I had us going out to France in the semi's also. Croatia will be tricky. The many best 3rd teams in groups makes it a bit more difficult to predict but that said, most will probably go out in the first KO round.

Though Hungary qualified without a loss, top of their qualifying group, in many matches avoiding the loss was by the skin of their teeth. The team is better than they have been for a long time (since the 80's) but expectations have to be kept in check and a lot depends on Szoboszlai's form. Also keep in mind they only started qualifying for the Euros since 2016 since the tournament format was expanded from 16 to 24 teams. '24 is probably the first time they would have also qualified for the 16-team format, 2016 and '20 probably only because of the extra 8 places

Most realistic predictions I've seen yet. I found myself pretty much agreeing to the whole thing. Maybe I would estimate Hungary over Scotland, but thats about it. Dutchie here. I do wish we would get past Portugal on that july 5th... But we always seem to lose to them on tournaments (04, 06, 12). Really wish we had a squad like the previous generation. I generally agree with your predictions. However I don't think England will get past Italy in the QF..... Southgate is so tactically inept he will find a way to lose..... I can see us going 1-0 up dominating the game and he'll take off Foden and Bellingham and bring on Henderson and another defender. The team will then lose control of the midfield and Italy will win..... This is the Southgate doctrine.

As a dane, we definitely have the players to go decently far in this tournament. No players who are worlds class, but many top players. However, our current coach, Kasper Hjulmand, is a bit of a Southgate. Great, great player management. But tactically not up to the task, and he keeps omitting players like Phillip Billing, who is brilliant, and keeping players who unfortunately is beyond their peak, like Thomas Delaney.
I can appreciate what Thomas has done as a footballer for both club and country, but he cannot be included above Billing. It is madness.
Hjulmand has been unable to get our attacking players to score goals. And they are great. Højlund, Poulsen, Isaksen, Lindstrøm and Braithwaite are all either great players and/or in top form for their club. But we cannot acore goals. For that reason I fear Rory is right in saying that we will struggle.

I think people are sleeping on the Netherlands. If i had to guess now between Portugal - Netherlands i'd say it's a 60:40 towards the Dutch. They have an elite back line with VVD back on form, they have Frimpong who's a danger on the wing. Also Xavi Simons, Malen, de Ligt, Depay players with good quality and form.
