- The T9 IJN CA Ibuki is significantly more enjoyable to play after the recent buffs, increasing both the reload and the dispersion. It does however still suffer from the same weaknesses, namely large citadel and non-existent armor. You can find my recommended build at the end.

Ibuki players always go broadside and gets away with it, but when they decide to think the zao is so much better and get in front of a battleship at 7km it gets deleted.

Ran double rudder shift MBM3 spotter plane Ibuki during my grind of the ship which made it one of my favorite T9 grinds while pretty much all my friends and clanmates in the game who ground to Zao ranked the Ibuki grind up there with the pre buff Izumo.

Flamu could you do a video about the Kroshtand or Musahsi choice? Since they are leaving, I’m wondering which one to pick I don’t like my Russian cruisers much but I like the Shanhorst like ships (Azuma coal please) and while I’m going for Yamato, I lack an IJN BB trainer What should I do?
Kronshtadt, or Musashi? Dont like your soviet CAs? You need an IJN BB trainer? Then Kronshtadt its so easy!
If you have yamato take kronstadt. If not take musashi.
You like Scharnhorst, you like Kronstadt. You get Kronstadt, you get a big Scharnhorst, giving you:
Credits, and a tier 9 ship that is different (and not really as good as Musashi.)
You're grinding IJN BBs. You like Yamato, you like Musashi, and vice versa. Getting Musashi, you get:
A cheaper to play Yamato (Yay! Credits! But also same old same old.) Musashi is also a straight up downgrade of Yamato. And also a IJN BB trainer.

Feels a bit like T8 premium Atago. 10km torps, heal, fast rudder and speed(my Atago hit 37knots), kite and burn bbs, poor armor that gets overmatched a lot, overall one of my favourite.
It's a strange situation , the Ibuki is a boat that a lot of people complain about and yet i really liked it , i think it's probably the fastest ship ive gone through at tier 9 but if she's getting buffed i'll definitely consider rebuying her for the upcoming ranked season
I'd agree, currently grinding ibuki and damn do I find it fun. Maybe it's because I've played so much RN CLs that I personally find it rather "tanky" and it handles well sooooo...youre not alone?
I’ve had the same experience a few times - I actually sat at t6 Cleveland refusing to get Pensacola because everyone was saying it was so terrible, and when I finally got it I felt it was really strong as long as I played smart. Kept hearing the same thing about North Carolina as well, especially in ranked (where people kept saying it was a bad choice compared to Bismarck/Tirpitz or Amagi), but I’ve always loved playing that ship and don’t even mind facing t10s since it plays so well.
(And then of course, everyone says Bismarck and the German BB line is really powerful in randoms and competitive at higher tiers, but I never really felt like the higher tiers worked for me)
GG. I've managed to get one solo warrior, but not as great as this one. I didn't have a running gun battle and wasn't spotted until time ran out. And I've a new in game tag, w/l bad, achievements are so so. And now that you did so well on console, wow legends, are you going to join the ps4 or xbox ranks?

Huh....just opened this ship up, but I don't get the spotter plane option on it. All I have access to in that slot is a fighter plane. Was it removed in one of the recent updates? (didn't see any notes about it in the latest notes, but I could have missed it)
Couldn't you use the twitch vod for the moskva commentary?
What are you supposed to look for when you change to torp aim to know the direction? An indicator? Smoke? An arrow? I have no idea

Please still do the Moskva commentary. Interesting to hear your opinion on it, especially with new 50mm bow part and legendary mod.
KG Guitar The 50mm plating really doesn't effect her play style much, but the unique module is a tough sell. When you factor in the loss of the concealment module.
50mm allows her to be a bit more agressive vs BBs without a fear of being oneshot through the nose if Moskva has more than half of it's HP left.
And her legendary mod goes to Slot 6, not Slot 5, so concealment stays same.
It then is a question whether you want more range, more accurate guns and some range, or 9 second reload. Honestly the new plating does not change her play style of mid to long range fire support and angled bow tanking, however it does give you the opportunity to play bow in at close range, just because it is there does not mean that you will get away with that type of play.
Yeah. Hence why I am asking Flamu to share his opinion on those. Maybe he has his own vision on it.

For The last 3 points on captain I would rather to torpedo reload perk. Zao and Ibuki has amazing torpedoes I think you underestimated them a bit

that's no lock on dispersion . IJN cruisers have dd dispersion formula , making them on of the accurate cruiser lines

Every ship ship in the game can be played well.. The British BB can citadel this Cruiser with HE in any angle..In this ship one single misstake is your END.. The Myoko is a MONSTER now at tier 7.
I hope the cruiser broad side buff comes soon, cruisers are to squishy...
Praos Crihdoe I'd probably advocate for CA deck armour buffs first, before going 'ham fisted' with the upper belt armour. Some ships ie. Myoko's key advantage over its' competition is the existence of said armour.
I just bought my ibuki, but didn't find spotting plane consumables on it, some upgrades also not there as yours ...... I'm in NA server btw
wiranto wicaksono The fighter plane can be swapped for the spotter in the same way hydro and def AA can be. While the upgrades can be bought in the Arsenal for coal under "Upgrades".

Tried out the Myoko after the buffs and to be honest I'm quite disappointed. The buffs it has gotten don't feel anywhere near enough to compensate the flaws it still has. I would rather have seen that they buffed handling and armor before the dpm which was actually quite damn good already.
Gundolf300 her primary issue is her gun arcs, which intended to be a balancing factor for it's strong armour.
EDIT: The buffs are more 'quality of life', playing to her strengths and keeping a continuous 'national flavour' of heavy HE power, with heavy alpha strike with HE and AP.
@@n00btotale Well true. But her biggest strength is her broadside and greatest weakness is her citadel. That would be fine if it was limited to being citadeled for just giving broadside but atm you don't really have any chance at all to evade incoming shells. And not even to ability to proper angle against 203:s making the new buffs more or less impossible to make full use of. Again. Would rather hav seen a buff in handling than guns.
Every time you fire your guns you get a benefit from the buffs, and every time you turn them, you benefit. Have you played pre buff Myoko with the 42.5 second turret traverse? Compared to her contemporaries, she is quite a bit stronger now after her buffs. No amount of cruiser manoeuvrability will allow Myoko to play like a Zao at tier 7 solely because of the firing arcs. Could they buff the rearward arcs on 155mm Mogami and Myoko a bit? Yes, but I doubt they would for balance reasons. Myoko has similar armour to Ibuki at tier 7, and 155mm Mogami has more DPM than Zao.
cossack is detonating so easy... that ship gave me the first time the feeling really to need that detonation flag... ridiculous.
Salvo. You are shooting salvos. Volley is massed small arms fire. Salvo is for big guns like cannons

You are a good player no question, but your resetting at the time the musashi was in that cap was a bit pointless, except of the damage you dealt out at that time.

I'm not sure why this ship gets as much hate as it does. Compared to mogami it seems so good, especially as mogami is as squishy but doesn't have a heal, or the range to kite, you can play 155 ifhe and try to be a shitty cleveland with crap firing arcs, but yeah >.> Ibuki is still squishy but at least you're a great kiter and most things that underestimate you just get their shit kicked in because at max range no US cruiser will hit you and other than the USSR ones most cruisers do too, you can go dark and sneak out of trouble almost like a DD.
Upgrading to ibuki felt great, unlike buffalo which was only a minor upgrade, seattle which felt like a substantial downgrade (havent played the other t9 cruisers myself) Ibuki just feels like it has a use and a specific role, unlike mogami which is basically outclassed by everything else whose roles it tries to fill.
LYON has 340mm
i consider range or legendary module way better on Zao, and on Ibuki its range upgrade is the only thing that makes it worth it...range gives it a good chance to dodge shells as u CANT get hit.

This match is a perfect example of an economy that does not reward superb/clever/on the spot gaming enough. That was a match I consider a million credits worth at least.
Also the base XP you earned for this is a bad joke.
In a Missouri or a TIX equivalent you just have to do 150K damage or so and you earn a million without doing anything special.
Ringo Wunderlich 'Pay to progress' and to a lesser extent 'pay to win'. Missouri still gets the same amount of base xp, but reward multipliers are far higher with her...

While you were farming damage on the Kii, you could’ve shot the red DD. You could have killed the Donskoi and/or Hipper. Later you were very slow to switch to the Hipper giving you a nice broadside.
Yes you won Solo Warrior, but you set a bad example. You ignored a DD in another recent video as well.
Huh? They had 3 DDs, one which I shot and killed as soon as I had the firing angle. The Benson was caught with 4k hp next to a Lightning, with my entire north fleet behind him, my help was not needed. And how on earth could I have killed the Donskoi? He was full hp with all heals, never had any decisive moment I could kill him.
As for the Hipper, he is a non-existent threat and finishing the Kii kill was much more important for the points as well as preventing him from just healing up and returning (which he did later). My DD could run from the Hipper and I could kill him at any point. I have no idea what you are talking about, and I don't think you know either.
Flamu - 1:00 looked like you had a shot on the Hipper who has no heal. 1:20 why not kill the Benson? 4:40 time to burn the Hooper, and even you mention that you missed a chance to miss AP on the Hipper.
What bothers me the most is your statement that a cruiser’s role is to do damage. I’ve learned a great deal from your videos, but this is a bad lesson for all of the damage farmers in this game.
Last but not least, why so sensitive and rude? I’ve commented on your videos before but this is the first time I mentioned any criticism. Get over yourself and stop looking at the world out of your belly button window.
