Beautiful country , thanks for sharing. In our mountains of Idaho, USA, we don’t dare touch a tree even if dead. Unless we need a new ski run, that’s different.
these practices are about sustainable forestry and the trees cut to use as fence material clear the stronger surrounding trees for better growth and more valuable lumber products. traditional care of the forest lands has long since disappeared in north america except by fee private owners with common sense. most forestry is about destroying the forest for money. buy huge machinery and incur huge debt then destroy more forest each year to pay the debt. stupidity at it's finest. this is a farm, privately owned i'll bet and cared for as it has been for generations. good to see that modern capitalist greed hadn't destroyed this way of life at least until the doc was filmed.
It is a demonstration of ancient way of making enclosures. Shown and filmed to not loose these old technics, wich are in my opinion so precious: any nails, no concrete, build with just what mother nature gives. Admirable knowledge of our ancestors!
