As a student of physics, I learned that light has three principal parts. The luminiferous (the light you see) the calorific (heat you feel) and the actinic (the molecular effect on film). Any analogy is imperfect but I think light itself (Jesus said I am the way the truth and the light) is one of the best.

After viewing this video, and reading many comments below I conclude this. First let me say I am a simple man. I have education beyond high school. I find great joy and wonder learning about God, and the many wonders of the Bible and such. I am often reminded that I am a finite being trying so hard to understand and grasp an infinte God. I strongly beleive that God honrs my honest efforts to know and understand Him. I enjoy hearing the insights of others. I ponder them, look at scripture, and pray. Thank you all for your thoughts. Let us eagerly search the scriptures, talk amongst ourselves, but always remember to ask for the Holy Spirit to lead us into all truth. Let us pray for our faith to grow in Christ, for the salvation of friends and family, and for our nation.
Stay the course...fight the good fight. Keep our eyes in Jesus. God richly bless you all.

      The flesh and the soul are part of the same body. So one flesh is made of two things, body and soul. And the Spirit stay in Unity. That's why John says;
1Jn 5:6-7: "This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not with the water only, but with the water and with the blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is the truth."

  • @banzakidimye348
    @banzakidimye348 Před 4 měsíci +103

I think one of the biggest problems is that people do not understand the nature of analogies. No single analogy can fully describe ANYTHING - never mind the Trinity. We use analogies everyday ... e.g. we may describe a ruby as being "blood red". In this we are using blood to describe the ruby - but, it must be noted that we are only analogising ONE aspect of the ruby; its colour. The describe the size of the ruby, one would have to use a different analogy - a pea, a pigeon egg, a sparrow egg, or whatever. And one could continue using a different object to convey an appropraiate characteristic of the ruby.
And, I think, that when we as Christians use analogies to describe the Trinity, we fall into the trap of trying to find ONE analogy that will explain every aspect of the Trinity - which of course is impossible.
I believe that analogies are useful. Jesus, when communicating spiritual truths, always used analogies (parables, metaphors, etc); He never used logic. And He used many different parables - each parable communicating a different truth. NO ONE parable could communicate ALL spiritual truth.

That's a lot of bother for a false doctrine.

    • @truthmatters7573
      @truthmatters7573 Před 4 měsíci +1

I hear you, and there's an element of truth to that, but at the same time even if you use an analogy to describe only part of the truth, your analogy is still flawed if it better describes error than it does truth, with respect to the part of the truth you are trying to explain.
This is why the circles are a good analogy (they accurately communicate both the simultaneous oneness and distinctness of Father Son and Spirit, even though it fails to capture the personal element of the divine nature, that is not a problem because it is a related but secondary consideration).
This is why both the water and 3 humans analogies don't work. Water is not simultaneously one and three, it is consecutively one and three. Humans are not one in the same sense as God is one, even though they too are personal. Hence these better describe the various misunderstandings of the trinity, which is exactly what you want to exclude by using the analogy to explain the trinity in the first place.

@@truthmatters7573 An Old Testament prophet described so-called intellectuals today as " ever learning and never able to come to a knowledge of the truth". • @mathewsamuel1386
      @mathewsamuel1386 Před 4 měsíci +2

@truthmatters7573 Sorry, the circle analogy is as bad as any other. It doesn't capture the Oneness at all because the nature of each circle includes its color and position of its centre. Even if you make the circles all the same color, they would still fail to share the same nature because they will have different centres!

    • @truthmatters7573
      @truthmatters7573 Před 4 měsíci +8

@@mathewsamuel1386 Did you and I watch the same video? He clearly said 3 perfectly overlapping circles. That means they have the exact same center and the exact same radius. They are identical in space, but different in expression.
What makes the analogy work is that the circles are identical in one way (center point and radius) but distinct in another way (border color) and all three exist simultaneously exhibiting these properties. Mathematically border color is not even part of the definition of a circle only radius and center point are, therefore these 3 circles are mathematically identical, not just equal or similar. These three circles exist independently and simultaneously as distinct identical circles.
Now no analogy is perfect, and the shortcoming here is that we are talking about an abstract object instead of a person, but other than that it does not lead you to an erroneous understanding of the way in which God is one and the way in which God is three.
If we wanted to create a creed for this analogy we could say that this analogy neither divides the space nor confounds the circles.

I think of one sentence in my brain. I tell the sentence to you -- now it's in your brain. While telling it to you, I record myself speaking that sentence in my handphone. One sentence in my brain, one sentence in your brain, one sentence recorded. How many sentences do I say? One. Also a good explanation about the Trinity, because those three sentences exist simultaneously -- exactly like Father and Holy Spirit when they appear at The Son's baptism.

    • @Germanchu92
      @Germanchu92 Před 2 měsíci

As long as you are aware that those things don't actually "exist", they are mere concepts.
You can think of a fictional character, and draw it, and share it, and still that character does not "exist" beyond our imagination and representations of it.
A sentence only "exists" as long as we agree on its validity (the sounds being consonants and vowels, making up words, grammar rules...) so it is contingent on our perception of what a sentence is to "be". I doubt the existence of a Trinity is contingent on agreeing upon it.
I understand the analogy, but it breaks down when you try to tie it to reality.

To believe this world of illusion is of Spirit/God is the Delusion of Man....!!
Christ is the Realization that God is Spirit, and Spirit is the ONLY PRESENCE, then living, moving and having your being in this Principle....
This is the Message of the Realized Christ through Jesus!
This means all things that stem from a belief in matter/form/physicality/time/space as reality, no matter how it appears is not a Reality. Whether it be an illness, hunger, lack, goodness, evil, person, place, thing, etc...
Only what is of Spirit is Reality, and the human form, including the 5 senses, is not of Spirit.
All things of Spirit/Reality are Imperishable, while all things of Matter/Unreality are Perishable.
What is of God is Eternal and Immortal.
What is not of God is finite and illusory, and only playing out as the delusional belief in a Life Separate and Apart from Spirit/God!!
The book called the bible is not a religious manuscript, nor are there any religious teachings.
A religious teaching is of the Ignorance of the Human intellect, and the book we call the bible can not be understood through the human intellect, as it does not and can not know Truth.
The religious world proves their interpretation to be not of God, not of Spirit As the Only Presence through it's acceptance of God/Spirit as a judgemental and hellish being sitting on a throne waiting to destroy what he created!
      Spirit is Perfect....
      Spirit is Infinite....
      Spirit is Constant Renewal....
      Spirit is The Only Presence....
I Am Spirit because God is Spirit and Spirit is the Only Presence!!
Here's a bit of what Jesus says about the form of Jesus, and all other appearances of any form....
If I speak of myself I bear witness to a lie....
I of mine own self am nothing. I of mine own self can do nothing....
      Why callest thou me good.....
Jesus realized that since Spirit is the Only Presence, ALL is Spirit and not form, and tried to tell the world to follow this Principle, but the human mind can not let go of its belief in the 5 senses and human thought, or SATAN as Jesus called them!!
You either believe that Spirit is the Only Presence, which is Christ Realization, or you believe in the illusion of form, making you the ANTI-CHRIST.....
      It's that simple.....
Yet it takes a LARGE DEGREE OF SPIRITUAL DISCERNMENT to recognize the Truth of Spirit as the Only Presence and then Be Perfect as Father Consciousness is Perfect!
So many people that accept religious ideology as truth will not like hearing this, but the Anti-Christ is the person/mind/intellect that believes there's good and evil where only the Omnipresence of God is. The mind that believes mortality to be truth where only Immortality exists. The mind that believes form is his experience where only his Invisible Spirit resides!
The true message of the bible is not for the timid, it is for those who are willing to walk the Earth in Proportion to their Receptivity of Spiritual Immortality.
Through the Realization and Acceptance of Spirit as the Only Presence, Jesus became an Interpreter and Demonstrator(as you will ultimately be)for the language of the Realization of Spirit/God as the Only Presence. Therefore, also Demonstrates the Unreality of the Material World.
The Realization of Spirit/God as the Only Presence through Jesus is inviting us to live in the Kingdom of Heaven Right Here, Right Now, through the Realization of the I....(God/Spirit) in the Midst of each of us. We are being asked to live in the 7th Day Perfect, Spiritual State of Being. We are being asked to stop struggling, surviving, searching, and trying to make things happen because we are already complete in the Kingdom of Heaven right here, as Spirit IS THE ONLY PRESENCE, and we must Rest in this Realization! This is HONORING THE SABBATH! To honor the 7th Day of Creation and Rest in it!!
      Ask yourself this question....
Is there a place where I begin and God/Spirit Ends? Is there a place where God/Spirit Ends and I Begin? If you can find that place where God Ends and You Begin you are not living in Absolute Truth, and have thereby turned away from the Reality of Your Being. If you can't find that place you must begin to go much deeper with this understanding. You must live in the Consciousness that right here, right now, there is no place where God Ends and I Begin because I and My Father are One.
There is no other you, therefore you must be perfect as your Father.
You will still have the sense of human mind/thoughts, but it will no longer be the master of your house(Consciousness)!
      MATTHEW 6:25
Therefore I say unto you, take no thought for your life, what you shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and body more than raiment?
Spirit, our Truth of Being will not flow through a Mortal/Material/Finite Sense of Reality.
There must be a meekness unto Divine Thought/Divine Sense.
Because I Am Spirit I have no human purpose.
Instead, the message of the bible has been adulterated(made inferior by adding the human mind and matter to it's discernment) to mean something entirely different than it's Spiritual meaning(Thou shalt not commit the Adulteration of Spirit)!
I, the Spirit of You, am the Way and the Truth and the Life.
Where everything appears to be, only Spirit/God is....
The Cornerstone of the Christ(God/Spiritual Consciousness Realized)Teaching is that Spirit/God is the Only Presence, not to worship Jesus the illusory form that is nothing and can do nothing of itself....(with Spirit being the only Presence, to worship anything of a material nature, such as the human form, is to worship a graven image, as all matter is a graven image).
Through Conscious Realization We must Establish Our Oneness with God/Spirit....!
"My Kingdom is not of this Material World"
My Kingdom is the One and Only Spiritual Kingdom! The Kingdom of Heaven Within!
Man must shatter the material/mortal dream through the Realization of his Immortal Spirit, but through the ignorance of his mortal nature, Man has been trying to improve the physical dream(illusion) through "good" works, praying to God for things, etc...
Therefore, to Be Reborn is to Overcome the Belief of a Human Birth, and Accept Spirit as the Only Presence(Call no Man on Earth Your Father, or woman your Mother).
What is not of Spirit is not a reality.
Every Temptation of this World is Meaningless when you know the Truth of Your Immortal Christ/God/Spiritual Being!! The Matter/Error/Evil is not there, ONLY THE TEMPTATION TO ACCEPT IT AS REALITY IS!!
Nothing of the finite world of man is of Truth/God/Spirit!
God IS Spirit, therefore, I AM the Spirit of God!
      Peace Be Unto You!!

we dont come into our home through the window, we use a door, cant drive until we insert the key. the question is, not what do i believe, but what does the bible say on the matter? a good way to escape being dooped is by always syarting our conversation with, "the bible says"- for instance: "the bible says in galatians 3;226 and 27-"for you are all the children of GOD by faith in JESUS CHRIST, IF I NOW SAY, SEE?ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS BELIEVE, BUT PUT IN CORRECT CONTEXT THE NEXT VERSE GALATIANS 3;27 SAYS"FOR AS MANY OF YOU AS HAVE BEEN BAPTIZED INTO CHRIST HAVE PUT ON CHRIST. NOW, IT SAYS A WHOLE DIFFERENT THING. WHAT BAPTIZM IS IT TALKING ABOUT? "THE BIBLE SAYS" IN ACTS 2;38- REPENT AND BE BAPTIZED, EVERYONE OF YOU, IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST FOR THE REMISSION OF SINS, AND YE SHALL RECIEVE THE GIFT OF THE HOLY GHOST. THE VERY NEXT VERSE PUTS 2;38 IN CONTEXT AND PROVES EVERYONE MUST DO THIS TO OBTAIN FORGIVENESS OF SINS AND RECIEVE THE HOLY GHOST. ACTS 2;39-N FOR THE PROMISE IS UNTO YOU, AND TO YOUR CHILDREN, AND TO ALL WHO ARE AFAR OFF, EVEN AS MANY AS THE LORD OUR GOD SHALL CALL. NEXT QUESTION DOES MY SALVATION DEPEND ON THIS? "THE BIBLE SAYS" IN MARK 16;16-HE THAT BELIEVETH AND IS BAPTIZED SHALL BE SAVED, BUT HE THAT BELIEVETH NOT SHALL BE DAMNED. SO WE CAN SEE THAT, YES BAPTIZM IS A SALAVATION ISSUE. LAST "THE BIBLE DOES NOT SAY" ANYTHING ABOUT ANY SINNERS PRAYER.

I don't think we can ever produce an analogy of the Trinity that is 100% accurate; for a start our finite minds cannot comprehend such a mind-blowing concept. As a Pastor the analogy I often use is one given to me many years ago by another Pastor who has now gone on to be with the Lord. The analogy says this; as we were originally made in God's image, to 'understand' the Trinity we should look at our self. We are made up of three separate parts, body, soul and spirit. Our body is not our soul or spirit; our soul is not our body or spirit; our spirit is not our body or soul. Each has its own function yet they are all part of me - one person - and if one were missing I would cease to exist. In some ways I see what one might call the 'created form of God' in a human being, namely our soul represents God the Father (The centre of all that is); our body represents the Son (God made flesh) and our spirit represents the Holy Spirit (God the Spirit). This is an analogy of course so should not to be taken literally! Of course like all the others this analogy is not perfect but I think it's a good one.

We are, but each of those are a part of us, something we are composed of. My soul will live on when separated from my dead body (until the resurrection.) None of them is me. But God is not composed of parts. It's funny you said "simple," because the trouble with the analogy is precisely that God is simple (in the technical sense, as in not composed of parts.) I know tone doesn't come across, so I want to clarify I'm not trying to say this unkindly. Just suggesting rethinking the analogy.

This is such a bad explanation and really shows that most people don't understand the trinity. Jesus is FULLY god. Your body/mind/soul individually are not fully you. Each are aspects of you. You're basically implying that Jesus is an aspect of God which is not the case.

No disrepect intended at all, but Jesus is by his nature fully God. Jesus is not the whole of God. This is evident in several areas, not least of which being that the Father can know something the Son does not. They are not interchangeable.
Your mind, for example, is fully you. It's your mind and nobody else's. You as a whole are not just your mind, however.

Likewise, I don't mean any ill will here whatsoever! Just having a discussion.
God constantly makes the distinction Himself between the three aspects/beings/persons or whatever you want to call them that compose His enitre being. A distinction without a difference is meaningless so there must be some difference.
God made man in His image, and spoke in the plural while doing so. This can't mean multiple gods (whole other discussion!), so what is the plurality in reference to if not these three distinct but inseparable aspects of the single being? And what was meant by "in our image"? Physically, mentally, spiritually, or all three?
Your soul will live on, agreed! But will it do so without a body or a mind? Maybe it wil and I am open to correctionl, but the text seems to indicate this not being the case. Why would we need perfected bodies if we don't require a body at all for example?

I think using the Water Molecule provides the Distinction in a way that uses Scripture Revelation ALONE as the foundation for understanding and explanation.
Jesus Simply Explained in Explaining God to us as the Fullness of the Godhead in Human Flesh, "I am IN the Father AND the Father is IN Me." OK, what about the Ruach Hakodesh or Hagios Pneuma of the Father and the Son then? Where is the Spirit and Breath?
The Ruach or the Pneuma of the LIVING BEING is always IN the LIVING BEING from Genesis to Revelation when a person or living being or soul is being revealed.
The Spirit OF the Father is IN the Father. The Spirit OF the Son is IN the Son. The Spirit bears the Name of BOTH the Father and the Son, and since the Creator Godhead of LOVE and Life has only ONE DIVINE SPIRIT, BREATH AND LIFE the Spirit then IS IN BOTH THE FATHER AND THE SON EQUALLY AND ETERNALLY.
This is one reason, of many, as to WHY Jesus Christ gave He and His Father's Ruach Hakodesh or Hagios Pneuma to His disciples by Breathing on His disciples.
Since Fullness of the Godhead of LOVE and TRUTH and LIFE Dwells Bodily in the Person of Jesus Christ, as Scripture Reveals, BOTH He and His Father must EQUALLY GIVE THE SPIRIT AS ONE, which exactly what Scripture Reveals!
I AND THE FATHER ARE ONE.
      WE ARE ONE.
WE HAVE SPIRIT, BREATH, AND LIFE.
WE FREELY GIVE OUR SPIRIT, BREATH, AND LIFE.
The Spirit and Breath can not GIVE the Spirit and Breath because the Spirit and Breath does NOT have Spirit and Breath to give, as ONLY the Person of the Father and the Person of the Son HAVE and GIVE Spirit, Breath and Life, as ONE.
The Exact Representation of the Father and the Son is reflected in the TWO Identical and yet Distinct hydrogen molecules, and the ONE oxygen molecule reflects the Spirit, Breath and Life OF the ONE Living and Life Giving Father and the ONE Living and Life Giving Son.
I've been using this simple explanation to lead countless souls to CHRIST as LORD and Savior in Jesus Name Amen! 😊❤

I am not a teacher of the Sacred Writings, but what I could understand from a reading of the Sacred Writings, I would like to share. The real question here is not whether God is manifested in three forms, but whether we agree with the teaching from God or not. ✅ Isa 54:13; All your children shall be taught by the LORD, {Jn 6:45; 1 Th 4:9;} ✍️ As a good steward/disciple of the Lord, we have to receive instruction from the Lord and agree with the Lord, otherwise we would be like Eve listening to Satan ✅ Gen 3:1;Did God actually say... ✍️ Let me ask you did the Lord God said He is One ? ✅Deu 6:4; Mar 12:28-29; Jn 10:30; ✍️ When we listen to the words of Lord Yeshua the Messiah, are we not listening to the voice of the Lord God ? Yes ✅ (Jn 3:34; 8:24,28;) ✅ 1 Sam 15:23-24; Has the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to listen than the fat of rams. For rebellion is as the sin of divination, and presumption is as iniquity and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the LORD,... ✍️ By agreeing to the teaching of the churches of Christianity, are we not in rebellion, presuming a triune god as taught in Christianity. ✍️ Are we becoming a Disciple (Christian) or are we following the teaching of the religion called Christianity, for they do not adorn the doctrine of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah ✅ (Jn 8:31; Tit 2:10; Acts 11:26;) ✍️ Only Agree with God and receive instruction from his mouth (Job 22:21-22; 23:11-12;) ✍️ If you teach beyond what Lord Yeshua the Messiah has taught, then what can I say other than are we not breaking the first and foremost commandment of God ?✍️ Don’t you know that you Souls will be purified and you will be Sanctified only when you obey Lord Yeshua Messiah. ✅{Read Acts 5:32; 1 Pe 1:22,2,9; Jn 3:36;} Christianity and its followers do not keep the commandments of God or hold to the Testimony/ teaching of Lord Yeshua Messiah (Rev 12:17; 14:17;) ✍️ They have only believed (Faith) but have not obeyed the Gospel (no works of Faith) , hearers only and not doers✅ (Rom 10:16; ✅Jam 1:22; 2:14,17,19-20,22, 24,26;) Abide by the teaching of Lord Yeshua the Messiah and not of Christianity and its followers. ✍️Tell me False disciples and False teachers, how can you say you obey Lord Yeshua Messiah when you teach Trinity, while the Lord God Taught us “ ✅ Mark 12:28-30; Which commandment is the most important of all?” Jesus answered, “The most important is, Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength”. ✅ Jn 17:11,22; even as we are one...even as we are one. ✍️ God is Spirit (Jn 4:24;) and Yeshua is the form of the Spirit (Phil 2:5-7;) ✍️ They are not two or three, but One). That is why the Apostles after the resurrection called him, Lord and God, and worshipped Him, the Almighty.
✅ Jn 20:28,31; Jn 21:1,7,12,14; Luk 24:52; Mat 28:9,17; Rev 1:18,7-8;THE ALMIGHTY ✅ Gen 49:10; To him shall be the obedience of the peoples ✅2 Cor 10:5; We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ.

How could Abraham, Isaac or Jacob, or anyone else prior to Augustine coming up with this idea believe this about the One True Glorious Creator Godhead of LOVE and TRUTH and LIFE anyway? It is literally IMPOSSIBLE to believe something to be the Truth PRIOR TO the something claiming to be the Truth ever even exists, after all. 😍
Did the thief on the cross, Ethiopian eunuch or any other person HAVE TO believe this about the Creator Godhead of SALVATION, LOVE and TRUTH and LIFE prior to this view or understanding emerging from the mind of one man?
Disagreeing with traditions and explanations of men is NOT APOSTASY, denying JESUS CHRIST IS LORD AND SAVIOR AND GOD TO THE GLORY OF YAHWEH THE FATHER, and SALVATION COMES IN HIM AND HIS NAME ALONE now this IS TRUE APOSTASY and is also BLASPHEMY OF THE HAGIOS PNEUMA as well.

God speaking via Moses, Jesus or the burning bush does NOT make them God, ok?
Adam and Eve are one, but one what? Family.
God the Father de-le-gates via Jesus, as via Moses. "I can't do anything on my own".
Hebrews 1:9 “therefore God, your God, has set you above”. The Father is Jesus’ God! Can’t be clearer.
“God is NOT a MAN, that He should lie, NOR a SON of MAN”. God sleeps and defecates not, okey?
“For there is ONE GOD, and there is ONE mediator between God and men, the MAN Christ Jesus”, and John 17:3.
You didn't find the trinity reading the Bible as a child, did you? Somebody suggested it to you.
Jesus explained we can be called “you are gods” too, we say “our Father", thus we are gods in a sense.
Did Jesus create his own mother? Nobody asked Jesus how he created the Earth.
Jesus has body, soul, spirit. God is just spirit. How can they be the same essence, they have the same spirit?
Go Unitarians! Even muslims mock Christians because of the LITERAL trinity teaching.
Why risk implying God has a multiple personalities disorder? Risk being gullible like Eve?
(Peter denied Christ x3. Event the first churches needed correction.)
A TRINITARIAN is somebody who ignores* all the above, but throws in a verse they like instead. Self-centered?
*Contradictions and lies are Impossible for God, He wouldn't be Holy.

Whichever letter you choose you are reading the scriptures. One is not more scripture than the other. They are equally and fully scripture which agree and are one. They are however distinct scriptures which exist simultaneously. They have different roles since each one was written for a different purpose. The Psalms, the gospels, and the letters to the church all have different functions.
Like I said it's not a perfect analogy, as the Holy Spirit proceeds from the Father and the Son also came from the Father, etc. Any analogy breaks down if you take it too far.

How can water co-exist at three phases (solid, liquid and gas)?
Water exists in three distinct phases at something called the triple point. Zero degrees celsius is defined by the triple point of water which is 273.16K at 611.2 Pa.
At this temperature water is in the process of changing from a solid state into the liquid phase or visa versa. Molecules in the liquid phase can loose a bit of energy and solidify whilst solid water (ice) can gain some energy and melt. This can be seen in melting ice where the solid ice exists for some time while the exposed surface melts.
Molecules in a liquid don't all have the same energy. The energies of the molecules can vary from a finite minimum, which would mark the transition back to a solid phases, up to an infinite energy (although the probability of this occurring is infinitely small). The average energy of the molecules gives us the temperature of the liquid. Statistical thermodynamics can map out the energy distribution of the water molecules. At a certain energy molecules will have enough energy to evaporate, even if the water temperature is 0 degrees C.
Because of these two effects it is possible for the water to exist as solid, liquid and gas at the same time.

The triple point is a state in which the conditions for each aggregation state is met, so they can change anyway, however there is still only one state present at each unit of water. It's not like we cannot seperate from observation which state water is in at that point like how it is impossible to tell liquid from gas apart at the supercritical point, but that's only two for one.

What if tritheism is modified in this way: human beings have distinct natures, but God being (Father, Son, Holy Spirit) has a common nature (omnipresent, omniscient, omnipotent)? This accounts for the Godhead existing individually and jointly at the same time. This is how I understand the Trinity, and it is kind of similar to the last analogy.

That is another foolish analogy, especially because the Holy Spirit is the _power_ that allows the Father and Son to be all-knowing, all-powerful, and see everything. That's what Gabriel said it is in Luk. 1:35: the _power_ of God. It is how the Father and Son are able to execute Their will. That is what was hovering over the waters in Gen. 1: God's _power_ . It was NOT, and is NOT, a separate God. Nor is it a separate self that exists inside God. It is _power_ !

None of them work because because the Bible shows Christ being subordinate to the Father's will, and that They're distinct Beings from each other. The Father raised the Son from the dead. There was an inheritance that took place and a gifting of power and authority from the Father to the Son…which means the Son did not always have the fullness of the Chief God within him.

I think you are right in saying, "The question is WHEN. WHEN was the son of God equal in nature, understanding, authority, wisdom and power with the Father? " In Deutoronomy, apostle Paul wrote that the next coming of Christ or Rupture, will happen in his lifetime. This didn't happen! Apostle Mathew immediately come to rescue by posting in the Bible that nobody knows when will the next coming of Christ be. Not even Jesus, the son of God knows it. Therefore, the son of God is not equal in nature, understanding, authority, wisdom and power with the Father.
If I may continue, the history of the Trinity came up on in the Latin Vulgate Bible in the 16th century. Previously, in the Latin Vulgate Bible or the King James version, the Trinity is the Father, Word and the Holy Spirit. No son of God is included. It was deleaneted in Erasmus Johanna Comma.

The application of θεον as a direct object of λογος in John 1 is anarthrous. It is used in a qualitative sense. ‘In the beginning’ entails that the ontological reality of any ‘thing’ other than God-like the word-is necessarily pantheistic. It is only after God’s first creative act that anything can move from the pantheistic to the panentheistic. John does not set out to assert the trinity, but rather that God is all in all-the one from whom all flows and to whom all points.

only pantheistic if you deem it to be pantheistic and loath the fact that the Word is in God and God is in the word and the Spirit is called "My Spirit" by both the Father and The Son and is in The Father and is in The Son and we find in the final chapter of the revelation of Jesus Christ, the Throne of God and of The Son {one throne} and The Spirit of God and of The Son issuing from the throne. @@jerryharder1381 I think maybe you don’t understand what I mean when I say pantheistic. Before God’s first creative act, there is no ‘other’. It is only after he creates that something exists distinctively apart from God. It is in this sense that trinitarian doctrine ubiquitously proclaims that the Son and the Spirit proceed from the Father. My position isn’t a rejection of the unique aspects of the trinity, but rather an ontology that asserts the Father as the prime mover.

I want to tell you the fascinating story about when the Trinity verse was added to the Bible. This is a well-documented fact, detailed in "Whose Word Is It?: The Story Behind Who Changed the New Testament and Why" by Professor Bart Ehrman, an expert in biblical textual criticism.
In the 16th century, Erasmus, a Dutch scholar, produced the first printed edition of the Greek New Testament. The New Testament was originally written in Greek, but had been translated into Latin over the centuries. Erasmus aimed to create a critical scholarly edition based on Greek texts, relying mainly on late medieval manuscripts from the 12th century.
Erasmus’s edition of the Greek New Testament was later used by the translators of the King James Bible and other versions until the end of the 19th century. However, the Greek manuscripts Erasmus used were not of high quality and were produced about eleven hundred years after the originals. For example, his main manuscript for the gospels included the story of the woman taken in adultery and the last verses of Mark, which were not part of the original gospels.
One key passage missing from Erasmus’s manuscripts was 1 John 5:7-8, known as the Johannine Comma, which explicitly supports the doctrine of the Trinity. This passage is found in Latin Vulgate manuscripts but not in the majority of Greek manuscripts. The King James Version includes this verse: "For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit, and these three are one."
Bart Ehrman notes, "The Greek manuscripts that Erasmus used were not of the best quality... produced some eleven hundred years after the originals." Erasmus did not find this verse in any Greek manuscripts he consulted, so he omitted it from his first edition. This omission outraged theologians of his time, who accused him of tampering with the text. Erasmus reportedly agreed to include the verse in future editions if a Greek manuscript containing it could be produced. Consequently, a Greek manuscript was created in the 16th century, likely by translating the Latin text into Greek. Despite his reservations, Erasmus included the verse in subsequent editions.
These editions formed the basis for the King James Bible and other translations for centuries. The phrase "Textus Receptus" refers to this widely accepted form of the Greek text, despite its reliance on inferior manuscripts. Modern textual scholars now insist on using older and better manuscripts to base the Greek New Testament on scientific principles.
The Textus Receptus, though still revered by some fundamentalists, is based on late medieval manuscripts, whereas earlier manuscripts, such as the Codex Sinaiticus, do not contain the Johannine Comma or other later additions. Ehrman explains, "This passage... states the doctrine directly and succinctly," but it "was not in Erasmus's primary manuscript or in any of the others that he consulted." This realization challenges the solid basis for the Trinity doctrine in the Bible, making it difficult for some Christians to accept.

There is no Holy Trinity but there is HOLY ONE.
I will not execute the fierceness of mine anger, I will not return to destroy Ephraim: for I am God, and not man; the Holy One in the midst of thee: and I will not enter into the city. Hosea 11:9
You cannot compare God to anything. Not in 3 in 1 coffee, not on Solid, Liquid, Gas. ETC.
Isaiah 40:18 “To whom then will you liken God? Or what likeness will you compare with Him?”
Can you give me the name of the Father? The Son and Holy Spirit?
Who is your True Almighty God? The Father, The Son or Holy Spirit?
Where in the Bible you can find the word "God The Son". In The Bible you can only find "Son Of God"
How can you explain this verse? 1 Timothy 1:17 Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen. (Who is it referring to?) Jesus died at the age of 33.
The Holy Scriptures speak mystery in revealing the real identity of God about who HE IS. But to people whom God had revealed Himself, this mystery is He unfolded to them as well. God's real identity is hidden in Christ, the ROCK of stumbling.
Also, the Scriptures tell about this mystery and the revelation of the ONLY ONE TRUE GOD, the LORD JESUS CHRIST.
1 Timothy 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifested in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen by angels, preached among the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up in glory.
Anyone wants to know the truth?.. I will explain the Doctrine of The HOLY ONE according to the Bible. ( Holy One Doctrine is not Oneness or Unitarian or Dualism).
Job 6:10 Then should I yet have comfort; yea, I would harden myself in sorrow: let him not spare; for I have not concealed the words of the Holy One.
Psalm 71:22 I will also praise thee with the psaltery, even thy truth, O my God: unto thee will I sing with the harp, O thou Holy One of Israel.
Psalm 89:18-19 For the LORD is our defence; and the Holy One of Israel is our king. Then thou spakest in vision to thy holy one, and saidst, I have laid help upon one that is mighty; I have exalted one chosen out of the people.
Isaiah 5:19 and 24 That say, Let him make speed, and hasten his work, that we may see it: and let the counsel of the Holy One of Israel draw nigh and come, that we may know it! Therefore as the fire devoureth the stubble, and the flame consumeth the chaff, so their root shall be as rottenness, and their blossom shall go up as dust: because they have cast away the law of the LORD of hosts, and despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.
Isaiah 12:6 Cry out and shout, thou inhabitant of Zion: for great is the Holy One of Israel in the midst of thee.
Isaiah 17:7 At that day shall a man look to his Maker, and his eyes shall have respect to the Holy One of Israel.
Isaiah 40:25 To whom then will ye liken me, or shall I be equal? saith the Holy One.
Isaiah 43: 3 For I am the LORD thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour: I gave Egypt for thy ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for thee.
Isaiah 43:14 Thus saith the LORD, your redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; For your sake I have sent to Babylon, and have brought down all their nobles, and the Chaldeans, whose cry is in the ships.
Isaiah 43: 15 I am the LORD, your Holy One, the creator of Israel, your King.
Isaiah 47:4 As for our redeemer, the LORD of hosts is his name, the Holy One of Israel.
Isaiah 54:5 For thy Maker is thine husband; the LORD of hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called.
Ezekiel 39:7 So will I make my holy name known in the midst of my people Israel; and I will not let them pollute my holy name any more: and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, the Holy One in Israel.
Hab. 1:12 Art thou not from everlasting, O LORD my God, mine Holy One? we shall not die. O LORD, thou hast ordained them for judgment; and, O mighty God, thou hast established them for correction.
Acts 13:35 Wherefore he saith also in another psalm, Thou shalt not suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
1 Jn 2:20 But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things.

Thank you for this great description and explanation. I have never found it useful to try to draw an analogy from human experience to try to "explain" the Holy Trinity. As you stated, they all (even the ones that are initially helpful) break down and reveal significant deficiencies. Except perhaps the one that God points us to very early in Scripture. In Genesis 1:26-27, it is revealed that we ourselves are made in the image of God, especially as we exist in relationship with each other ("So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.") So, if we are to look for an analog to the nature and image of God, He seems to point us to... ourselves! In particular, to our marriage relationship. Then, in the very next chapter (Gen. 2:24), we read, "Therefore shall man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh." This Hebrew word translated "one" is 'echad', and is the same word used in the the opening verse of the venerated Hebrew prayer in Deuteronomy 6:4: "Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD." God, as He exists in perfect, triune relationship, is 'echad'. And back in Genesis 2:24, a man and his wife become 'echad' through their marriage relationship.
I don't know if this helps "explain" the Trinity, but it sure lends awesome importance and wonder on the relationship God intends husbands to have with our wives.

💯 🕊️ As Christ is head of the church (body) and you cannot have a functioning body without a head! Just as Man is head of the Woman.
I often imagine every other faith literally as headless people with no God guiding them stumbling blindly along.
Woman was taken from man’s side. Hebrew for side is Tsela I believe. And when Eve was taken from Adam she was taken from his side. Though it’s been translated as rib.
And Jesus came from the Father and that’s why he told us we ought to be pleased that he is returning to God’s right hand side …
Because where He is we will also be. Jesus said it was a profound mystery. Christ and the Church.
We really struggle explaining what’s God given to those chosen by God, to other people, but we can only quote scripture and it’s then in Gods hands as to whether they will receive him.
This is what most Christians lose their peace and joy over. I know I have. When I want so badly for everyone to know him as we do. But it’s really Jesus who can make the seeds we plant grow.
I noticed your comment mostly as you stuck to Gods word and scripture. Bless you for that!! It’s the right way to spread the word. 🙏🏼🕊️ And I was pleased to see it as I too like to stick with Gods teachings

I was going to at least mention this. But if Dr. Ware is aware of it (you'd think he would be since Dr. Walter Martin used it quite often), he probably decided it would take too much time to explain why he didn't think it was a good analogy. It fails, because it is impossible for any particular water molecule (let alone a group of them) to 'simultaneously' be all three phases! You can find different ones in different phases in the container, but it's impossible for any given _unit_ of water to be all three at the same time! In reality, it's an analogy for "Modalism"; that water can be 3 phases, but not all 3 at the same time... or perhaps "partialism," where the water is divided up into 3 different phases.

I would use that analogy but some might say does not scripture say God breathed into man and he became a living soul also while scripture calls us living souls it calls God a quickening spirit. Jesus told Nicodemus that he had to be born of the Spirit to see the kingdom of God. We like to use the word spirit but how is it that we are spiritually dead until born again and the only ones who can worship God in Spirit and truth are those who are born again. It seems that Spirit would be his Spirit which would leave out humanity.

I agree but not to the extent that this is a supporting analogy for the trinitarian concept of God, much rather the opposite. Adam was made in the image of God (Genesis 1:27-27) yet he was one person comprised of or possessing multiple aspects of being: body, soul, and spirit/mind.
So it is with God. He is one person: Father in creation (Mal. 2:10) and uniquely of Jesus Christ (Hebrews 1); Son in redemption via the incarnation, (Matthew 1:20-23 and Luke 1:35): and Holy Spirit in nature/essence. (John 4:24)
We further see this truth via the Great Commission:
Matthew 28:18-20 KJV - And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
Luke 24:46-48 KJV - And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. And ye are witnesses of these things.
Acts 2:14 KJV - But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words:
This was fulfilled when Peter preached on the day of Pentecost.
Acts 2:38 KJV - Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Matthew 16:18-19 KJV - And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
Acts 2:41 KJV - Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.
Acts 2:47 NKJV - praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.
      Respectfully,

DISCLAIMER - this comment is LONG, but if you stick with me to the end, I think you'll find that it was WORTH THE READ. That is, if you genuinely like to reflect on the Nature of the Trinity.
As soon as I read the title of this video, I got excited. I thought, "Finally, someone is going to attempt to explain the Trinity in a way that helps us to understand the Nature of God. The speaker in the video did a good job at explaining some of the false views of the Trinity and some of the analogies / images that are good or bad at representing the Trinity. But his analogy at the end was a little simplistic in my opinion. Three different colored circles all stacked on top of one another... ehhhh.... I think that we can get more creative than that with discussing the Nature of the Trinity. So I figured I would share some of the thoughts that I have concerning the Nature of God and see if it resonates with others or if others find it helpful or misleading. But to me, the following explanation has become a core idea in my theology and in my mind that I reflect upon often. It has given me much comfort and peace as these ideas sink in more and more.
Disclaimer: I know that the following reasoning has its limitations (as all human logic does), but nevertheless this has really helped me in my understanding of how God can be both One but yet multiple Persons at the same time.
God exists in eternity past. And as God is existing, He is aware of Who He IS. Of what He IS like. God’s awareness of Himself is not like our awareness of ourselves. With us, our understanding of ourselves is mostly our ego. Who we think we are and who others have told us we are. But that image we have of ourselves in our minds is very limited. Even if we had a thorough understanding of the depths of our own psyche, the image we can draw up of ourselves in our head doesn’t include the complexities of all our cells and the activities that they are continually engaged in. Or the millions of nerve endings throughout our body or the synapses continually firing in our brains. Our image of ourselves usually doesn’t include any of these things. But even if it did, and we had a complete and comprehensive picture-perfect understanding of who we are, the image we have of ourselves in our mind would still be just that - an image. It wouldn’t be fully like us because, in the end, it is still just an idea of who we are in our head. It is not us.
But this is not the case when it comes to God. His ways are higher than ours. If God were ask Himself, “Who AM I ?” Or “What AM I Like ?” then He would have no problem having a perfect Image of Who He IS in His own Mind (now I am aware that God doesn’t have a “mind” in the same sense as we do, with our “mind” being bound to our brain. But God doesn’t have a physical “brain” as we do, but rather God IS Spirit. Not physical. At least not until the Incarnation). As God sees Who He IS in His Own Mind, the Image that He has of Himself is FULLY like Him. In all ways. Including the fact that this Image is Conscious. As God is Conscious. God is completely capable of being so aware of Who He IS that the Image He perceives is FULLY like Him. The Image of God IS also Conscious. Thus we have Two Conscious Persons Co-Existing. One Begotten of the Other. We have an Eternal Father and Son. This also helps us to understand why Jesus would say that the Father is “greater than Him” or that He is “sent from the Father.” They ARE Both COMPLETELY God but one is rightfully called Father and the Father has “Begotten” a Son. But Their Identity and Life and bound to One Other.
If God is a Conscious God, then there MUST be Another Conscious Person there with Him, because He is completely Aware of His Own Essence to such an extent that the Image He has of Himself in His Own Mind is also Conscious. Thus we have an eternal Father and Son. Existing TOGETHER. Both completely God. But existing in Two Persons at the same time. And these two Persons are Both aware of the Other. They Both see and behold the Glory of the Other and delight in and rejoice over the Other. The Father is so joyous in His Love for the Son that He desires to pour out ALL of His Essence and Being upon His Son. He holds nothing back. He pours out so much of Himself that it can right be called God. It is not as if He is pouring out part of what He has to offer but that He pours out His very Being and Essence. It IS God. It is His Spirit. And the Son does the same thing back to the Father. Pouring out His very Essence and Being upon the Father. Thus we affirm the Athanasian Creed - the Spirit proceeds from BOTH the Father AND the Son.
So we find a God Who IS Conscious. Existing in Two Persons. But God is also Relational. We can rightly say that He exists in Three Persons. Each bound to the Others and finding Their Identity in the Other. If God is Conscious, then there must be at least Two Persons. And if there are Two, They are are Relational. And if The are Relational, then perhaps it can be argued that there is a Third Person. If They share Themselves COMPLETELY with the Other, then the “Thing” flowing from Them is also FULLY God. Otherwise They would only be sharing things they have vs. Them sharing Their very Essence with One Another.
    A few additional thoughts -
These thoughts are a little rough and still need to be polished more, but I feel like what we observe in the physical world testifies to the idea of Oneness and Plurality. Wouldn’t it be fitting that this God would create the world to behave in such a way that it reflects His Nature? Wouldn’t it make sense that His creation would reflect some of His Own Attributes? Let us look closer to see if this is the case. Consider the nature of energy. I am sure that you have heard it said that “everything is ultimately vibration or energy.” Well what does it mean for something to vibrate? It can only be understood as you come to understand how that “thing” is relating to other “things.” You can not know that the first thing is vibrating or oscillating unless it is seen in relationship to other “things.” If that thing existed alone, you wouldn’t even know that it is moving or vibrating. You can only understand the behavior of that thing by understanding its relationship to other things. The same is true of God. You can not know Who God IS or what He is doing unless you understand Him as He relates to “otherness.” As He relates to His Son and how They relate to One Another through the Spirit. This is the starting point of understanding anything in nature and it is also our starting point in understanding the Nature and Being of God. They must be understood by studying Their relationship to “other.”
Additionally, let us consider not just the nature of energy as a whole, but specific types of energy - thermal energy and electrical energy. These type of energy behave in such a way that they always share from a greater to a lesser. They are not greedy. They always seek equilibrium. This is true of the Nature of God as well. The Father does not hoard His Own Glory but shares it with the Son. He does not hold anything back from His Son, but shares all things with Him. So much so that He pours out His entire Being and Essence upon His Son. He shares the fullness of His Spirit with His Son. And the Son does the same with the Father. There is complete Equilibrium. Just as we see in thermal and electrical energy. They seek equilibrium.
I know that some of these ideas are a little rough and in the their early stages, but I believe that they may help some of you on your journey to discovering the Nature of God as they have helped me. Glory to the Father. Glory to the Son. Glory to the Spirit. Three in One. Blessings upon all who read this.
Please comment and let me know if this makes sense to you, because I want to develop these ideas more fully, but I need some constructive feedback from the Body of Christ.

Interesting idea, but why start with the idea that God is three when we are never told that God is three? The concept that an Almighty God can choose to be what God chooses to be (I AM THAT I AM) would seem to be a better starting point.
With the analogy given in the bible that Jesus is the image of the invisible God. Therefore if we think about what that means. Simply look into a mirror. Who do you see? Yourself and at the same time distinct from you your image. Just as Jesus said he did nothing of Himself only what the Father did. If someone has seen your image they can also say they know what you look like too. Simple analogy from the bible. God was manifest in the flesh, or represented in the flesh. Never are we told a distinct person with God was represented only God. Even John 1:...Word (logos) became flesh. Logos didn't mean person before Word became flesh. You can look up the meaning of logos for its ancient Greek meaning. It basically means thought, reason, logic, wisdom, idea, and plan. All ways that someone can know someone that you have never met. If I was to tell you all about me with my "words" this is my logos. My logos has always been with me. My logos is not another person with me. If I was spirit as Jesus said God is I would need to have flesh and blood to do what only God can do. Become flesh as we are told. Therefore Jesus would have existed as a distinct person with God but as God alone. Meaning God can choose to be the Almighty God in heaven and the lamb slain before the foundation of the world all at the same time. The Holy Spirit according to Jesus is said to be Another. Which means another of the same. Obviously not another only begotten Therefore another way God chooses to be represented for us.
You seem to be a deep thinking person so I would hope you pray and consider this.

Catholic Romanism, Trinitarianism, or what is rightly the political doctrine, Constantine-Theodosius Romanism is false religion.
It is a Satanic doctrine of inference found no where in the Bible and especially not in the New Testament and not found on the lips of Jesus nor any of the apostles, no where found in the gospels, nor the letters, nor Acts, nor Revelation.
Trying to rationalize a false doctrine while in the flesh compounds the problem. So doing is doing the work of Satan.

@@andrewbrown9497 Thanks for the feedback. I appreciate your thoughts and for sharing. Personally though I didn’t think that I was starting with Three, but Three is the conclusion I came to in the end. I actually started with the question, “Is God Conscious?” And the line of reasoning I presented above is what came out of years of meditating on that question. But to me, it seems to be in line with the historical confession of the Church, that God is Three Persons but yet One in His Being and Essence. And God is clearly in some type of fellowship with Himself in eternity past. Just read John 17. I was merely trying to point out that both philosophy and creation itself (nature) both affirm what the Church has already preached and held to for 2,000 years. It wasn’t invented. It was the people of God recognizing a Truth that is self existent. Philosophy and reason along with nature and the created order affirm the idea of Plurality and Oneness being at the core of God’s Essence. The Christ has to be more than just a reflection. The Truth has to go deeper. A reflection is not alive and conscious, like the Son of God IS. I fear that sticking too close to the reflection analogy gets close to modalism. But instead we see the Son talking to, having fellowship with, and Being in Relationship with the Father. Both while on Earth and before the Earth began. John 17.

Reread my initial comment again and the Scriptures listed there. Once you have done that, then have a genuine conversation with me about the logic / reasoning presented there. But if you are simply going to take everything I said, put into a box that you made a label for, and call it heresy, without even mentioning ANY of what I said in your so called rebuttal, then we both have better things to do with our time. But if you want to have a genuine and respectful conversation, then please start there.

@@davidromesburgYou actually began with your first paragraph ending "...if you genuinely like to reflect on the Nature of the trinity." The trinity is three separate persons. That is therefore starting with three. The concept that God is three has never been mentioned in the Bible. At best the concept is trying to explain that God is something God has never revealed to mankind. Although we have the stressed concept that God is one. One Almighty God. Again and again that point is made. Consider that a reason to not have an analogy that God is three is because God is one. The analogy of the image, that is given, therefore should be considered and understood. That concept is given to us in the Bible.
As Jesus told us God is spirit. What if a invisible spirit (God) looks into a mirror? By all that we know there would be no image. Therefore something would have to "come into being" for there to be an image. Watch the movie "Invisible man" same concept. Also if you haven't noticed I am using concept from the Bible that tells us about what we are talking about. None have mentioned the concept that a person with God that was also God but not another God was the source of the image.
Neither are we told that one of the persons became flesh. We are although told Word (Logos) became flesh. Which was with and was God. Understanding the ancient Greek meaning of logos is important. Most of us, and even a good friend of mine that does speak modern Greek, has no knowledge of its meaning. Logos can be understood just as if I was to tell you all about me, or at least all I wanted you to know about me. God was known to those in the Old testament only through the prophets. Hebrews 1:1 When God spoke to the people many times and many ways. Again not persons of Himself, but God doing this. The next verse is even better. So what proof is there that proves God is something we are told compared to clear scripture that tells us God is one? One that is without limits. Limitless one. Just as scripture tells us a plural one. Without limits.
Often John 17 is brought up as proof of Jesus's being with the Father before the world existed. Of itself it would be compelling. The clear issue is context. Was Jesus here giving us insight of His and the Father duality? No we are not being given new insight that conflicts with John chapter one, or 1 John chapter one. If Jesus was He would have explained this at some point. The context of John 17 is not for insight of Jesus being a person with God, but acknowledgement of what was for told. Example the lamb slain before the foundation of the world, bruising his heel while crushing his head.
Consider what is given to us rather consider what is not. For example you can consider Santa Claus. You can justify all sorts of reasons for him. It doesn't change what it true. Search for the truth not to prove what is never told.
We are also told Jesus is God manifest in the flesh. Or that God was manifest in the flesh. Manifest means represent. God represented in the flesh. Again never are we told one of the persons was what was represented in the flesh. The concept that God is three presons would first need to be confirmed first in order for that assumption to be used. Without the knowledge that God is three should only leaves us with the knowledge of what God is which again brings us back to the limitless one. Represented in anyway God chooses to be represented. I AM THAT I AM

I have always found in Saint Thomas the most beautiful analogy of the Trinity:
So, in man, the likeness of God is found by way of an image according to the mind; but according to other parts of him, it is found by way of a trace.
    ( Cf. Summa Theologiae, I, 93, a.6 co.)
And therefore, the image of the Trinity is primarily and principally considered in the mind according to its acts, inasmuch as, from the knowledge we have, we form words by thinking inwardly, and from this, we burst forth into love.
    (Cf. Summa Theologiae, I, 93, a.7 co.)

I've been thinking about this coming from being a software engineer, and familiarity with VR. I'm a programmer, I wrote a program which is simply the expression of thought that creates a virtual world, I can't personally interact with this world since I'm in a higher dimension than the program, the program has creative force and can do anything I want in this VR world, but it can't interact with the characters within the world, so I create an avatar (please ignore the Hindu roots of the word), this avatar lets me put on a virtual body and interact within the boundaries of the world. All are me, just different and distinct representations of me. I used a similar analogy when I was chatting in VR with someone, they said "you want me to believe in a God that knows everything about me, and everyone else, and even the hairs on my head are numbered?" I told them you realize you're in VR, the program knows everything about you, where you are in the program, renders how you look, and knows it for everyone else in the program, so how is this hard to believe?

My analogy is like that... The author of a book - he creates the universe of the book. He is separate from the book, but his "spirit" inhabits all of his creation. Then he enters into the book as a character in the story, showing the other characters in the book, what the Author is like. I thought of that when my father in law wrote a novel about some of his experiences. He "made up" the stories (but they were all based on real events of his career). He was the main character of the story. As the characters in the story develop, according to their personalities and experiences, they make choices and live lives accordingly, but also according to the "will" of the Author. As all analogies, it falls short, but I think it is a pretty good one. (The Triple point of water is good too, for scientist-type people; Dr. Ware doesn't get it. But the author analogy is pretty obvious when you think about it. At least I think so.)

I am not a teacher of the Sacred Writings, but what I could understand from a reading of the Sacred Writings, I would like to share. This was all part of the great apostasy announced by Jesus : after the death of his 12 apostles christian who came from different background inserted things that were in their old false religion. Paul talks about the fact that it had begon during his stewardship and would get worst so by the time Constantine adopted the christian faith in order to unite his empire under one religion in the year 323 after Christ so after that in 323 the concile of Nicea aded to the great apostasy.

    The transitive property (of equality).
    Explanation:
The transitive property of equality tells us that if
a=b,b=c, then it follows that a=c.
The doctrine of the trinity violates this.

@@conradrichard1492 .. you've already failed - no scripture says 'God the Holy Spirit' - the spirit is not a person, it is God's active force and at Jesus' baptism it was symbolised as a dove descending from heaven (it was not in transit through the sky)
You appear to be extremely ignorant when it comes to bible knowledge.
At his baptism, Jesus was anointed with holy spirit - he then regained full knowledge of his pre-human existence in heaven alongside his Father and became aware of the ministry that he was about to undertake as God's perfect Son. He did not need to be taught at any of the Rabbinical schools, since his knowledge came direct from Almighty God by means of holy spirit.
Take note that at Pentecost 33 C.E holy spirit was poured out on Jesus' disciples enabling them to go out and preach the 'gospel' to the nations (gentiles - non-Jews) - a person cannot be poured out, making your misrepresentation total nonsense.

In the Flatland, 3rd dimension can only be experienced as a dot or a line. We are Flatlanders when it comes to Trinity. We have communication from beyond the Flatland. But to describe it lacks for us. We can not see from above or 3rd dimension ( as in this visual).

    • @leightonanderson
      @leightonanderson Před 2 měsíci

So, that would be an analogy, right? "Trying to explain the Trinity to humans is like trying to explain three dimensional space to Flatlanders." But here's where that analogy fails: one must first presume the existence of the higher dimensional space or (like A Square) experience it directly and have it explained by Sphere. Yes?
But trinitarian theorizing (now hardened after centuries into fixed dogma) isn't like that at all. Trinitarianism is explicitly proposed as an explanation. Specifically as a way to reconcile strict monotheism with the (at least) three deities identified in the New Testament. For such an explanation to work, it must have explanatory power - that is, it must lead the hearer to an understanding of how the apparent contradiction may logically be resolved.
In Flatland, A Square attempts to explain multi-dimensional space through mathematics. Importantly, he is able to demonstrate how that mathematics is internally consistent. Please read that sentence again: he is able to demonstrate how that mathematics is internally consistent. Yes, he encounters quasi-religious opposition, but his mathematics stands the test of mathematical rigor.
Nothing of the kind can be said for trinitarianism. In the past 1,800 years (plus or minus, that figure is not intended to be precise), there has never been a demonstration of the internal consistency of the trinitarian claim that the three divine persons can somehow comprise only one divine being (or divine essence or whatever). It is logically impossible for the simple (mathematical!) reason that 3 > 1. Every attempted trinitarian "explanation" in the history of the world founders on the fundamental truth that three of something cannot be one of that same thing. You can have one set of three members, but if the members of the set are all persons then that set is still comprised of the three distinct members, like it or not. (If we say that Father, Son and Spirit are united into a unified Godhead, then that survives logical challenge but still leaves you with three distinct deities.)
This is why people search for analogies, in an effort to find a way, somehow, to take God the Father, God the Son, and God the Spirit and smoosh them all together as just one God. All of the analogies fail because there isn't a way to do that. You can try to pretend that if you somehow had the divine perspective, you would then see the solution, but that's just admitting that the trinitarian explanation is itself internally contradictory and therefore wrong.

I heard someone telling that trinity is like a coin. For example, One side of the coin has a number to denote it's value. The other side will have some emblem like the head of king/queen etc. That is to denote the authenticity of that piece of metal. Now there is the third side (the ridge) without that third side you cannot have a coin made. In other words, without the three sides, you can't have a coin of any value.

, THE BIBLE NEVER SHOWS ANY PERSON REPEATING A SINNERS PRAYER, , , WE CAN LEAVE THE SUBJECT OF THE TRINITY OUT OF IT AND JUST ASK, what MUST I DO TO BE SAVED? THE JAILER IN ACTS 16;23-33 ITS RIGHT THERE IN THE BIBLE TO SEE, PAUL AND SILUS ANSWERED : BELIEVE ON THE LORD JESUS CHRIST AND THOU SHALT BE SAVED, BELIEVING ALONE T DOES NOT SAVE, THE NEXT 2 VERSES DEMONSTRATE WHAT SAVING FAITH DOES: AND THEY SPAKE UNTO HIM THE WORD OF THE LORD, AND TO ALL THAT WERE IN HIS HOUSE, AND HE TOOK THEM THE SAME HOUR OF THE NIGHT, AND WASHED THEIR STRIPES, (AND WAS BAPTIZED, ACTS 2;38) HE AND ALL HIS STRAIGHTWAY. WE CAN READ IN THE BIBLE, THAT PAUL NEVER TOLD THE JAILOR THE HE NEEDED TO ACCEPT OR RECIEVE THE LORD AS A PERSONAL SAVIOR, HE NEVER HAD HIM REPEAT THE SINNERS PRAYER FOUND IN EVERY TRINITARIAN CHICK PUBLICATIANS TRACT. ACTS 2;38 DOESNT ONLY APPEAR IN ACTS 2;38 ITS ALL OVER , EVERY PERSON CONVERTED AND WHO BECAME A "CHRISTIAN"ACTS 11;26 WAS BAPTIZED IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST , IN ACTS 22;16 PAUL RECOUNTS HIS OWN CONVERSION ACCORDING TO ACTS 2;38 IN HIS OWN WORDS; ROMANS 6;1-6 EPHESIANS 4;3-6 BUT, THAT SAID, HOW MANY FOLKS CLAIMING THE TRINITY WILL ACTUALY OPEN THE BIBLE AND READ THIS FOR THEMSELVES? NOT MANY, A VAST MAJORITY ARE FABRICATING A COMEBACK INSTEAD, NOT REALIZING ITS GODS WORD, AND THEREFORE GOD HIMSELF THEY ARE FIGHTING, WILL YOU DEAR READER BE BOLD ENOUPH TO CHECK UP ON THIS AND SEE IF IT IS SO? GOOGLE EVERY BAPTIZM IN THE BIBLE NOBODY IS EVER BAPTIZED IN 3 ANYTHING AS IN MATHEW 28;19 AM I AGAINST 28;19? NO! JESUS IS THE FATHER ISAIAH 9;6 HE IS THE SON, ISAIAH 9;6 HE IS "THE MIGHTY GOD" ISAIAH 9;6 FATHER SON AND HOLY GHOST ARE TITLES, NOT NAMES AND MATHEW 28;19 READS BAPTIZING THEM IN THE NAME (SINGULAR) JAMES 2;19 SAYS THOU BELIEVEST THERE IS ONE GOD, THOU DOEST WELL, THE DEVILS ALSO BELIEVE, AND TREMBLE ROMANS 6;1-6 PROVES THE ENTIRE NEW TESTAMENT IS WRITTEN TO AND FOR THOSE WHO HAVE (PST TENSE) ALREADY BEEN BAPTIZED, UNDER 2 OR 3 WITNESESS, EVERY WORD SHALL BE ESTABLISHED, GALATIANS 3;26-27 READ THUS:FOR YOU ARE ALL THE CHILDREN OF GOD BY FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST. IS IT ONLY BY THAT FAITH? NO, ABSOLUTELY NOT. THE VERY NEXT VERSE READS:FOR AS MANY OF YOU AS HAVE BEEN (PAST TENSE) BAPTIZED (PST TENSE) INTO CHRIST HAVE PUT ON CHRIST. I REPEAT THE ENTIRE NEW TESTAMENT (THATS AFTER THE RESURECTION) IS WRITTEN SPECIFICLY AND DIRECTLY TO THOSE, ONLY THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN BAPTIZED AS IN ACTS 2;38 HOW MUCH OF ME, MYSELF HAVE I JUST POSTED? OR DID I NOT PRESENT ONLY BIBLE SCRIPTURE? IN CONCLUSION, I MENTIONED THAT FATHER SON AND HOLY GHOST ARE TITLES NOT NAMES THATS WHY, SHOCKER, YOU WONT FIND THE APOSTLES TO WHOM MAT 28;19 WAS BEING SPOKEN TO BY JESUS EVER, AND NEVER BAPTIZED ANYONE IN 3 ANYTHING , DO THE APOSTLES SOUND LIKE TRINITARIANS TO YOU? WERE THEY BAFOONS WHO DISOBEYED GOD, WHO IS JESUS, AND POOR OL GOD WAS JUST HELPLESS TO STOP ALL THIS? PICTURE IT: OH NO YOU STUPID APOSTLES! WHY ARENT YOU TEACHING THEM THE SINNERS PRAYER? AND YOU FORGOT TO TELL THEM IM ONLY A SECOND PERSON IN A TRINITY! (... CRICKETS CHIRPING)

I like to use the analogy of social roles (from sociology): I am a teacher, a husband, and a father.
Each of these expressions of me is distinct, but they are all me. The teacher me functions differently than the husband me (it would be inappropriate if they didn't), the nature of the relationships the context of the interactions, and the attitudes and behaviors differ quite dramatically, to the point where you might say a am a different person. However, I am still one person and each of these expressions are undisputedly me.
    I hope that makes sense.

    • @andrewbrown9497
      @andrewbrown9497 Před 4 měsíci

That's a biblical analogy, but not of a triune god. Because we can only be what we are only. The Almighty God can choose to be Father Son and Holy Spirit as distinct persons. Your analogy is good because it starts with what we are told. God is one just as you are one. God was manifest (represented) in the flesh. Therefore we see the image of the invisible God. Not some other person with God. Just as your image is distinct from you but also you. It does nothing of itself. If someone has seen your image they can say they know what you look like. Not what someone with you looks like. The issue with the trinity is saying God "is" these three presons and each of these persons reveals themselves.

Another illustrative concept I've found useful (but also not perfect) is to consider the universe. It is defined by three separate components: time, space, and matter (or energy). Remove any one and the universe doesn't exist. Others have attempted to equate each of these components to a person of the Godhead, but this may be stretching the illustration beyond its usefulness. Also, one may consider each component as its own trinity. Space as height, width, and depth. Time as past, present, and future. Etc. A triune God and his triune creation.
