I have experienced that twice. First time I became a fan of Samsung after seeing Note 8's design and after what Note 9 can do. After that I got so disappointed with Note 10 destroying every reason I loved the Note and Samsung, that is so sad. Also the same thing was with me loving Lego hero factory and Lego bionicle g2 and in the end of 2016 Lego ended constraction and ccbs as a whole, forcing me to buy old hero factory sets on eBay hunting for the best price of a sealed one or buying used.

I don't really have "brand loyalty" when it comes to phones. I generally end up getting what's best for my needs at the moment. And while there are brands that I do like, I don't feel the need to stick with them if they don't really meet my needs.
The closest I've ever come to falling in love with a brand was Lumia. I absolutely LOVED Windows Phones and I was pretty sad when they died.

It'll be interesting to see if the Hasselblad collab evolves to include camera hardware, but I'm not too worried about OP's near future since they do sell pretty well at least here in Europe. And besides, other than software updates, there's little reason for a phone owner to worry about brands anyway. You just buy whatever is the best deal when you need a new phone.

I loved ths OnePlus 5 I had. It was so good - the battery, the software, the UI and many other features most phones did not have. I used it for 2 years and my mom used it for a year before the battery life started getting bad and the phone felt very outdated. I had switched to the OnePlus 8 since I knew I was looking at a solid 3 years with the phone. After one year with the OnePlus 8 without any issues, they switched over to Color OS. I hated it. The UI was bad and the phone had all sorts of bugs. I had just moved to the US and started using 5G, but the 5G on the OnePlus was not much different from the 4G I used to get in India. I was using my Indian sim along with T-Mobile and after upgrading to Android 12, the Indian sim was not getting read in the phone. Idk what happened, but it was after the Android 12 update, and I couldn't get the sim to work. After restarting, or after an update, I was not able to receive internet on the phone through my T-Mobile sim card. I had been in a few situations when I badly needed the internet and it did not turn on. The phone storage was never read when connected to a computer. The default Gallery app showed none of the photos or videos in the storage. I had too many important files in the phone, so I could not reset the phone, nor could I create a backup since the storage couldn't be read on a computer. To my luck, T-Mobile offered a good value for trading in my OnePlus 8 and I got the iPhone 13, been happy withthe the iPhone ever since. It's true, OnePlus DID live long enough to see itself become the villain.

As stated in the video it's either a company can't sustain for a niche or branch out to the masses, regardless of what the company stood for when it first brought out a product, they're still solid phones regardless despite not quite being so.

Bruh if OnePlus added wireless charging and maybe refreshed the specs every few years and left the rest of the phone alone, I could see myself using my 7 Pro for the rest of my life.
I used to get a new phone every year, but this one is so damn good I can't imagine wanting a new one for another few years, especially given that there aren't any good all-screen phones out right now.

Yeah Marques - these videos really help. If you are older and remember when phones were things wired into the wall with receivers and rotating dials lol then you need context. Otherwise you get bewildered. My first mobile was a Nokia brick and all I wanted it to do was make phone calls. Period. My first OnePlus was a three (this one I currently use).
I was told by a computer repair guy that he found it in a box of parts. He sold it to me for NZ three hundred dollars and it has been great. Nobody had heard of the brand here. A really lovely phone.

Still using my 7Pro. Still as fast as when it was new, everything still works fine, I love the 90Hz display. Back then it was a "new thing" nowadays it's normal in the high end. My only complaints would be the round corners, ghost touches are sometimes annoying, and the size - I have very large hands but I don't see a reason why the phone should be almost tablet size.
