Oh man Salming was a hero to me as a kid. I couldn't help but cry at the HOF induction weekend. RIP 💔
I will never forget Canada Cup 1976 when Börje got standing ovation for 10-15 min. Thats was the day when we in Sweden first understood how popular and big Börje was over there. In Sweden we at the time didnt get much info about NHL what happened there. But this day wow what a night.

Seeing Darryl s anguish at the HOF told me it was bad and near. For the younger kids you don’t realize how good Salming was. He was the Nik Lidstrom, Cale Makar of our era. And man he was bullied to no avail but he did not back down from anyone. He was so mentally strong and a phenomenal player. RIP.

Borje Salming was the Bjorn Borg of Hockey and he was a hero to us all kids in Toronto

Mr. Salming was an inspiration. I dare say he was so strong that he would have stood shoulder to shoulder with Tyler Bertuzzi against the clot shots, as any role model for kids should have done.

I THINK IT'S SELF EXPLANATORY! ONE OF THE GREATEST HOCKEY PLAYERS OF ALL TIME HAS PASSED AWAY FROM A HORRIBLE DISEASE AT A RELATIVELY YOUNG AGE.
HE SET MANY AMAZING RECORDS DURING HIS CAREER AND ENDEARED HIMSELF TO FANS WORLD WIDE!
AND ALSO HE LOVED HIS FANS AND THE FEELING WAS MUTUAL.
THEREFORE WE MOURN HIS PASSING!
