I never said anything about fun Brad, you must have misunderstood me. You are correct of course although I would go as far as to say -40 and water generally.
Hi Simon, when I see all this problems I am so happy that i have public water from a big lake in the forest and not a well. Take care, greetings from your neighbour country Norway. Hilsen QAsle
Hi Hilsen, I am also on public water from the river but we have had many burst pipe this winter which and the old 1950's iron pipes. These are deep and still have to be dug up and changed. Have a great weekend.
@@arctic-rebel hi Simon and thank you for the reply. Yes when the water pipes are getting old, they rot away. I also had to dig up and replace my water pipe some few years ago. My house is built in the 40's. It cost me alot, almost 40 000 Norwegian kroner, (4000$), since I had to have a company to do it. Have a nice wekend you too. Best wishes from Asle
The pipe equivalent to the needle in the haystack..finding a leak in underground waterpipes is no walk in the park.. I'd guess a new pipe, a 90° bend and a new foot valve in the well would solve the problem... me thinks🤔 Then again.. there will be some digging to be done and that's no easy peasy job. But I'm confident that the "Simonuity" will prevail once again👍👍 Have a great weekend my friend, all the best to the family and the furry favourite🐕
Thank you, a mini digger will not reach deep enough for the main pipes. We have had a huge machine here for a week fixing the main water lines, many of which burst over winter. The main village has iron pipes form the 50's and they are a long way down.
Really enjoy all the content you put up. Can’t wait for the next video to be posted. I hope you can resolve the water issue for the homeowner. Please keep the content coming.
You sure go to the bottom with your tasks, hope you charge enough🤓 Must be great with the midnight sun, more energy for yourself and light for more work🤠
As they say up north... if there's a well, a cellar... a pump sucking air... get Simon!! Just btw... why have I now got gold fever?? Happy weekend up there... be good, or be good at it! But... that you always are!!😁👍
I thought I was done with ground work 20 years ago, but no still at it. I don't know anything about gold and where you are, but I do know I have never seen gold like I have here. We have even found a rough diamond in a river many years ago.
Well.... that was good... 😅.. hope you figure out where that problem is.. I'm just in the process of reinstating a well on my property.. so watching with interest.. stay safe 🏴..
HellsBells, Simon……what have you landed yourself good self this time! I thought the underbelly of the last house and well was bad enough, but this is a six foot vertical dig….it’s going to be interesting what the owner decides. Oh! Do some gold digging while you at it…..may come in handy in the not too distant future 😊😊. Warmest love to you all.❤️🇦🇺🇸🇪
Hi Anne, I am the only person for a long way that is willing to do this king of work so I just get on with it whilst complaining you know how it is. I have just come back from part 2 of this project and there will be a concluding part and thankfully no digging.
Howdy Simon- you can surely get yourself in some tricky stuff to figure out. Here in the states a plumber would probably just dig a new ditch line and replace everything but you are dealing with customers who may not have the finances to do that so you do your magic and figure out how to do something that will fit their budget. You amaze me with your skills at trouble shooting and repairs. God bless you my friend
Thank you Paul, you already know the simple life means complex issues for the individual and I am very grateful for the opportunity to express my freedom and rights to work this stuff out for myself. If man built it then I can fix it or improve it. Have a great weekend my friend.
Thanks, did that and heard nothing and no bubbles in the well, confused and interesting at the same time. This leads me to believe any split is between the house and the well.
@@arctic-rebel Two days ago I had an issue with a well on one of my rental properties turned out something chewed through half of the power wire under ground. I had to put in 100ft of new wire.
Is it possible to slide another pipe through the existing pipe or is that just a pipe dream. That well has been a thorn in your back side, I remember when you did all that work last year and I remember you are on a tight budget. Good luck and may you find the problem,Godspeed.
I wish, the internal bore is 25mm, just not enough to be able to act as a sleeve otherwise it would be an easy fix. It may still be depending on what I find in the well. Thank you, have a great weekend.
I wonder if it's a combination of a bad foot valve and a hump in the line. That would explain why you can't prime it and why it only takes ~2L at a time. Although, as I'm sure you've noticed in life as well, that thing you really don't want to do, in this case digging up the entire line, is probably the only solution. Well, other than telling them to buy a bucket and a rope for the well :)
I was thinking long the same lines as you, the pipe rising can never be good for back filling it initially. I have to deal with the foot valve first and that will just leave the pipe.
Did you plug the other end where you come out from under the floor? I would dig up where it comes out from under and plug it. That way you would be certain. I’m not getting your explanation, maybe it’s just me. Watching from Panama City Florida,USA. 🇺🇸🦅 If you hit gold, the Hell with the leak. Just cut it and plug it before it goes out, then test it.
The fun never ends 😂 -40 and a well ? Glad it’s you not me Sr.😊

They do have a meter to find moisture, we’ve used them to find leaks in roofs. But I wouldn’t think that’s an option.
Thank you, I will start with the well and go from there. If that fails we can all guess where the leak will be!
Good job. I think your village needs a mini digger on your fleet. 🙂👍

I do like the 24 hours of daylight even if I am not working.
🤠👍 Your struggling reminds me ( Ask me not Why) of Harry Belafonte & Odetta and the sång ”There is a hole in my bucket .”🥴
Stay safe, Take care.
Now you mention it, that is exactly what it is like. LOL brilliant thank you.
Thanks Simon, village and residence are lucky to have you.
Thank you Mark, just working my way though each day. Although thy seem to be getting longer!

Use your air compressor to pressurize the line and listen for the leak.

Great way to find a leak! Simon Perfect explaination.
Thanks 👍
I had same problem in the spring at a friends place.
How did you solve it, or what did you find?
Send me a piece of that pirate oops I mean gold😂
I am ashamed to say what you sent me is still in my pan waiting my attention.

P.S.- my brain thinks Imperial and Fahrenheit.
The end where it exits the floor in the cellar has a valve and can be turn off to test that exact issue.
