I agree anything the creator of earthworm Jim is at least gonna have some creativity in it.
My memory with this show was that Mr Bilk was a playable character in the DS version of Nicktoons: Attack of the Toybots.

This show was basically Nickelodeon's version of Ed, Edd n Eddy as Cats and I loved it!
How does catscratch remind you of ed edd n eddy what do the two shows have in common?

@Marvin Lett Simple, they're very similar to each other. Only difference is that one it's about 3 boys with the same name who are out to go try to get into crazy slapstick-humored misadventures and getting jawbreakers by scamming other kids for their money; while the other is about 3 cats who are brothers, plenty wealthy and get into all kinds of crazy mischief and whatnot the same way the eds do it.

I can vouch for him, the source material for Catscratch was much darker and had stuff like death, giant robots and even stuff about Heaven and Hell.
It looks like the test footage had the characters resemble how they looked in the original source material. Also the only thing from the comic that made it to the show was their car’s name (gear), also the ending to the book is quite something and I won’t spoil it here.

catscratch was one of my favorite cartoons when I was little but I barely got to see it before it disappeared. the kraken episode was the one I remembered the most, then there was an episode about a scary movie that freaked out 7 year old me
I also remember loving waffle the most and wishing I could hug him. I saw a toy of him once in an office and was sad I couldnt keep it
I feel like this is one of the most underrated *and maybe even unappreciated* show in nick's library, I honestly loved all the characters *waffle being my personal favorite* the animation was very nice and vibrant *from the likes of Doug tenapel of earthworm Jim fame* the world itself was rather good, very wacky but never overkill with the jokes, I enjoyed many of the episodes as well, with maybe 1 or 2 episodes being weak, but I still watch them, the theme song is really catchy, if only Nick can actually release this on DVD or blu ray, I'd totally get it asap.
Such an underrated classic.

For some reason I vividly remember this. I remember the butler being a rockstar and the black cat going hobo.
By the way, The creator Doug Tenapel is also the creator of Earthworm Jim and the Neverhood.
You can also see the cats' designs in a comic by Doug called Gear.

Growing up I really loved this show, definitely a very underrated show that deserved more attention.
I actually agree 🙂 this is literally one of the most underrated *and maybe even unappreciated* show in nick's catalogue, which is a bit of a shame, especially with the timing it came out *2005. Where spongebob was doing rather successful, and avatar: the last airbender was rising up* I really loved this show.
razor chance Yeah. Nick didn’t say why it cancelled the show, but I think the answer is rather obvious. Catscratch happened to come out in 2005, which happened to be the high point in Spongebob, Avatar, and FOP’s popularity, and it coincidently got only 1 season after somehow getting low viewings from a mysterious lack of promotion. See what I mean?
@@suggividion2728 yeah, the first spongebob movie was a huge success, so the show gained even more popularity, at that time I didn't care about fairly odd parents but I believe at that time it was around when poof was going to be born, and again avatar was already hitting the highs, and again it's a shame that Nick didn't market or advertise the show well enough, I think the only merchandise I remember was toys from burger king, *correct me if I'm wrong on anything, thanks* and not much else, it's sad really.

Catscratch was actually a loose adaptation of Doug TenNapel's comic called Gear which was like very different from the show we know and it was dark too. But imagine if Doug did brought it back could it get an movie or special on Netflix just like Invader Zim or can it get a new show which is more based on the comics which it was based on.
Maybe, but Dong is working on Bigfoot Bill 2 and a new Earthworm Jim game. So we might have to wait a longer time to see that happen.

The first time I saw it, I thought Waffle was a rabbit, and Blik was an Egyptian creature because of the ears. Gordon was the only one I could discern as a regular cat.
You should do a video about the nickelodeon TV show called My Dad the Rockstar. That show came on nickelodeon around the same time as Cat Scratch.

One season? I thought this show was longer when I was younger
I assumed so too considering I saw more episodes on NicktoonsNetwork than Nickelodeon.
Catscratch has officially 20 episodes. However, these episodes were all segmented, meaning that two different 11 minute episodes would play in the time slot of one 23 minute episode (extra minute because of Intro and credits). It was like episode 1a was about them going to the moon, and episode 1b was about them facing an evil mouse. So, there were actually 40 episodes in total, but they’re all segments.
LOVED this show because they looked just like my three cats!! 😭😭
OMG I loved watching Catscratch on Nickelodeon when I was a kid. I was born in the late 90’s but I grew up in the 00’s and I loved these classic Nicktoons aside from watching SpongeBob SquarePants daily. This show was severely underrated.

One of the best theme songs I called Catscratch cat versions of Ed Edd n Eddy.
I think it’s obvious that Cat Scratch stole & copied Ed Edd N Eddy since they are all like the same with same similar personalities to each other that we all should know Ed Edd N Eddy came out way long back before Cat Scratch was even a thing

I loved this show! I had the honor of having Doug TenNapel as a professor 3 years ago in college he's a very nice and cool guy!
I admire the creator for his interesting style & sense of humor. The original character designs for the cats were stylized in a cool way that I wish we got to see more of.
This, My Dad's A Rockstar, YakityYak, and The X's are forgotten as well as Late 2000s shows like Tak, the Mighty B! & El Tigre. Can't forget their anime type related show too (Shurikan School anyone?)
