As an Austrian you put a big smile on my face when you predicted Austria going to the Semis, but obviously there's no denying the fact that we were drawn into a less than favorable group. The games against Netherlands and France are gonna be real tough, but I still believe that we've got what it takes to mark ourselves into this Euro competition. I've already witnessed some of the best games of Austria during Friendlies and the Qualifiers so even if we don't make it out of the group, I'll still be proud of my country and look forward to the world cup because my gut's telling me that there will be some wonderful moments ahead for Austrians. Of course, I believe in our National Team and I think they will give it their all during this magical summer and I'm more then hyped for this wonderful tournament in one of my favorite nations. Many people say that group D‘s most important game is Netherlands - Austria, but I think Austria France is way more interesting.
France is known for losing against smaller teams and Austria already beat them in the past
Die internationalen Leute haben euch überhaupt nicht auf dem Zettel. Mit Rangnick und dem RB-Stil, den bei euch jeder spielen kann seid ihr vielen großen Nationen um einiges voraus. Da braucht man gar nicht die individuellen Überspieler, wenn man ein System perfekt beherrscht. Vor 2-3 Monaten bin ich ausgelacht worden als ich gesagt habe, dass für mich England, Frankreich und Österreich die Favoriten sind.
@@adriunt6988 Super Kommentar. Vieler der aktuellen ÖFB-Kicker spielen oder haben in einem RB-Verein gespielt, das heißt diese müssen sich nicht daran anpassen. Auch jene die nicht für einen solchen Verein gespielt haben funktionieren in diesem System einbahnfrei, wie Danso und Gregoritsch. Das Team spielt super in allen Bereichen, selbst ohne Alaba, Arnautović und Sabitzer. Diese Top-Spieler sind zwar eine wunderbare Bereicherung und sind unsere besten Spieler, aber wir haben oft genug bewiesen das wir auch super ohne diese Stars gegen teilweise Top-Mannschaften gut performen. Natürlich ist die Mannschaft nicht Perfekt, aber Ich finde, wie bereits gesagt, dass wir das Zeug haben in dieser EM zu zeigen was wir drauf haben. Wir müssen uns nicht vor den Top-Nationen zu fürchten.

They dominated France, but France wasnt even giving 70% of what they can. And lets not forget they scored an early goal, which usually gives any team some kind of a boost up. Like last year in september - against France.

Serbia and Poland are brothers of the international stage competitions. Everybody looks at their players and think they've got some ballers, then you actually watch them play and they've got no cohesion whatsoever and exit at the group stage.

I think you're underestimating Belgium a bit. They completed their qualifying campaign unbeaten and played almost the entire campaign without kdb and Courtois. Tedesco has also been doing well in trying to integrate the upcoming generation. The midfield and attack are still really good, it's just the defense that's a problem but guys like Debast en De winter seem really promising. Casteels and Sels seem to be also doing fine in goal now that Courtois has declared he won't play in euro's.

Fair prediction, I would say as an England fan that we would struggle playing against Italy, Croatia or France so wouldn’t take us to beat Italy and France in a row.
My final would be Germany vs France, with France winning, although that’s a pretty standard prediction, the tournament will play out different in reality.
There will be a “dark horse” semi finalist team similar to wales before, Denmark, etc.
That dark horse in your case is Austria, so it makes sense

I wouldn’t rule out Georgia 100%, they’re obviously one of the weaker teams but the passion they’ll have with it being their first euros can’t be underestimated, they might not qualify but I could definitely see them pulling off a shock in their group, if they go out they’ll go out swinging.

i think Belgium is being underestimated at this moment. Yes the big famous players are retired from the national team and the ones that still play are over their top but there are many top level talents that are maybe a bit too young and inexperienced at this point. So at one side you have ambitious young talents and next to them you have Lukaku, De Bruyne, Vertonghen, ... i think this could be the perfect mix of good experienced older players and young blood. If players like De Bruyne guide these young ones it could end up to be the perfect formula. On top of this is the fact that now there is no pressure at all. previous big events it was always "the perfect chance for the golden generation". now they can go there and say we are underdogs we will see what it brings. personally i give them more chance to win this EC and even next WC potentially than ever before. A lot will depend on their current form ofcourse. If De Bruyne suffers from injuries it's game over against the Netherlands. But normally i would say 75/25 to win against them.

Hungary are undefeated for 14 games now, havnt lost a game since Szobo has been captain. They beat and tied Germany in their last 3 encounters and beat England back to back one time being 0-4 in England. They beat Serbia back to back also last year. Scotland started their qualifying strong but have been on a decline since beating Spain and the Swiss are not preforming as well as previous years. I think Germany will top the group being the host nation but I'd say Hungary will end 2nd with Scotland 3rd and the Swiss last.

I respect Fiago for his descision and I think Germany are gonna win the Euros. Nagelsmann is a whole different coach were not the Germany team we were in the 2022 world cup. We did lose some friendlies in 2023 but Nagelsmann was just appointed sooooo. We won France 2-1 and 2-0 so we do have a chance against them in the Euros.

Austria has a great team! But i do think you're underestimating Netherlands a bit. They haven't gotten the chance to put up their most optimal performance yet, due to a LOT of injuries. They had 13(!) injuries in their first match against France and 12(!) in the second match against France. Right now, due to the squad upgrade from 23 to 26, I think they have one of the best squads of this Euro. Look at their young team: Maatsen, Van de Ven, Frimpong, New keeper Flekken, Xavi Simmons, Summerville, Koopmeiners, Reijnders, Gravenberch, Gakpo and the list goes on. If they can play as a team at the Euro's I think they will really put up a fight! Good luck!

Fiago I saw you on TV just a few days ago!! As part of the pre-Euro programmes where they showed the stadium in Dusseldorf. I can't wait for the Euros because the last tournaments hosted in Germany were extraordinary and the unpredictability of international football is a welcome break from watching Man City, Real Madrid and Inter winning 90% of the games they play.
P.S: Though your assessment is much fairer than what I've seen on other channels, I disagree slightly with your evaluation of Italy. The trend of the last 15 years or so is clear: Italy are awful at the World Cup, but mostly solid and often even overperforming at the Euros. 2012 and 2016 particularly, everybody saw them heading for the disaster but they went much further than expected. Since 2000 we're talking about just 1 year - 2004 - when they didn't qualify from the group stage. And their record over the period stands at W 16 D 11 L 4, I'd like to see who has got a better record (if you do the same exercise over 2012-21 the record is even better, only Spain and Ireland beat them).

I don’t think that you should underestimate Belgium. Yes, they no longer have star players like Hazard or Kompany, but they still possess a lot of quality. They have players like Doku, Trossard, Tielemans, Openda, and even KDB, who are really in their prime right now. I’m not saying that they are going to win the Euros, but I don’t think they will be eliminated in the round of 16 just because they’re not in their ‘golden generation’ anymore.
Switzerland are my dark horses. They've got players all over the pitch having incredible seasons in the leagues they play. Xhaka, Sommer/ Kobel, Akanji etc
