Aww thank you! Love that other single moms such as yourself are making the move too!
Im working on moving as well.
Also a single mom excited to explore Portugal and see if its meant to be for me to stay. So grateful for these videosb

This was incredibly helpful! Thank you!
Thanks for sharing info. The more. You inspire us to pursue a new lifestyle and move to Portugal.
thanks for the great vid!. using this as my planning for my move over.
This was so informative and thank you for putting this out. Moving to Portugal beginning of June. Would love to connect with other POC's there. Sending you all the good vibes from the US!
This is a good video!!! I definitely know what you mean about being able to hear other units because when I was living in PR it was like that too. But this information is valuable. I know I’m taking notes before I move over there.
Thank you, Michael! Just a matter of time before you’ll be embarking on your apartment hunting journey!
Thanks Julie! This really helps!
Thank you so much, this was extremely helpful as I need to find a place in 1 week. I was planning to do the short stays as well to get a feel for each neighbourhood I was interested in.
Excellent content and delivery! New subscriber. ❤️
It sounds great after hearing your advice! because I am going there in may!
Awesome tips!!! Thank you 😊
Hi Julie, Thanks for the informative video. :) It was very helpful. You confirmed what I've been hearing...about the presence of mold since apartments there are not insulated. Unfortunately, I cannot live with that under any circumstances from a health perspective. Did you live in any newer places outside of Lisbon that were insulated and not damp? I know there has to be a new build community somewhere but I have not been able to find any info online yet.
What, no new music set to start off the New Year? lol, seriously, keep the funky grooves coming.
This was an informative segment, and gave me some ideas for when I return This year. My best to you and your son.
Keep inspiring,
M
Lol in the next video for sure. My best to you as well, happy new year!
"I'll show you the usable footage." That part made me laugh out loud!
You are a blessing sister
Thanks much Julie.
another great video!
Thank you!
I found that negotiating the price is hard especially when the apartment is popular. They will ask how much we can offer despite the given price and if someone offer more price than the listing, you will keep on dreaming on about that apartment.
I have heard a lot of talk about the mold issue in Portuguese apartments and homes. The homes are built to keep the places cool in summer, but in winter, mold is a serious issue. As an asthmatic who is very allergic to mold...this is a big issue for me. Need to rethink my plan...
As a video editor, I can assure you, multiple sessions of shooting and editing is typical. And painful. But you got the video done!
Can you recommend the lawyer you used to review your leasing contract, I am planning a move to Portugal officially next year, but will be visiting for two months this year and will like to get some suggestions. This video really helped. Thank you.
Hi Julie,
Thanks for making this great video, it had some useful tips.
I just have one question. You mentioned to have a lawyer go over a contract before signing. Can you recommend a lawyer that I can use? I am not in Portugal and I having a hard time getting a lawyer that can look over my lease contract and possibly help with getting a NIF
Olá! I'm moving next week to Lisboa and been hunting on Idealista for like 2-3 months now, I have to find a one-year contract. I hope to find something convenient for my needs. I lived in London and boy I had those bad neighbors experiences so I totally can relate on your earlier termination of lease.. Thank you for your tips!
Congratulations on the move! Safe travels.
@@BlackMomRainbowLife Thank you!
Good video. At 12:15, Tip 4 you mention getting in touch with an agent. Am I correct you mean agencies such as Century 21 or ReMax? Is there a finder's fee? Do you have a for-fee connection to discuss this and other topics?
Good video, but even though you are not an "expert," as you say, these videos are ver helpful. Please do more them. Is your new apartment better insulated? And less noise? Also how much are you paying for this? thanks
Omg awesome! I’m also a single mom and my child is 6.
How old is your son and I’d get or will he be attending a local public school?
I love your channel.
Hi. Please can you share a link to sites where apartments are on display in Portugal?
I finally arrived to Lisbon yesterday and will start my apartment search, so your tips are just on time! It can feel overwhelming to plan to locate to another country and continent but I feel like Lisbon is calling me...
Same here!!
Hi, we are looking to visit this spring and was wondering if possible to get EU Vaccine Passport if we are in US? Without it, do we have to get a Covid Antigen test everyday in order to go to restaurants and tourist places? Thanks!
Hi Julie,
SO much good information packed into a short video. I actually LOL when you said, “I’m already over this video, and I haven’t even started recording yet.” Hahaha 😂 Hilarious. I have heard a few people say negotiate price~putting that in my back pocket. Until next video. 🤗
Happy New Year, Penny! Lol the ridiculousness didn’t stop with this video. For some reason it took 4 hours to upload to CZcams when it never takes that long. Maybe 30 minutes at most. I was so close to tossing it for good lol. Glad you found it helpful.
@@BlackMomRainbowLife Happy New Year! 🥳 Really glad you didn’t toss it out.
New subscriber here 😊 I’ll be in Lisbon Portugal by September for PhD studies. Any idea where I can get cheap apartments in Lisbon?
Nice…
Great job…did seem a little rushed, but you still provided helpful information for my spring visit…
How to find a house to sit since I don’t know where in Portugal I want to live
I work via ethernet instead of wifi. Do they set up ehternet connections there? I'm sure at additional cost but When finding a long term rental do i have authority to set that connection up?
The lawyer reco was a good tip. How did you find your lawyer being new to the city/country?
I googled law firms, read through their websites, looked at reviews, and emailed firms I had additional questions for.
I am going with idealista they didn’t response by email or call also , hardly if they pick up asking for gruanter . We have residency card. No one help us
So would you say Airbnb are no good???
Have you stopped do videos?
Are there 'apartment hunters' in Portugal (pay locals to find an apartment)?
What can you do to prevent mold from coming in? And I would have to move once there’s mold, how are the owners when you need to leave in that situation and break the lease?
Everybody uses a dehumidifier to prevent mold
Can I have the contact details of your lawyer. Also what are the charges you had to pay for him/her to review the contract?
Great info 😊Could you please provide the name of your lawyer? Thanks
What's the monthly rent ? 🙂
Keep up the great work! , no need to beat yourself up at the beginning of your video for 5mins, your not a pro cameraman or Pro travel expert you have experience of life :-)
I was not beating myself up for 5 minutes. I was sharing about my experience trying to make this video and giving a disclaimer that I am not a relocation expert because I get tons dms from individuals asking for my help with moving to Portugal after they’ve watched one of my videos.
@@BlackMomRainbowLife Ok, It was a positive statement I was making I wanted to hear about your tips. You are great at what your doing!
Hey im looking to moving there with my son just working on income... Looking for apartments
How do you actually cope there?
They don't usually speak English
How do you talk to the people?
Hi! Would you mind sharing with us the name of your lawyer?
