The fact that my panic spamming in an arkham origins predator challenge map caused Knerd and Ice Mage to discover an extremely broken predator mechanic is hilarious
You’re a legend
I wish I would’ve known this before I platinum’d Arkham City a few months back (it was my second time doing it)
Didn't know I watched knerd lol@@TheWaffleEdits
Does this trick work with a keyboard and mouse?
Christ saves 🇻🇦✝️
Here are 4 more tricks!!!!!
1)When it comes to the brutes in Arkham knight you can also damage them with the special combo explosive gel. I think it even takes 3 hits instead of 5 and you can do it fron a distance!!!
2)If a brute has almost no health left(1 or 2 hits away from a KO) throwing an other thug at him(via the throw counter or robin's throw ) and even nightwing's sticks can knock the brute out.
3)In AK, when fighting along side robin or nightwing and there is a brute, if you freeze it there is a chance the sidekick will attack the brute do a beatdown on him and KO him with you not needing to lift a finger.
4)After doing an ultra cape stun on a brute or after punching him while frozen, you can instantly take him out with the multi-ground takedown.
There's no way to ground pound them, right? Their melee stun state is slightly different from being floored?
@@icarusgaming6269They’re referring to the multi ground takedown combo move where Batman jumps in the air and throws batarangs at all grounded thugs K.O.-ing them instantly
So I tested them all out and they work, but slight correction, 2) doesn't work with nightwing's stun sticks and 4) doesn't work with the freeze blast punch! Nightwings stick throw combo is always blocked by brutes and the last one only works with the ultra stun because when you ultra stun a normal thug they are instantly knocked down so you can use a multi ground takedown, they just forgot to remove that property of the ultra stun for brutes, so this is a glitch, you can tell because if you try an ultra stun on a regular thug and instantly use multi ground takedown it will knock them out in the air!
Here are two cool hidden features related to the weapon grab mechanic in arkham knight! Firstly, if you do a ground takedown while holding a weapon, batman will take out the thug instantly without having a long animation(plus a little bonus feature is you can use the freeze blast to freeze an enemy who knocked down to keep them knocked down for a ground takedown later!). Secondly, if you grab a weapon and then do a special combo takedown with it, it will instantly takedown armoured militia brutes, this means you don't have to do two special takedowns but instead one and it is useful because this is free unlike the batclaw takedown which you have to buy! On top of that, in both cases, you will keep your weapon without any damage done to it so you can use it to bash more thugs as a follow up attack! Pretty cool right!
This video and the comments are actually such an awesome goldmine of tips
Thank you very much for this, i'm excited to play the iceberg lounge tomorrow lol

So that explains how people have over 2 million points on Blind Justice
I did not expect that REC Punching method, brilliant. (Also expected seeing my skins even less, glad u r enjoying them)

Bro really put a one piece reference
8:15 If you do break one of your saves in Knight, you can hold down a button (it should say which one on the bottom of the screen) at the save menu and backups of earlier saves in your run will popup that you can use instead.
Note: The brute freeze attacks don’t work on the enemies with the shields or if they have electrified fists, unless you deactivate them first with the REC
It works on the electric fist ones, I tested it! And yes you are right it doesn't work on the shield ones!
Little addition to the REC-Punching: A similar tactic works with TITANs (in AC), allowing for infinite combos. Tripple-Stun a TITAN with the REC and for some reason they will be immune to damage until your combo (and therefore their stunned status) resets. 13yo me sure loved getting to Global Rank 3 on the Extreme Museum map this way.
You made the Arkham Iceberg, right? I’m a bit late but great work on it!
@@GOF2013 Thank you, man. Greatly appreciated!
Honey wake up! Knerd just posted a new video! 🔥🔥
been playing this game for years, still didn't find some of these... dude how did you find out lmao
Wow, I just finished watching the first video. I was off to try them when I saw this one. Thank you!!! You're Awesome keep up the good work
Learned some things from this video I like how these videos actually have hidden mechanics good job :)
This video was so interesting! Good job man
I played Arkham Knight SO MUCH That almost every mechanic from it I knew. The Arkham City Drop takedown mechanic is soooo cool, I cant describe how I love this series.
Does it work on ps5 return to arkham city
Thank you so much for still doing Arkham Batman content
IMPORTANT DETAIL: ice granade mechanic only works on enemies who doesn't use shields. If they do, they will break your combo.
I've played these games so many times each and there's still so many things in this video I didn't know! Arkham Knight's combat in particular has so many new little features in it like picking up downed enemies that the game never really explains. Also, I've done that first drop takedown many times on accident. I always thought it was because the normal inverted takedown animation didn't have room to play out for some reason, but I guess maybe I was just hitting both buttons on accident. Also the REC punching is crazy, I wonder why the shield hurts you on the ground? Really enjoy these videos!
Another one for you: in arkham Knight, if you use an ice grenade during a glide kick sequence that grenade has its own counter that behaves separately from a normal ice grenade. With this you can actually keep two enemies frozen at the same time.
You are simply awesome! Thanks for all the research and sharing this.
These are truly hidden mechanics that I didn't know about and will be very helpful to me. I dropped a like and I also subbed.🦇
Another cool thing I found about charging thugs/militant is that instead of throwing a batarang you can hop over them and launch them into enemies. It's useful for breathing space if you're dealing with a crowd or just if you're look for some giggles because of how goofy it looks.
I smile as I look upon all of the additional mechanics I never knew about, with everyone nerding out. I love i!
Some of these I was feeling like, “Okay, how the hell did I do that and can I do that again?” It’s great to have this reminder and experience!
Awesome Arkham video. Thank you so much for the Batman content
Lets go another Knerd video, love this guy :D
One of the best Arkham channels out there ❤❤❤❤ love you so much
Other ways to humiliate Brutes:
Beat them down to half health (militia) or until meter is charged (thug), takedown
Projectile, stun attack, repeat
Basically any combination of stun attacks, gadgets, and punches. Just make sure to think through the melee phase because punches only work after certain gadgets and two gadgets in a row will drop your combo. You can go a little combo mad with this
Stun attack, beatdown until meter is charged, multi-REC/whip trip/electric combo/staff spin/etc, repeat. Even disarm can work if you're careful with the targeting
When you freeze the last enemy recognized in a combat encounter, the fight is considered to be over and your combo complete. We can tell because it gives you perfect freeflow no matter how far you have to walk to ice smash him. The immediate result is that you're considered undetected, allowing you to get off a silent takedown or knockout smash before the freeze blast detonates if you're quick. But the same is also true of enemies a medic has just finished reviving and have yet to regain their footing, but unless the medic is frozen at exactly the right time stealth moves are disallowed because the medic is still considered an active threat. But if you freeze the medic right as his patient gets up, then you've got *two* inactive hostiles and therefore qualify for a fear takedown. *In combat.* Note that special combo freeze blast does not seem to have the same encounter ending special properties
If you throw down a smoke bomb at the very beginning of the map Wildcat you can sometimes qualify for a fear takedown if enemies are lined up at the right angle. There's even a pretty long grace period while the smoke is active if you want to get off a special combo move first. Make sure to wait until the button prompt at the bottom of the screen appears, because the yellow outlines will be popping in and out like crazy. This is a glitch that works on this map and only this map. I also did it on Newton Fairgrounds one time by using a contextual quickfire smoke, resetting, and then throwing down another smoke on top of that because the effect didn't clear through the reset, but I could never manage to reproduce it
Ground punching with Harley has a quirk that causes her to do a special variation of the ground pound with a different animation if you're too slow. Be very careful, it's even possible to induce this without crouching when enemies are separated
Okay, finally did some testing against Cobra tanks. A direct frontal assault is very possible. Secondary weapons need to be charged to at least level 2 to have any effect. Missile barrage can instantly destroy one Cobra at level 2 and two Cobras at level 4. This is useful for planning long term ambushes against mutiple targets. EMP stuns them like you'd expect, giving you time to line up a critical shot. This is effective to save yourself from near or minor detections at close range. Hack is the most efficient use of your energy because the hacked Cobra will almost always destroy at least one other tank in the infighting before being blown up itself, allowing you to get two Cobras with only two bars of energy. You don't have to worry about how long they take to hack because once you establish a connection, there are no line of sight or range limitations, allowing you to back off or hide behind a piece of concealment, or even hack them through multiple walls. This trick is also useful against Diamondbacks, which are valuable allies for their tanky HP pools. But by far the best way to fight Cobras is to not fight them at all. Buy the assault drone upgrade for the disruptor, drive the Batmobile outside the red encounter area on your minimap, dismount, and grapple up into the skyscrapers where they can't get you. From here you can disrupt four Cobras and blind one with the RHD, which will probably account for every tank on the map. Aim for the sensor array on top of the turret. Then drop down to street level and let them blow themselves up. Remember to reset the timer on the blinded one before calling the car back in. I also found the Cloudburst AI to be very stupid - it can't hit you if you hide in a tunnel and pop out to take potshots at it, and it's too fat to fit in the tunnel. I have now trivialized this boss fight for you
Knew some by luck, but the new ones are insane, thanks these are helpful❤
Glad I found this vid, thanks man
Fun Fact: You don't need to press the glide kick button to glide kick enemies. You just need to glide into them and it will automatically do the glide kick animation
I hate how long it takes you to release these videos but they're worth the wait
This is awesome. Thank you.
"The Drop Takedown" should be shortened to "The Dropdown".
Kinda like how the "The Ground takedown" sometimes gets shortened to "Ground Pound".
There's also this weird grapnel boost roll thing that Batman Arkham Videos did in their first playthrough of Arkham Knight. I've never been able to figure how they did it.
Push forward on the joystick while holding the Run button.
This is the first Arkham video I’ve seen in months where I actually learned stuff I didn’t know
I don't know if anyone's mentioned this, but in the batmobile you can quickly switch into battle mode for some really sharp turns, and you can add a boost to get some good speed out of it. You need to switch in and out of battle mode really quickly though, cause after around a second the batmobile will automatically slow down
I thought everybody did this it's so useful
I've been using the drop takedown in the riddlers campaigns for city and it's my new fave👍 great tips
you can also do a batclaw ultra stun and pull thugs back to the ground, used it a lot as i love beatdowns
Seriously great finds.
Cool vid, nice that people always notice the smallest details you can do with combat and stealth.👍
I also remember doing the last hidden combat that you said when I first started playing, I actually didn’t know Batman can’t do that.
Getting to Founders Island early is cool and all but I tried to beat riddler early on a new plus and I glitched my save. Yes you are able to beat him super early in the game but once Batman puts him in his car, he's stuck in the car and there's no bat symbol on the ground in GCPD.
Thank you so much for telling me about rec punching,I've been struggling to get medals on all the combat maps in city.
REC punching sounds nice but I would hate for the shield glitches Knerd mentioned to break my combo. The thing that usually hurts your score if you do it normally is getting overly fancy. I generally start every round with a slide kick to knock down 1-2 thugs, focus on getting my combo up, use Bat Swarm and Disarm to increase the combo without doing damage and try to save combo gadgets for the end of the fight. Certain gadgets can be unpredictable if you use them too much. Batclaw and Baterang are the most reliable but the clothesline attack leaves you vulnerable to attack so be wise in its usage, especially with Robin's zipkick which only works if the thug is in the sweet spot medium range.
I discovered REC punching on accident when I was trying to cancel a shield guy’s attack with the REC, which I then followed up with a punch meant for another enemy but hit the shield dude instead. The shield attack animation glitch you mentioned has been happening ever since and I never figured it was because of REC punching.
yooo awesome transition at 1:04
There's also one where right after you knock out an enemy, you can slam that enemy into the ground if you press the crouch button and cspe stun button at the same time.
I learned a lot so thank
Most of these I didn’t even know about, except the grapple ledge stop, which I actually figured out fairly quickly (and it immensely useful!). So fascinating how many different hidden mechanics that are in these games. Oh Rocksteady, what happened to you…?
I can't wait to use these new mechanics in my next playthroughs 👏
10:19 there is another one "kinda" when grappling and you want to go faster but don't want the boost just hold A or X and it will increase the speed of the grapple and once batman reaches the top if there is no bars or obstacles that needs to be climbed, he does a roll straight into a sprint
You can also use the Ultra Stun secret mechanic during a beatdown to kinda flip that thug and slam them into the ground for a little more brutality. Kinda fits when you use the Batfleck skin. Lol.
I noticed that Catwoman, Robin, and Nightwing can catch the remote battering during my last play through of Arkham Knight.
Something I think would’ve been really cool would be if you performed this Game of bat-catch with Ally, then in that save file, your ally would be able to use the remote control battering since they never gave it back
One cool mechanic in Batman Arkham Knight is the pickup animation which you do after the final blow on an enemy. It basically grabs a body and slams an enemy in the floor. It can stun enemies around and it can easily be pulled off if you beaatdown an enemy and do the pickup command after final blow
I discovered the 2nd one in my first play through. You can combo it with the granpel Pull and do the stun and then do the grab
getting the batmobile to founders island is so useful 6:29
Grapple cancel was the only thing i found on my own since i thought about. If he's traveling so fast when grappling won't he glide faster if he drops mid air lol
Now that first one is the REAL drop attack I was looking for in the Arkham games
Yay!! More hidden mechanics
I've seen a lot of suit mods over time, but I had never seen the Injustice suit mod... I must say it looks phenomenal
If you’re planning to make a part 3 , I have one I found, I was doing one of the stealth watch tower missions, when a Serpent drone spotted me , and it actually hit a militia soldier ( a mini gunner for that matter) and it took him down .
Your rec strike can be turned in to a beatdown on regular enemies in arkham knight by getting the strike in you can immediately pick them back to turn it in to a regular beatdown
also about number 5 i discovered this like a week before this video but how far you will fly until you go into dive bomb depends on grapnle boost with 2 you will just dive instantly with 5 you can go around the whole building
I love when games have been out for years and STILL have secrets, glitches, etc that are being found.
If anyone doesn’t know theres also a mechanic or glitch if you will. There is an instant siltent takedown. This is most commonly used with the freeze blast as you have too quickfire the freeze blast then press the silent takedown button and hold LT/L2/Right mouse button this will automatically take the thug down. I use this repeatedly in all of my stealth videos so check them out if you want.
Let's hope this video doesn't get stolen... btw, here's which ones I knew and didn't know:
10. I knew that, bc I tried button mashing when Batman was somehow stuck on the gargoyle and couldn't move, so I accidentally did the drop takedown glitch
9. Had no idea about that one
8. Knew about that one
7. I knew about the Nora statues because I tried to quickfire a batarang at Mr Freeze the first time I played it, only to have it hit the Nora statue near him
6. Knew about it bc I looked up ways to get the batmobile across to the other island early to finish the Pyg side mission (but it broke my save)
5. Knew the second two bc I speedrun city
4. Didn't know this one
3. Didn't know this either
2. Knew this one
1. Didn't know this
It can't really get stolen anymore. Because if U didn't notice he has a mark of his channel name so the video can't get stolen. And also nmp has already apologised for this.
After I learnt the ultra capestun feature I haven't stopped using it
16:27 in return to arkham if you just press R2 triangle (or whatever the ground knockout combo is) it automatically makes you jump over to them and knock them out
If you freeze grenade the last enemy in AK you have a small window to do a silent or smash takedown
Funny enough I knew about the ledge grapple mechanic already. I've been using that for years since Arkham City. Lol
7:55 ...you can use the power winch to trigger a controlled explosion
Another W vid from the goat
The irony of a lot of these hidden mechnaics is in retrospect they're rather intuitive. Like punching downed enemies by holding r2 and pressing attack builds off the knowledge that holding r2 and counter does ground takedowns. It makes sense r2 and attack does ground beatdowns.
Outstanding? Very nice, thank you... what about Brutality 101 tricks? Having difficulties with it
You can also hold a or x after a regular grapple to roll into a run
At 4:27, 9:27, and 10:09 it’s a little cool to see something I’ve done quite a few times in Arkham Knight in a hidden mechanics video
these are so cool
Honored to be in this video, love your work
Ive actually been having fun with the ultra capestun and pickup beat down and actually had that animation play and thought the the thug some how did a superhero landing
4:26 I knew this one and the Nora statues one.
Let’s hope Who’s Chaos doesn’t take this one to
💀
Or NeedlMouse
Its interesting ive seen nobody talk about that in the arkahm games besides knight its faster to ditch the grapple while you are about to hit the ledge than it is to grapnel boost. It needs the right angle but its surprisingly faster.
I can't believe I got the freeze blast when I trapped robin 😭. it couldve been so useful and theres a 2nd grapple boost animation where when you go into a vent and grapple boost he rolls into the vent
Dude if you or another Arkham youtuber make an hour+ compliation of facts and stuff like dat that would be the best thing of all time
I plan on eventually making a compilation of all my secrets/theories/mechanics videos sometime in the future
Also, ClownPuncher's iceberg videos are like 5 hours of nothing but Arkham facts, so I'd recommend those if you haven't seen them yet
I've been playing these games so much why did I already know these 😭😭😭
Yes i knew about these.
I don't think it really counts as a hidden feature but the first time I played arkham knight I completely glitched the riddler informant system. Essentially, after apprehending the corrupt riddler cop and putting him in jail, I decided to see what happened when I tried to grab one of the other cops standing there. For whatever reason, when walking forward slowly and using the grab so that it just barely clips the cop that was talking to the riddler plant before I caught him, I was able to infinitely prompt the interaction of finding an informant and slowly get every single riddle location marked on my map. Not sure if this is documented or if it's even useful at all, but it was definitely an interesting experience my first time through. Now I use it so that I don't have to painstakingly pan through the video guide every time I play.
I'm missing the old Rocksteady team even more.
Ok I have 2. Idk if the first one is patched, but it was a thing up to 2018.
1. Infinite beatdown. This glitch allow you to extend the beatdown infinitely. It works in city, origins and knight. When you're using the beatdown (stun+attack buttons) and thugs keep atacking you, you can counter them, and continue with your beatdown thats something we all know, horewer if you keep to counter them, batman will slow down the beatdown, and if you dont counter them again (with the counter button) batman will keep on beating the thug infinetly and it will build your combo endless, until you counter again a thug with the counter button.
How keep this beatdown without counter the enemies that atacks you?
Easy, use your gadgets as an alternative to the normal counter (batarangs, batclaw, freeze grenades and REC gun) batarangs for normal and stun thugs, freeze and REC gun for armored, shield, brutes and batclaw for electric charged thugs (don' t use batslam batclaw + attack button, that will cancel your beatdown).
Strategies:
Choose an enemy with full life, use beatdown on him, and allow the enemies to attack you without finishing him off, until batman "slows down" the beatdown. After that exclusively counter the enemies using your gadgets until you boost your meter to the point of using the special move of the freeze grenade (the one that can freeze multiple enemies) if you manage to freeze all the remaining enemies you will only have to worry to repeat the freeze attack periodicaly, insted of constantly use your other gadgets to counter the thugs. With this strategy you can get world records. With that being said, Idk if this was patched, last time I tried was 2018 it worked just fine.
2. Rare Grundy counter.
This a rare counter, when Grundy jumps at you and tries to grab batman you can counter him. Batman will jump above his head all across the area. It's useful because allows you to reposition without running across the area.
Punching enemies on the ground reminds me of the batman from youtube shorts that just beats the crap out of anyone for any technical crime
So many of these mechanics ive been using for years on my channel lol
Hey man, I'm trying to do the grapple and then cancel in Arkham City, I've been searching online how to do it but I can't seem to find any helpful post for it, if I find a relevant post and try to do it in the game, still not able to do it, I'm playing on PC, and the posts saying that I should press the cape stun button which is "Q" or the "middle mouse button/scroll", is there a timing I should consider when doing it? Is there something I shouldn't do while grappling? Is grappling + cancel only work on Gargoyles? Please help...
I use the batarang knockout on the charging thugs whenever I finish a special move
I actually found out the cape stun one on my own (pretty proud of myself less go super cool guy over here)
In AK, I tried to jump in founders early but cant defuse the street bombs until the bridge is open
~9:55 first time while playing 'city' i somehow did not register how grapnel boosting works/is in the game, so i was using grapnel in more... TAS/spiderman slinging, fashion. if nothing else it was fun, leting you be on a mid-building level.
You guys can also use batmans freeze grenade to hit riot shield enemies better without ruining the combo but I've only tried it in Arkham knight
I knew about that inverted takedown. I did it many times but it happened to me randomly, because I didn't know how I did it. I'm playing on PC by the way. I first thought that it happens if you hold "inverted takedown" button instead of just tapping on it but nope. Other times I thought that it was happening because enemies were scared too much or because they had low health or something, but it wasn't the case too. So in conclusion for this mechanic, I know that it happens I just didn't know how I activated it.
Same with grapple cancelling. I did it many times in Arkham City and Origins, especially if I messed up and had a low health, and the building that I grappled to had a thug on it with a gun. So in order to escape, on PC I just hit a crouch button, which is left Ctrl button for me, while holding also a glide button, which is a spacebar button, and that's it. I discovered this a long time ago when Arkham City first came out.
Yeah, number 8 is really cool.
Bonus Mechanic i just discovered: When you start a finisher (animation when you knock out the least enemy) you can spam the A button 2 times to cancel the animation and not wait for the animation to finish
I know that in City it does work but i dont know if it does work in Asylum or Knight
