Fire Wood Processing Time, setting up the wood yard

  • All the yards resources are needed at firewood processing time, still in the coldest time of winter with snow storms and wind. Working outside is a challenge and we can lose everything to just one large snow storm. I am a long way from finished cutting but with varying weather I have to set out the yard and start to open the buildings.
    Thank you.

    It is hard work that you do, people take things for granted just turning up the stat when theres a chill. I heat my house with wood, never ending story. I ran my old sthil the other day, used to be able to run it all day when I was a younger man, not any more. Your little dog, his only worry is, when is he going to throw the ball. • @arctic-rebel
      @arctic-rebel  Před 4 měsíci

      Hi, Thanks, you can hold up several at a time a cut no problem. I prefer the fork lift for doing that because I can get so many more at a time and is quicker. I just drive into the pile and pick up as many that will stay on the forks and drive to the splitter then stand up and cut.

    Hello Simon, I just got done moving my splitter to the woodpile for splitting next years wood, came in for a coffee and watched another of your great videos, I live in maine, USA we are fortunate to have oak maple birch and other hardwoods for burning, I am envious of your winters, we used to have mostly snow all winter, I miss it, this year we only have received app, 10 inches all year, do you have your own woodlands to cut from, or neighbors let you cut on their lands? Thanks for the videos, stay safe, Ken..

      Hi Ken, it is possible our paths crossed in the past. I may know about Maine winters or what they were like Early 90's and your tree species. I am sure your full winters will return in a few years we are just on a warmer orbit around the sun, nothing to worry about normal heating and cooling of our beautiful planet. I do not own any forest so negotiate with those that do.Always improving the forest as I go. Thanks for dropping in the comments, Be well.

    I dont see any steel toe on your boots, please consider this, cutting in a pile is the most risk for this. Do own a piece of forest or you can just go out and cut some on big corporate or state forest?

      @arctic-rebel  Před 5 měsíci

      Very true statement, All tree's are owned by someone so you cannot just cut you either have to own the land or have permission (contract) to cut. I do not own any forest yet this I am working on so I negotiate with owners to cut.
