This video is for anyone with older fuel injected Twin cam...you will probably have to deal with this in the future. Hope the video will help you save $$$ and fix it yourself!
Nice video! I have a 1997 Electra glide that had a poor running problem when engine was warm. The rpm were all over the place and wanted to stall out. My issue was the ENGINE TEMPERATURE SENSOR, under gas tank and down in the front top head. Soon as I replaced with new one the bike idled and ran like new. Something also to consider. Every 30-40,000 miles that needs to be replaced.
Thank you Thank you THANK YOU!!! My bike started running like ass and left me stranded 40 miles from home. And the culprit was the fuel regulator cup assembly. Rebuilt the entire system except for the pump and now my 06 Ultra Classic purrs like a horny walrus and got her power back... Great video and great solution.
That damn plastic part was the exact one that has kept my bike down for the last week. Tried the Cranck has sensor and that didn't work, worked on the intake, checked every inch of wiring . It was that same plastic POS. Thank you
That's a plastic part that eventually, was eliminated, by 07 or 08..very good video. Had a good laugh when the fuel sprayed the camera hope no one got sprayed also.👍
Had same issue HD shop charged me $480 for new regulator, fixed it for a couple of days then same thing. I tore into it and replaced o ring on regulator and before I put it back in between the ears I tie wrapped the housing and regulator together with 2 tie wraps which prevents it from coming apart. Been running like a champ for almost a year now.
Awesome video!! I had the exact problem with the plastic regulator housing ear broken, and the regulator gasket was warped. This helped me get back up and running!! Thank you!!
FYI… if (1) your fuel pump sounds like it pressurized and (2) you pull your fuel line and gas comes out (I.e. fuel line was actually pressurized)- it may be your throttle cable or throttle sensor- especially if it stays running if you give it gas. Make sure your throttle cables are tight and throttle sensor is clean. I know.. it seems like the bike should idle with no throttle but subjectively I had these exact symptoms and it was my throttle cable and sensor.
i have a 200o road king classic that ive been working off and on for the last 3 months that was doing this. i replace the fuel pressure regulator (under the throttle body) and replaced the fuel line. it idles awesome but it dies when i try to ride. im thinking its the fuel injectors. the guy im buying it from had medical issues and couldnt get out of bed so it sat in his garage for 3 years full of gas and oil so i drained all of that out.. its definitely been fun trying to get it running right
I have a 2015 street Bob and it runs fantastic until you try to pull it to a stop sign and let it idle and it feels like it wants to chug itself out and die but I swear that I have until I change the grips I have since cleaned out the entire intake, with jet spray and put really good gas in it and it’s still not wanting to idle once I ride it a little bit
My 2000 Roadking is doing the same thing except its carburated Not efi....replaced ignition coil, spark plugs & both spark plug wires. Fresh gas, getting fuel just fine, compression excellent. Have no clue why it starts & runs 4 or 5 seconds then dies. Please help! Ugh
Can you give me some help? I have a fuel injected 2006 Heritage Classic. It acts just like your bike, but with worse symptoms. The fuel pump does not seem to be priming. It no longer make any sounds. The system relay and fuel pump fuses are okay, but the fuel pump fuse is not getting any power. Could that mean that the relay itself is also not getting power? Where does the relay get its power from?
I have a 2000 Road King and after being parked for a while it wont start. I dont hear the fuel pump priming, could that be it? I purchased a pump, filter and regulator kit but figured I asked before replacing, thanks
I have an 06 screamin eagle v rod that died on my. I knew my battery was starting to go so replaced it, but soon realized I actually suddenly lost power to fuel pump. No power to even the fuse for the fuel pump. Any suggestions?

Explanation of problem at 6:00
Next time use two hand to put the hose on. So you dont put pressure on the ears
Great video!!! ✌
