    by doing this upgrade you are going to solve a huge problem if you are experiencing lost of boost between gears it might be the n249
    i had the problem that when i hit the gas the car will boost 10 psi but when i change gear the car will loose all boost lets say form 4 gear it will boost great but putting 5 gear it will loose all the boost and that's because the n249 gets stuck in the open position so once i bypass the n249 and put a direct vacuum line the car start to boost again in all gears so to me it was really worth spending time doing this hope you like the video and you can subscribe for more videos every week

    just did this this in ten minutes, I have about 30 feet of extra vacuum line from my brother's Saab 9 5 Aero High Output 2.3L Turbo. It's so easy, anyone, unless they were maimed can do this. In ten minutes

    The N249 with no signal from the ECU communicates the manifold vacumm to the DV, and when the N249 receives signal from the ECU it communicates the reservoir of vacumm to the DV.
    Therefore the presence of the N249 I consider is necessary to have a better reaction in the engine to be able to activate the DV even when there is still boost in the manifold, therefore the overpressure does not force the opening of the N75 and the turbo does not fall from Rpm giving better reaction.
    As a conclusion I think removing the N249 engine would have less reaction and unnecessary wear on the turbo
    The only thing I see as positive when removing the n249 is less vacuum lines, better appearance

    @bucketoftruthify Před 7 lety

    I'm doing this temporarily and maybe put n249 back in service in future.
    I'm not going to tap into the FPR vacuum though, I'm just going to use the one VW used to supply vacuum to BOV/n249/etc.
    In this vid, aqualo had already installed the aftermarket BOV and tied into FPR for vacuum. Looks like good installl though.
    Personally, I would change it so fpr vacuum is dedicated to just fpr.

    @squalo777 does this also apply to b6a4 with amb engine code? I lose boost under acceleration but when I let off it builds up..? I know it sounds strange and it's a little hard to explain but eventually boost does buildup and I lose boost between gears

  • @WarHawk427
    @WarHawk427 Před 8 lety +8

    Do not do this, the n249 is controlled by the ecu and can close the diverter valve in cases where it would be normally open, therefore the ecu can create boost in part throttle situations. LET THE ECU do what's best for the engine! It's there for a reason!

    • @squalo777videos
      @squalo777videos  Před 8 lety +3

      I totally disagree!!! If you take a moment to read your comments you saying that the ecu can close the diverted valve when it's normally open witch is bad for your Turbo and I believe that if the ecu can close it when is open and can also leave it open when it suppose to be close right? If what your saying it's right !!!then the n249 bypass would be a good upgrade, cause you no longer need the ecu, or the valve to open or close your diverter valve, when the n249 fails and fails miserably!!! Leaving the valve open and sending all the boost that the Turbo is creading back to the intake, with the n249 bypass you don't have to worry about that it's a direct vacuum line going to the diverter valve, do a little bit more research you'll see it's worth doing it

    • @takedwon98
      @takedwon98 Před 8 lety +3

      you think the engine can creat boost by itself by closing the dv??? the dv doesnt build boost.. it simply bypasses boost when you let off the throttle. the n249 valve is a slow reacting valve and when it works it does its job but when it fails its bad and for me it gave me massive turbo fludder.. yes the evc does whats it programed todo but when you have more boost or change the motor at all and the ecu is still running stock it doesnt know what is better for th engine

    • @jutjub22
      @jutjub22 Před 4 lety

      That is true, but what about letting off the throttle situations. N249 can react faster than the intake. So n249 can let off the boost quicker while intake is still under boost, which is better for the turbo? How much does n249 delete put strain on turbo is the question.

    it was a bad coil pack sending the car into limp mode until I restarted the engine. I just got all new spark plugs, just the stock ngk double or triple platinum, the stock ones, and the red Audi 06e coil packs. I didn't have enough to get the adapter plate but they sell overhead bolt on adapters for cheaper.

Is this something i need to worry about? From the video I'd imagine the vacuum is pretty much going straight to the n249? Great video btw! Thank you. • @squalo777videos
      @squalo777videos  Před 9 lety +1

      OK by doing the n249 bypass you'll be able to hold boost better this upgrade is for the diverter valve or blow off valve the n249 open and close the dv valve and most of the times it stays open and that's how you loose boost if you do the n249 you putting a straight vacuum line for the diverter valve in short words this makes the diverter valve to operate much better

    • @squalo777videos
      @squalo777videos  Před 9 lety

      Rini Sugiarto ok the n249 is the one responsible to open and close your bov or diverter yes it give you better throttle response cause your not depending from the n249 to close or open, by putting a direct vacuum line you dont have to worry about leaking air because the n249 didn't close fast enough its a great upgrade and it really really work better than the n249 i have had this upgrade for a year now with no check engine light everything works good and my car hold's boost really good, go to vortex.com you can see a lot of reviews of the n249 upgrade but ether way its a great upgrade

      if you have a stock ecu you should be spiking at least 13 psi and holding 8 psi your are not loosing boost bro is pretty normal you always going to have a spike of 13 to 15 and hold 8 with a stock ecu believe me bro it's normal if you wanna be able to hold more boost do your ecu upgrade right now your engine is very healthy except for the part when said you unplugged your n75 in most cases when you unplugged you'll only boost 5 psi so remember to keep your n75 plugged

      LetsPlayDaPc Stock DV sucks ass and is super weak, can barely hold any more than stock boost. My 1.8t is equipped stock with the 710C diverter valve, and I just used an MBC to bump up my boost to 11 psi. Almost immediately after I started hearing the diverter valve diaphragm humming and being under a ton of pressure it isn't built for. I'd recommend the 710N for a DV upgrade, it's the stock Audi TT DV and is strong enough to handle about 18 psi, while being a good, cheap OEM component.
