Put a wot box on it
Nitrous or turbo?
Why not both?
Why not just put a bigger cheapo motor like from Harbor Freight? Twin cyl??
Should have added a wheelie bar for that kind of power.
That turbo works best on like a 500cc engine 500-600 should put one on proper bike like a cbr 600. Ghostrider had a similar setup. can actually make some really good power. That turbo will make 15 psi under the right conditions
Best donut quote of all time... "We're running out of un-dangerous spots"

Agreed
@Jack Wrath who
@Jack Wrath nah
I have not watched the video yet, waiting on 2 ads right now, but that better be James that said that it sounds like him 😂
I'm fully convinced this entire walmart motorcycle series was just one of Jeremiah's fever dreams that he just willed to fruition
Management: Fine...... We'll do a motorcycle series. But your budget is only $1,000.
Jeremiah: I can work with that...
😂😂 as a rider myself fuck it we'll take it

This is one of the best videos by Donut Media in months! Nice work, Beremiah Jurton. We can tell you put a lot of effort into it, and the results don't disappoint.
Hell yeah! Glad Jerry and the boys are getting to make some more motorcycle content!
The Engineer and The Mechanic are back at it againnn. Best duo on Donut
Which is which
The one with the engineering degree is the engineer. The one that does most of the mechanic stuff is the mechanic.

it's so weird to see you guys actually doing mechanic stuff for once. lol You should do more crazy projects like these, this is effectively the linus tech tips of over the top absurd cars.
That comment didn't age well
Brilliantly conceived and executed. Deserves an award
Jerry using this series of making a skuffed walmart bike a reason to buy a top of the range racing suit is the best grift I have ever seen. I'm here for it
I had the same thoughts... got himself sweet gear for "work"
I’m pretty sure they have like 10 nice racing suits lying around the garage at this point lol
Buy?! I’m sure it was a freebie.
I was slightly appalled at their lack of safety gear in previous episodes. You don't need to spend 10gs but it's 100% worth it. Even less expensive, but properly tested, safety gear is worth it's weight in gold.
I would absolutely watch a season of Hi-Low with bikes. Could even keep the costs down!
Hi-Low bikes should be, None other then SV650's. Massive aftermarket and even race series for them specifically - also pretty cheap to obtain.
@@_PSYDUCK_ would be too dangerous for testing
Next season of Hi-Low will be fwd jdm drag cars
@@justinroser6833 with some proper training (i.e California Superbike School) and the correct riders, it would mitigate risk. You couldn't completely remove that risk though. You would need a control rider too for accurate comparisons. You are right though, it would be inheritantly more dangerous.
@@math_pqn7755 Yuck, no thanks. No one wants to see FWD drag cars with skinny rears.
These kind of videos where yall actually get into how parts work and show how truly frustrating the gear life can be are my favorite!
I have a couple of mini bikes including one just like yours. Get a cheap torque converter and it will do 40mph at least without the turbo or no2. Love this videos ❤
I love eps where these two are the hosts. It really eminates experienced mechanics vibe with humor and fucking around.
Old school NASCAR!!! without the racism.
Hey... Let's get an Up to Speed episode on Wendell Scott and Wiley T. Ribs. Do it before February so it's not pandering.
If you already had it planned for January 16th I will allow it.
Y’all should have a set budget build battle between all the guys and take em around the track. the guys buy a 5k car and use 5k in parts and rate it in looks nd performance from drag races to track times, it’ll definitely show the guys personality thru the build and it can be an hour long ep showcasing there mechanic knowledge and ability !😁
That’s my take on a video idea but you guys can change the budget, and also for an extra bit , have a pro driver or a special guest come in drive all the cars and rate which one is the best street car

That mallet flip by Jobe at 1:42 is absolutely underrated
I mean, yes, but anyone who deals with hammers on a daily can do that on a whim.
Source: I used to build trusses, using a hammer all day. My hammer turned into a giant fidget spinner; spinning it around the head, 720° flipping along the handle, throwing it irresponsibly high and trying to catch it without hitting myself, using it as a baseball bat (and missing 90% of all projectiles), but most of all, double and triple flipping it over its long end.
Nearing the end of my time working there, I was pushing quad flips, but those were hard because I had to mix height with spin speed, both of which are intimidating and dangerous.
Cool stuff nonetheless
I thought you said mullet flip lol

James and Nolan are great, but Zach and Jeremiah are my favorite because they actually have so much knowledge when it comes to cars and a lot of the time they are the ones doing the hard work and I appreciate the fact they are good characters and also good mechanics

Woah!!! that turbo is bigger than the one on my Ford Transit Connect, 1.6 diesel!!! Just got it re mapped ,from 93 to a blistering 135HP!!
The comedy of him riding in 12k worth of safety gear is amazing!
Anything to protect that beautiful face
lets be honest, it was a 50/50 shot of this crappy little bike killing him after all these mods lol
lol not even close to 12k. A full 1-piece Dainese leather racing suit (like he's wearing) is around $2500 on the extreme high end. All of his gear (boots, helmet, suit, gauntlets) probably totals around $4500
Edit: With a second look, the helmet looks like an AGV Pista GP RR - it was $1450 brand new, and you can get them for $1100 all day long. So maybe around $3500 for everything.
@@Hawk7886 fair enough I'm just going from what he said. I thought 10k sounded excessive tbh.
34 mph is actually impressive. That’s about as fast as my 49cc China scooter would go before mods. Given that this is a pit bike from Walmart, that’s pretty good. I’m actually amazed this thing hasn’t pinged itself to death yet given that I’m sure nothing has been changed on the ignition timing
Yet
We have some at our shop. There are performance tiered kits you can get. We got ours up to thirty. I would love to put. Turbo on them. Of course I haven't finished the video yet..
@@michaelmacdade6629 change the gearing, i have the same bike as donut and mine goes 45-50mph stage 1
With a torque converter it would have gone well over 50mph. That poor little clutch can’t handle it and the gearing runs out way too soon.
There are some compensatory measures they can and/or may have taken to help. Obviously, the engine is intended for 87 and I'm sure they put in higher octane. In addition, rejetting the carb for a richer mixture will cool the charge as it goes through the turbo and is forced to evaporate. With some sort of logic control, they could wire it to open the fuel solenoid (the one used w/ N2O) at WOT to inject extra fuel after the turbo to cool the charge further and reduce knock...
And then, of course, they could add an intercooler... but none of that is likely to be a big deal at the 2-3 PSI they are seeing.
Genius, pure genius! Nice!
The post outhouse dance was fantastic man!!!!!!!!!!
Top speed was a nice improvement but I was more impressed w/ the increase in acceleration. Almost a 50% decrease in accel time is pretty amazing.

The thought that it even worked is amazing. That really took serious knowledge and skill.
Love the mini bike series
It doesn't make any meaningful amount of boost because without volume in the plenum, you're working against the intake valve. The smaller the engine, and especially with single cylinders, the more plenum volume you need. Add about a coke-bottle sized air chamber in between the turbo and head, and increase the main jet size by about 50%, it will fly. Just make sure you design it so that the lowest part of the coldside piping is still the intake port, if that makes sense. You don't want fuel puddling up. -Doc

I really hope you guys make more motorcycle builds in the future, I would be really interested in what bike components are worth upgrading and modifying!
10000% support this!!!
This thing goes 30 stock. I had this exact CT200U-EX and topped out at 30, and the way to do it, is to remove the throttle limiter screw on the throttle linkage. It limits like 30% of the bike's power. (I achieved 30mph after also partially disabling the governor, but aside from that, everything was 100% stock).
I’ve hit 45 miles with governor removed , header pipe and 40 tooth sprocket and I’m 280 pounds 😅
@rubengomez1589 Yeah the sprocket makes a HUGE difference! I was just about to run a new one that would've cut my ratio in half, and theoretically near doubled the speed. Unfortunately, I sold it because as a 15 year old, the police don't like when I ride it on the street and I wasn't looking to get my license at 18. I also never fully disabled the governor because I didn't want my valves to float, and didn't feel like spending 300 on a new flywheel, valve springs, and rod. These things rip if you know what to do with them!
Remove the governor and get a billet rod and billet flywheel so the stock one won’t explode past a certain rpm. And also putting a torque converter on or just straight chain helps by getting rid of the stock jack shaft setup
i been at my dads for the weekend and i came home with the video i been waiting for love you guys:)
I suspect the performance bottleneck on small aircooled engines is the cooling, as I've seen faster variants of a bike that mostly just added an oil cooling loop, so now it can rev higher or accept a larger throttle input without burning up.
These two together is like watching the “Rockers” in the 80’s. 😂
I wanna see a budget EFI conversion with megasquirt and some actually tuning for the turbo.
Love that edit right before the nine minute mark. Love the show narcos lol
You're laghing so much that it's easy to forget how complex it was putting this thing on the bike. Great craftsmanship guys.
I did a draw through carburetor setup on my sisters old SAAB V4, the way I solved the distance from throttle issue was I ran a diverter valve from those old ford vans that had 2 gas tanks. I ran the fuel pump to the diverter valve and then put one hose to the carb and one to the throttle body. when I hit the diverter on start-up it pumps fuel straight into the throttle body, it's essentially just a really strong choke haha, love these videos!!!!
Love those v4 engines, sound is so unique

That gear is so awesome! You look straight up fresh buddy! 12:14
I think this just proves that the Coleman bike is way tougher than it looks. To put up with modifications like this and keep running is impressive.
These colemans are incredibly tough. Mine makes about 18 horsepower and can hit 60 in just a few seconds
They are pretty simple structures, and that engine is such low performance that its not really pushing it even when you double the power. Consider that KTM makes a similar size 200cc that makes 26 HP stock, you realize these aren't exactly competing against stock small motorcycles even with a turbo and NOS.
14:15, it didn't last a day with those modifications. But if you left it stock I would give it a year and my 14yr old self would have that thing ragged. Been there done that.
@@jakegarrett8109 The bike uses incredibly thin tubing. It is marketed as a children’s toy. They are not sold as motorcycles at all, they are mini-bikes with a 196cc log-splitter engine. This bike is $799, KTM’s 200 is a real motorcycle and costs thousands of dollars. I don’t think it is fair to compare. I paid an additional 800 for Tillotson 225 racing motor with 18+ hp that will make you shit your pants. It is not legal or practical at all, but it is fun. In their videos, the turbo and nos do almost nothing as the gearing has not changed and they made no modifications to the internals of the engine. I would be surprised if their bike makes even 12hp. These Coleman’s have the potential to hit 60+ mph. KTM’s bike is also a full-size motorcycle, these are much smaller.
@@nicholasgascoyne3144 I'm aware the limitations, since they were doing drag testing I'd keep the gearing stock (or use a CVT from a go-cart, or I've also got a small torque converter which allows you to double your torque at takeoff but mine doesn't have electromagnetic torque locking capability so you'll lose top speed due to inefficiency not being able to lock it at speed).
My guess is they turned that 6-6.5 HP engine into MAYBE 10 HP (could be 12, but I'm with you its still very close to single digits), and that's kind of my point. Any motorcycle engine is going to make more, even my grandfather's 90cc did 70 mph stock with a full size adult.
Kids wreck these all the time though, and you don't want parents angry that a broken pipe jabbed into a kids leg, so its not that thin. Also my neighbor was about 200-230 pounds when he was 12 (he looked like an adult), and his little 96cc roughly minibike held up to him making little tiny ramps (which is a massive loading condition coming down without suspension), so the frame design is quite good for what it is (it could be better, but its actually not that bad). And with low power its not exactly twisting the engine out of its mounts.

Hey! Was wondering if that spark was the flywheel! Had the same thing happen too me minus the turbo hahaha, was like where did those sparks shoot from! Lol awesome video!
Get a stage 2 kit with a billet aluminum flywheel, camshaft, 22lb valve springs and billet connecting rod and take out the governor for goodness sakes, that's the one thing that's keeping you from getting good top speed and maybe even a smaller rear sprocket for the wheel for even more top speed.
