Always great to see your smile and knowing you love being our in your shop having fun. My efforts of 9 days of videoing my build got eaten by Andriod Phone, but life goes on as John Wayne would say. Did have fun building my project, but Covid just bet me up for 2+ wks,,, Quess I am not at tough as a 5th Grader anymore. You Keep on Keeping on, and I will try too do the same! Bear
Thank you for watching and commenting.
Those are really useful cutters! I have a plate I bolt on the compound and free hand with my cutter to make all kinds of shapes.
I have seen the Tornado, is that what you are referring to? Make sure to check your email. I have a solution to the question that you sent. Also a short video showing it work. I will send it to you if you want.
Nicely done, Steve. A worthy addition to the hashtag.
Thank you for watching and commenting.
So here we are, a comment on your nice little round insert lathe tool! cheers, Matthew
Thanks for watching and commenting.
I cheated, made one similar but silver soldered the carbide rather than making it removable. I know, I took the lazy man approach. Very nice build Steve, and a whole lot easier for you to rotate your cutter then for me to rotate mine LOL thanks for sharing. Gary

Thanks for posting this. It's just what I need.
Glad I could help! Thank you for watching and commenting.
that looks a really nice job. thanks Steve.
Thank you for sponsoring the event. I hope that you are doing well. Just wish that I were in a position to help out. I have not gotten a chance to talk to you about it but the whole thing sounds a bit bazar.
Excellent job Steve, that came out great...liked the made in USA decal in the shot..👍👍
I like to include the USA sticker on all of the products that I make. I also try my best to purchase USA made materials, but that is not always possible. Thank you for watching and commenting.
Nice job Steve. You made that very clear and easy to follow. Thank you.
Thank you, I try. Never sure how it comes across.
Looks like a great tool Steve. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
Nice tool addition - Thanks Steve for showing us how it was made. 👍👍😎👍👍

Looks like a real cutting tool Steve :) That will work very well.
Good idea to give it away.

I am taking a break from watching the videos to respond to comments. Good luck in the draw. Thank you for watching and commenting.
Very Useful looking tool great work!
Thank you for watching and commenting.
Very nicely done, I have not yet mastered making insert bit holders, but these videos sure do help. thanks
Glad to help. Thanks for watching and commenting.
You made a beautiful tool!
Thank you very much!
This is a great tool creation, it’s a shame that I missed the drawing opportunity. This is a tool that I could really use. I ordered a tool holder from Amazon and it broke the first time I used it. I have some O1 and W1 tool steel perhaps I will make one of these tool holders myself. Thanks for sharing your knowledge, I look forward to seeing what you do next.
It is a relatively easy tool to make. I made this one out of O1 tool steel. Thank you for watching and commenting.
Nice work! 👌 Looks very professional.
Thank you for watching and commenting.
Nice job Steve, haven't tried any of the round inserts yet myself, but you show that a holder for them can be made fairly easily with professional results
Thank you for watching and commenting.
Good job Steve. I'd be proud to own that tool holder.
You are in. Thank you for watching and commenting.
@@sharkrivermachine Thank you. I've been watching you for a long time. I enjoy machining.
@@donmittlestaedt1117 Thank you. Make sure to subscribe if you haven't already. Don't want to miss any videos.
Great job, looks like another project I have to work on.
I have the same problem when I watch other videos. The list keeps getting longer. Thank you for watching and commenting.
Nice job on the tool and thanks for sharing the video
Thank you for watching and commenting.
looks like a great tool 👍👌👍
I think so too! Thank you for watching and commenting.
That is very generous of you. I have a cutter holder for my last lathe for round. Not rigid as I cut it down to center it on my mini lathe. I’ve recently upgraded so needed this video regardless! Glad you put it out so even if I do not win I can replicate the holder!
Thanks for watching and commenting.
Hey Steve great video. Thanks .👍🏻
Thank you for watching and commenting.
I really enjoy your CZcams channel. This was a cool project. Thanks
Thank you for watching and commenting.
Great looking tool holde I just got a mill drill and lathe I definitely will be making one for my self eventually thank you for the video
Thank you for watching and commenting.
Good looking tool!
Thank you for watching and commenting.
Great video as always. I have some similar inserts I use on some wood turning tools I use. Never thought of using them on a metal lathe bit.
Great idea! I have seen them used on a wood lathe tool. Completely forgot about it going to have to make one for my son. Thank you for watching and commenting.
A great video as always Steven. Always look forward to seeing your CZcams posts.
I appreciate that! Thank you for watching and commenting.
Good job Steve, one of those is on my shopping list so I'll hold off for now incase I get lucky in the draw 😉.
Cheers, Dave.
You are in, good luck.
Great video I’m leaning a lot from you. Thanks Steve.
Noel

Nice making your own tool holders!
It doesn't always make good financial sense, but it is very satisfying. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Great presentation.

Nice handy lathe tool there. 👍
You may win one, thanks for watching and commenting.
That's an awesome tool Steve. I don't have one (yet), so it would be nice to be the lucky winner.

Nice video of the round carbide bit holder
Glad you liked it! Thank you for watching and commenting.
Nice job i have been thinking of making something similar
Go for it! Thank you for watching and commenting.
Very nice tool. I need to make one the that use some larger inserts the I have.
Thank you for watching and commenting.
Looks good Steve. I got an amazon cheapy version for round inserts last winter and love it for hard to cut mystery steel out of the scrap pile. One thing on my list is to make a couple more tool insert holders with some different geometry.
Andrew
Sounds like a plan. Thank you for watching and commenting.
Steve, that's a nice looking tool! I also hope that Monday morning isn't too late to participate in your drawing (operator error caused my laptop to be offline for about two weeks and I'm struggling to catch up). If I don't get _really_ lucky and win the drawing, I think I'll see if my mill-drill can cut the harder steel to make a nice tool-holder similar to yours!
You made it. I slept late this morning and will not be shooting the draw until this afternoon. You are in. Thanks for watching and commenting.
with tools ,,,, nothing is impossible ! !! weve been to the moon ! just let your imagination run wild ..! regards laurence
Thank you for watching and commenting.
Excellent job, Steve. I can't see hardening it as being necessary. I'm curious now how many of the commercial holders I have are actually hardened.
I am inclined to agree with you. The hardened surface may not hold the set screws well causing it to slip in the hold. Thank you for watching and commenting.
Very nice build Steve. Please enter me in the drawing for this tool. It will come in handy in my shop.
You're in! Thank you for watching and commenting.
Looks good Steven I have the same lathe and mill that you do so I should be able to make that holder. I've made others and the hardest part is finding the small screws to hold them in. I usually order them on Ebay. Please enter me into your drawing.
I have gotten them on Ebay but this time I ordered the screws and wrenches from Shars. Thank you for watching and commenting.
Been wanting one of these for a while. Now have guidance on how to make one if I don't win.
Thanks for watching and commenting.
Great video,Steve.Thank you and what is the white paste you use for tapping?
That is Anchor Lube from Stan Zinkowski, Bar Z
Hi Steven .. This was a very nice build, with the insert fitted. And yep you should be proud if it. Its a Shark Tool lol 😆 😂 🤣 . It has a lot of clearance around the tip, so it should give a nice cut. If you would like to add me into your draw, that would be great 👍. Thanks catch you on the next one
So far It has worked out great. Thank you for watching and commenting.
Great job Steve. Why aren't there more double ended cutting tools?
That is a good question. I don't think that I would like it, but I have seen some where there was a RH on one end and LH on the other.
Thanks for watching and commenting.
when needs must, you make it yourself. right? 👍👍
Even when it does not make sense. I probably spent more on materials than I could have purchased the holder for from Shars. Thank you for watching and commenting.
nice project Steve, where did you find those inserts.
The gold colored inserts came from an Ebay supplier several years ago so not exactly sure. The new gray colored inserts came from Shars. Thank you for watching and commenting.
I have looked at a lathe tool like this for my machine just haven't gotten off the wallet to purchase one. Wasn't sure if my little machine do well with it. Thank you for the video. If you would not mind would you inter me for the drawing. Thank you
Your in! Thank you for watching and commenting.
NOT ONLY IS MY LATHE DOWN, I HAVE MILL-ENVY, IN A BAD WAY.
I ORDERED MY TWO TEAR TAP TODAY. YA.....I JUST DOUBLE CHECKED MY ORDER. IT'S RH... SO I HAD TO CANCEL.
Been there done that. Thank you for watching and commenting.
Nice tool please enter my name in your draw. Thanks
You got it Thank you for watching and commenting.
