- The OnePlus Nord N10 5G is here - and for £329 it's £50 less than the regular OnePlus Nord. But with an LCD screen and slower processor - is it worth paying the extra for the Nord?

It's quite obvious that N10 and Nord are meant for 2 different types of users. The N10 has the rear fingerprint scanner, headphone jack, microSD card slot and stereo speakers. Quite a lot of users value these features more than the Nord's lack of these. It's quite possible that this will be a best seller for them... IMHO.
So as stated earlier. Stores in the US including Amazon are only getting the OnePlus Nord N10 5g. This is probably why they came out with it.
In the US the Nord at $400 would have numerous phones in competition for 5G in that price range. But at less than $300 for the N10, there are far fewer competitors at 5g.
Budget phones have come a long way OnePlus really deserves the credit for influencing the market with budget phones...props to them for even influencing Apple, Google and Samsung whom only retaliated to how OnePlus, Oppo and Xiamo proved you can get quality for budget pricing.
I run the Nord N10 5G and I switched from a Samsung A20 so it's a massive upgrade for me and feels like a flagship phone for the most part
Playing videogames on the n10 is fucking awesome
How the the reception
What if I turn off Smart 5G
bro my Samsung a20 broke and I got this too
Picture quality if major influence for me, other than the stabilisation feature (which was very good), I actually preferred the stills on the N10, I know! I was surprised too. Thanks Tom.
Headphone jack is more important to me than an OLED. I've also never been in a situation where I've had to record a video while jogging at the same time. Maybe I will witness a crime, record it, and have to immediately run away because I'm being chased. If that happens, I'll certainly regret not buying the higher spec phone. 😅
I dont think video stability would be your first concern in that case
Yea not everyone has an interesting enough life that they need to record stuff while running. However i do think alot of people hate waiting for their headphones to charge. I'll trade an expensive camera for a headphone jack any day. And oled phones are stupid. They get burn in and who the hell watches movies on their phone?
@@joesmobody5152 yea, but who doesn’t use their phone outside, lights oleds biggest weakness imo
Although still my go to brand for any Android device, I feel like OnePlus is making confusing decisions and releasing far too many phones and models. It's diluting the brand name. They really need to keep it simple and return to releasing phones once a year. It's fine to have multiple models focused on different price points but their current line up 8t, 8, 8 pro, Nord, Nord 110 is just silly.thats 5 phones to choose from! They need to keep it simple!
The deciding factor for me was the headphone jack, idk why phone companies think that it's a good idea to remove it
Everyone has their own opinion on why, or excuse I should say. But the fact is Apple was the first company to start this. And they are the leading company so all eventually follow. I personally believe the most obvious reason is because people could use an apple phone with aftermarket audio equipment. So In order to lock you into their Apple audio products they removed the ability to connect to them. Just an opinion.
Intuitive operation, excellent display, true stereo sound. Fingerprint unlock is instant. 5G is faster than free wifi like in stores. Uses @ 3% on standby overnight, charges from 7% to 💯 in
Yessssss!!! This is coming to the US prepaid market... We finally get a decent phone outside of Apple and Samsung
I just got it and I love it!
@@he_lives_in_apineapple_und9743 That is very short
Just got it. I'm satisfied. Specially because I'm upgrading from a 6 year old LG.
Is cameras are great I show photos to my friend and they think I'm taking photos with my Google pixel 4 XL that I own and I'm like nope and I love the battery optimization the battery life is great on this phone and the hapctic feedback when you text is awesome too also in the video of the guy said the haptic feedback feels a bit cheap I don't understand why they don't change the happy feedback to a setting that's preferable to their needs I lower the haptic feedback as far as the vibration and it feels like I'm typing on a Google pixel phone or when I just touching buttons
I just got it a couple of weeks ago and it's actually pretty good the only problem is that I'm not used to the emojis 🤣
My OnePlus 7 Pro will stay in my pocket for quite some time. In my opinion it was slightly ahead of its time. By not upgrading to something like the 8T the only real tradeoff I make is 5G, which is basically non existent in my country and not usable without a 5G dataplan, wireless charging which I wanted for a long time but I have gotten used to plugging in my phone in the morning, unplugging it after breakfast&shower. I barely take selfies, if I do it's for snapchat where quality doesn't matter to me meaning the mediocre motorized selfie camera is more than enough for me. We'll see wether OnePlus is going to launch a 9 Pro with a selfie camera under the screen. The day a phone with 5G, underscreen camera and wireless charging launches will be the day I retire my 7 Pro. Thank you for coming to my ted talk.
I fricken love it, especially the selfie camera. The display is sublime. took some time to get used to the weight and size but I'm down and I love the feel of it now
Ur welcome
Well, we're only getting the N10 here in the States. All this Nord talk for months and I'm over here like....
Same with Canada.
We get the n100 in kansas
@@tristansherwood7151 that's the uber cheap model. I'm talking about the legit Nord that other parts of the world get. We get weaker versions here in the States
Yes that's why I enjoy the n10. I'm in the states and its great
Iam loosing my interest in OnePlus brand I'll look elsewhere probably pixel 4a
Same, I went from a Nexus 6P to a Oneplus 5 to a Oneplus 7pro, but the next phone I pickup might not be with them anymore
yeah they're turning into a shit show

I just bought one and I love it. Went in for the Google pixel line and ended up falling in love with this one.

Are there any LCD Display Light Leaks, or Screen Bleed? And how is the Vibrancy of the Display as well.
Thank you✌️
I just switched to The One+ brand, picking up my N 10 today after work. T-Mobile,....Being a musician I like the stereo speakers and headphone jack, however, the camera seems better on the other phone from your comparisons. The N 10 is so far the least expensive 5G I have seen here in USA.....Thanks for a great review👍🏻👍🏻
Not even 3mins in and I’m thinking, “that’s a lot of compromise to save $50” Yikes.
A lot of upside as well. I'd rather have the N10 even if they were priced the same.
Its now in sale at the same price as n100 where i live, it makes much more sense at that price point compared to nord. Nord100 is crappy still.
Now there is a £90 in the UK
There is around a 200$ difference where I live
They are following HTC's footsteps. Churning out senseless models without any clear direction. If they don't wake up, they will be down under soon.
OxygenOS is the main swlling point of oneplus, nobody comes close, except Goog itself. They wont fail

I just purchased the N10 maybe 3 weeks ago and so far I love it. I'm not super excited about the picture quality like I thought I was going to be but all in all for what I paid I think it's a really good phone. Paid 323.00 for phone, upgrade fee, taxes, screen protector and wallet case. Right now in the US they only have the N10 and N100 forsale. I'm hoping they release more to us. Have an Amazing Week
What if I turn off Smart 5G
The n10 was 329 at the time of this video was uploaded. I bought this phone for 249. The Nord is still around the 380. So the 130 pound was a great saving. Great phone. If the Nord was going for 300 , I would have bought it. This replaced my Redmi Note 9 which had so much bloatware it had to go back to Amazon.
same! i just bought my nord 10 for 246 while the cheapest nord i could get would be 385 so its a really worth deal :)
How about mobile performance and camera quality and display i am planing to buy let me know thanks
Great comparison! Thank you! I solved to myself what to choose
nice comparison of the video taking with both devices...
in normal pictures the nord is a bit better than the n10, but in the video, they are like day and night difference. i was quite amazed at how much of a difference there was.
In the latest offer of 11.11 the price difference is 115$, which is quite good option along with headphone jack, stereo double speaker, 65MP camera Etc.... So I sold my oneplus nord and purchased OnePlus Nord N10.... Waiting for it to arrive....
The 50$ seem to be a very good investment to me. OLED alone is an argument for that.
that big chin is just disgusting
Yes but if you want 256gb and you already have a micro sd card the difference is €/$150 so in this (my) case the n10 looks more interesting.
@@OrlandoEeckhout never, I'd rather have "32gb" nord 😂😂
Update I have read that the n10 only gets one major android update 10->11 + only 2 years of safety updates so that changes the whole thing.
For 50 dollar extra u get AMOLED, fingerprint display, 2 selfie cameras one ultrawide, better chip. Definitely worth paying extra for the Nord
Edit: I forgot the famous alert slider too
Tom, at 0:08 what's the make/model is the monitor behind you?
I noticed yours is aswell on the Nord. But my question is why is the Google Widget a gray now instead of being black?
Amazing unboxing and hands on review as always Sir
Nice video. I like OnePlus and use a OnePlus 6, but I would go for the Nord instead of the Nord N10 or N100 =D
You can now get the n10 on Amazon U.K. for £248. Pretty great price.
I upgraded my Stylo 4 phone to the N10 yesterday because metro didn't have the Stylo 6 in stock which it was original plan to upgrade to. I'm also new to the OnePlus brand so I don't know anything about these phones but so far I like it, the sound, video and picture quality is such a better improvement from my old phone.
I was looking over the N10 to get as an upgrade from my Stylo 4 (at Metro as well). Thanks for your thoughts.
Wow 3 people that used the Stylo 4 are now using OnePlus, was looking into the LG v60 until i realized that LG is now discontinued I just got this one instead
How's the battery so far?
What if I turn off Smart 5G
Thanks for the information. I just today gained the N10 for free when I switched to Metro pcs plus free amazon prime and free youtube google music. Your video sold me on it. It's the headphone jack and the stereo speakers for me. Everything else is manageable and I did mention FREE.
Exactly I got mine from metro too for free and I love it!!!!
@@alsimmons9975 where from
@@BoomBoom-kz9bp metro by t-mobile it's free if you port your number over
Exactly
Lol I switched to metro and had to pay 150 for mine. Which planet sells that phone free?
Turn off the haptics. Makes it more snappy when typing.
Why didn't you bring up the pro gaming mode or the fact that vibe can be stop with silent mode and do not disturb?
Nord was their first lower-priced device and I reckon they under-estimated the missing stereo speakers and headphone jack on that and hence included in Nord N10. Need to see where OnePlus is going for future releases.
I personally dont really care abt those things, but honestly you should include a headphone jack in a 400€ phone, since i'd say most ppl on this price point wont have wireless headphones
Okay but where do I find the Nord. They do not even have it listed on their website
Better off getting the pixel 4a instead of the nord n10.
yes 10x better decision
Alot better overall
the 4a is more expensive than the nord where i live...
not to mention the n10 :D
Screen size does matter a lot as well.
The 4a is disgusting
Is there WiFi calling?
Is the call sound quality good?
Can people hear you well during calls?
Great video! Disappointed in Oneplus... I had the Oneplus 2 and that's still going strong for my mom now but after the OP7 I've lost interest in the brand.
With 5G not really making an impact in the UK yet and the removal of Huawei hardware from the networks slowing things down further and making 5G more expensive for the network providers, I think 4G will go strong for many more years... And there are some nice outgoing 4G phones to be had for the money of a mediocre 5G phone. (£500 for a new Note20 for instance)
It hasn't been announced in India, but I guess it won't be long before it releases here.
I have to admit that I really liked the look of this phone, i think that it's even looks more appealing than nord and latest op flagship phone.
Ironically, I'm even preferring oxygen os 10 with the clean software from latest OFF makeover op did.
6:47 One thing you'll notice...
Is far more yellow whites.
Fans of LCD will always win here. More vivid color schemes on AMLOD but less authentic, natural looks...
Just saying. I'm still not die-hard sided but I like better black and white palettes so...
And slower panel swipe speed. Then I can control it. The zip on the other is upsetting with me always having five panels open and seeming to always need the middle one. 🤔 Thank you for reading
I have a question if you see this... I have been running the N10 for a couple years now, and have been considering switching to a Galaxy S24, would it really be much of an upgrade or am I better off sticking with my N10? My N10 is still in brand new condition so its not that I "need" to upgrade, just wondering if its worth swapping to go to the S24 or not? I can do an upgrade via T-Mobile offer.
Nothing interesting here just a Oppo phone with a oneplus logo
@Ya Sh yes but they always change something between the models. They put a better screen, put the alert slider. Sometimes better chips and quality for less money. This is a literal oppo phone with oxygen os slapped onto it.
OxygenOS is the payment point for any OP phone
It's all chinese junk.
Would go for the Nord... however, the closest we got across the pond in Yankee Land is the N10. Still not sure why it was never brought over. When it came out, American's reviewed it. Many claimed it to be the top mid-range to beat. However, they'd always ended their reviews, "...and if you live here in the States, you'll likely never see these on store shelves"
Good review. Do a 90-day review. Or however long- 60 day, 6 month review. I'm deciding between this and the pixel 4a. I like to have a very nice/clear screen, like AMOLED.
I'd consider the new OnePlus Nord 10 an entry level OnePlus phone for those on a tight budget. I'd probably go for the proper Nord anyway, but being a OP6 user I can confirm it still a very decent phone for what it is. And the old good headphone jack is also a good addition 👍 But maybe it should be a bit cheaper though
I've had my N10 for 2 weeks now. It is bad ass. Speed, camera and 5G and warp charge make it a great phone for $300 USD.
what service? i have TMobile same phone the n10 and it blows. the 5G is more like 3G no cap
I think I would want the nord n10. I mean oled is nice but not a deal maker on a phone. I like that the n10 has a headphone Jack, stereo speakers, and really seems to be pretty close in quality to the nord. Great review!
Watching this on my oneplus nord10. So far so great.
Good comparison video👍👍
Congratulations you are going to get 1 million subscribers
Should I still get this now (06/2022) over a Xiaomi Note 11?
I live in the US, so choosing between these 2 was pretty darned easy, lol. But seriously, I have the N10 and it is, by far, the best experience I've ever had with a smartphone. And again, at least in the US, the amount of phone that you get for 299 USD is pretty much unrivaled at this time.
What if I turn off Smart 5G
Looks like on 'OnePlus Official' aliexpress store you can get it quite cheaply around £260ish at the moment delivered from Europe (no UK charger though). Still, The OG Nord is also cheaper that way so doesn't really make sense!
If only we could buy the original Nord her in the usa. Damn it, I just bought the N10 and now I'm worried. Got it because my friend had the Mclaren edition, and it was amazing, so I had a lot of faith in the brand. Now after watching more reviews than I did after I purchased it... well, it has a 15 day return policy, so I guess I can go to BestBuy and play with the Pixel 4a and see how I like them side by side.
Just got one and Im happy with it so far love the fast charge, prefer it over the Motorola ace
Same I got mines prefer this phone then the motorola
Thanks for the info I need a phone for the SD slot and I guess I'll do N10 unless I can find a little better for not much more $.
The N10 is £280 at the moment, so nearly £100 cheaper and has a headphone jack. But now I've seen the picture and video quality difference I'm really torn!
Would it be a better option to just get the 8 instead of the n10 just based on memory and ram.
Awesome stuff! New subscriber here!
Ah Tom I think the saying goes more expensive things aren't always better...
I think it’s smart because a lot of people can’t afford high priced phones so making a cheaper version is a good idea
It's only $50 cheaper
@@VaunShiz yeah but some ppl may not have enough for the nord but they might have enough for the n10 either that or they live in the US, lmaoo
For the amount of smartphone company’s who have their phones priced at 1000 plus it’s no difference to pay the extra £50 for a better screen. Take the iPhone 10 and the XR for example. Both this phones are very similar but people normally picked the normal 10 because of the difference of LCD and OLED. The price gap I think was £250 and the only other difference between them was the normal 10 had a telephoto camera
N10 so far has a good audio recording.
Well let's not forget since this video came out the Nord N10 has dropped in price significantly, i was just looking and came here for a review and it's £229 vs £360 for the Nord, so.. a 130 quid difference for an oled screen and a better camera seems a lot of money.
Think I'll be getting the N10 for £229 or might even go full budget and get the N100 as just broke my Nokia 5.3, still got an oppo a53 for 90 quid which has been a bargain.
HUGE improvement compared to what we normally get in a phone at this pricerange in the US.
The Galaxy A35 was better and it's junk too
Where did u get that mandalorin wallpaper can u get it for Samsung s10plus
How about the display? They have the nord n10 for $69.99 so after taxes , activation and a monthly service payment of $50 they said it was $194 with a free case and screen protector ..
The nord is around $420 on eBay after taxes , is this worth the ammoLED display? That is one factor along with the extra ram and better processor , thoughts ?
I don't think the N10 is worth it, for an extra £50 you might as well get the regular Nord
Enjoy that mono speaker
Very good review comment from India down south
Again thank you for showing excellent affordable phone, you can buy..
I want to replace my OnePlus 3, because it has been bent for a year or so and the screen is coming off. Sadly the newer phones do not have a headphone jack, that's why I am considering getting the N10.
Good review mate !
The one plus nord isn’t sold in the U.S I think they still wanted to offer an even cheaper model GLOBALY
So weird to me that the regular Nord won in every category of the camera tests except the selfies in my opinion (with the Nord N10). PS. I already made an order for the N10 and are just now looking for videos about the phone, but I kinda trust OnePlus as a phone by default because of experience and I got a good deal from my operator. The N10 I ordered was 268,11£ from my operator against the regular Nord that was 357,79£ here in Finland. I did the exchanges for you already so you have a better grasp on the price.
Edit: to me the the 100€ difference is enough to get this phone rather then the regular Nord. Even tho... It is always nicer to have BETTER. :D
I don't know if you've used a OnePlus from last year and see how they've been supported but software shouldn't be a selling point of this device
Lol, just bought this phone yesterday xD. It ain't that bad honestly, but I definitely get the vibrations being weird when you text. Other than that it seems pretty solid. Idk how much the regular Nord is in the US, but I got this phone for like 200 bucks which ain't that bad really. Seems like a pretty good phone for the price.
Edit: Just checked the prices on the other phones, damn did I get a deal. Apparently the regular Nord is like 400 to a little over 500 dollars. I honestly think it's worth it if you're upgrading to a new phone at Metro.
Just upgraded to the N10. I really like it. I've never used a 1+ phone and I'm very satisfied.
Oneplus Nord was not available in lots of markets unless through secondary retailers which have shady warranty practices. For a large market oneplus nord N10 5g and N100 is the first nord officially available to them.
that chin is a deal breaker honestly.
It's funny how some people criticise the small chin and still buying the iPhone SE in 2020 😆

@Thetechchap Would Nord N10 be a good buy in 2023 and onwards....
Seen an offer for the N10 with wireless headphones for £279, is that worth it? It's for my mum.
notice the lag in animation on the N10 at 7:08
Apparently they are just two speakers, but not stereo.
It sucks that they dont put alot of interest to the os and its just not speacials as the others
Some facts. This phone was released with one of the most obnoxious vibrate sounds. Playing active games like call of duty mobile, or FF7FS, this phone starts to overheat very fast within an hour and you can feel the heat in the camera area (when you attach bluetooth controller). Especially if you try and charge and play. This is not unusual with some of the mobile games that have been released recently requiring more and more to run. But the phone will automatically reduce the screen brightness (really unnoticeable) until the phone cools back down which I found pretty cool. This is all shown in notifications. So it didn't pose a serious issue. The default user interface is not as user friendly as others. I've had a hard time getting certain windows to do certain things like close. The speaker setup is cool that it pushes out the front, but it's not the greatest for some games. It sounds excellent for something like a movie, but most games your going to opt for aftermarket headphones. Perhaps a sound equalizer app might actually help that issue I get with to high treble on game. With that said I have been very satisfied with this phone and the graphics as well as refresh rate for me are more than acceptable for the value.
Update: the more I use this phone then more I realize it's junk. It always overheats. It freezes up and literally stops working when I try and run a headset and controller on Bluetooth and it starts getting hot. Black screens can't turn back on. I could keep going on. But honestly you can claim this phone is good all your want I'm telling people it's junk. If you're buying it for playing games on, it's junk. Oh also found out I have to get a new phone today simply because of this. Nord doesn't support video out because of USB 2.0. The Snapdragon supports USB 3.1 and display out, but OnePlus decided to use USB 2.0 didn't even use it for more than a couple months.
New updated. Android 11 update causes the phone to go to the lowest setting on brightness and you cannot change it. If you're outside it is so dark you cannot see the screen. The only resolution is to restart your phone. Don't believe me Google it. This phone is junk.
@D. R. Thank you for your response I will have to see if my phone has factory issue maybe.
Update: I love how you say that you never had this issue as if it doesn't exist. Google it. Everyone has this issue. The phone is junk. Hey btw if you're going to remove your comment because it was B.S. you should remove this B.S. propaganda video.
I acutally just bought the N10 to replace my Honor 9 which served my quite well over its 4 years. Its still working fine but no longer up to date. I guess ill update this as i use it
