Great video! I've been watching soooo many plant care videos during this lockdown, and I have just bought a new Schefflera tree to replace the one I had for 20 years (it died, I cried 🤣) I have never commented on a video before, but I found yours to be engaging and funny and so natural. It made me giggle when you said new shoots on this plant are like doll hands because I tell everyone who cares to listen that new shoots remind me of a baby Deadpool hand 🤣 Keep making these vids! It's helped an idiot like me who is not in the least bit green fingered to understand how to care for (and not kill!) my beautiful new plant 😊

I LOVE these lil dudes!! I grew up with a mom that loved houseplants and this was one of her faves. Her oldest got over 10 years old and was a few feet tall (taller than me at the time). Another houseplant that I think doesn't get enough love is the split leaf philodendron (both being tropicals). I've got a mini schefflera and look forward to many years with it.
For the record, Kevin is pretty rad. I know you give that baby kisses allll the time so give him a squeeze for me lol!!

after 10 years, my tree is surprising me with with blossoms. They are messy, but also very nice.

I grow mine in full sun 🌞 and this is the only plant that doesn't burn when I take it out in spring. Propagation in soil is not difficult if you stick a branch in your garden. It takes a long time but after two three months you will have established plant. It's easy plant and many people have it. It's just not rare plant and that's why people don't talk about it. If you forget to water it for more than a month it will drop leaves. I water mine when I remember. Maybe on average every two three weeks. Sometimes I may forget to water one or two months. Off course if it's a small plant it needs more attention but since mine is well established I don't have to worry about it.
i bought this plant for my mother on mothers day of 2018. Hes so tall now and gorgeous. I never knew what kind of plant he was till today. Now i want one :)

I got one of these from my aunt, it’s tall with one twig and all the leaves are on that one twig. Not sure how to get new shoots on bottom of plant.
hi, ive been growing my plant since I was in 3rd grade, around 12 years! i grew it from a seed. recently it started dropping a TON of leaves and its never really done that in the past. Its also SUPER tall and only has 2 thick growing off stems from the base, looks like a v. Its taller than me so more than 5'5 prob close to 6ft but its not very thick :(. how would you recommend that I deal with the lankeyness of my plant, i want it to be thiccc, I am afraid of chopping a piece off bec I dont want it to die. Also what do I do about the leaves falling out?
I have a single stem schefflera. If I prune it, would it grow multiple stems or one stem off last node?

Mine is jus one like stalk and it's not growing ive had it over a year it was growing but it was like soon as it grew a new leaf a bottom one would fall off so it never really grew but I've noticed in the last month or so it hasn't grown at all n I'm jus wondering if u maybe could help me find out why? It's in a South east facing window

I've had mine for a few months, it's doing well in the south facing window, no leaf burn, but I haven't seen any new growth on it. Quick question: do the stems split at all into several main stems if you prune the top? The one I bought is a single stem, that's already relatively tall.
Thank goodness for this comment. I’ve got my new umbrella plant in a south facing window and I’ve been so concerned about leaf burn. This makes me feel better, but I’ll still keep an eye on it

Hi so I need help lol. I have an umbrella tree, not a dwarf, and it’s probably like 10 feet tall and I don’t know what to do with it. It’s indoors, in a pot, and it’s becoming very top heavy and can no longer stand on its own anymore

I bought mine at a grocery store for $5 it was beautiful for about a month, then the leaves just started falling, no yellowing. I keep it near a well lit window so I’m confused as to what’s wrong with it

I'd called my Fiddle-Leaf fig tree "Newton" (as in "fig newton").
Newton had gotten too big, so a neighbor took him. (She'd called and told me that she'd "cut the branches way back" after they'd gotten to her house).
If I'd known, I wouldn't have given "him" away.
I can still "see Newton" disappearing down the alley on a little kid's wagon...to be slaughtered.😥😣

Could not agree more with Crystal Chi I came to watch a vlog on how to care for my umbrella plant and all you did was bring attention to a bloody dog. Do us all a favour and remove the vlog. At least then we the viewer will not waste our precious time and you can waste yours on that flea bag!!
