    You forgot to mention that we're essentially out of water. Wells are running dry, subdivisions have to ship water in from other neighborhoods, lawns are brown, the lakes are going dry, ect.

    We live in the Midwest and for the last seven years we've spent Feb/Mar in New Braunfels.............I think the city has doubled in size. It's almost gotten too busy and congested for us. The condo we rent overlooks the Comal and it's still nice and peaceful. We enjoy watching the tubers and sitting on the covered balcony instead of looking out the window at snow back home.

    Great video, thanks! We're thinking of making the jump to Texas in a few years, New Braunfels is on our short list. You provided some great insight on what to expect, both good and bad, if we choose NB. I'm from California but I get a pass, LOL! My employer is in Austin and my wife is originally from McAllen, she still has family there, and in Houston too. 🇨🇱

    Traffic has gotten worse over the years. I remember when I was a kid, NB was small and rural and no traffic. Now it might as well be San Antonio! All this traffic and people pushed me out of my Birth Place.

    1. NB is not a suburb of SA to anyone except developers and salesmen. It is it's own town 2. Landa Park has been amazing for hundreds of years, but now with all the new developments, the springs are dry and even the swimming holes are closed, dry pits. The last thing the current residents want is more suburban neighborhood developments soaking up all our water to keep their lawns green. Why further promote an area already being ruined by over exploitation?

    I think in between San Antonio and Austin Tx. I think the two cities they should build a Commuter rail system with modern trains to help the I-35 traffic

      I agree. We need water first and “mass transit” second.
      I don’t like this guy who says he is from New Braunfels yet throws us under a bus. And are we a “suburb” of San Antonio????

    • @LifeinSATX
      @LifeinSATX  Před rokem +2

      Lol. Who’s throwing anyone under the bus? Did you even watch the video or did you just see one con? I love New Braunfels and talked quite positively about it in this video and multiple others. Did you watch any of them or did you just make one assumption and start trolling from there?
      And New Braunfels is definitely a suburb of San Antonio. Not sure what your definition of a suburb is if you don’t think New Braunfels is one.

    New Braunfels, like the rest of Texas, is being ruined by California transplants smh. The housing market has been completely destroyed for us locals. And everything’s so overcrowded now. It sucks hard. They all stick out like a sore thumb too.

    • @LifeinSATX
      @LifeinSATX  Před rokem +5

      Ruined? How so? Have you had any conversations with these transplants moving here? I’ve worked with hundreds of people moving here from the west coast who are moving here specifically because they want to be in Texas where the values they cherish that aren’t valued in California are valued here. That’s the case for 99.9% of these people. They’re great. Lots of people coming here for sure which makes everything more crowded but that’s just the nature of life.

    Canyon Lake….lots of public beaches??? There are two and you have to pay a fee.
    New Braunfels is running out of water so why don’t you spend some time being proactive and delve into what the State, County and City are doing about it instead of pushing your real estate business. We need more reservoirs!
    And you don’t need to advertise for Comal County, plenty of California and Houston residents moving here already.

    • @LifeinSATX
      @LifeinSATX  Před rokem +6

      Bless your heart.
      Name another local lake with any public beaches.
      I’m curious, you seem to feel so strongly about the city “running out of water”. What are you doing about it other than being a keyboard warrior? Texas has droughts. This one is bad yes, but we’ve had worse multiple times.
      This channel is specifically to help anyone and everyone moving to the San Antonio area. If you don’t like it, you can move on. My job is to be the resource for people moving here and I’ll continue doing that.

      Explain how any single person can “ruin” an area. New Braunfels has been growing like this since I was going to school just down the road in Seguin. Everything the city has from Gruene, to Creekside, to the rivers, Wurstfest, and Schlitterbahn is what brings everyone here. When they visit they love it and want to move here.
