  • Tim Keller sermons via Gospel in Life: On the surface of it, the Christian teaching about the Trinity is very difficult. It overloads the mental circuits. The doctrine of the Trinity is that God is one God, eternally existent in three persons. That’s not tritheism, where there’s really three gods who stick together a lot and like each other. And it’s not unipersonalism, which is really one God who sometimes takes this form, and sometimes takes this form-different forms in different places.
Trinitarianism is that there’s one God in three persons who know one another and love one another. So God is not more fundamentally one than he is three, and he’s not more fundamentally three than he is one. It is cognitively difficult, but the doctrine of the Trinity is bristling and exploding with life-shaping, wonderful, glorious implications.
In Mark 1:9-13, Jesus makes his appearance. In these five little verses, we have the whole history of the world recapitulated. We learn in these five verses: there’s a dance, the greatest need of your life is to get into that dance, and Jesus is the one who can bring you in.
    Scripture: Mark 1:9-13

Tim Keller always snaps me back to reality when I’m getting to self centered and full of myself. I don’t know how a sermon that makes me see all the bad things about myself can also give me such hope and joy. That is the difference between Gods word and man’s words

I wish Tim would write a book on this.. I bet he could show us even more about our great God that we've missed for years. Never even thought to compare the Trinity in creation to the Trinity at Jesus' baptism. As usual, Tim teaches it's all about God and He's completely in control. I just listened to it for the second time and will listen again. Tim, if you see this, write a book! In your spare time 😁 I pray for you brother, I pray God will heal you on your sickbed (Psalm 41:1) and restore you from your illness! 🙏🙏🙏

Janice, Tim Keller did write about the divine dance of the Trinity. See Chapter 14 in his book “the Reason for God“. It is a beautiful and amazing description of the self-giving relationship between the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Dr. Keller says “Each person of the Trinity loves, adores, defers to, and rejoices in the others. This creates a dynamic, pulsating dance of joy and love.“ This Chapter 14 entitled “The Dance of God” says much more and is the main reason I bought the book after having listened to an audio version with Tim Keller reading.

Perichoresis and circuminsession is the dance. My God, my God...was Jesus separation from the dance. No wonder He sweat blood, no wonder the whole earth turned dark and shook violently, no wonder He fell down asking if the cup could pass. What an amazing price Jesus paid for our salvation! It makes me wonder what pain the Father and the Spirit went through during this most amazing event.

It's the grace of God and actions which Leed to salvation. Having faith, hope and love are all actions of the soul and unless you activate these actions God can't save you. If someone acts in love ,hope and faith that person's physical actions will reflect love ,hope and faith. It's so obvious how can the new age churches be so blind?

The three Persons in the Trinity refers to the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Here, the Father refers to God the Father.
The Son refers to the beloved Son of God, God incarnate - Jesus Christ.
The Holy Spirit is formless and everywhere.
They are the three Persons in the Trinity.
Trinity is the unity of essence, form, and function.
    Essence is the Holy Spirit.
Function is the function of essence - that is, creating all things. Function refers to the Father.
Form is the manifestation of the function of essence, and refers to all things in the world.
Among the manifestations of the function of essence, the most special and sinless manifestation is God incarnate - the Son.

There is NO trinity; God is NOT 3 different or distinct persons but is CLEARLY 3 manifestations of the SAME being, or unipersonal as stated in this sermon. At 25:20 he asks, "Why would a unipersonal God create the world?" The answer given in Scripture is simply for his own good pleasure. And that's enough, no need to be a committee of gods involved in a group chat, or dance, to make sense of Scripture or creation. The reason the trinity is cognitively difficult is because it's nonsense. God is one, not one group.
God IS Spirit. - John 4:24
If you had known me, you would have known my Father also. From now on you do know him and have seen him. - John 14:7

  • @christopherjones2669
    @christopherjones2669 Před rokem

Lord baptized; Bible does not say why; in order to enter church and heaven, zero justification without baptism, which baptism is for good people, even for nearly perfect people, in Lord's case, even for perfect people. All Paul's writings in first verses tells plainly Father and Son are 2 different people, Greek philosophy corrupted faith now for thousands of years, Greek philosophy is anti- body, anti- family within trinity, anti --resurrection and against Paul teachings. Mr. Keller correct, Bible is mystery, not clear and confusing. Gospel is traditional family. Which is offensive to many.
