  • We're tempted to take the doctrine of the Trinity for granted. But there is scarcely any belief unaffected when we get the Trinity wrong.

The one God in the bible, is known as the Father. Mal 2:10; Eph 4:6. A triune definition of the one God, will make the Father to be a triune being. God being solitary being, does not negate his unity as God.

I will never be filled with the fullness of God without the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
The Bible clearly gives emphasis to the nature of these Persons in the Godhead.
Take away one of them and I will never be complete the way i am right now.

According to Col 2:9 the fulness of the Godhead dwells in Jesus Christ, bodily. This means that God cannot be found outside of Jesus. In verse 10, the believer is complete in him. Two others do not have to be with him, for the believer to be complete in him.

Based on the three last lines of your comment, one can also conclude that, to take away any person of God, you do not have God. This is why the trinity cannot be true.

Jesus did infact claimed to be God. These are many examples. And before misinterpreting these passages read the gospels as it shows that The Jewish people and the Priests many times understood Jesus was Claiming equality with God and claiming to be God and as a result tried stoning snd killing him multiple times. John 10 33 for example.
He claimed that He was Lord of the Sabbath with the authority over it (Mark 2:23-28).
He took the divine name “I AM” for Himself (John 8:58, from Exodus 3:14).
He said that the way to the Father is through Him (Matthew 11:27, John 14:1-7).
He made Himself equal with God (John 5:18).
He claimed that whoever saw Him saw the Father (John 14:9).
When He was given the opportunity to correct people treating Him as if He were God, He didn’t (Matthew 26:63-65, John 19:7-10).
He claimed to have descended from heaven (John 3:13).
He claimed to have the power to raise himself from the dead (John 2:19, 10:17-18).
He claimed to be replacing the temple (John 2:19-21), which was the place known to house God’s presence and the forgiveness of sins.
He claimed to share “glory” with God before the world existed (John 17:5).
He claimed to be sent from Heaven (John 6:38, John 4:34, John 3:13).
He claimed He would send His angels (Matthew 13:41, Luke 12:8-9).
He claimed the authority to forgive sins (Mark 2:5).
He assumed the authority to judge the world (Mark 14:62) and that one’s attitude toward Him would impact the end of their life (Matthew 10:32-33).
He claimed to be perfectly sinless (John 8:46).
He claimed that to know Him was to know God (John 8:19), to see Him was to see God (John 12:45), and to receive Him was to receive God (Mark 9:37).
He claimed, “I and the Father are one” (John 10:29-33), which was not lost on Jewish listeners, who responded, “You, a mere man, claim to be God” (verse 33).
In His teachings, He consistently demonstrated authority over the Law, or Torah, most notably in the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5-7).
Repent to Jesus for Jesus is coming again to judge this world. May he not say to you "I never knew you, depart from me you who practice lawlessness."

The point of the Trinity is not to question the single essence of God, but rather to comprehend the energies of God, or how a single God, who's outside the created world, manifests himself in the created world, so the Hypostasis are the eternal manifestations of God, or more precisely the Spirit of God/Parakletos stands for God's relation with anything in the created world, the Word of God/Logos stands for God's actions in the created world, while the Pater is not exactly a manifestation, but rather the source of both Hypostasis, outside the created world.

    • @TheCaledonianBoy
      @TheCaledonianBoy Před 5 měsíci

@brettspearman3706 As you probably know "echad" is the Hebrew word for "one". If you were counting in Hebrew echad is the number one.
In Deut 6:4 "echad" is simply "one".
At Gen 2:24 "echad" is still "one". We have the same in English, the crowd rose as one.
When we use one to describe a untied group with the same will and purpose we need to know who or what that is to be one in order to understand its use..
There is no such qualification at Deut 6:4. therefor a plural God cannot be read into the use of "echad" in this verse.

My acceptance of Christianity was less about the Cross and more about the Triune God. I grew up in a Christian home, so “Christ died for you” became like the wallpaper. Once I understood what the Church meant by praying “In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit” and not the “names”, once I studied the three relations within the Godhead, the less non-trinitarian theology made sense, whether it was with the Liberal Protestant tradition, the Unitarians, Islam, or theism/deism. When one plunges into the biblical theology and how the early Church made use of philosophy to speak about God and dialectic to defend the biblical witness, faith in the Risen Lord flooded by heart and life.

The trinity is just a CONVENTIONAL doctrine based on some statements in the gospels. The bishops of Nicaea had to decide whether Jesus was God or just his Son. Jesus said "he who has seen me has seen the Father" "I am in the Father and the Father in me" and claimed to be the "King of heaven". The bishops thus decided that "Jesus must be as divine as the Father". But Jesus further said that a blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is more serious that blasphemy against Himself. The bishops thought "no doubt, the Holy Spirit must also be a divine person". You thus get three "Gods". Since three "Gods" are not allowed because it would mean having polytheism, the bishops said "they appear to be three but actually they are ONE, we call it "mystery of the faith", for the common herd is more than enough". This is how that bogus theory was issued by the councils. The error in all that is the bishops didn't realize that the "Spirit of God" (the Holy Spirit) simply is "God who is a spirit" (Jn.4:24) i.e. once again a manifestation of the same God, not a third divine person. Indeed you can see in the gospels that no third divine person exists with Father and Son: the Holy Spirit is again the Father.

“A unipersonal God wouldn’t be loving until that God created other beings” on this view “power comes before love”. We need to differentiate between attributes and actions. Was God powerful (attribute) before he created (action)? Was God forgiving (attribute) before he forgave(action)? Could God love that which was not yet created? You have to be very confident/bold to say “you couldn’t say God is love except for a triune God” even there is only small chance God is unipersonal and said this. I would be careful to tell God what he can’t say to be coherent. All that said I’m glad people are having open conversations about this topic.

Here are Bible verses showing there are two: the Father, and Jesus:
    ■ "Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him." (John 14:23) (The Father + Jesus = 2 . . . with no mention of the holy spirit as a third person.)
    ■ "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
The same was in the beginning with God.
All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made." (John 1:1-3) (The Father + Jesus = 2 . . . with no mention of the holy spirit as a third person.)
    ■ "I and my Father are one." (John 10:30) (The Father + Jesus = 2 . . . with no mention of the holy spirit as a third person.)
    ■ "But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him." (1 Cor 8:6) (The Father + Jesus = 2 . . . with no mention of the holy spirit as a third person.)
    ■ "And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was." (John 17:5) (The Father + Jesus = 2 . . . with no mention of the holy spirit as a third person.)
Only the Father and Jesus are mentioned in the opening greetings of the epistles:
    ■ “To all that be in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ”
    (Paul, in Romans 1:7)
    ■ “Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.”
    (Paul, in 1 Corinthians 1:3)
    ■ “Grace be with you, mercy, and peace, from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.”
    (John, in 2 John 1:3)
    ■ "Grace be to you and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ" (2 Corinthians 1:2)
    ■ "Grace be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ" (Galatians 1:3)
    ■ "Grace be to you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ" (Ephesians 1:2)
    ■ "Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ" (Philippians 1:2)
    ■ "To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ which are at Colosse: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ." (Colossians 1:2)
    ■ "Paul, and Silvanus, and Timotheus, unto the church of the Thessalonians which is in God the Father and in the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ" (1 Thessalonians 1:1)
    ■ "Grace unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ" (2 Thessalonians 1:2)
    ■ "Unto Timothy, my own son in the faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God our Father and Jesus Christ our Lord." (1 Timothy 1:2)
    ■ "To Timothy, my dearly beloved son: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord" (2 Timothy 1:2)
    ■ "To Titus, mine own son after the common faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Saviour" (Titus 1:4)
    ■ "Grace to you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ" (Philemon 1:3)
    ■ "Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord" (2 Peter 1:2)
The only persons mentioned were the Father, and Jesus. Can we be honest enough to admit there is nothing to suggest a Trinity - three persons - in these greetings?
There are many similar statements, mentioning only the Father and Jesus. Here are a few of them:
    ■ “Peace be to the brethren, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.”
    (Ephesians 6:23)
    ■ “Now God himself and our Father, and our Lord Jesus Christ, direct our way unto you.”
    (1 Thessalonians 3:11)
    ■ “Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace,
Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.”
    (2 Thessalonians 2:16,17)
    ■ “Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father.”
    (1 John 2:24)
    ■ “That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.”
    (1 John 1:3)
    ■ “But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his”
    (Romans 8:9)

If ONLY a three person God is love, then why does the Bible tells us the Father is love? The one who does not love does not know God, for GOD is love. By this the love of God was manifested in us, that GOD has sent HIS only begotten Son into the world so that we might live through Him. 1 John 4:8-9. That would be the Father there, one person who is love. Saying that only the Triune God is love is a lie which contradicts Scripture.

Good things mentioned here. It is Gods great right to hide His nature from those who would reject His truth. Those that defend oneness theology never satisfactorily address the way John makes distinctions in his gospel regarding the beautiful relationship Christ had with His Father. All they do is dig up a multitude of verses about God is one which is a broken record. We don’t deny God is one, the same way we don’t deny a man and his wife are one. It is so true that when these persons of the triune godhead are glopped into one, then the rest of doctrines goes haywire where you get legalistic teaching, baptismal regeneration, having to have evidence of tounges to confirm salvation. Once the godhead is accepted by faith the flow of understanding doctrine comes. God help us to accept the nature of God without having to figure it out with our fallen thoughts.
The god of oneness theology if he did exist would be pretty lonely before anyone was created.
I am glad that the godhead had tremendous fellowship one with another before anything or anyone else was made. We have a tremendous God that is past finding out. And we are invited into that fellowship. Amen
Praise God for the gospel of John sharing these truths with us that coincides with Old Testament truths too.

I think the only thing that exists in this reality is the Source Consciousness/God. We see this clearly with people who have merged with the “all loving light” (God) during their NDEs. After they merge, they report that they feel an incredible sense of being loved, and they also realize we are made of the same “conscious stuff” that God is made of. (This makes sense, that we are all made of the “conscious stuff” that God is made of, since the only raw materials “he” had to work with when he created our souls was his own consciousness. And so he created us out of himself, so to speak.) And as these NDEers temporarily feel one with God during their merger, they report that they know everything that God knows - because they are at that moment one with “him.” But when they separate from the “all loving light” they lose most of that knowledge (because they are no longer coupled with the source of everything), but they do retain the deep, overwhelming sense of feeling loved by God. And most people, when they “come back to their bodies,” really want to share this heightened level of love with all of humanity. And now we know for sure. God is love, only love because it is all “he” is capable of. And anything that paints him in a non-loving way is just plain wrong, no matter what the source. All the best!

    THANK YOU JOHN PIPER!!!
    FINALLY!
I'm SO TIRED of listening to speeches about our God, the One and Only God Who Is a Triune God and Yet all I ever hear talked about are only of the Two First Persons, NEVER the 3rd Person which is ABSURD being that, that's what "Triune" stands for, 3!
Yet Only the Father and Son are Who everyone ever talks about Most as a rule.
    DRIVES ME MAD
So FINALLY, (I'm glad I waited it out) at the Very End John Piper calls attention to the Holy Spirit!
    About time!!
To Don, true that the Father never "Submits" out of Obedience to Please His Son, However, He DOES Please Him, just as the Son has Pleased the Father and as the Holy Spirit has also, as He with the Son also Please each other so Also the Father is Joint ONE in this whole dynamic of PLEASING each other, because that Is the LOVE of God Expressed Before man-kind.
Because the Father Loves His Son... (John 3:35).
He, the Father Gave ALL, Everyone, And ALL AUTHORITY to Him, His Son.
They're Like a Complete Full Circle, that EQUALLY goes around and around.

The title of this video "Only the triune God is love" I assume is taken from the verse in 1 John 4 v 8 where it says "for God is love". If anyone would care to look this verse up in their bibles and read a bit further they will find that this God is the Father (as is always the case in first John) since it says in the next verse "in this was manifested the love of God toward us because that God sent his only begotten son into the world". So the title of this video should really be "Only God the Father is love" unless someone can produce a text to the contrary.

John 1:1 does not speak of a three-persons-in-one-God Trinity (Father is God, Son is God, Holy Spirit is God yet they are not three Gods but one God with all three persons co-eternal and co-equal). It only speaks of God and the Word. There are two occurrences of the Greek noun "theos" (god) in this verse. The first theos is preceded by the definite article "ho". When the noun has a definite article, it points to a distinct identity, in this case Almighty God. However, the second "theos", referring to the Word, does not have the definite article. Many scholars agree that the fact that the second theos does not have a definite article means that the word “theos” in this case does not point to the identity of the Word but rather to a characteristic or quality of the Word, that the Word is "divine", "a god", “god-like”, but not the same as “ho theos”. Several modern Bible versions translate the final part of John 1:1 as “the Word was divine,” “the Logos was divine,” “a god was the Word,” or “the Word was a god.”
Isaiah 9:6 calls the Messiah "Mighty God", but that does not mean that he is Almighty God himself. In 1 Corinthians 8:5, 6, Paul says, "For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,) But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him." Jesus is a Mighty God because God is the one who exalted him to that position. Philippians 2:9 states that after Jesus's death and resurrection, God exalted him to a superior position and gave him the name that is above every other name." Does that mean that God exalted Jesus to a position greater than God himself? Does that mean that Jesus's name is even above God's name? The following verses explain that Jesus's exaltation is ultimately to bring glory to God the Father. Paul said something similar in 1 Corinthians 15:27, 28. God subjected all things under Jesus's feet. Paul explains in verse 27: "But when he says all things have been subjected, it is evident that this does not include the One who subjected all things to him." Isaiah 9:6 also calls the Messiah "Eternal Father". Does that mean that the Son is also the Father? Not even the Trinity doctrine teaches that the Son is the Father, unless you believe in Modalism. The Messiah is given this title with a specific meaning in mind. Jesus became the father of the human race when he became the last Adam.

God is the Ultimate Relationship. Not an isolated being trapped within but someone whose Logos; Reason; Logic for being is His beloved Son. He-the Father-created humanity to give to His Son as a bride, and the Church as His bride is that part of humanity who have been brought back into that ultimate love relationship in the power of their Holy Spirit. An isolated god makes no sense to my love starved heart! Reading John with its intimate talk of intimacy between Father, Son and Spirit makes sense. The isolated god of Islam and similar scary gods trapped within themselves terrifies me. If they were god I would rather go to hell. The true God invites us to share in Christ s relationship with the Father as the Holy Spirit baptizes us into body of Christ, which is the holy Church (see 1 Cor 12, for eg.). This is a God my logical mind can believe in. This is God.

OurHumbleLife The clarity of the trinity in New Testament is a confirmation of numerous references in the Old. Taking one verse and placing an interpretation on it outside of Scripture in its entirety is very poor exegesis and doesn't prove your point. Jesus said repeatedly in his own words that he and the Father are one. They reference several of these in this video. John chapter 1, which by the way was not a Christian invention. That passage came straight from a Jewish targum. John was simply identify Jesus as the one they were looking for. There was an understanding in Second Temple Judaism and a lot of commentary on the "Two Yahweh"s" because of the numerous references in the Old Testament, most clearly when it says 'My Lord said to my Lord." That statement right there is clear evidence that they are more than one an coequal. Isaiah 43:11 says, "The Lord alone is Savior." How can they refer to Yahweh and there be fulfillment in Jesus if Jesus is not Lord? Even the Shema itself refers to a plural unity. "Hear O Israel, the Lord your God is one." The word used for one in that verse is echad which is a plural unity. The best example of this is when it says in Genesis that a man and his wife are "one." Also echad. There is a word in Hebrew which means a singular one, it is yachid. As they said in the beginning of the video, the Trinity is just a label for a truth that is referenced throughout the Bible.

Again, this is a faulty understanding of Scripture in its entirety on the nature of God, Messianic expectations (of which there were several,) and what Jesus himself said. He said himself he was Lord God.
You are trying to put a human construct on an eternal God.
There are many verses that illustrate this, but I will let the words of Jesus himself stand as the best refutation of it.
      Matthew 22:41-45
Then, surrounded by the Pharisees, Jesus asked them a question. "What do you think about the Messiah? Whose son is he?
They replied, "He is the son of David."
Jesus responded, "Then why does David, speaking under the inspiration of the Spirit call the Messiah "my Lord?". For David said,
"The Lord said to my Lord, 'Sit in the place of honor at my right hand until I humble your enemies beneath your feet." (Quoting Psalm 110)
Since David called the Messiah 'my Lord' how can the Messiah be his son?".
No one could answer him. After that, no one dared as him any more questions.
The title Lord was reserved for Yahweh and, again, there was an understanding of the Two Yahweh's in the second Temple
The flaw in your argument is twofold. Jesus did not worship "a triune God.". He Is God.
John 5:23 "so that all will honor the Son even as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him
John 8:49-50. Jesus answered, "I do not have a demon, but I honor my Father . . .
If he was not fully God, of the same essence, then all his statements and the instructions to honor him are a violation of the first commandment "Thou shall have no other gods before me.". It would also make false the statement in Isaiah 43:11 that the Lord alone is Savior
You can't pick and choose which verses to accept. You either have to accept them as a whole, or they are invalidated. God does not leave room in his Word otherwise.
The only way all of the statements are reconciled is through the person of Jesus Christ, who came as fully God, the Lord, to earth as fully man to atone for our sins
What you miss in that verse is that it says he is Lord *and* Christ.
He wasn't made Lord because he always was. . . But he was made the Christ, meaning he was the savior, the salvation of God (which is what his name means) referred to in Isaiah 43.
The word Messiah means "anointed one" in Hebrew. But that wasn't how the apostled referred to him. They called him the Christ. There was a concept of the redeemer, God coming as man, that the title Christ conveyed. It does mean "anointed one" as well, but there was a connotation that went beyond it
That is why in the book of John, two times it uses Messiah and Christ in the same sentence.
One of those passages is John chapter 4 when Jesus is talking to the Samaritan woman. Verse 25 "the woman said to Hm, 'I know that Messiah (Mesias) is coming, He who is called Christ (Kristos); when that One comes, He will declare all things to us.". Jesus said to her, 'I who speak to you am He."
The Christ, Greek word Kristos, was a qualifier, that there was a Messiah coming that was more than the other Messiahs, that he was God come as man, the Christ.
The Father is Lord. The Son is Lord and was made Christ, the savior of Isaiah 43:11
Romans 10:9. If you confess with you mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
If you confess him as Lord, meaning that he is God . . . Not that you follow him as an elevated member of the divine council . . . That he is and always was God, coessence of the Father. The salvation of God as God himself
If you don't believe that, you don't have his salvation and are preaching another Gospel

      Quote from John Piper:
"God . . . brings about all things in accordance with his will. In other words, it isn’t just that God manages to turn the evil aspects of our world to good for those who love him; it is rather that he himself brings about these evil aspects for his glory (see Ex. 9:13-16; John 9:3) and his people’s good (see Heb. 12:3-11; James 1:2-4). This includes-as incredible and as unacceptable as it may currently seem-God’s having even brought about the Nazis’ brutality at Birkenau and Auschwitz as well as the terrible killings of Dennis Rader and even the sexual abuse of a young child . . .
      Quote from John Calvin:
“The devil, and the whole train of the ungodly, are in all directions, held in by the hand of God as with a bridle, so that they can neither conceive any mischief, nor plan what they have conceived, nor how muchsoever they may have planned, move a single finger to perpetrate, unless in so far as he permits, nay unless in so far as he commands, that they are not only bound by his fetters but are even forced to do him service” (John Calvin, Institutes of Christian Religion, Book 1, Chapter 17, Paragraph 11)

I love these guys but disagree with their take on the social Trinity. Jesus' subordination to the Father is a volunteering submission of a fully equal divine person of the Trinity. This is what makes it so beautiful. It is not just an obedient son, but one who is fully mature with His own will in which He, in love, surrenders to the Father's will because He loves the Father. Without seeing this, you will never understand correctly Paul's statement about women being submitted to their husbands. It is not a submission based on "less than" or because "He is the Man" or because that is the man's role or because, etc. When a woman is fully mature, she can lay down her own will for her husband whom she loves. The power struggle is gone. She refuses to fight because she knows who she is (in Christ). In fact, it makes her more beautiful. She takes no hit to her dignity, but her dignity is exalted by the very act of surrender. The system these three men are using to describe the Trinity is a hierarchical system that when applied to humanity, makes for hierarchical relationships, and we've all seen how that has worked.

This argument has never made sense to me and seems merely ad hoc to fit a trinitarian presupposition; however, like everything else with the trinity, it is ultimately self-defeating. It is simply invalid to conclude from God's omnibenevolence that therefore God must be three persons who love each other. In fact, holding fixed the unity of God, it makes of God a supreme narcissist. One can only eliminate this narcissism by dissolving the unity of God to a polytheistic "social" unity.
The error is in assuming that omnibenevolence *necessitates* an object. It does not. It is a dispositional property. Smith is a loving person, and yet, there may not exist at this time an object of Smith's love. However, Smith is constitutionally such that were such an object available, Smith would indeed love it.
The Jewish understanding of God makes the most rational sense. God's love is for His creation, His children, not for Himself.

The Prophet Moses was considered a G_d before the Pharaoh. Does that mean that he is or was G_d the Creator? Absolutely NOT! likewise with the Messiah when he came to this earth with a different purpose..... if he was called G_d by those who understood that the all Patriarchs were called “gods” or Elohim like Phillip told the Messiah? So, what's the difference??? The big difference is that even the Messiah himself knew that he wasn't the Creator Almighty being. That title and the exclusive worship belongs only to His father and the father only. Luke 4:8 This concept confused so many people that only understood "idolatry" distorting the Scriptures. Worshiping so called "Jesus" is considered idolatry by defenition and agaisnt the Commandment of the Eloyim. Repent wicked generation! turn away from idolatry. " The LORD answered Moses, "See I have made you like God to Pharaoh, and Aaron your brother will be your prophet." Exodus 7:1 Psalms 82:1-6 The Messiah called his father the "true God" not him. John 17:3 The Messiah was prophesied to be like Moses as a prophet and Savior like Moses, the only big difference is that the Messiah will deliver his people from eternal damnation and Moses delivered his people from idolatry and slavery. Deuteronomy 18:15, 18 So if Moses was considered a G_d before the Pharaoh, why couldn't the Messiah be considered a G-d before kings? Once again, this didn't make Moses or the Messiah the Almighty Elohym to receive worship in any way, shape or form. This act will be considered idolatry for lack of knowledge or ignorance. But ignorance doesn't justify sin of idolatry. The doctrine of the trinity or triune godhead was originated from the Vatican in 325AD first council of Nicea. The Romans were idolaters and worship more than one god and integrated their beliefs into Christianity. They were pagans. Do you follow their example??

The true church must teach that God and Jesus have bodies of flesh and bone - Luke 24:36-51, Acts 1:9-11
Fraudulent Trinitarian doctrine intentionally inserted into Bible (1 John 5:7-8). These two verses are missing from original Greek and Hebrew texts, nor are they found in the original 1611 printing of King James Bible. Many newer Bibles are now being printed without them. Think about the impact this single, intentional, and very critical corruption of doctrine has had on the entire Christian world for centuries.

"Jesus is God" doesn't fit all verses in the bible. Jesus said "Why do you call me good. No one is good except the Father." Also, Jesus will be subject to the Father for eternity (1 Cor. 15:28). It is true that Jesus and the Father are one and that Jesus is the Word of God. He is God in the same sense that my words are me. My words come from me and therefore when someone hears my words, they agree that what they hear is me, even though the sound waves that I produce are not actually me. Even my body is not me. The real me is invisible. It is my soul, which is spirit. Jesus is the exact image of God. We cannot know God except through Jesus. Also, it is true that the Son has always been with the Father and that through Jesus God created the universe. Jesus is the Son of God, not God.

If we understand Jesus' statement "I and the Father are one" in John 10:30 to mean that Jesus is God himself, that would seem to contradict John 14:28, where Jesus says, "The Father is greater than I am." It would also seem to contradict John 20:17, where Jesus tells Mary, "I am ascending to my Father and your Father and to my God and your God." The context shows that Jesus was talking about his unity of purpose with God the Father. This unity of purpose extended to his followers. In John 17:22, Jesus prayed to God saying, "I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one." Obviously, Jesus did not mean that his followers were of the same essence or substance.

The easiest way to defend the trinity is to compare it with what the Bible says about God. If the two agree 100%, then that should confirm that the trinity is based squarely on Scripture. But is that the case? Well, judge for yourself:
1a. THE BIBLE says the Father-a single person-is the “only true God.” (John 17:3).
1b. THE TRINITY DOCTRINE says that “every Person [of the trinity] BY HIMSELF [is] God.” That’s THREE GODS!
2a. THE BIBLE says that “for us there is one God, the Father." (1 Cor. 8:6)
2b. THE TRINITY DOCTRINE says “we worship one God IN TRINITY.”
3a. THE BIBLE says the “Father is greater…” (John @)
3b. THE TRINITY DOCTRINE says: “In this trinity, NONE is greater…”
4a. THE BIBLE says Jesus is the Son of God. (John @)
4b. THE TRINITY DOCTRINE says “Jesus IS God,” which makes him a different God from the “one God in trinity."
5a. THE BIBLE says the “Father is greater…” (John @)
5b. THE TRINITY DOCTRINE say that “the whole three persons [of the trinity] are “co-equal.”
6a. THE BIBLE says the holy spirit is not God, but a possession of God and that he gives it to deserving ones. As 1 Thess. 4:8 says: “Therefore, whoever disregards this, disregards not a human being but God, who (also) gives HIS holy Spirit to you.”
6b. THE TRINITY DOCTRINE says that “the holy spirit IS God.” However, A Catholic Dictionary says: “On the whole, the New Testament, like the Old, speaks of the spirit as a divine energy or power.” It adds: “The majority of New Testament texts reveal God’s spirit as someTHING, not someONE.”
7a. THE BIBLE says that the Father is the ONLY person that “the true worshipers” (Christians) should worship. (John @)
7b. THE TRINITY DOCTRINE says: “The trinity in unity is to be worshiped.”
So, is the trinity doctrine a Biblical teaching? Answer: absolutely not.

Why does Christianity push Catholic dogma? We are required and commanded to believe that YAHUAH sent his Son who came in the flesh and that is that. He is not YAHUAH Eloheem and never ever said he was. Instead he confirmed he is the Son. Joh 20:17...I have not yet ascended to the Father; but go to my brothers and say to them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my Eloheem and your Eloheem. ANYTHING THAT PREACHES YAHUSHUA DID NOT COME IN THE FLESH IS A DECEIVER , THE ANTI-MASHIACH ie the one who says Yahushua was Spirit rather than flesh FULLY ANOINTED BY THE PURE SPIRIT OF YAHUAH!!!! This invention of trinity and Jesus is God heresy is sent to distract from the TEACHING OF THE SON OF ELOHEEM which is to OBEY TORAH which the same pagan institution called the Harlot Church of Babylon hates. I used to be a Trinitarian in one of the world’s largest religious denominations for 53 years and taught and raised my own family the same for 18 years. I continued in this false teaching right up until the day God had mercy on me and sent me the Holy Spirit who led me into all the truth (John 16:13). What does the Spirit have to say about this pagan triune god called the trinity? If you have eyes to see and ears to hear, listen:
“At that same time Jesus was filled with the joy of the Holy Spirit, and he said, “O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, thank you for HIDING THESE THINGS FROM THOSE WHO THINK THEMSELVES WISE AND CLEVER, and for REVEALING THEM TO THE CHILDLIKE. Yes, Father, it pleased you to do it this way.” (Luke 10:21)
“Truly I tell you,” He said, “unless you change and become like little children, you will NEVER ENTER the kingdom of heaven.” (Matt. 18:3)
Now, remember that show, “Are you smarter than a 5th grader”? Anyone here smarter than a 5th grader? Let’s find out.
The topic is based on the doctrine of the Trinity. This doctrine declares the Godhead is triune being comprised of Father, Son and Holy Spirit who are “co-equal” with each other and “are all God”. Without being a bible scholar or having to twist scripture, this is really quite simple. Ready to play?
Elementary 5th grade reading and basic 2nd grade math show us the truth of this matter; hence being like a child just like our Lord said:
Open your Bible, go to the gospel of John and read the following verses for yourself: John 1:1-3. Now do the basic math. How many God beings do you count? 2 or 3?
    Having established that both the Father and the Son are God from what you just read, now read the following verses: John 5:17, 5:19, 5:20, 5:21, 5:22, 5:23, 5:26, 5:30, 5:36, 8:28, 12:50, 10:30, 14:6, 14:23, 14:28, 15:10, 17:3, 17:5, Rom. 1:1, Rom. 1:27, 1 Cor. 1:3, 1 Cor. 1:9, 1 Cor. 8:6-7, 1 Cor. 15:27-28, 2 Cor. 1:2-3, Eph. 1:2, 5:20, Philip. 1:2, Col. 1:3, 1 Thess. 1:3, 2 Thess. 1:2, Phil. 1:3, Heb. 1:8-13, 1 Peter 1:3, 2 Peter 1:2, 1 John 1:3, 1: John 5:20, 2 John 1:3, 2 John 1:9, Rev. 3:12, 7:10, 21:22-23. Now do the basic math. How many God beings do you count? 2 or 3?
Those who consider themselves wise or smarter than a 5th grader, tell me, where in this world does 1 + 1 =3?
The Spirit can keep going on with many more verses just like this. If you have the humility to be honest with yourself and what you just read, you will see the plain truth and the trinity doctrine is debunked. If the Holy Spirit was in fact God, why was he left out of all those verses? What happened to being co-equal?
Little children truly believe in Santa Claus in all sincerity up until the day they discover the ugly truth of the matter, right? This isn’t any different. Why anyone continue to believe in a lie after the preponderance of overwhelming evidence?
So now that you have read and seen the truth for yourself, do you still believe in the false trinity doctrine or are you not smarter than a 5th grader? If you failed this test, go to your Bible and read John 8:47.
Another biblical fact: Nowhere in the Bible does it say that the Holy Spirit is God. Nowhere!
Christ also said, “the Father is greater than I” (John 14:28). Clearly Christ by his very statement said they are NOT co-equal? This totally scotches the doctrine of the trinity that claims the Father, Son and Spirit are co-equal. Who would dare call Christ a liar? Sheer foolishness!
How can anyone believe in the false doctrine of the trinity after reading the gospel of John? The gospel of John and other books of the Bible clearly testify that the doctrine of the triune god is a lie (John 1:1-3). The word “trinity” isn’t even written anywhere in the Bible, why would anyone believe it?
The world foolishly says about the Spirit of God that he is “God the Spirit”. Christ tells us that “God IS spirit” (John 4:24). Do you see how foolish this is already? Why does God need a Spirit if he already IS spirit? It is the Spirit of God. The word “OF” being paramount as the Spirit belongs to God and Christ; the word “OF” denotes possession/ownership. They own it and they sent it (John 16:15)
Don’t know who the Holy Spirit is? Simple, read John 1:51 and Hebrews 1:7, 1:14, and Psalm 104:4. There is our Helper in plain sight yet most are so blinded by the years of false teaching and lies they can’t see the truth. Angel of the Lord, Angel of God, Spirit of God, the Spirit of the Lord, the Spirit = Holy Spirit.
Paul cautioned us about false humility and the worship of angles (Col. 2:18). The Holy Spirit warned John twice in the Book of Revelation that he should not be worshiped (Rev. 19:10, 22:8-9).
Let’s really simplify this: If a fallen angel is a demon spirit that belongs to Satan, then an angel of God can only be what? A Holy Spirit because he belongs to God who is holy (Lev. 11:44, 1 Peter 1:16).
Think about it, if the Holy Spirit is a single 3rd person of the Godhead, how is it even possible we can we all have it? See how foolish this is already? Do I get the Holy Spirit today and borrow him to you tomorrow? How foolish this world’s wisdom is. The answer is found again in Matthew 18:10 for it is written:
“Beware that you don't look down on any of these little ones. For I tell you that in heaven THEIR ANGELS are always in the presence of my heavenly Father.” (Matt. 18:10).
The words “their angels” (Holy Spirit) shows ownership. The Holy Spirit for each one of us was not sent until Christ came into his glory (John 7:39).
Let the Bible explain itself, it's quite simple and straightforward. The teaching is very simple without having to twist scripture and believe in something that just isn't there like the word “trinity”. Biblical truth is based on the word of God.
It’s time to unlearn one of the greatest lies of so called “modern Christianity”. Believe in what Christ said and taught. Believe in what is actually and clearly written in the word of God and not in the invented mythology or eisegesis of men.
Get this, if you are worshiping the pagan invented god known as the “trinity”, you will never, ever receive the Holy Spirit (Acts 5:32) as you are breaking the 1st Commandment.
“that their hearts may be encouraged, being KNIT together in love, and attaining to all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the knowledge of the mystery of God, BOTH of the FATHER AND OF CHRIST, IN WHOM are hidden ALL the treasures of WISDOM and KNOWLEDGE.” (Col. 2:2-3 NKJV).
Whom has ALL the treasures of wisdom and knowledge as you just read? The Father and Christ. How many God beings do you count? 2 or 3?
Lay down your pride and what you think you know about God and the Bible and unlearn the lies. Repent and let God teach you. Unless you become like a child, you will never enter the Kingdom of God. Forget what you think you know as the Lord has sent me to reveal the simplicity of his teaching in spirit and truth.
Now let’s read Proverbs 30:4 together:
“Who has ascended into heaven, or descended?
Who has gathered the wind in His fists?
Who has bound the waters in a garment?
Who has established all the ends of the earth?
What is HIS name, and what is HIS SON’S name,
    If you know?
Now, how many God beings do you count? 2 or 3?
    “Every word of God is pure;
He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him.
Do not add to His word.,
Lest He rebuke you, and you be found a liar.” (Pro. 30:5-6)
The word “trinity” is added to His word. Who is the liar?
If today you hear his voice, harden not your heart!
Repent for the Kingdom of God is near!

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it."
      John 1: 1-5
I'm not trying to be rude, but I have a problem with what you said. The verse is very sharply claiming Jesus Christ's divinity with God who is His Father. Going on what you said if God is just one person that HAS a Holy Spirit and an only Begotten Son then it would mean that the Word(Jesus) was a part of creation and the Holy Spirit as well, which looking back to the verse from john we can see that that is just not true. The verse bluntly labels Jesus as God. In the for gospels Jesus claimed to be God. He also said that the Father who sent him is God. The Holy Spirit who was sent from Jesus. Three distinct persons in one essence.
This verse below is a glimpse of the eternal dance of love that has been forever occurring.
"In those days Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan. And when he came up out of the water, immediately he saw the heavens being torn open and the Spirit descending on him like a dove. And a voice came from heaven, “You are my beloved Son; with you I am well pleased.”
      Mark 1: 9-11
This is just a glimpse of what has been happening for eternity. No one else has God opened the heavens for and declared that kind of stamp of approval than his Son, and the Spirit is uniting their love. This is just constant love all around, and is an example of why we--as his creation created in His image--even love in the first place. Constant love for eternity is what God has, and that is the reason why He created, because He loves and wants to share that love. Not because He was lonely, because if creation was done out of loneliness then yes it would have been done through a unipersonal God.
What makes Christians distinct is that we believe in a tripersonal God who is revealed through the Lord Jesus Christ. The Trinity is the most important doctrine, because it is describing who God is, and built off of this doctrine are all the others such as: Justification, Sanctification, Marriage, Wrath etc.
I know that communication in these comments on youtube can get rough, but I am not trying to put you down. +Joshua Chavez --- Yeshua does not enter the text of John’s Gospel until verse 14. Everything prior to verse 14 is talking about YHVH GOD.
I like your phrase “the eternal dance of love”, but that just as easily applies to the factual truth that the Trinity, as it is described by Trinitarians, does NOT exist. GOD is GOD, Yeshua Messiah is GODs Only Begotten Son and the Holy Spirit is YHVH GODs HOLY SPIRIT.
GOD is a Person. Yeshua is a Person.
The Holy Spirit is NOT a Person. And yes there is an “eternal dance of love” between them.
Yeshua was made by His GOD and Father here on earth during the Immaculate Conception. That is what the word begotten means. Yeshua lives in eternity future but He did not live in eternity past. Prior to Yeshua’s conception He only existed in YHVH GODs foreknowledge. A foreknowledge that caused YHVH GOD to Create the entire Universe for Yeshua Messiah’s purpose. When YHVH GOD opened the Heavens HE was not opening them upon HIMSELF, HE was opening them on HIS Only Begotten Son.
So when YHVH GOD sent the Holy Spirit like a dove to descend upon Him, in the Jordon river, Yeshua’s GOD and Father would naturally exclaim, “You are my beloved Son; with you I am well pleased.”!What makes Trinitarians distinct is that they must confuse and conflate the who’s and the what’s of their own doctrine of the Holy Trinity.
Unitarian Oneness believers have no such problem because we know who and what the three spoken of in the Holy Trinity are and we do NOT have to make up fairy stories to try to explain something incomprehensible when it is perfectly comprehensible to any who wish to listen and hear!I hope this helps!

Thank you for responding, but I disagree with you on a lot of things you said, because scripture is disagreeing with you.
The verse in John 1:1 is talking about the Lord Jesus as the eternal word. Jesus was in the the text from verse one. The whole point of the gospel of john--just like all of the gospels--is to point to Jesus and who He was and what He said.
In fact, these verses "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men" clearly is talking about and declaring bluntly about Jesus being with God, and also being God Himself. Existing with God, and not just as foreknowledge. This is talking about the Great I am. I agree with you on that.
He is the only Begotten, and that means that He is eternally existing with an eternal God constantly in communion with Him, and the Holy Spirit stirs up this love in the eternal dance. The only way for Jesus to be the only Begotten to an eternal God is to be eternally Begotten, which magnifies love of God.
      Here is proof below.
Jesus said He is the "I am" and this is a claim to always BE. If he was not self-existing then we would be worshiping an idol. The verse below gives credibility to that, and this also contradicts the thought that Jesus was just a thought in God's mind. Jesus existed with the Father.
"Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I am.” So they picked up stones to throw at him, but Jesus hid himself and went out of the temple"
      John 8:58-59
He existed before He was born in the immaculate conception.
The Trinity is there from the beginning.
Then God said, “Let us make man in OUR image, after OUR likeness..."
      Genesis 1:26
Creation would only make sense if God is Trinity, which He is. He did not create out of loneliness, which a Unipersonal God would, but He created out of an outpour of HIs love for His Son, who was "..with God...and..was God..." which a Tripersonal God does.
To say that He was thinking and creating the foundations of the world for Jesus by thinking of Jesus as a created being would be saying that God created for solely for His creation. He created out of an overflow of love for His Son that has been going on for eternity.

If they do "have an eternal dance of love"--like you agreed upon--then they have existed together before the foundation of the world.
By the way, I know that there is a emotional barrier between you and I because of the lack of physical interaction, but I am not angry or anything I just wanted to talk. I think it is alright to disagree about things and talk about them.

+Joshua Chavez --- Trinitarians are lying when they use the John 8:58 example as their evidence, because, the phrase that is used in John 8:58 is NOT the same phrase that is used in Exodus 3:14.
Genesis 1:26 can have many different meanings, even most Trinitarian scholars believe the “our” is a “royal we”.
You --- Creation would only make sense if God is Trinity, which He is. He did not create out of loneliness, which a Unipersonal God would, but He created out of an outpour of HIs love for His Son, who was "..with God...and..was God..." which a Tripersonal God does.
Me --- That is just an emotional opinion with no proof of
      its validity.
Please answer these two questions. à
      1. Is GOD a Person?
      2. Does GOD know who GOD is?

The title is misleading. It should be, "Defending the idea of a Triune God, Trinity."
And, in the conversation it is said clearly that without a Triune God, the universe fall apart. This shows the truth that Trinity only can be defended by those who regardless of its existence believe in it but cannot be explain it.
The truth is it was an invented idea centuries after Jesus (God's peace be upon him). None of the Old Testament prophets mentioned Trinity, and so assume they missed on it is a blasphemy in it self.

My only reason why I don't believe in Trinity, now this is not to say that I hate trinitarians or anything of that nature; it's just they don't realize that when they are using scripture to try and confirm Trinity or to confirm that Christ is God they completely and utterly announced such as Proverbs chapter 7 and 8 on the personification of God's wisdom being a woman and our sister they use that as a euphemism but they want to personify the euphemistic approach of the holy Spirit empowering us and outpouring on to us. Where the holy Spirit if you read Ezekiel chapter 1 through 28 is actually debatable on it being a personification because even though God's spirit is able to open up our will and our understanding it doesn't speak and it always has to work under direction it can't exist by itself without having God generated from out of his very being on to Jesus and Jesus generating it from his very being on to us so really there isn't a trinity if you read scripture. Trinity is an added idea not a emphatic fact because it has to be theorized onto the page it has to be put on the page where if you were to read a written page in the Bible you won't be able to find trinity not by word or definition that's my only rejection of it.
There's no substantiability for Trinity it had to be shoehorned and said it was fact because the argument was so extensive; so the whole thing on God is love being a triune God how do you get past the fact that God doesn't divide his glory among anyone? Where all of a sudden it got to get a change of heart? He never did God is unchanging Christ is only a propitiation by means of only the scriptures themselves he's an appointed King like King Hezekiah and King Josiah and every King that sat upon the throne of Israel was Elohim they were not God in Divinity or nature so how is Jesus divine in nature if he himself had to be exalted had to be brought back to life from the dead had to be given power and authority in heaven and earth. So really that alone defeats the non contextual teaching of Trinity.
Now the argument of the deity of Christ where I've seen the accusation passed around where people have the man's mindset of should the Sun be coming from the father they are of equal and exact expression where in fact we must understand that God is a spirit and he makes his angels spirits, John 4:24 even says that God is a spirit himself a spirit person so if he's a person he's not as ostentatiously beyond our understanding as Trinity would teach to try and confirm this conglomerate God system.
Another thing that's taken out of context is Revelation chapter 1 where they confuse the alpha and Omega for being Jesus where in fact the Bible in all of its entirety says that Jesus is the coming King and Messiah if we recognize the plurality of Elohim to mean only the human aspect it would mean that Jesus is no more of God than Moses was or Hezekiah. Basically Jesus is just proving the fact that he is the coming King to rule the world and to bring order to the Earth according to the context of the Bible.
So he wouldn't be the exact essence of God because that would mean that we too are the essence of God so there's a lot wrong with the Trinity theology then anything can comprehend because even theologians that believe in Trinity say that the Trinity is not biblical but it's biblical that to me creates a god of distortion if it's not in the Bible but it is a part of the Bible....That's why I thoroughly cannot accept this.

Greek Paganism is entertainment at best. In other words, and as so you eloquently put it, gibberish. But to a Pagan, this is like Beethoven or Mozart conducting a symphony. To the people of hellfire, they laugh and dance and sing and play the drums and piano and churches celebrating the fact that they're going to an eternal fire.

I are not a Christian, i are not an educated one , i can read and write . I do accept the trinity formula . There is a circulation within the one God, Father Son and the Holyghost, these three cannot be without the other. There is no preacher in the world that says prayers using the Trinity. God is not angry at human applying the word Trinity to GOD.

@davidlingaard860 God is the ultimate complete being who needs no one. Nobody can add anything to Him that He does not already posses in abundance.
God does not need to be divided up into a 3 person God in order to accomplish anything.
There is one God and He is the Father, only the Father. Jesus is His only-begotten Son and the holy spirit is his powerful force that He uses to do things and often allows others to use also.

One of the downsides of listening to these Reformed guys is that they know so much about scripture that they are able to reference truths in scripture without citing the specific texts that support them. The reason I say this is a downside is because listeners like us often don't have that same level of expertise. I implore you to check every single claim they make with the Bible. Their claims are only truthful as long as they are grounded in scripture. From what I have heard from them (not just this video), however, they are more faithful to the Bible than most other theologians.
