      King James Version
      Romans: 16:20 - "And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen."
      There are several verses other than this one that talks about devils, Satan and so forth. The old serpent is Satan in the Garden of Eden. Satan is the falling angel, known as the Father of Lies. You should brush up on things before spouting lies. Satan = Lucifer.

      What happened was actually the best case scenario in a way, if the females had helped, both Saidin and Saidar would have been tainted. Then when the Dragon reborn came, he discovered they needed a third magic source, the True Power to help shield Saidin and Saidar. While there is a *huge* amount of detail, the story can be enjoyed and understood without digging into those details. It is on subsequent re-reads that many small details and foreshadowing become evident.
      As for names and pronunciation, each book has a glossary at the back, but even many of super fans still get names wrong. I suggest going ahead and reading it: the payoff in the last books make it more than worth the time. *Do not* search anything on line, there will be major spoilers. If you finish the books, there are huge amounts of info to clarify and explain things further than is found in the books.

    I hate to say it, but Latra was right. Chances are, if the women had helped, both sides of the One Power would have been tainted.

    Sooo ... its a ripoff of the Simarillion, replacing a fabric for the music and "shaitan" (bit on the nose) for morgoth then?
    Quite original.

    • @TheFawly84
      @TheFawly84 Před 2 lety +11

      Why does everything have to be a rip off? Why can’t you just enjoy both stories. There are so many unique elements to WoT, just because TLoTR came first doesn’t mean that everything copied it…

    • @eimhinduffy5736

      It is absolutely nothing like the silmarillion. Both Morgoth and the dark one are obvious Satan analogues. The name shaitan is literally Arabic for demon/devil

      Not even Tolkien was original when making his work. Elves, Dwarves are not his creation, but borrowings, and many of his work is taken by European folklore and some christian influence. Stop thinking everything revolves around Muh Tulhkeen

      For reference: I've read The Hobbit, Lord of the Rings, the Silmarillion, Unfinished Tales, and more a few dozen times, and Wheel of Time over a dozen times so far.
      While Wheel of Time was strongly inspired by Lord of the Rings, most, if not all of the concepts in the Wheel of Time predate Lord of the Rings by centuries. The Eye of the World plot is *very* similar to Lord of the Rings, but after that it heads its own direction, and subverts a lot of the tropes of Lord of the Rings and other fantasy works. It is also for more realistic and relatable in many ways.
