickz worth it or not for a learner wanting max power on a restricted licence this is certainly the way to not miss out on 600,1000cc power
This is awesome! I had thought about a similar setup and turbo location on my rc46 vfr800.
I've heard some talk about Suzuki having a turbocharged version of their new upcoming s8 parallel twin. I believe they have some patents for it. It is essentially this same setup and would replace the 1000cc vstrom options. More hp, more torque and easy to pass euro5 since the turbo is a muffler itself. I think it's the best of both worlds.
first time seeing your guys product. this is freaking cool!!! great job guys , keep it up i cant wait to see more !
Took a good amount of work and time, much appreciated man!
another great vid ben. would love to see even more about your products.
The sounds and power sounds insane
Man, I wish you guys did a kit for the bandit 1250. I know, I know, your customer base would be one person (me) cos every other bandit owner is 75 and more concerned with adding hard luggage than a turbo, but I'd be one very happy customer. Love what you do!
this is a very well engineered kit.. everything has been figured out for a straight bolt-on installation. i was hoping to see higher numbers (130whp = 150bhp), but can't complain with over double the power.. cheers!
While the turbo kit can produce more power the engine needs upgrades to go further , we have a video up now about that also
Thank you for answering every comments sir..
I'm subscribing
Hey keep crushing it Ben!! From ASF Weasel.
And people there is always room for turbos.
sick video bro watch the whole thing and its lookin and sounding dope af
The only video on CZcams of one in action is a guy in the U.K on a MT07, and he's babying it. Would really like to see footage of more aggressive riding
Awesome tutorial and power increase respect 👍
Pretty cool, fills the gap that yamaha took away when they discontinued the R6, this brings it back up to the R6’s power! nice
They’re launching the r9. R6 weight, 120hp and mt09 torque all day. It’s cool if you have one of these but if i had an r7 I’d try to keep it as nimble as possible as that’s it’s main strength and taking that away and adding weight, I feel like it’s moving towards the old 90s 750s performance wise
@@monkmoto1887 are they doing the r9 tho??
@@danejensen6064 Yamaha recently trademarked the terms "R9" and "YZF-R9", fair to say it's pretty certain.
@@monkmoto1887 bike will be plenty nimble and that turbo kit probably weights less than the stock exhaust system to no added weight
@@UR5TEPDAD1 no added weight? It probably added 50 pounds without exaggeration. GTFO you don’t know anything
I don't even own an r7.... Great step by step tutorial. With huge gains
Great work guys now I would actually consider buying the r7
😂😂😂
this is INSANE and gives me ideas for future plans
PROUD owner of a boosted 2017 FZ-10 here! Purchasing my turbo kit from you guys last year was easily the best purchase I made last year. Thanks so much for all that you guys do. I decided to install the kit myself and it honestly wasn't even all that bad. I'm not gonna lie, the instructions did miss a few steps that were to be implied but I received a very prompt response from Ben each time I sent an email asking for help. I'm keeping this bike until the wheels fall off 😅.
I do have a quick question though, would it be possible to fit the turbo kit for an FZ-10 onto a 15-19 R1? I think they share the same chassis and engine (for the most part). I think their airboxes are different so I think that would a change I could see needing to be dealt with. In case I ever win the lottery, I plan on grabbing a red '19 R1 as an addition to the FZ-10 and would be reaching back out to you guys for another kit!
The problem with the R1 is that i has high compression & Titanium valves which are both not very turbo friendly, it also has upper injectors which the MT/FZ does not, so it is possible but there is extra engine modification necessary. Also not sure if there are any fitment issues re the fairing.
FZ-10 with a turbo?!
How much torque you want?
"Yes"
😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
😊
😊😊😊
May you please do more videos with a turbo r7? Beautiful machine
This sir is a lovely piece of kit..very well done 👏
Thats awesome, keep up the work.
This is gonna be interesting. Also, kinda insane putting a turbski on a bike in the first place, but hey i'm interested to see this for sure!
Shit I didn't know Ben still had a channel..Been a long time since I left the ASF forum..man aren't we getting old..might have to reinstate my old handle (DaveK5) nice to see your still building..I'm starting a new one next year.
YES! this is great, well done Ben!
I'm pretty sure this is the A2 license (max 35kW) restricted version of the R7 as it makes about a max of about 35kW (=~47hp) in the original dyno. The unrestricted version already makes 70hp stock and also makes a lot more torque (around 50 lbft).
Damn! Great job, that a huge increase in power
absolutely amazing job. i have a 2010 Gilera gp 800 that i has going to put a 1000cc kit, but i was wondering if it's not better to put a turbo, and now i'm sure. but i'm wondering if it's not better to forged the engine? do you think it's better to forged? the bike is a 839cc vtwin engine and to forged i will need to go a do a custom kit, has dp engines was the only ones to do a forged kit of rods and pistons, but they no longer do it.
Wow that is one badass r7 now
Very cool. Dont know if i missed anything but is it 100% bolt-on? If so, how does it hold up? Bike seems to get a good increase in power.
Soo cool!! Is there a noticable amount of turbo lag? If so can it be tuned out? Also is it possible to run lower boost with your set up?
There's not noticable lag on a setup like this, unlike a car where you are trying to move 1+ton of weight, bikes dont suffer the same with a correctly sized turbo, can run as low as 5.5 psi & makes about 103hp power comes on very linear.
@@extcreatoh wow that's good to know!! thank you for the response brother
WTF 😮 it doubled the HP 😮
Nicely done 😊
Yeah... No. The bike is the gimped LAMS version, the HO makes closer to 80HP, this was an exercise in intelligent marketing.
plus you need to lower compression ratio of the engine for turboing
@@krazed0451 Advertised at 74hp at the crank. This dyno made 45hp at the wheels so obviously not making the full 74. But on the same dyno this made 112hp so it is more like 130 at the crank. Still almost double the factory spec.
that bike looks so nice man
How much torque increased compare to stock? What are the lifespan for the turbo kit components? Any maintenance or replacement parts required? It will be nice if some sort of protection for the turbo kit.
This is incredible.
The amount of fiddly bits on the bike just to get access to the airbox is a bit frustrating. Nice turbo kit and a great installation video!
Hey, do you plan to have a kit for the Kawasaki Z900?
Does the new exhaust with this kit support the factory or, better yet, wide band O2 sensor? After the removal of the factory sensor, you didn’t mention it again and the new exhaust looks like it has a bung.
Will it support the bung for the FlashTune Active Tuner loop?
It can be added if required
With this kit do you have to worry about rain water getting into the intake? Or Is the intake placement in a good spot for all weather
The R3 needs this!
perfection! good job.🙏❤
Dumb idea but I'm glad someone did it for my entertainment lol great job
Great video, thank you
Very nice kit!
Absolutely awesome video . Here where I live in Madeira Island Portugal we don’t have motorcycle dynos . What does this kit cost ? and would I be able to get it tuned with out a dyno ?
Cool project, daps from the US 💪
Superb chap, do you do a similar kit for the Honda CB500R Twin and you you post to Scotland. Thanks.
Do you have any videos of this kit in action?
Would you guys make a turbo kit for the R3? I think that would make a little beast
Lol no, even the turbo kit for the R7 is a waste of time. Sell the R3, and buy a propper sports bike that is not an R7.
Why would you do that? Just a waste of money. I honestly don't see the appeal of doing this to R7 either..
At first I was wondering why would you want to turbo an r7 and then I saw the hp numbers before and after and it's impressive. Ive got an fz1 now but I did have an ninja 650 and I wonder what numbers it would put out with that same combo.
Does it have a turbo engine lmao
@@berndelignie8002 no it's got an electric engine that runs on water.
the Ninja 650 would put out similar numbers to the R7 as they are both basically the same engine, the biggest difference being the R7 has a 270 degree crank.
Is it faster than a 600 supersport on the top end now?
Great video! Could you tell me what those mini allen ratchets are called? I can't find them and they look incredibly useful
Type , 1/4 drive mini ratchet set into google images & you'll find them.
@@extcreat legend, ty!
the amazing bike kawasaki R7 🔥🔥
Do the clutch and valve springs hold up?
A Turbo Kit for a Honda CBR500* would sell like hot cakes...
The mt07 lams model was also restricted with a throttle stop and restricted air snorkels. Does the lams r7 also include these ?
Exelente great Job !!! Saludos desde Colombia
Any chance there will be a kit for the Ninja/Z 650 models
do these bike not have altitude and temperature correction maps ?
Would love to see what you can do with the new xsr900
Does the clutch need upgrading or is it good with that amount of boost?
It depends how you ride, if you plan on lots of Launching & drag racing then the upgraded clutch spring option is recommended, otherwise the OEM assist clutch does a good job.
Great work
Great Video Cheers Bud
Need more content with turbo kit on the r7 search the internet all over this is pretty much the only video out on it

I'm at 82 hp with a full Yoshi, DNA air filter and cap, and a Fast tune ECU tune
Hey love your work guys. Will you have one for the 2022 CBR 650R?
That would be a fun bike!
I’d buy it
Ben can make custom applications to whatever you want.
@@weaselman24 yea but how much more expensive is that :( I need poor man’s boost. Are you familiar with the hardware in all these kits by any chance?
@@Fee.1 a proper dyno tune will be quite expensive besides the kit itself.
Fast bike and sounds really good
love the plate :))
carbon or kevlar box option would be cool. already cool obviously. interesting stuff
maybe a small oil cooler with that weight saved.
edit might already have. idk this bike
velocity stack with filter still on turbo and heat shield action.
Do you guys have turbo kits for 2012 kawasaki ninja zx6r?
Do you have titanium options for the exhaust?
YESSSS!!!! Keep it up!!
Re-titles video: "Man installs turbo kit using only one hand!"
Is there kits for 2022 mt09’s… only curious 😅?
I wonder what difference an intercooler would make to this if you were able to find a place to put it
It's not needed at low boost , when we turn it up we will be installing an intercooler though .
👏 bravo. Well played
Pretty impressive
Would it fit a 2022 tracer 7? Do you ship to the UK?
How does this effect the longevity of the engine with spirited riding? Like I understand it’s increasing power decreases longevity generally but any idea how drastic it would be?
lets just say if you turbo a bike you are lucky it starts....
lol really? knew a guy with a turbo car like that
Our kits are designed for everyday use, we have many customers that daily their bikes with our turbo kits. Keep in mind that during low speed cruising the turbo isn't doing anything so the motor works like stock a lot of the time. With regular oil changes there's no reason the motor won't last similar to a stock one @ 7.5 psi boost. Obviously the higher the boost & more power the more maintenance will be required but we'll get to that in a future video
@@thepro08 I had a turbo mt09 (extreme creations kit) and blew an engine only because I had my chain snap and put a hole in the block(it was loose), I thrashed the f-k out of it and never had an issue other then the one described.
I've always thought that Yamaha always cram their motors into the bike making it virtually impossible to work on. You make it look a bit easier. I actually thought that Yamaha cast a smaller inlet tract into the head but it appears not. I have a KTM 890R DUKE absolutely love the motor not sure about a turbo kit for it though as it has more than enough mumbo
Love the build. Is that scavenge pump available in the USA? What is the make and model # of that pump? Tried searching but came up with nothing. It's the perfect size for my project.
Thank you
That is a VDO pump although they are discontinued , We sell a similar pump now & ship to the US every day, www.extremecreations.com.au/turbo-kit-scavenge-pump
Is turbo charging the R7 legal in the ACT? I know nothing about is and would love to know for future references. Thank you
I wonder if someone could change the power to weight ratio by leaving off all the parts that just make the frame look like something it's not.
do you have a kit for the T7 Tenere or the world raid ?
Have you got footage of the screamer pipe on?
So that means it will work on a tenere? Oh wow i would love to see that! Many people would!
Do you think you could make a turbo kit for a ninja 650 lams?
I live in Spain and have a R7 2023 model I’d love to turbo charge it but I don’t know who could do it over here in Madrid
Im looking for one for the r6 rj15 but can’t find a good one any recommendations?
The turbo kit seems to have put this R7 right on par with an R6
you cuold just buy an old R6 for the price of the turbo kit
@@jimmysmyth7510 then I'd be just like everyone else. Anything with a turbo that doesn't come with one stock turns heads 🤷♂️🤷♂️
Lpve hiw meticulous this video is, especially with all the handy engineering tips, eg., oiling the pump before fixing it.👍🏽
My question is how does this effect the riding. Does it become more snappy or unpredictable? Is it safe for the streets or publick roads?
Not at all, power delivery is very linear.
I have an RF 900 Suzuki. What Turbo kit would you recommend. Or is it an impossible project to get going?
rf900 is an awesome bike. also got 1. would be mental with 5gears but would our gearbox hold up?
What result would you expect from the non lams R7 in regards to HP?
stock: 69 BHP to Boosted: ~112BHP. They mention it can be tuned and modified to +120HP but that requires and internal build.
Awesome kit. Do you ship to the US? How much is one of these kits?
Yes there's a link to our store in the description
Can you guys devlop one of these for the RS660?
