  • The OnePlus Nord N10 5G is here - and for £329 it's £50 less than the regular OnePlus Nord. But with an LCD screen and slower processor - is it worth paying the extra for the Nord?

It's quite obvious that N10 and Nord are meant for 2 different types of users. The N10 has the rear fingerprint scanner, headphone jack, microSD card slot and stereo speakers. Quite a lot of users value these features more than the Nord's lack of these. It's quite possible that this will be a best seller for them... IMHO.

So as stated earlier. Stores in the US including Amazon are only getting the OnePlus Nord N10 5g. This is probably why they came out with it.
In the US the Nord at $400 would have numerous phones in competition for 5G in that price range. But at less than $300 for the N10, there are far fewer competitors at 5g.

Budget phones have come a long way OnePlus really deserves the credit for influencing the market with budget phones...props to them for even influencing Apple, Google and Samsung whom only retaliated to how OnePlus, Oppo and Xiamo proved you can get quality for budget pricing.

Headphone jack is more important to me than an OLED. I've also never been in a situation where I've had to record a video while jogging at the same time. Maybe I will witness a crime, record it, and have to immediately run away because I'm being chased. If that happens, I'll certainly regret not buying the higher spec phone. 😅

Although still my go to brand for any Android device, I feel like OnePlus is making confusing decisions and releasing far too many phones and models. It's diluting the brand name. They really need to keep it simple and return to releasing phones once a year. It's fine to have multiple models focused on different price points but their current line up 8t, 8, 8 pro, Nord, Nord 110 is just silly.thats 5 phones to choose from! They need to keep it simple!

  • @Aidan2

Everyone has their own opinion on why, or excuse I should say. But the fact is Apple was the first company to start this. And they are the leading company so all eventually follow. I personally believe the most obvious reason is because people could use an apple phone with aftermarket audio equipment. So In order to lock you into their Apple audio products they removed the ability to connect to them. Just an opinion.

My OnePlus 7 Pro will stay in my pocket for quite some time. In my opinion it was slightly ahead of its time. By not upgrading to something like the 8T the only real tradeoff I make is 5G, which is basically non existent in my country and not usable without a 5G dataplan, wireless charging which I wanted for a long time but I have gotten used to plugging in my phone in the morning, unplugging it after breakfast&shower. I barely take selfies, if I do it's for snapchat where quality doesn't matter to me meaning the mediocre motorized selfie camera is more than enough for me. We'll see wether OnePlus is going to launch a 9 Pro with a selfie camera under the screen. The day a phone with 5G, underscreen camera and wireless charging launches will be the day I retire my 7 Pro. Thank you for coming to my ted talk.

I'd consider the new OnePlus Nord 10 an entry level OnePlus phone for those on a tight budget. I'd probably go for the proper Nord anyway, but being a OP6 user I can confirm it still a very decent phone for what it is. And the old good headphone jack is also a good addition 👍 But maybe it should be a bit cheaper though

I live in the US, so choosing between these 2 was pretty darned easy, lol. But seriously, I have the N10 and it is, by far, the best experience I've ever had with a smartphone. And again, at least in the US, the amount of phone that you get for 299 USD is pretty much unrivaled at this time.

Looks like on 'OnePlus Official' aliexpress store you can get it quite cheaply around £260ish at the moment delivered from Europe (no UK charger though). Still, The OG Nord is also cheaper that way so doesn't really make sense!

If only we could buy the original Nord her in the usa. Damn it, I just bought the N10 and now I'm worried. Got it because my friend had the Mclaren edition, and it was amazing, so I had a lot of faith in the brand. Now after watching more reviews than I did after I purchased it... well, it has a 15 day return policy, so I guess I can go to BestBuy and play with the Pixel 4a and see how I like them side by side.

For the amount of smartphone company’s who have their phones priced at 1000 plus it’s no difference to pay the extra £50 for a better screen. Take the iPhone 10 and the XR for example. Both this phones are very similar but people normally picked the normal 10 because of the difference of LCD and OLED. The price gap I think was £250 and the only other difference between them was the normal 10 had a telephoto camera

Well let's not forget since this video came out the Nord N10 has dropped in price significantly, i was just looking and came here for a review and it's £229 vs £360 for the Nord, so.. a 130 quid difference for an oled screen and a better camera seems a lot of money.
Think I'll be getting the N10 for £229 or might even go full budget and get the N100 as just broke my Nokia 5.3, still got an oppo a53 for 90 quid which has been a bargain.

So weird to me that the regular Nord won in every category of the camera tests except the selfies in my opinion (with the Nord N10). PS. I already made an order for the N10 and are just now looking for videos about the phone, but I kinda trust OnePlus as a phone by default because of experience and I got a good deal from my operator. The N10 I ordered was 268,11£ from my operator against the regular Nord that was 357,79£ here in Finland. I did the exchanges for you already so you have a better grasp on the price.
Edit: to me the the 100€ difference is enough to get this phone rather then the regular Nord. Even tho... It is always nicer to have BETTER. :D

Idk how much the regular Nord is in the US, but I got this phone for like 200 bucks which ain't that bad really. Seems like a pretty good phone for the price.
Edit: Just checked the prices on the other phones, damn did I get a deal. Apparently the regular Nord is like 400 to a little over 500 dollars. I honestly think it's worth it if you're upgrading to a new phone at Metro.

Some facts. This phone was released with one of the most obnoxious vibrate sounds. Playing active games like call of duty mobile, or FF7FS, this phone starts to overheat very fast within an hour and you can feel the heat in the camera area (when you attach bluetooth controller). Especially if you try and charge and play. This is not unusual with some of the mobile games that have been released recently requiring more and more to run. But the phone will automatically reduce the screen brightness (really unnoticeable) until the phone cools back down which I found pretty cool. This is all shown in notifications. So it didn't pose a serious issue. The default user interface is not as user friendly as others. I've had a hard time getting certain windows to do certain things like close. The speaker setup is cool that it pushes out the front, but it's not the greatest for some games. It sounds excellent for something like a movie, but most games your going to opt for aftermarket headphones. Perhaps a sound equalizer app might actually help that issue I get with to high treble on game. With that said I have been very satisfied with this phone and the graphics as well as refresh rate for me are more than acceptable for the value.
Update: the more I use this phone then more I realize it's junk. It always overheats. It freezes up and literally stops working when I try and run a headset and controller on Bluetooth and it starts getting hot. Black screens can't turn back on. I could keep going on. But honestly you can claim this phone is good all your want I'm telling people it's junk. If you're buying it for playing games on, it's junk. Oh also found out I have to get a new phone today simply because of this. Nord doesn't support video out because of USB 2.0. The Snapdragon supports USB 3.1 and display out, but OnePlus decided to use USB 2.0 didn't even use it for more than a couple months.
New updated. Android 11 update causes the phone to go to the lowest setting on brightness and you cannot change it. If you're outside it is so dark you cannot see the screen. The only resolution is to restart your phone. Don't believe me Google it. This phone is junk.
