    I love the guaranteed 3 year of updates on Pixel.
    But I hate AMOLED displays because I play a lot of games with static UI elements and burn-in is still a thing. A high refresh rate IPS is great for gaming. Combined with OxygenOS vs stock Android, I'd lean in the direction of the OnePlus. I don't keep phones long enough to really take advantage of the update policy, but I do wish the OnePlus would get OxygenOS 12. Either way, I went OnePlus.

    Great review Mathew. I chop and change my phones quite often and have found less of a need to spend silly money on a phone for features I don’t need or hardly use. I looked at both phones your reviewing and a few Chinese brands like xiaomi but ultimately went with the pixel 4a. My reasoning for this choice was because I previously had a pixel 3a and looking back through the photos app at my pics I found the best ones were captured on the pixel. I have had iPhones Samsung’s oneplus etc so that’s saying something. Pixel 4a is the perfect size with great battery life fantastic loud stereo speakers beautiful Amoled screen etc. Having 3 years of software updates makes you know your phone will last and being built by google the company that make the os has shown to get the best optimisation out of them.
    I think the oneplus is nice but in today’s market it’s sometimes not enough. Simplicity wins here and I’d choose the pixel every time.

    The OnePlus N10 5G phone is really a great phone for it's price one thing that phone has that I really truly appreciated was the fast Warp charging I do a lot of deliveries for my job and to get home and plug it in and the phone was fully charged in 30 mins ready for me to go on another run again this phone is amazing and a true money maker. I recently sold it and got a Google Pixel 4A 5G and I must admit I love my google pixel more than the N10 5G but that doesn't mean the OnePlus isnt a good phone it is one of the best phones of this current time you won't believe it until you have one in your hand! The One Plus brand is almost similar to the Google Pixel interface a little bit different with more customization options! Like OnePlus Says "Never Settle" (:

      For the country where I live (which happens to be where the country where reviewer lives as per his garbage cans) It's a $100 difference between the 4a normal or a $300 difference between the 4a 5g. If you were looking for a budget 5g phone this is one of the best bang for your buck phones you can go for. If you wanted just the normal 4a the $100 is worth it but if you really wanted a cheap 5g phone this generation then it's hard to argue over $300 IMO.
      The difference between the picture and video quality is definitely noticeable comparing to pixel and flagship phones but I don't really take pictures/videos all to often.
      If i'm watching youtube or something on my phone I don't need the best quality. I'm already likely streaming it at either 720/480p to save data costs (which is what I assume people who are buying budget phones are doing as well). If I'm watching netflix i'm either on my computer or my tv.
      That's the reason why I'm still happy with my N10 5G purchase. Personally I wish I could of waited another year or when more budget 5g phones were on the market and the tech improved or became cheaper but circumstances made me have to buy a phone late last year. So don't be anxious! I plan to stick with the N10 for 3-5ish years depending on the budget 5g phone market is doing.

    @Alphafwe57 Před 3 lety

    The thing is, at least in France, the Nord 5G (the 765g one) gets regular discount to ~330€ (399€ MSRP), so IMO it's a no brainer: the nord is a better deal at this price. I feel like the 4A should be at 299 and the 4a 5G at 449. It would make more sense i guess ?
    But the Nord N10 is in a weird place for now, it's often at the same price as the nord :/

    Is not only about the headphones. I use the 3.5mm jack to connect my Huawei Mate 10 Lite to my car's sound system. I also have an old selfie stick (a gift from Samsung, indeed) and it uses the jack to fire the shooter.

      Actually it supports north American bands so is better for me than OPPO. I can't even look at all the interesting options from Xiaomi etc because they only do like two of the six bands for my carrier.

    I didn't used to care about cameras. But after using the OP6 for two years and seeing all the videos online comparing different phones, I realize now that mine is crap and actually matters to me now.
    I love everything about my OP6 except this camera. Since things won't be going back to normal for a while, I think it's fine to keep my OP6. But in about half a year to a year, even if it's still running fine, I'll be upgrading to a pixel.

    I'm guessing this video is sponsored by Google. Why would anyone pick a smaller phone? Yeah, the bezels are smaller, but EVERYTHING is smaller. Most importantly, the display is so much smaller that I wouldn't even consider carrying that thing. Its just like a modern smart phone, only smaller. Even though the OnePlus has more and better cameras, I'll still pick the Google. Wait, what??

  • @andyH_England
    @andyH_England Před 3 lety +2

    In the UK, the OP Nord is the same price as the Pixel 4a so this comparison is not really relevant as I would easily choose the Nord over the Nord N10 and also ergo the Nord over the Pixel 4a.
    The bigger display and battery, better processor and better everything TBH apart from the main camera makes the Nord an easy choice. I know YT creators crave the Pixel camera but for average consumers outside YT, the Nord will be just as good.
