    Slamming the knocked out thugs in number 9 may not look useful, but I figured this out on my own while doing AR challenges and it is actually useful for extending your combo and giving you time to think about your next move mid-combat without losing your combo (you can't get hit while doing the slam!)

    • @CrimsonKnight77
      @CrimsonKnight77 Před 5 měsíci +35

      It also helps if you weren't expecting a strike to knock out an enemy. If you knock them down, that slam move might save you from messing up your combo. Though, in my experience, pressing the pick-up buttons without there being a valid target is usually safe so long as you don't spend too long on it.

    Another mechanic that's never really mentioned to my knowledge is that if you hold the grapple button as you grapple you'll hang from the ledge that you grappled to. I've been playing these games for years and never could understand why sometimes id hang and sometimes I would climb up, and so I never utilized the ledge takedowns for that reason.

      @RDSC_ I always thought it was hold down on the left stick too, but maybe it's by game. In knight you have to hold the rb/ r1 button. I haven't tested in city or asylum. I just know that holding the grapple button works the most consistently that I've seen. Holding down the left trigger more times than not would still have me climb up.

    You activate the cinematic glide kick by pressing R3 during it. Didn't know about the grapnels, though. Wonder if it works from other starting positions. Cinematic Batclaw is also compatible with Batclaw Super Stun and Batclaw Kick
    You can blind Cobras with the Remote Hacking Device and jam their guns with the Disruptor. I think you can also EMP them with two full bars of secondary weapon energy. What I still need to test is whether destroying them via jamming builds secondary weapon energy
    You can disrupt the drone controller's tablet to make it shock him when you hack the drone for a maximum of four simultaneous takedowns
    On KBM you can right click on the final thug in a fear chain to transition straight into a Silent Takedown and earn your fear token back. You can activate the Explosive Gel detonator during a fear chain without breaking from it. You can cancel a fear chain by pressing circle or waiting it out to use a different attack against the final target - useful for getting environmental takedowns
    You can infinitely stunlock tanky enemies by beating them down to build combo, popping a Special Combo Bat Swarm, Special Combo REC, Special Combo Whip Trip, Special Combo Staff Spin, or Nightwing's electrical shock to clear the surrounding area, then repeating the combo. For Weapon Specialists with shock gloves equipped, try Batarang, Cape Stun, repeat
    You can use Nightwing's smash attack to defend against unblockable attacks if you're quick - very useful for shields!
    You can interrupt every punch in a Beatdown with a combo gadget for some scary fast tool spam. See Fleaker's video for examples. You can also reset the Triple Batarang combo requirement with an REC for an infinite gadget combo, which is included in my Special Combo Moves guide for Arkham City
    Critical Strikes are faster if you don't touch left stick while inputting them, but their range is reduced. They'll automatically target enemies who are about to attack you so you don't have to counter. You can cheese a lot of 3-star requirements by getting a good rhythm going with this

      Okay, you can only action cam grapple between dedicated (green reticle) vantage points. However, if you do this in or out of a pass-through grate it looks insanely cool. Make sure to hold right trigger the whole time while going up. Glide kick reversal does not work in Asylum, but it gave me action cam almost every time no matter what I did first

    One more you didn't mention is the grapple cancel. If you press B while grappling towards a gargoyle, it will cancel the grapple and send you flying forward like spiderman. It's a much faster way to travel in predator encounters and is actually a thing I found myself.

    Also a cool mechanic for the batclaw is that if you use the batclaw on a brute (with the super combo batclaw upgrade equipped) it can one shot them! Also if you use it on a brute without the upgrade, he will go spinning and knock any thug by him unconscious/stunned!

  • @Bugplanet8840

    The cinemamatic camera for glide attacks in asylum uses the same button prompts as the dive attack from Arkham city. and while rotating your camera in city, origins, and knight batman does the pre fight animations from the challenge maps, if playing as Robin in knight do the same thing but you can do a glitch by holding gadget to make him hold the staff forever or until you trigger the holding animation again, was useful for photomode at the studio to get a shot of both Tim and Bruce holding weapons.

    One hidden combat feature (unless it isn't lol) not listed in this video is Red Hood's ability to Beatdown from a distance; first stun a medium-long range enemy with your quickfire flashbang grenade, then spamming attack will have him rapid fire his pistols in a really cool animation. The range of this move is actually crazy far too 😅

    If anyone is wondering what the the Action shot toggle is on PC (Mechanism #10, see 0:44) it's your cape stun button which by default is the Middle Mouse Button on PC.
    For the directed aerial attack (Mechanism #5, see 6:24)
    it's Cape stun + Evade (Twice) + Punch (immediately after hitting evade twice).
    So by default on PC it's Middle Mouse Button + Space Space + Left Mouse Button.
    Additionally you can use your movement keys (W,A,S,D) to direct in which direction Batman will aerial attack into.

  • @jasonpratt5126
    @jasonpratt5126 Před 5 měsíci +24

    As probably noted below (but just in case not): the directed aerial attack is required to beat the Riddler in ArkCity. Which I can rarely do properly, I just end up try-harding and do it by accident. (It helps that with the Catwoman add-on, you'll get a buffer of 20 extra requirements thanks to Selina -- only some of which are feasible, but still you can sub hers out to help reach the 400 needed to defeat Eddie. So I never have to do the direct aerial to win. But I do still try!)

    Subbed! What a great video!
    The Arkham games have been one of my favorite game series/franchises ever since I first played the damn Arkham Asylum demo on xbox 360 😆 I hold them in super high regard, like, up there next to Witcher and Red Dead. I replay them year or two but even then I had no idea about most of this list. I just never really expected these games to be so full of details this small. The sheer confidence of a studio to put in IMPORTANT and VIABLE mechanics without having them displayed on a tutorial or skill tree is... Something else.
    I'm fresh off of playing Spider-Man 2, finished it a couple of weeks ago, I was hoping this would be the one that would dethrone Batman Arkham from its #1 super-hero genre game, but it just hasn't reached that spot just yet. Now that I know that there's even more little details and hidden mechanics in these games that I had no clue about, that bar has only increased.

You have to do freeze grenade, strike, freeze grenade, strike, then after you could do an instant takedown to finish them off! You can also do this to shield and stun sticks enemies without getting hurt! Also if you freeze a thug, then use the batclaw or rec gun to get them unfrozen, they will fall down like a statue lol!

    You can target downed enemies with regular melee attacks in Arkham Knight by holding crouch and using the regular attack button. You can also pull enemies out of the air after a super stun launch by using the ground pickup input, they get snatched down into a stunned state. The batarang throw for batman and azrael can be used to dodge. Throwing freeze pellets at big enemies allows you to hit them normally without having to stun them first. Just a few things I've discovered

    Another mechanic that people don't know about in AK, is that you can use the Batmobile's scanner to reveal Cobra tanks behind walls, making these stealth sections incredibly easy. You don't even have to press it manually all the time, you press it once and it'll scan continuously.
    By the way, the redirected aerial attack is worse in Arkham Origins for some reason. After this attack, Batman will stay on the ground for like 2 more seconds to slam an enemy with his fists, which makes him extra vulnerable.

    Awesome vid thanks! REC gunning a brute or melee weapon enemy makes them attack enemies around them. I like to Freeze Grenade the Riddler informants to keep ‘em on ice ‘til the fight’s done. Also, if I'm on foot sometimes I'll grapple but drop before perching to cover ground quickly.

    The secret drop attack is actually a reference to The Dark Knight Returns! It's also actually based on distance, meaning it can be done without ever going into a glide kick or drop if the thug is at the right distance.

    Random bonus fact I found: you can actually use the disruptor on cobra tanks if you have the drone sabotage upgrade; meaning that when they spot the Batmobile, they’ll just self-destruct. This is only really useful during the founder’s island encounter as that’s the only time the tanks are spawned in before you enter the Batmobile but it’s interesting nonetheless
