I'm sorry to hear Merrylegs passed. He was a FEISTY GUY! Merrylegs experienced love & kindness during the time he was at Horse Plus & for that, I am thankful. He was such a cute guy! Run free big guy!
Sad but none of us could foresee this outcome. Sorry for staff and merrylegs.
Merrylegs had a wonderful last home, full of love and care.

Watching this made me think about the horse at the auction that was butchered with a botched castration and goes to show only vets should be doing this procedure as they not only have the skills but the knowledge of what to do if any problems arouse. I'm so sorry about Merrylegs. I have a 23 year old mini stallion. I've only had him about 5 years. I won't have him gelded because of the risks. But I'm also not in the same position as you are, having to have a safe horse for adoption. And all my other horses are geldings, so he isn't going crazy with mares in season. Merrylegs knew he was very loved with you. Thank you for all you do.
that's the rude life of owning and caring for animals. sometimes all goes well, sometimes it doesn't. I'm super sad for Merrylegs, what a sad loss, but you did all he needed for a better life, sometimes, it just doesn't work. Good job, and thank you for all you do for the animals in need

I'm happy how they let the people know what happened to Merrylegs and didnt sweep that under the rug. Sometimes the unexpected happens.

So sorry about Merry Legs. I know y'all did your best with them. It is always possible that there are often hidden issues with any animal which are smaller than the average. Some people refer to these types of animals as genetic messes due to their tiny size.

I love how the Dr.’s work together and there’s now power struggles. Dr. Gina will be a better veterinarian in the long run because of the time she’s spent with Dr. Lydia.

Y'all Merrylegs is jumping and leaping and having a blast in the Heavenly's!!! I'm very disturbed this happened but w ANY animal under anesthesia, these are the Risk!!! Breaks my heart his life ended at such a young age....💔🙏🙏😪❤🐎❤️

I found it interesting that you showed the castration but on the regular channel you blurred our injuries
No matter how much man knows only God can determine the outcome. These wonderful Vets do their best for their patients.
True but I have to agree with some of the comments that possibly all the med's that was given to him plus Anastasia was to much for his heart. I wish the vet's would wait a few days before administering these drugs.

What's sad is many of these are done with no anesthesia. Can you imagine the trauma. 😢
The sad thing is the pony died. No, I can’t imagine no anesthesia. Oh, how awful that would be.
Vets were optimistic or they would have xrayed merrylegs before the gelding
oh that's sad but I'm glad he got good care. I'm glad youtube allowed us to actually watch that surgery. It blows my mind how people are doing gelding surgeries while horses are standing and unmedicated at all. Watching this surgery made it even more clearer how invasive castration really is (it's a pity that the lawmakers don't watch this, show them this)

Can someone please tell me if the Tennessee walker you all were taking warts out of his ears has been relieved of his warts or has he died. As I never see or hear about him. Oh so sorry about the little mini Merrylegs. He was so cute
The Tennessee Walker is still doing good, and is shown in the main channel episodes when they are feeding the horses, you can’t really see the warts anymore so it is difficult to tell it is him. He is in the pasture next to black beauty. In S5E3 19:30 minutes in they talk about Glimmer.
Not understanding why vaccinations are given at the same time as anesthesia. Was his system overwhelmed? Why take the chance when they can be given by the Vets anytime.

For anyone who might not know? "Merrylegs" was the pony in the book "Black Beauty". He was rude and grumpy, and you couldn't even get him to be nice for apples. But years later, Beauty sees Merrylegs dying, and grieves for him.
As we do now.

Yarrow tea. Stops the blood, takes away the pain (or a good bit of it), and disinfects. Gotta love yarrow.
Oh, I only use topically. Don't tolerate more than a drop internally myself.
They may be "little castrations" but I'm sure it was a big deal to the patients!

Oh my perfect example of being alert to what is going on when you are performing medical conditions. Staff could been hurt bad when the donkey fell lucky he wasn't hurt more as well being in that gated area without the door closed properly :(
