The 1080ti still seems like a viable card. The 4060Ti is only 18% faster which means the only cards *significantly* better than a 1080ti start at $600 Msrp for a 4070. If only a $600+ card provides a big boost, your card is probably fine

I’ve got the 1070ti and it’s still doing great for me at 1440p, I usually will scale down some settings but primarily use it at 1440p. Some games I can’t hold 60, but honestly I can live with 40ish fps for the higher resolution of 1440p over downscaling often.

I still run a 1070 ti... and frankly its only in the last year that I have even begun considering upgrading it... games that I typically play are only just starting to drop below 50 and 60 fps at 1440p and 2k... gaming... and paying inflated graphics card prices always seemed like an insane proposition when I wasn't getting more VRAM, and maybe a 10% improvement in actual speeds
Its only really with the 40 series cards that the improvement looks like it is going to FEEL really big, but at the same time even today I struggle to justify spending 700 on a single component for a build...

My 1070 Ti was a great card for me while I had it. It played everything super well, at least until I switched to Linux. After switching to Linux, the card handled everything pre-DX12 really well. But anything that required DX12 ran poorly on it due to a hardware limitation of the Pascal cards that caused VKD3D (DX12 to Vulkan compatibility layer) to run slowly. I've since sold that card back when gas prices were super high and I needed the money to fix up a more fuel efficient car, and took a year and a half off of PC gaming afterwards (2022 was just a rough year).
It really was a great card, and I'm sure I'd still have it today if circumstances were different.
Now I've got an RX 6600 XT, which handles DX12 to Vulkan really really well and for less than $200 on eBay. But that 1070 Ti will hold a special spot in my memory as it really was the card the cemented my love for PC gaming as a whole.

However I've accepted that and bought a Mac Mini M2 Pro with 10 CPU cores, 16 GPU cores, 16GB ram, and 512GB SSD. I'm really not rocking those PC games anyway. I mean sure I did when I had the Alienware, but I only had 23 PC games overall. I didn't see the big advantage to PC gaming at all either, I mean yeah I did 1440p and 180 to 280 FPS on the Alienware monitor I bought also, but the graphics looked exactly the same as on PS5 and Xbox Series X. Also I'm a controller player, I've always hated mouse and keyboard other than being an excellent typist on the keyboard as I type pretty fast and very good at it. Those GPUs in this video, man they are old. I would say for those who want to get into PC gaming get at least the very very least a 3050.

Just days before I was about to pull the trigger on a CPU and GPU, which would have been $400-$500, I got a phone call from a coworker telling me to go to Wal-Mart to buy the HP Pavilion Power 580-023w (the famous Black Friday computer which was an AMAZING deal). This Pavilion Power had an i5-7400, GTX 1060 3gb, 8gb DDR4 2400 RAM and Win10 on a 1tb mechanical hd for $500 dolla. For the price of just the used CPU and 10 series card I now had a complete turn key gaming PC which I still use to this day as a daily rig with the only upgrades being an OC migration to a SSD and doubling the RAM to 16gb. I LOVE this computer so much and the 1060 3gb, which is chickenshit to some people, does everything I ask of it. The only game that gave my 1060 any problems and started causing constant crashes is Final Fantasy 14 with a TON of high detailed and demanding mods so to get around that I play that particular game on a Dell Precision T5810 I found on the curb one garbage night with a Xeon E5-1650v4 and 32gb of quad channel error correcting memory with the only mods/upgrades on my part being a new SSD with Win10 Pro and an OEM PNY GTX 1080 I purchased used on ebay which completely solved the the DX12 crashes.
I was very temped to just throw the 1080 into the HP Pavilion but I really love my 1060 and I will keep using it to the point of failure.

Prices will never be more reasonable again. After Nvidia (as well as Apple) realized that graphics cards will still sell even when the price is over $1000, because people simply don't have a choice (AMD isn't better either), since then different rules apply. Keep in mind that after the crypto boom, we are also expecting an AI boom and very likely new shortages, so the situation on the market will only get worse.
As for the upgrade, perhaps the best option is to buy used high end gpu's from the previous gen, since they don't sell performance boost in this generation (only 4070 ti and up) but features.

As I don't play the newest AAA FPS's, they all work, and look, beautiful. There's something about the look of the CPU flanked by 8 sticks of 4 channel Ram. Having an excess number of lanes also comes in handy for loads of storage or multiple GPU's. Long live 1080ti's and 2080ti's with the, now relevant, 11G of VRAM.

All i can say is that your MWII numbers are crazy low.
I tested my GTX 1080 so i ran the same settings 1440P Balanced on my OLD system rocking the i7 4790K, 16GB DDR3 2400Mhz and GTX 1080 at the same exact settings. And i scored 75 AVG, 5th low 54, low 1st 46. On 1080P Balanced i get 105 AVG, low 5th 78 and low 1st 68. So something is not right on your end. Have you tested it again?

I plan to test it again. I’ve heard this a few times now. It’s on my to do list. Thank you.

wow people who bought the 1070 ti got a great deal... i think that the 1070 ti is still solid i dont think the 4070 ti or 4070 will age as well as the 1070 or 1070 ti in the same life span.

these cards are better then this video is giving them credit to be, i have a 2060 super with a r5 5600. a 1080 ti would blow my 2060 super a way but yet my rig gives more fps in cod MW2 and cp2077. not sure what you have done.

    theres something fishy.
i use my 1080 TI since 2017 and i get your 1080p medium cyberpunk frames on 1080p ultra.
and ur 1440p medium fps numbers are mine on 1440 high
also the other games seem somewhat too low fps.
my afterburner also works flawless, vanilla one latest version

I don’t know honestly. 350w is really low. I would put all parts into PC part picker and see what the total wattage is.

I’m still using the 1080 ti with an i7 6700k. Still able to play on high presets on 1440 and with rdr2 still got around 50-60 fps.
First I want to upgrade my cpu and when I sold my kidney a new gpu.
