What is Mixed Reality?
It´s a way to record and show game play to serve a better understanding of how it feels to use Virtual Reality. It uses a green screen to later blend out the room you are playing in and instead blending in the virtual environment life or in video editing. So it´s only a way to show to the viewers, while playing i can´t see my wheel and real hands. So it´s not like Augmented Reality, which will maybe come in a few years and will look similar.
How you've recorded?
Real life footage is recorded with a Garmin Virb Ultra 30
In-game footage is recorded with nVidia Shadowplay
Edited with Adobe Premiere Pro 2017
My specs:
Intel i7 4790k, 16GB Ram, GTX 1080
Oculus Rift CV1

The 'real' arm waving after the contact was brilliant! :-) Nice appropriate steering wheel swap too.
Thanks for the feedback :-)
This is one of the coolest videos uploaded to platform called youtube
Thank you!
F1 Car Designers in the 60s: so how much grip do you want on your car
Team Boss: None
in turn demanding much more skill and discipline on the part of the driver. such is what made this the golden age, come correct sir.
Watching the in-game gear lever actually in sync with your shifts was really cool
That was his real lever...
This is so involving! I was on the edge of my seat the whole time haha
Thank you :-)
This is better to watch than the real thing.
4:30 hahaha now that's realism! Amazing
Only thing wrong is the lightning of the shifter and steering wheel compared to the rest of the scene =D if that last gfx flaw is eliminated it'd be perfect
Yes it's difficult to match especially with in-game lighting changing constantly. I tried once to match it almost frame my frame but the amount of work is incredible and if it's not correct it's even more noticeable than constantly wrong
@@MixedRealitySimRacing to be honest I didn't really notice it. But is it possible to configure it so the sun is right above (at midday) and then the lighting would not really change its angle and there would be no tree shadows? Only if you pass under a bridge or something.
Sure possible but would be the same every time
This has got to be one of your best works yet ! The angry arm gets me smiling everytime:)
:-) thanks, a bit sad that not that much have seen it yet even though I also think it's a really good one
This is so cool. The editing and the driving skills are amazing.
Still one of my most favorite cars in Assetto Corsa :-)
You just pushed me to give it a try .. on the nurburgring :O x)
This and the 98t for me
Same!
I end up in a wall 50 percent of the time but it's still fun to drive
@@trashpanda3902 I recently started to drive this car in iRacing. It's much more difficult there :D
This is really damn cool
Amazing and very immersing, as always !
Awesome vid as always!! :)
Good job, Marcel! The old Formula is the true Formula :)
Get Sideways Even if in 1967 127 drivers were killed across all motor sports
That Honda B32B V8 sound though😍
this is amazing to watch! nice!
Those saves
Mega Video.Danke dafür.Unglaublich wie du mit jedem Video wieder eine Schippe drauflegen kannst.😎😎
A very nice one Marcel. Enjoyed that.
Awesome man .. pretty insane experience .. If only I had some VR stuff x)
... einfach geil! Love it!!!
Flexing his wheels on us haha this is awesome
Btw is this an updated version of the track cause mine looks a little bit different
It's an older version that had an autumn layout. There is a newer one that got improved but is missing autumn.

dis looks well real
absolutely incredible I would not be able to enjoy it if it were mine cause I’d faint as soon as I sat in it ugh
Nice skills. And really nice immersion :) How do you do that ?
Echt klasse gemacht von dir mit dem Greenscreen usw , kannst du mal ein Video machen von deinem setup?
very immersive...
This was real f1 not nowdays
Mega this Video . See you Arms and Wheel ?
No, like mentioned in the description, it's fine in video editing afterwards
Very cool. Are the tires not quite accurate on turning the wheel? Curious. Thanks for sharing
what do you mean exactly?
@@MixedRealitySimRacing when you crank of the wheel a few times during the race the tires in the render seem limited in response. I'm assuming that it's just the game. Just curious though
I can't see what you describe
Andrew Boudreau it’s hard to see them turn from that vantage point though - plus there’s the degree of rotation setting on the wheel to consider.
Hey! I have the same MOMO Caterham rim! It's a dang good one!
Oh yeah, also with 280mm it has a really good size as I find the 260mm a faint too small especially going sideways. Originally it was in a Westfield SE (Caterham replica) but I liked the idea of using the old one in my simulator at home and get a new suede one for the car.
@@MixedRealitySimRacing Yeah.. you'll end up collecting a lot of rims... this is my wall of rims(excluding the MOMO) i.imgur.com/IpDHAoH.jpg
@@KayoMichiels nice collection, mine also grew a lot over the years but most of the time I'm using the same ones
Older version of the track but I understand if you wanted it for the colors. Cool video though!
Didn't look for a new version to be honest, is it a lot different? Will check and download it, thanks for the info!
@@MixedRealitySimRacing It is a substantial update. Some layout changes and overall much more accurate due to finding better data. It has no fall option though.
Fantastic video, Marcel - but of course, that doesn't surprise me at all. : ). And in my favorite car in AC, and the reason i started my Channel in the first place.
But LilSki3 - was there a reason you didn't add the AUTUMN option in your updated track, as I really miss that beautiful FALL look to the track.... ???
@@SingleRacerSVR I just didn't care to spend the time on the textures after rebuilding the track again. I also figured someone would have done their own textures for it since it was the thing to do for a while. I have another small update coming with new tree textures so maybe I can revisit the fall textures.
Firstly, I could understand the sheer frustration it might give you, trying to find the time to do all this work on the track. But if there WAS? a way you could add that FALL option again LilSki3, it would be fantastic. I say this especially because Creators now would be so used to seeing the same green trees on every track they feature. So given there seems to be a new Sim-Racing Channel every month now, to have a track with many Autumn Colored Leaves as a point of difference, just MIGHT? give your track an extra few featured video's, due to the nice color change from the bland green that most tracks naturally have??? (I know I would immediately do a new video on it ; )
How are people recording augmented reality gameplay? I know you can do mixed the with chromakeying, but having your hands seems a bit harder.
How do you do that! :OOO
Your PC must be damn masterrace 😱
I7 4790k and a gtx1080
@@MixedRealitySimRacing ok I expected some supercomputing Nerd shit, but this is a "normal" rig. Cool job!
Hint : Use Grand Prix Legends mod ;)
do you actually get to see your real life setup as we see it while playing?
No, it's done with video editing afterwards
@@MixedRealitySimRacing with greenscreen
Just wondering how are the buttons connected of the McLaren GT3 wheel to your computer? Is it a regular USB cable and you had it conveniently plugged out before starting the video? :)
It's the Fanatec Quick release with integrated plug for the electronic connection, you don't know this?
@@MixedRealitySimRacing ahh. I never tried Fanatec wheels. I am using OSW motor and wheel, and those use cables. I am considering making a wireless usb connector myself.
Ok, that's the cool thing about Fanatec, it's integrated in the quick release
You can even see the connection of the quick release when I turn the wheels around and pull the mclaren one off
You left your mclaren steering wheel at the start
You really should put on a racing overall or at least something with long sleeves. The bare arms are spoiling the illusion quit a bit...
thanks, getting colder now in autumn so I can try next time, but in general I don't do this a lot because sitting inside of 360 degrees of greenscreen, a lamp above you and fighting against FFB you heat up quickly.
track ?
