I attended a few trials. Ex was crim defense attorney. On day of closings & during deliberations, state troopers came in full uniform on our dime to sit behind prosecutors… maybe 6 of them. If the jurors were in a quandary as it seemed bc it took 3 days to decide Guilty, I kept thinking had these big, brawny clean cut officers not come in, it would have been hung. One juror even wrote day after deliberations to judge, making all parties return to hear letter, that he felt pushed, persuaded… not o hang. Judge ruled against defendant saying it’s not unusual to have guilt. That jury was also read an Allen charge. They tried hanging despite paying the officers to appear. That said, no way would witnesses, civilians, be barred unless TRO are there for another that has to be, like an attorney

@@andyschoolcompletely and entirely utter BS. If any police officers took payment out of pocket from anyone other than the state; they are in fact doing so illegally & should lose their jobs & pensions immediately. Police officers can not take payment of any kind, including gifts, which is why Proctor said to give his wife a gift. They can’t take money from anyone. I would love to know where and when this alleged to have taken place as it’s 100% illegal to do so. Further, a Judge, any Judge, can sequester his court room at any time & bar or ban any persons from their court rooms. Where you’re getting such falsehoods & illegal tactics from, I would love to know as it’s a direct violation of the ethics & code of conduct not only for police officers, but also any lawyers.

I'm still confused why Higgins jeep had to be in front of the mailbox. I think, did Higgins hide it in order to make John believe he wasn't there so John would come in and check alone. But they want to place it there so it doesn't seem like he was hiding. IDK what the importance of that is.
Additionally, i think some people did not see John come in the house. I think Higgins and Brian guided him downstairs immediately.
As an ER nurse for 20 years, worked in the ER since 1999 i can tell you I've seen car vs pedestrian accidents, dog bites, and people beat up and die from head injuries. John's injuries did not match car vs pedestrian crash. No road rash, no fractures, nothing. Dogs do often bite one limb and they tear or lacerate. Some are deeper than others. And, I don't think John was hit once. I truly believe he was punched or hit in the face a couple of times, fell back struck his head on something hard and created the fracture in the back. The brusing was not typical racoon eyes, general it doesn't involve swelling of the eyes with an injury in the back of the head. It will bruise, not swell. The orbital fractures are from getting punched in the face and same with the swelling.

I believe I know why Higgins' Jeep was such a big deal! He showed major stress indicators each time it came up. It was likely because he lied about stopping to switch cars before going out drinking & about why he stopped at the station after the party. He actually drove his work vehicle to the bars and the party - not his personal vehicle. He didn't want it known because drunk driving in a work vehicle is strictly prohibited.

But honestly, I wish the judge would advise in common English and not Legal Jargon that if you find the plaintiff innocent of not hitting John O'Keefe, it is a NOT guilty and the other charges do not matter. But I do believe there was a lawyer on the jury, so he or she might have explained that. I had to rewatch all of it to remember just how powerful the evidence was for overwhelming reasonable doubt on all charges. If Karen were drunk how did she make it home in 5 minutes perfectly and not get pulled over when cops were everywhere due to the “blizzard”? Paul o keefe said he knew Karen was guilty bc she didn’t really have a reaction when she was at the house with her dad upstairs? She was in a complete state of shock and no doubt she was feeling all the craziness at the scene how Jenn wouldn’t come out of her car ( you can call 911 while helping with cpr!) and how Brian remained in the house and so much more.

The judge needs to take some psychology classes. She has no clue about butting in and problems it causes such as asking her own questions of a witness after an objection during cross examination. Also splitting jury deliberations into small increments of time. The jurors barely got their food in the fridge before they were going home.

I had hopes during this trial people would point out the kind of crap judges and prosecutors pull. So maybe, just maybe public pressure could be put on our justice system to clean it up.
Instead morons just spent the trial laughing. We get the country we deserve. We get the justice system we deserve. And lastly we get the law enforcement we deserve.

@@emmyfrost6433 Because if they admit that they'd have to publicly admit Karen Read is innocent and was framed.
I don't know if you know this but our government loves covering up corruption rather than doing anything about it. It's been that way since long before any of us was alive. It will be that way long after we're all dead and gone.
For many reasons you never see a homicide detective go to prison for anything short of murder. Because they can walk into a prosecutors office and threaten to start writing affidavits about all times they've committed misconduct or seen other detectives commit misconduct. The last thing any DA's office wants is a scandal that jeopardizes past convictions.
Even the homicide detectives that get "prosecuted" get a minor slap on the wrist and go on with their lives like nothing happened.
It will be that way as long as the public keeps buying into all the gaslighting and lies that surround a case like this. Which since people never change means this is just how it's always going to be.
There's always big promises of consequences and justice that just never comes. Even if they have to sacrifice someone like Proctor. Everyone else gets away with it. Because the public has too short of an attention span and too short of a memory to actually hold elected officials accountable.

A talking head, LA public defender, on Court TV actually said that all policemen talk like Proctor privately, that he just never thought that they would get his private phone. I can’t believe it.
The O J trial turned on a dime when a documentary writer threw Mark Furman under the bus. Everyone acted like what he said was extraordinary, and that was at least 30 years ago.

In Mass, in order to have read backs, a lawyer or the state decides if they want to hire a writer or voice stenographer for a particular trial instead of the usual recording machine by FTR (For the Record). My sister is a writer stenographer & has read back to jurors so it is allowed. BTW my sister's friend who is also a writer stenographer was asked to do the KR trial but refused. The reporter that ended up doing the case was a writer stenographer until her back & neck started to have problems then she became a voice writer. She has lots of trial experience & has a great reputation as a reporter. Mass got rid of all the in court stenographers & now has a hard time getting one when they need one. Its much less stressful & faster for them to do depo's. BTW the FTR system, the recordings get transcribed in another country! Not only did Mass take away all the reporters' jobs but they made it almost impossible for them to be hired to transcribe the court recordings by making the requirements too hard. It was controversial and many claimed that a politician was paid off by For the Record company to get all the court work and eliminate competition from the local reporters. Sorry this is so long, just wanted to set the record straight!

Okay...still plagued with frustrating questions, so I'm gonna type 'em here. I legit feel like we're in some ridiculous parallel universe where mind-blowing seems to have been....okay to happen. Couple of big pic questions:
*If Proctor was employed as a Det for the DA's office - I feel like I"m gonna repeat myself here, but how is that ok?? You might as well have a body in Lally's yard, and the DA's office says 'Alrighty...trials starts in a few months!' The ONLY reason this made it to trial was because they had their own lil Partridge Family law enforcement pack ready to go...
*I haven't looked up any cases, but WHEN does a hypothetical hit & run that wasn't witnessed, has no smoking gun trail of antifreeze leading to driver's house. You can't tell me these guys (LE or DA) would feel like prosecuting this if it'd happened 6 doors down. Or whatever.
Okay...,I guess my others were just gonna be rants, so I'll spare you those. :) Greatly enjoyed you guys!
