I hope you make more videos like this but in another fantasy series like Stormlight archive.
Not sure when, but I will cover the Cosmere at some point. :)
I was so psyched when you made a couple of WoT videos a couple of years ago, and then sad when you stopped, but I assumed you stopped because the show was announced.
Looks like I was right! Totally in love with these histories!
Duh mah nay.
So glad to see you covering my fave series
One thing I really want in this life I know I'll never get are Stories about what was happening in Shara and Seanchan and maybe the land of the madmen during the course of the novels...

Thank you for Clearing up the damn Seanchan for me!!!! I find them confusing!!
Great work as usual sir!!!
CivEx!!!
Jordan must have read Dune-one could almost say "The Creator made the Aiel Waste to train the faithful."

I see Australia survived throughout the ages
Love your videos! You should do Cosmere lore there is so much good content you can get from it!
I don't know when I'll get to it, but the Cosmere will likely be the next universe I cover. :)
Just curious have you ever done the world of dragonlance
No I'm afraid not.
Are there any good videos on the timeline of Wheel Of Time? I want one one day
This video has a timeline of everything up to the start of the books.

*A Brief Note on Wheel of Time Canon*
The following is considered Primary WoT canon for the Civilization Ex Channel:
Prequel Novel
-New Spring Novel
Short Story
-The Strike at Shayol Ghul
Novel Series
-The Eye of the World (Including Ravens Prologue)
-The Great Hunt
-The Dragon Reborn
-The Shadow Rising
-The Fires of Heaven
-Lord of Chaos
-A Crown of Swords
-The Path of Daggers
-Winter’s Heart
-Crossroads of Twilight
-Knife of Dreams
-The Gathering Storm
-Towers of Midnight
-A Memory of Light
History and Reference Books
-The World of Robert Jordan’s Wheel of Time
-The Wheel of Time Companion
The Following is considered Secondary Canon and will only be used if additional details are needed.
Games
-The Wheel of Time Roleplaying Game
Written by other authors but approved by Robert Jordan.
-The Wheel of Time PC Game
Takes place in an alternate reality accessed through Portal Stones, so while it is not canon to the world we know it can be considered canon to the larger universe.
Short Story
-River of Souls
Written by Brandon Sanderson but cut from A Memory of Light before their Continuity Editors could approve.
The Following is considered Tertiary Canon and will not be used for information unless absolutely necessary.
-The Wheel of Time Collectable Card Game
TV Canon
The Amazon Prime TV Show will not be considered canon to this universe, however videos may be made specifically for TV Show canon.
How about the original version of "New Spring" in Legends, which is much shorter and slightly different? And "Ravens" in the YA version of The Eye of the World? And the video game, which RJ also gave his OK to? There may have also been a CCG (though I may have made this up in my head; I'm old).
Haha. I assume the first and third are secondary, and the second is primary.
@@jamesderosa2041 I don't recall the New Spring short story being different from the book, just shorter. If there are differences, for me the book takes precedence. Ravens I do consider canon but I didn't mention it because I just lump it in with Eye of the World. The game is a bit different though since it takes place in another reality. So I don't consider it canon to this world, though I suppose it is canon to the larger universe. As for the CCG, I guess I would say it's tertiary canon, though I don't have any plans to use it for information.
My girlfriend's dad loves this series
hello everyone i'm his girlfriend's dad how we all doing
@@anentiresleeveoforeos2087 hey dude how you been?
Luthair's got a very... Conquistador-ish outfit. Gee, I wonder why.
Third.
Has anyone ever circumnavigated the World of Wheel of Time or is the world presumed to be flat like Tolkein's in the 1st and 2nd Ages before it was reshaped?
It's a future IRL Earth we are the 1st age
Seanchan sounds inspired by the Native American cultures mixed with Modern North American and South American countries and unified in a single empire. Shara sounds like East Asian or Islamic Empires, particularly the Chinese Empires, Arabic Caliphates and Ottoman Empires. Sea People seemed to be inspired by the Polynesians and Vikings. Bedouin, Berbers and Zulus might have inspired the Aiel.
Land of Madman seemed to be inspired by the wild down-under, Australia. Lol. We are not so far from that popular imagination with our deadly spiders and snakes and other weird animals, among whom the wildest of them of all are the Aussie bogans always sighted at the local pubs. Many of them are just like the male Aes Sedai with their uncontrollable magical explosions and frequent rampages.
Dune lore?
Unfortunately I didn't have time to make Dune vids, as I chose to focus my attention on WoT and the Witcher. But I do hope to cover it some day.
Lord of the Rings remastered for Kids. Even the land looks the exact same as Beleriand.
im so disapointed these lands are ignored
Wdym? Except for the Land of Madmen all have major role in the story
@@luck_adiante im disapointed we didnt get povs form Seanchan and Shara political strife, a taverinn uniting the lands of madmen into a single nation wouldve also been nice.
@@Jimholy Well, we were supposed to get more of them in form of an after story with Mat, Tuon and Perrin going Seanchan to reevaluate the culture. We were also going to get two more prequel entries one that focused on Moiraine and Lan while the other being Tam's PoV. They're all outriggers, but nothing more than that.
@@luck_adiante no point of view from shara or seanchan or australia. and if im being honest we didnt really get to explore the aiel waste and that was pretty boring with no interesting landmarks other than ruidean. the book also tries to hype up the reader when reading about jain farstrider's stories in shara but end up being wasted. I remember reading about giants with no heads and large hole on their tummy in shara if im not mistaken.
The authors might just not be very familiar with the cultures that inspired those areas. The Westland seemed to reflect the cultural and historical characteristic of the ancient Europe, Middle East and North Africa, which most high-school level history would focus on. So, it might not be wise for the authors to elaborate on something they have little knowledge of. Otherwise, you might end up with something similar to J. K. Rowling’s half-ass named magical schools outside of Europe. Viewing these cultures from a distance in a world without modern communication technologies might actually be more immersive.
However, I am interested in stories set in Seanchan since the authors are Americans, and Seanchan seemed to be inspired by an almost alternative history of the “New” World in a magical settings.
