I would even go so far to say Xhaka is probably Switzerland's best player. He has been pivotal for Bayer Leverkusen this season.

Kvara was an obvious selection, but you named honorable mentions for many countries where there was no real competition or every single player you named were lower level players, so, it's a bit strange that you didn't give an honorable mention to Giorgi Mamardashvili, who is one of the best goalkeepers in the world right now. With his amazing performances he is leading Valencia to possibly returning to Europe and he was definitely the main guy against Greece.
Or Jodi Jones for Malta, 5 goals and 23 assists in 41 league games for notts county this season.

Granit Xhaka is Switzerland best and most important player alongside Shaqiri. Kobel has been injured for 8 games this season, and often before or during international breaks. Nevertheless, this should have been Xhaka, especially as he led Leverkusen to their first title ever in Bundesliga. Odd choice Alfie, but I suppose you are not a big follower of the Bundesliga or/and the Swiss national team.

I would like to see a video on former countries with modern national teams. As in which current players would represent teams like East Germany, Soviet Union, Yugoslavia, Bavara, Austria-Hungary, the French Empire, Prussia etc

Austria- Hungary currently would basically be Austria + Orban and Szoboszlai. Maybe Gulasci if he finds his form again (he's currently awful for Leipzig) and maybe also Sallai.

Great video Alfie. Two small corrections regarding the segment on Greece:
29:18 Donis has never coached the Greek NT. The manager of the last campaigns was Gustavo Poyet.
In the playoff final against Georgia, both teams were playing with 11 players. The red card was given to the outfield substitute Georgian goalkeeper Loria for something that happened between the two benches.
PS. In my opinion, Pavlidis is a good pick but he has not performed well with the NT. In contrast, the best performer of the last campaigns has been Bakasetas (NT captain). Probably the best footballer player in terms of talent is Fortounis (which is no longer playing with the NT)

29:20. Pavlidis has been straight up a$$ for the national team. And he contributes much less to the team's build up than Ioannidis, who is a tank (and imo, will surpass Pavlidis in the future, and I say this as an Olympiakos fan).
Ok....a couple things.
Giorgos Donis isn't Greece manager, not yet at least. Gus Poyet recently left the job.
Also Pavlidis didn't play a minute for Poyet bc he "didnt fit his style".
Also I would've at least nominated Kostas Fortounis in there as he is the best Greek player of his generation despite retiring for the national team and Fotis Ioannidis who is the starting striker for Greece and is having an excellent season for Panathinaikos.

Hi Alfie. Where would you get the idea from that Mads Boe Mikkelsen is the best player of the Faroe Islands? That seems a bit random. Currently, Jóannes Bjartalíð, Brandur Hendriksson Olsen, Jóan Símun Edmunsson, Jákup Andreassen, Adrian Justinussen, Árni Frederiksberg, Hallur Hansson (although he hasn’t played for a long time), Sølvi Vatnhamar, Peter Knudsen, Páll Klettskarð, Viljormur Davidsen and René Shaki Joensen are all better players with more international experience. Again, where did you get the information from that Mads would be better than these?

I love your channel (in fact, this is my absolute favorite football channel) and greatly appreciate your great analytical skills, humor, knowledge (of the game and in general) etc.
I do have one remark on this clip, regarding the best Swiss player at the moment (and I would argue at least of the past two seasons). It seems to me that you forgot about Granit Xhaka, who Mikel Arteta shaped into a mature leader at Arsenal and who has been crucial to Xabi Alonso’s Leverkusen Bundesliga title this season. No disrespect to Kobel or Sommer, who both played great seasons with their respective clubs, but Xhaka tops them by far, in my opinion.

Sommer is chasing records in Italy & is by far the better goalkeeper atm and Xhaka is Xabi Alonso's reincarnation on the pitch. Only Topps made it worse by picking Okafor as the Star Player!!
