  • So, the N249 Delete. It's a VERY popular modification, but is it wise to delete a part that Audi spent time and money developing?

Outstanding content, explained clearly, no confusion and I was able to understand exactly how this works on first viewing. What I take away from this is there is no good reason to delete this, if it's broke it should be repaired, if you don't like the look of it and want a "nude" valve cover then it should be relocated which I am guessing should not be too difficult and involves a couple of custom pipes, but definitely no performance to be gained by ripping out a healthy N249.

More of this kind of thing please. Excellent explanation. Thanks.

Glad I came across this. First time owner of a 1.8T (01 Beetle), previous owner attempted "the delete" on a lot of things. Broke the SAI, broke the connectors on the n249 and n75, most emission related hoses broken or rotted. I'll be running a Frankenturbo F21 so I think I'll be keeping the n249 and n75 in place until I can get a proper tune and reliable way to control boost.
