Not to disregard how you are feeling, but you are not old. You do not have wrinkles to speak of. You are lean, fit, healthy, quick to smile, motivated when the time is right, able to cook fantastic food, make your own clothes, work in the garden, sing and play guitar, sharing your life with a wonderful family and Logan, beautiful hair (no lie), beautiful body, have a cookbook for sale. I am 68 and looking back at photos when I was young like you and looked great, but felt the same that you are feeling. I would give anything to get the chance to do things differently. Firstly, to like myself more and don't compare myself to anyone. You are unique! One thing I hope to impress upon you is that you can figure out your feelings and are allowed to work through them , but do not let these passing feelings define you. I let it seep into my persona and the insecurity became part of my personality. Don't waste time on negative feelings, especially, about your wonderful self. Yes, you can feel them, but learn to diffuse them if they are not in your best interest. You have alot to look forward to and if things go wrong, I have every bit of faith in you to figure it out. Always in your corner! xxoo

❤❤❤Yes, growing older is a blessing. 🙏I lost my younger daughter a few years ago 💔😢growing up I’ve seen a few family members lose their children and I always said that I never wanted to have any because I never wanted to experience that pain but as we get older we soon forget not about the pain but that it’s a process of life Until one day I had two beautiful daughters, and a few years later I lost her at such a young age. I have lost both my parents and lots of people in my life and it is painful, but losing a child is the worst pain of all something that never goes away, we just learn to go on each and every day 💔😢but I know without God I wouldn’t be here today either because the grief is that real 😢❤❤❤

I've never seen Isabel as that type of person. I see nothing wrong with Heather sharing her experience and a different perspective towards aging. I too have felt sadness about aging and to hear someone say it's a gift makes me think about my viewpoint and lifts my spirits. What Isabel (with her video) and Heather (with her comment) did is considered a healthy form of communication. Your comment was close-minded and quite frankly rude.

Starting it alone, reading God's Word, your cup of coffee, rice cake with peanut butter, writing your thoughts on what you are reading. Plans, goals, what my 1 hour project will be this day. It is not even difficult to get up at that time, the world is mostly sleeping, the windows coverings are closed and you feel like you are in a snuggle blanket. 4:11 I went to a school like that from age 9-12. We had chickens too and the school had a collab with some farmers so every week 2 students from every class would leave leftover lunch food to their pigs (they were pet pigs, so it wasn’t a regular farm, it was a family that liked animals). In Sweden the government pays for the lunch with our taxes, since school is obligatory they reasoned that then the government must pay for the food to help families. We would have themes along side the regular education, where we would grow crops and just learn about nature and animals. If someone went abroad for the holidays they had an assignment to tell the class when they came back, about the culture in that country and tending to food and cooking etc. It was an experiment and it worked so well that we now have many schools like that here. So that’s cool! Many students from my class back then now have phd:s tied to the environment and sustainability. *I agree with you, Isabel, what we are taught from early on matters!*

I've been renovating an old house in the country with my partner for the last 3 years, and every time we spend even a few days at a relative's or friend's house, I go through a massive mindset shift, I feel more positive and grounded immediatelly. So no wonder why you are feeling more like yourself and more able to believe in yourself after spending Christmas in a more convenient and comfortable environment.
I used to think of myself as someone who didn't need any comfort or conveniece to be happy, but I was wrong, to a certai extent I do. Living in uncomfortable housing and weather conditions, and having a thousand little tasks to do everyday is extremely draining and discouraging....even when you love the project that you're doing. For anyone out there going through something similar, balance is key, be realistic about your needs and what you can handle (and for how long) to avoid worn out. It's ok to want some comfort, just be aware of it and remember that the present moment is all there is. Lots of love from Spain!

Getting older seems like a drag at first. Then you accept it. After that, you somehow embrace it and realize it's just part of who you are and it becomes a matter of perspective. As for me, I'll be 65 next month and I still don't know what I want to be when I 'grow up'.

I say this only out of love because I had the same symptoms. I was a vegan for 2 years and it wrecked my body. I ate the same way I see you cook . But my body needed animal products. I still eat extremely healthy. Grown my own food and only eat local beef and we have chickens and lamb for eggs and meat. It changed my everything about my health.
I was 25 , my gums were receding, my hair was thinning and going Grey, I was achy everywhere and my skin just look dull.
Now all those things are reversed I was able to get pregnant and have a beautiful baby at home and breastfeed her for 3 years.
I share this because bring vegan WRECKED my health.
I have soo much gratitude for the life the animals give me and the nutrients they provide.

When you talked about ageing, as young as you are, you made me laugh! You have no clue what aging has instore for you. Just notice the moments as you do, it's not the years that pass so much but the decades that fly by.

    • @righteouswhippingstick
      @righteouswhippingstick Před rokem

Same thoughts as everyone. We all age at the exact same rate. No one gets older faster and each individual correctly compares themselves with the younger self. So while it seems silly, it isn't, because reflection is 100 times better than distraction. Adjusting accordingly with each new understanding of possabilities and limitations is key to coping. Doors open. Doors close. Best not to ignore them and sit in one room. Then when you go through a door the world and yourself are unrecognizable and the ground is pulled out and all that remains is embitterment with the callous environment that unfairly left one behind. Reminiscing becomes a cruel self pitying habit that undermines the person preventing one from making the connections that plug one back into the positive side of life.

i have been using a similar recipe for about ten years now and it works wonders. i don't use the beeswax or the shea butter as the coconut oil brings all the wonderful moisturizing properties, and i like to use earthier scents for the essential oils, aside from the tea tree oil which i always use as it has anti-microbial properties. thanks for sharing, isabel! btw: i highly recommend you read debra wildrick's comment, very wise. one thing i would add: i was listening to a buddhist monk the other day and he reminded us, much more eloquently than i can, to focus on staying even, not letting the ups and downs of feelings sway us. there are ups because there are downs, there is healthy because there is sickness...but staying even helps us put those things into perspective and not let them take too much energy. 💕 you are on a WONDERFUL track, and you often teach this almost 63 year old lots of good lessons on how to add to my simple living and healthy home cooking!

When you get older, your mind is always younger than what your body can do. This is why older folks have a hard time when they can't do the things they want to do because they can not do anymore. This is what I'm starting to deal with in my family

    • @modoodles

If more people exercised, ate healthy and practiced flexibility on a daily basis, then a large group of the old people would be able to do much more. Look at the 80 year old people in Japan who still hike mountains and eat miso soup with mushrooms. It's about lifestyle! I see 70+ year old people in my city with barely any mobility and it's sad because it probably could've been avoided. People can still potentially function at 70-90 if they lead a healthy lifestyle and didn't have any life altering injuries/illnesses

Not being able to do things that you did when younger is definitely hard to deal with. The key, and this is difficult as well, is learning to accept it. I watched my mom grow bitter because she thought she should be able to do the things at 90 that she did at 40. At 68 I can’t do what I did 25 years ago. Learning to accept that makes it much easier to deal with.

Diet is our life source. I know you eat so well and it’s admirable how dedicated you are to your craft. However..maybe your diet is a little restrictive and by nature lacks necessary nutrients our human bodies need? 😬 idk idk you’re young and active, you shouldn’t be feeling old in your body girl. I’m about to turn 31 and I only feel old when I think about how out of touch I am with current pop culture, but I’m fine with that.
