    I feel like the one on Bruce not being mentally cured of Joker's blood is less of a theory and more just media literacy. One of the themes of the entire game is facing one's fears, and Bruce gets the majority of that himself. Joker constantly appearing rings in Bruce's fear of failure, his fear of his no killing rule being broken. His "defeat" of Joker is him finally overcoming that fear and acknowledging to himself that he couldn't do anything to save Joker.

      @KANQQ Před 10 měsíci +15

      I agree, but it also goes to show how lazy the writers were. It doesn’t make sense for batman to be the “last joker” out of the quarantined ones when the whole joker being in his head thing is caused by the fear toxin. Also, joker sent his blood to gotham in AC so that they would be POISONED, not turn into joker. All of the panessa studio jokers should’ve died as quickly as joker. Instead, they turned into him. It all comes down to being a plot error that has no explanation because it’s simply bad writing.

  • @WaffleYabbler
    @WaffleYabbler Před 10 měsíci +167

    To add on to the last theory, the toxin makes Batman see more visions on billboards throughout the game that decontextualize their original meaning. One in particular shows Batman and Joker as the caption says “Never forget your first” with an image of Batman strangling Joker, showing that Batman truly does feel like he murdered Joker.

    I like to combine Jenpachi's Anarky theory with Clownpuncher's that he has in the Iceberg with Anarky being the fear gas bomber, Jenpachi mentions that they found railings by following Anarky tags, and the thug in the diner is carving an A into the table, so my Frankentheory is that Knight was supposed to have a quest on finding the fear gas bomber. Batman would've noticed the A on the table, deduced Anarky or a supporter was the bomber, then follow the tags throughout Gotham to the railing where it would become Croc's sidequest or an actual storybeat,but due to time restraints, the mission was scrapped and Croc was to be pushed to DLC.
    The only real evidence I have for Croc being intended for base game is the Joker section having him in it with the extra mutated hand he has in Beneath the Surface

    About theory 9, probably the biggest evidence debunking it is that after the whole Scarecrow situation is done and over with, Batman isn't acting like someone else, he's still himself. He does end up using the fear toxin to enforce safety in place of "Batman", but he's not directly becoming a nightmare creature himself. He simply elevates the legend of the Batman to that status at a cultural level, and even then only because his identity was revealed and this was his last resort. If he were to have become a fear of a fear, it would be reductive twice over. He wouldn't be acting like a personality, he would be acting like a monster. The effects of the toxin also aren't permanent.
    Here's a completely unrelated theory: Batman actually knew that he was going to get exposed as Bruce Wayne before the events of Knight ever even started. Evidence: The Knightfall Protocol that he used to fake his own death at the end of the game had to have been set up at some point prior to the events of the game, and Alfred was already aware of what it was. Batman might not have known exactly when the protocol would be needed, but he knew that he wouldn't be able to keep his identity as Bruce Wayne safe forever. During the events of the game, we see him actually consider Azriel's worthiness to take up the mantle instead of disregarding it from the start and when Cobblepot asks him about what his next superhero identity will be, Batman replies with a simple "You'll see". This suggests that he's well aware that the time he needs to fake his own death and reinvent the legend is close at hand and is increasingly decided that "tonight" is his last night as Batman as the story progresses. This is probably also why he chooses to accept his fate of getting exposed and allows his life as "Batman" to come to an end.

      I dig the theory about Knightfall... Very well thought out BUT.... Aren't we told by Rocksteady that certain comic arcs are also cannon in the Arkham series? If that is indeed the case...the Knightfall Protocol was created long ago in the encounter with Bane. Specifically the Batman comic or arc "Knightfall" (not sure which exactly been a lil bit since readin it lol sorry) which focuses on how Bane broke Batman almost in half... The arc also goes into detail (if I'm not mistaking) of Bruce, while healing (and appointing the future Azrael as Batman) starts to discuss with Alfred the idea that becomes essentially the Knightfall Protocol (which I think has that name in comic as well) Could be mistaking or combining a few stories possibly but I'm almost sure that's right

    • @yoboiteo

    Not just you fixed everyone's problem with the character-writing of Jason in this game, but also turned him from a Villain redeemed to Hero, to a interresting Anti-Villain instead!
    (An Anti-Villain for those who don't know, is the opposite of Anti-Hero. It have multiple meanings just like Anti-Hero, but the relevant one for this context is: An overall bad guy playing the role of a bad guy, but for an overall good or at least heroic objecttive, or somrthing that in his vision and through a moral vision, could be considered ultimately heroic or good willing at the end of the day. And in his vision, Batman wasn't a hero and Gotham needed brutality to keep peace, so it makes sense!)

    I have an adjustment for Theory 6, especially when involving The Titan Formula. In AA, it is safe to assume that not one, not two but three Crates of Titan went unaccounted for on the island. One was secured by Bane, a Second one was secured by Killer Croc, and the other was secured by Scarecrow. In AC, Bane tasks Batman to help find the remaining canisters of Titan across the City. While Batman destroys his half, we know Bane had already collected his half. Batman however was nobody’s fool and figure out that Bane was trying to keep a hold of it due to addiction. Killer Croc, is more tragic. The crate Waylon Jones secured had a leak that was diluted in the water but enough to expose him to the Titan effects and by AK, that was when he became and looked more Monstrous. Sadly Batman didn’t know how exactly to help him. Now for Scarecrow, his crate of Titan was used in Conjunction with his Fear Toxin which made his hallucinations potentially more realistic hence his attack on the Diner at the Start of AK.
    For Batman, I do agree that he was cured back in AC however I believe the Physical Damage caused by both Titan and Joker’s Blood was cured not the Mental and Psychological Damage. The first dose of the Fear Toxin re-triggered the effects of both Titan & Joker’s Blood which caused Joker to reappear. As a result, a Worst Case scenario Batman had was playing out in real time but too fast for him to properly adjust due to the Chaos ensuing. By the end of the Game, Scarecrow inadvertently helps Batman by giving him one last dose of the Fear Toxin and due to it having Titan mixed in the Toxin, Batman was able to disassociate from his Subconscious and permanently remove the Joker from his Mind. Therefore also removing the Psychological Damage caused by the Titan Formula and Joker’s Blood.

If the Joker's personality took control of Bruce's body and his greatest fear was Batman, it would be possible for Zur En Arrh to come into action, causing Bruce to completely lose his humanity. At the same time, Zur En Arrh is often depicted covered in fire, which is exactly what Scarecrow sees when he sees Batman at the end of the game - a Batman covered in fire.

    I don’t have any theories but I think it would have been cool if Batman started to hallucinate after Scarecrow said that Barbara was in danger. While Batman was distracted and telling Barbara to run away, scarecrow could have put a huge amount of fear toxin into the Batman and lock him in the gas chamber where the explosion was occurring. This was the first mission with scarecrow and when you met Jason Todd. So Batman would escaped and Batman would go to the police station. There, Gordon would tell Batman about stopping Scarecrow but Batman would think that he was talking about the riddler, two face, and Penguin. So, all of those missions expect Scarecrows would be a hallucination, and when Batman saves the city from Scarecrow. The police would investigate Batman. They would have him go back to the police station and Gordon and Cash would be there. They would take him to this small room and they would ask why he destroyed the city, why he killed cops, blow up weapons catches, etc. Batman would say that he didn’t do any of that but Gordon would show him pictures. One was dead cops in the bank, brutality beaten. The other was the weapons catches where Batman thought “Penguin and his men” were,
    The weapons catches were destroyed and no people were there. Batman would say that he was stopping the villains, Two Face, Riddler, etc. However, Gordon would be confused and say, what other villains, there was only Scarecrow! The militia missions were true and scarecrow mission, but all the others were just a hallucination from the fear toxin. That’s when Batman would realize, he was hallucinating, all of those people he fought and things destroyed were from him, he did it, he was the culprit.

    Theory 11. The grapple boost theory!
    This theory asks the question, why does batman have the grapple accelerator in Arkham origins, when in Arkham city Alfred says the grapple boost is a prototype. Answer his batsuit.
    In Arkham origins Bruce’s suit is made of heavy bulky armor with gunfire and melee upgrades.and the the grapple accelerator is slower, but requires the boost to be a higher gforce speed to compensate for the heavy armor.
    Flash forward to Arkham asylum, Bruce has a lighter weaved suit with armor upgrades for all damage not gunfire or melee, so it’s safe to assume that he just started wearing the lighter suits within a year or a few months, and since the suit is lighter if he used the grapple accelerator his body wouldn’t be able to take the higher G’s.
    And in Arkham city he has un upgraded version of the city suit that has gunfire and melee upgrades. But it’s still a lighter weaved suit, it’s safe to assume that the grapple boost was being created and tested durring the events of asylum by Lucius fox, and durring Arkham city he’s made the first working prototype that outputs less g force than the grapple accelerator.
    And in Arkham knight at the beginning of the game batman has light weight suit v7.45 and the grapple boost is labeled has v2, but it’s slower than it was in Arkham city because it’s fully working model and not a prototype.
    Then gets the new lightweight armored v8.03. With the grapple boost v3 that can be upgraded to v5, and as Lucius says in game this suit can take the G’s.
    I hope this theory is good and my favorite theory in this video has got to be theory 3.

    W video. The intro was really cool and all these theories are really interesting.
    While number 8 is a cool concept I feel like the whole "it was all in his mind/it was all a dream" trope is kinda overused.
    For number 7, since batman can use detective mode to find out the emotional state of someone and all the anatomy of their body, not to mention being the world's greatest detective, I feel like he would have known if Harley was pregnant. Sure u could argue that he didn't notice Clayface even with the same equipment/expertise, but Clayface is a very unique case. Pregnancy on the other hand is very common. I'm sure he would have experience dealing with pregnant victims or suspects in the past. I feel like it's more likely that Joker was just manipulating Harley into believing she was pregnant to reinforce that control and sense of dependence he has over her. Then once he died, in a desperate attempt to carry on her attachment to him, she started testing for herself and had to come to terms with the fact that she never was pregnant. That's why the negative tests only show up in the dlc after Joker has passed. The original one in the main game was probably a fake or sabotaged test given to her by joker.
    Overall, my favourite theories were probably Red Hood, Shiva, blood transfusion, and Batman's paranoia. They help fill some of the plot holes/unanswered questions of the arkhamverse really well.

    2. Out of all the things we know Harley did during the events of city, i doubt getting slightly thrown around would've caused the miscarriage
    3. false positive pregnancy test results *do* occur, so why would she take more after if she believed it was real? what genuine reason would she have to believe that she's no pregnant anymore?

On your theory about Jason already having created his Red Hood persona before coming to Gotham there’s an extra point that supports the theory in the novelisation of Arkham Knight. There during the final confrontation with Jason rather than changing the colour of his mask he instead ripped the the Arkham emblem off his chest to reveal the Red Hood emblem ALREADY PAINTED ON HIS ARMOUR UNDERNEATH. Finally about the theory that Bruce Wayne died at the end of Arkham Knight that can be disproven by the fact that Bruce nearly chokes on his words when saying his mother’s name while telling Alfred to activate the Knightfall protocol.
    P.S the mini theory that Crane stitched his mask onto his face because of damage dealt by Croc’s attack is confirmed by Militia dialogue.

Its about changing Batman's alter ego. In the Knightfall story arc Bane breaks Bruce's back causing him to make Jean Paul Valley Batman while he recovers, so combine that with the official statement from Rocksteady that it's Bruce still in the suit at the end of the game, you can guess that it was about faking Bruce's death. Part of the Bruce death theory is true. Bruce is dead and Batman is alive but not in the way you think. When Bruce activated Knightfall he killed Bruce and Batman took over. However Batman doesn’t kill so like when he killed Bane he revived Bruce by SS:KTJ

    quick note on the "Green Eyes" theory. There is a small percentage of people whose eyes change color depending on mood, physical stress, and in some cases emotions. I know this bc I'm one of them. Specific eye colors and emotions defer depending on genetics. for example: when I'm mad my eyes turn from light blue to green (I call it my inner hulk), if I'm focused they turn gray, however Blue to green in a number of cases shows fear. There's a few other variations, but I think you get the point.

    • @GrimmShadowsII
      @GrimmShadowsII Před 6 měsíci

      I don't think that applies here though since his eye color changing due to emotion hasn't happened before in any media, just changing color due to artist or actor portraying him, maybe on occasion when exposed to certain chemicals.

    Regarding theory 1:
    Joker received treatment throughout the year, extending his life and holding back the titan disease. When Batman got infected, he had no medicine injected plus the disease was far more advanced by the time he got infected. Also, it is known that some diseases fight other diseases inside a given host, maybe the Joker Disease also helped Joker live longer while infected with Titan, while in Batman's case it was both diseases spreading and destroying everything.
    Regarding theory 6:
    I think Batman is really infected, but the cure he took at the end of Arkham City helped keeping it at bay for awhile. What really happens in my opinion is that he overdoses with fear toxin twice at the end, and the toxin helps Batman cure himself as a side effect.

  • @MikatheVoidStar
    @MikatheVoidStar Před 10 měsíci +3

    #1 - I agree with this theory. I think it could very well be true!
    #2 - A problem with this theory. Why would Killer Croc be running at batman if he's seeing his greatest fear? Also, Croc was trying to drag Batman into the water, which makes sense since Croc would easily beat Batman under water.
    #3 - I actually do agree with this theory. It's a good one.
    #4 - Again, a great theory.
    #5 - Another very good theory. Don't really have any reason to believe otherwise.
    #6 - Oh by here we go. Batman was cured from titan. That means no glowing eyes from there. How do you know it wasn't enough time for his blood to mutant? You're right, in real life people can't just beat their blood mutation away, but this is comics. And trust me, a lot weirder stuff happens in comics. A lot of this excusing the green eyes thing, just sounds like you're scrabbling to find a reason.
    #7 - Makes sense.
    #8 - You shown no evidence for this. Like literally none. It's hard to debunk this when you made no points for this theory that I could debunk.
    #9 - Bruce Wayne is Batman. They are the same person. Even if the fear Batman took over, it still Bruce Wayne. It literally does not matter. It isn't a different personality. Batman doesn't have multiple personality disorder, or bipolar disorder.
    #10 - Worst theory I have ever heard. Here's the thing, the biggest thing that you didn't even address. What joker says right before he dies. From Joker's words, it's pretty much spelled out that Joker though that Batman would just let him die. He even laughs when Batman tells him that he would give him the cure. Joker's plan was to stab Batman, then take the cure from his hand. What he didn't expect was Batman to drop the cure. Joker doesn't just want Batman to blame himself for his death, what Joker wants is for Batman to really kill him. And not only that, Joker wants to also gloat about it. He wants everybody to know that Batman killed him. He wants to be remembered as the one person to make Batman break his one rule.

    • @juanaguilera804
      @juanaguilera804 Před 4 měsíci

      About the debunk you make in theory #10... That's actually kind of happen. There are dialogues around the game that shows many people around Gotham think Batman actually killed The Joker. And, well, The Joker's not stupid, it was pretty obvious that dropping the item as a reflexe move is a very real possibility if you stab the arm that holds it. And it is not far-fetched for The Joker to just act out one last time to make believable for Batman that he had no intention of dying and provoking him survivor's guilt, which is pretty much the central point of the hallucinations in Arkham Knight. The overall idea of making Batman drop Freeze's cure to make him and the city think The Bat killed him is actually very in-character for The Joker, specially in the Arkhamverse where he has done way more f-up things.

    • @MikatheVoidStar
      @MikatheVoidStar Před 4 měsíci

      @@juanaguilera804 But, here's the thing, why would Joker act surprise that batman was going to hand him the cure? Joker's dialogue has he dies shows that he didn't think batman was going to cure him. Which means joker didn't think batman would see him dying that way as him murdering joker.
      Yes Batman has guilt, but I don't think the Joker knew that would happen. I don't think he planned that out. Even if people think batman killed the joker, why would that be proof that the joker planned that out? His dialogue near the end shows that he didn't plan it out. It shows that he thought batman wasn't going to cure him. I mean, if you were joker and you heard batman say "After all the harm you've done" would you think batman would cure you?

    • @juanaguilera804
      @juanaguilera804 Před 4 měsíci

      @@MikatheVoidStar @MikatheVoidStar I thought I explained it in my comment, I'm sorry. So, the key is that The Joker is actually not surprised, just faking his reaction to mess with Batman's mind knowing well he'll feel guilt for his death. And come to think of it, it makes sense. The Joker is the one who knows Batman's psyche the best in all of the rogue gallery (one could argue about Strange being the only one who knows better, but that's another debate unrelated to this), he always knew Batman would give him the cure even after all he'd done, because Batman always keeps locking him instead of giving the definitive solution, even after all the gruesome and cruel crimes he'd done (Joker has gone waaaay farther than most of the other villains, both in comics and in the Arkhamverse). So, he takes the last opportunity he has to break the bat. The situation in Arkham Knight with Batman's survivor's guilt and the lines of people thinking Batman actually killed is not showing that it was planned all along, but to show that The Joker succeeded and had the last laugh. However, there might be a clue in Arkham City showing that The Joker already had everything planned in the beggining, at least the part of dying and making Batman feel guilty with no details on how he will acomplish. When you go to the church tower, after the countdown reaches zero, its doesn't immediately explode. Joker says something like he knows one of them will die tonight and the question is who and encourages Batman to jump out of the window before the bomb actually goes off.

    In the comics, Batman has always felt that the Joker has a toxin that when the Joker dies will released upon the person who kills him and will make them a new Joker. This may be why Joker tried forced Batman to drop the toxin and why he wanted to die.

  • @ue8dh2
    @ue8dh2 Před 9 měsíci +2

    I like the theory that says Batman was never infected and it was all in his head. It actually makes a lot of sense. If he was infected, he would have needed a cure of some sort. At the end of the game when Sacrecrow unmasks him, he was able to beat the Joker(who was created by batman's mind and Not because of the infected blood) without taking any cures, which proves that it was purely a mental problem. After Arkham city, Batman blamed himself for the Joker's death(In Arkham knight and before beating the game, if you roam around Gotham, at random times you will see the billboards changing due to Batman's hallucinations and one of them will show Batman pointing a gun at the Joker and it clearly shows that Batman believes he killed the Joker by letting him die in Arkham city. Also during the mission when Harley takes over Panessa Studios, the Joker, who is not real, tells Batman that he has killed before and that he will make him do it again. It's like bruce is indirectly telling himself that he is a killer) the Idea of Batman killing someone and the fear of becoming what he fights against was lurking there in the back of his mind after the Joker had died. That fear is what made the Joker alive in Batman's head.

      Poison Ivy is immune to all toxins and poisons. I'm not sure about Joker, though. Although there was a DC/Marvel crossover where he took on the Red Skull, and Red Skull had a gas attack weapon, and both fired their guns at each other... their chemicals are similar, so it had no affect on each other.
