When you're wondering about people's travel watercolor setup and you decide to see if there's anything at all on CZcams... This is JUST WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR!!!! Perfect!!!!!!
I’ve actually been enjoying your painting as much or more than the bicycle related stuff! Keep on sharing.
You are good at challenging the adventure in people. Thanks dude
Thanks for sharing your passions.... very cool, man! Love to see more of your work....
Thanks for the inspiration Russ. I'm not surprised but I didn't realize you had an artistic hand.
Off to nature now!
Great job! I listened to the podcast with Maria. Kind of want to get back into taking art supplies with me. Thanks for all of this content
You're impressive! Your style is organic and loose, yet still accurate. I really like it! I might pick these items up for my girlfriend, she painted on a recent roadtrip and dunking her brush into the cup of water in the center console got pretty messy haha. Thanks!
This channel definitely deserves more subs!
I have been thinking about taking art supplies in my next bivvy ride, seeing your recent paintings i am going to give it a go.
I'm definitely going to add a watercolor prime to the Dirty Spokanza next year!
Hey, Russ! Very nice! I really like Koh-i-noor's stackable watercolor "wheel" travel set. Great color vibrancy and very space efficient.
Erik
That Pepper cartoon is so cool!
That was really interesting. I never knew... I've been a "bike photographer" for half a century... Maybe I should try this. Thanks Russ.
You can also use that pinsel sharpener to make fire kindling kinda like feather sticks without the stick
This is fun stuff, and there are many ways to modify your kit as you see fit. James Gurney has many great tips on his CZcams channel as well. I draw a lot on the subway, and carry gouache and watercolors on my bike.
Crazyyyy. I bought that exact same watercolor kit and exact same topo designs bag for my wife last December for her travel kit.
Great taste!
Thanks for the pentallic pad recommendation I have been using Moleskin watercolor pads but they are hot press and too smooth for my taste....the Pentallic paper has a nice tooth
Can you do a video on how you do these amazing pichters? Keep up the great work!!!
So Rad!
This is awesome! Can you show us your technique or workflow? I have most of what you show here but seem to be paralyzed on where to start.
what do use for a chair and easel? Thank you for your videos
One thing that I tend to carry is watercolor postcards. A good sturdy paper and tend to hold up well in my pack. Also Blackburn makes a tool wrap that holds pens. Sharpener and my paints perfectly.
yes. its designed to do that.
Path Less Pedaled thanks. I have always carried a winsor and newton cotman set with me.
You are so talented. I thought you only ride bikes.
Great artwork. Do you sell any of your paintings?
Where did you buy the half pans of paynes grey, gum bosh red and sepia ?
How did you swap them easily without breaking the plastic
You're good. Have you been doing this long?
I carry spray cans.
Subscribed. :)
May I ask how did you remove the paint from your Koi set? I have the one with metallic and fluorescent colors and I was thinking about removing and refilling them, but the paint is glued into that very thin plastic and I fear I will break it if I try to get them out.
Very carefully with a screwdriver.
@@PathLessPedaledTV Did you break the paint blocks? Was it very close to damage the plastic? I have just tried with a knife but the paint block started to crumble and I don't want to damage them, I wish to keep them, they are nice colors.
@@moma-b yes. Broke the paint blocks.
@@PathLessPedaledTV Oh no. Then I guess I'll just wait until I use them up. It's not a big amount of paint, it will happen quickly.
Thank you. :)
Any tips or resources to learn technique for beginners?
Yeah. Some great youtube channels out there. My current faves:

Sweet, thanks!
Udo Lindenberg likes to paint using liquor...
Watercoloring is soooo 1890s! Bikesculpting is the biggest fad now, but it will soon be dethroned by bikepuppeteering. Just kidding, Russ.
Bike puppeteering has already been done with Howie the USA's puppet laureate. czcams.com/video/59jivheKvw8/video.html
