What is Mixed Reality?
It´s a way to record and show gameplay to serve a better understanding of how it feels to use Virtual Reality. It uses a greenscreen to later blend out the room you are playing in and instead blending in the virtual environment life or in video editing. So it´s only a way to show to the viewers, while playing i can´t see my wheel and real hands. So it´s not like Augmented Reality, which will maybe come in a few years and will look similar.
Your Specs?
Intel i7 4790k, 16GB Ram, GTX 980Ti
Oculus Rift CV1
Speedmaster V2 seat
Fanatec Clubsport Wheel Base V2
Fanatec BMW GT2 Rim
Fanatec Clubsport Shifter SQ
Fanatec Clubsport Pedals V2
How you´ve recorded?
Real life footage is recorded a GoPro Hero3
In-game footage is recorded with nVidia Shadowplay
Edited with Sony Vegas 12 - Hry
when it comes to demonstrating Virtual reality. you're the man!!! :-)
This captures the insanity pretty well, my first VR trip up on that banking was real 'brown pants' stuff
Why are there 5 dislikes?! There is not a single reason to dislike this amazing video :) THAT is simracing in the (hopefully) near future :) Great video!
Haha, hit thumbs up after 10 seconds already. Very nice! Now I want VR...
LOL! love it... great editing. Truely demonstrates how it feels to race in VR
Now that is a classic Italy at its finest!
drivers back then had huge balls to race... man and the machine...
This was superb. That guy going back on track was so irresponsible... Almost crashing in VR must feel a bit terrifying.
Only 8 dislikes on a 25K+ views video!! That's a crazy ratio man! Keep up the great work, I LOVE your videos!
+DeltaInsanity
Thanks!
Absolut geiler Einstieg!!!! Hammer!!! Congratulations!!! :-)!!!
That was great. The gesture at the end was the iceing
Thank you so much Marcel. This is probably as close as I’m gonna get to see F1 cars from this era racing, in action, with great quality. You really took it to the next level. Congratulations and keep’ em coming!!
and the over the shoulder camera looks cool too
I applaud the effort you put in, good job dude.
Schön dass hier auch die „Kurva Grande“ befahren wird. In der Formel 1 tut man dies seit 1962 nicht mehr (da starb von Trips im GP auf dieser Kurve).
You deserve way more views man, this is great stuff!
Thanks for the AWESOME history lesson!
You forgot the leather driving gloves for crying out loud!
Great job as always, Marcel. This looks even more fun!
... ganz großes Kino, ich fühlte mich wirklich gut unterhalten ... genial ... ;)
Man, this is your best video ever !!!
Klasse video, wird nie langweilig! :)
a mix of a mix! great :D
Der Vintage "Helm" ist einsame spitze!!
+basZero RACING
Oh ja, das muss ich unbedingt wiederholen
Awsome video!
You re the Man ! Subscribing...
Sehr tolles Video, weiter so!
Pure driving!
Nice gameplay! You should do more often black-and-white videos. Love it.
+Ronja Schuhmann
And I love you
Great intro!
Awsome videos!
Awesome !!!
Cool video.
Brilliant!
amazing!!
Its good, but you could add some camera shaking to look it more realistic, too smooth =)
I love the hat
looks great ..
amazing!
Wonderful
génialissime !
Just a nice breezy Sunday drive...
Cool!
面白いゲームですね!!
Magnifico
There's got to be a way that one could do this in actual gameplay. Mount two compact cameras (GoPro Hero 5 Session?) on the Rift, one for each eye, and chroma-key the live feeds over the gameplay in realtime would be the best thing I could think of
ehrm, you're into VR, you see the wheel in front of you... the game wheel. Which is better.
Galf506 No kidding. I'm just musing aloud a solution to be able to see your actual hands, and actual wheel, along with other controls such as shifters and button boxes.
Galf506 Being able to see your hands and your gear in VR would be way better
espetacular
I wonder what the reaction was when old cars started spitting flames XD
Now put the perspective into real life! Balls!
this is just too much. the helmet hahaha
helmet time ........number one
1. Wow, super gefahren!
Ok, vielen Dank!!!
Wow, that inner lap was so confusing
These cars are not easy to drive this fast. :D
To improve realism: get a motion seat, create lightning that match in game surroundings.
laos85: For further improved realism, have a scent generator that releases the smell of melting tires whenever you skid 😉
Yo I like how you started this video try it more
Since you're a great driver and helped once some time ago with tips that helped me immensely, let's see if I'm lucky again. Do you have tips on how to brake with this car? I have a lot of trouble braking with the v6 and v12 versions as well as the lotus type 25. With these cars, when I apply brakes, as soon as I downshift it just starts skidding and it only stops if I apply a little bit of gas, but some times I can't do it since I'm entering a corner. Used the replay once to see what happens and one of the rear wheels just starts smoking and skidding, and even if I let go of the brakes it continues until I give some throttle. I don't understand at all. Would it be some differential thing? The other time you gave me an explanation about understeering and oversteering that was the best I got. Anyways, awesome channel, always good to see great driving.

You have to start braking gently before you press the brakes more and try to downshift later when rpms are not very high, this makes the car more stable. Those old cars need very gentle and slow inputs, give the car time to react because it's very soft. Also you can try to set coast differential a bit higher and brake balance a little bit more to the front
It makes a lot of sense. I'll try it soon. Thanks for the tips again, man.
@@MixedRealitySimRacing You can shift quite aggressively in this, you just need to rev match your shifts (heel and toe)
@@hmleao You're describing shift lockup, you need to rev match your down shifts, either learn how to heel and toe or turn on the auto blip setting in AC
man i wish i have your setup
Uh, funny, my Corsa does the exact same thing in the corners.
It's definitely funnier in VR, tho. Without traffic incoming.
Funny thing, that TCS thing...
Hello mate, great video! Would you mind to share your video settings? I am struggling to have a sharper image in AC with CV1. I actually get a GTX1070 and still very demanding. Wish you can help!
open the oculus.ini in "username/documents/assetto corsa/cfg" and set
"PIXEL_PER_DISPLAY=1.5" then it renders the image with 150% of the resolution the oculus has. Ingame I have medium to high settings, doens´t make that much af a difference i think and is most personal prefference. Also disable vsync in the graphics options, it causes performance issues and is done buy the oculus software anyway.
Thanks
How about Mafia 1 ?)
That wheel fucking makes it. Who made it and how much?
I used the universal hub from fanatec, you can bolt almost anywheel on it. The wheel itself I got from ebay, it´s from an old roadcar, I think it was a VW but nut sore which one exactly.
Is it me or do these cars slide all over the place?
Must be annoying with the wheel moving around
I guess technology isnt rady just yet
is it worth it to sim racing with oculus cv1?
Regis Souza
Of course
I've tried it and it actually makes a bigger difference than I thought it would. Just the ability to look into a corner and track the apex makes a huge difference.
Yeah that´s absolutely amazing and with that good scale and 3D it´s sooo close to sitting in a real car
Do you also smear oil on your face?
+Hunger Cult Films Ltd
I take baths in it
you should sell your ideas not free like this :V
