Imagine having a jungle full of those iridescent plants, that would be so cool to walk through!
oooo a jungle full of dark green and brown leaves. magical.
Many tropical plants from rainforest are like that. The effects are more subtle than a camera could show. Eg philodendrons.
I was thinking they'd make really cool decorative houseplants.
You could keep em next to a window for some real sunlight along with a small growlight above in winter. That moved side to side. So the plants would always change color & created a cool display.

that seagull waited a few seconds before striking, those damn birds stealing all of the attention
Fun fact: it’s not a coincidence that that plant glows iridescently blue in particular. Blue and ultraviolet colors are in the range of vision of many pollinators, like bees and some moths, but blue pigments are actually very chemically complicated (and sometimes dangerous to cells) because it has a higher frequency and is thus higher energy than other light. This means that the chemical structures needed to make it are more precise, and put more oxidative stress on the cells as the electrons get excited by the light.
What’s seen on the light is nature’s answer to hard-to-make pigments: structural color. By taking advantage of the properties of reflection, specifically how different colors reflect at slightly different angles, tiny nanoscale structures with just the right spacing can reflect specific colors of light and not others, making it appear blue. This is also why butterfly wings are so shiny, the scales have ridges on them at the right spacing to reflect blue light. (They also use regular pigments for other colors).
The cat drinking from the faucet had me laughing out loud!
It was a very orange cat moment.
I love how the seagull didn't even steal food or anything. Just wanted to annoy her 😭
It knocked the food to the ground. The person probably won't eat it. They will leave it, or put it in a bin. Then the seagulls can probably come back for it.

0:50 So, genuinely curious, who takes the financial loss do you think? The woman had paid and was in the middle of receiving her items. However, the cashier didn't put the money in his register yet (and perhaps no receipt given yet either). So had the money been officially exchanged and it was his loss now? Or is it classified as not a complete transaction and she loses it?
I think that means the bird stole the store savings and not the woman's.
I don't know though its a good question.
I know that I'd definitely just take the items. Store can handle the loss
I recognize that was in my country, and well, there is no correct answer.
They probably talked to decide. Didn't look like too much money (max R$50), so it would depends if the woman had more money with her or not to replace it, but since it was such a crazy moment with them laughing, I would bet the shop took the loss there.
