The best part of this fight is when they launch their attack and the season 1 opening song kicks in. THAT is some serious hype right there
It's hilarious when we learn that Trash simply married into royalty, made a big mess for the Kingdom, and the Queen has to run around the country cleaning up his messes for him. Something about that reveal is just so satisfying.

And thatâs what sucks the most. Naofumi is the only one that can use his legendary weapon to its fullest potential and built an effective party. While the other smucks have only ever relied on the support of the king and stats of there weapons. Donât forget that the parties of the other 3 are just as useless
He dosent "need" them. He could've just escaped with filo. But because of the fact that the "four heroes" need to all be alive he has to hard carry the team and make sure they dont die cause it'll make all the incoming waves harder.
And just think what could happen if the other heroes learn to use the full potential of their weapon having the actual level, they could be practically invencible

I still count several. Naofumi, Rapthalia, Filo. Three heroes, who stood against very powerful opponents in combat. I don't count Melty because she is not much of fighter material. Not the "carry others" material, that is. She pulls her weight, and that's much more than the three "heroes" do, but still.

Ren (the Sword Hero) is the only one of the idiot trio that shows promise in one day becoming an ally worthy of Naofumi. The others are hopeless.

I always liked how Izuki was saying how finally the four heroes united to fight -then cut to Naofumi and his group sitting nearby, like they're roasting marshmallows!

Best episode, HANDS DOWN! Naofumi finally told those tools off! Good man, Hero of the Shield!
Not as much fighting (well, in terms of actual combat anyway) in this episode as I thought there would be. Still, I loved how they handled Naofumi and him just FINALLY chewing these guys out for all their crap. Now if only it stuck...
His reactions throughout the entire episode were pretty organic: more or less relieved when Ren and Itzuki showed up, annoyed when Bow and Spear brushed off how they mistreated him, venting all the anger and frustration that's been building since Ep 1 and calling them out (while being pretty fair and pointing out what they SHOULD have done and acknowledging certain other factors that were involved), and finally setting his justified rage aside to face the battle in front of him and keep his promise to Fitoria.
All in all, it's a decent pay off and some good ol' catharsis given how frustrating it's been watching these idiots thus far (and yes, I know they don't fully learn their lesson here). It looks like we're still a a couple episodes out from the hammer we've really wanted to see falls, so this should tie me over until then.
James West thatâs what I find dumb about the story. This really shouldâve been their turning point but the writers decided to stick to the typical stuff which is why I got bored of the story. It just became Naofumi is the best no one can beat Naofumi heâs always right
@@gundampeacekeeper Yeah, the way they drag their feet in taking the world seriously can be annoying. That said, I give the writers credit for giving each Hero a personality fault that causes that. Motoyasu is dumb, horrendously easy to manipulate, and mostly tries to act like a hero just to pick up girls. Itzuki is egotistical with a sense of "justice" that's much closer to self-righteousness, so he doesn't listen to anyone unless they're feeding his ego. Ren, while he does listen to Naofumi on occasion, is a total loner who isn't good at working with other people.
I know each of them falls from grace coming next season (fingers crossed), but each one stems in some shape or form from their established flaws. So, yes, kinda annoying how dense they can be, but they face punishment for it.

The framing part has to do with the whole kidnapping of melty. I don't think they're talking about what happened with myne/malty
Waifu For Laifu With Ren and Itsuki, they had already began investigating and were suspicious about everything already, and probably somewhat aware. So itâs their reaction is understandable. With the spear idiot however, well, heâs a retarded idiot, what do you expect

The Anime doesn't do this part right imo where they don't emphasize the mistrust between the heroes. Sorry if I don't sound like Im making sense, its just the LN/manga does a better job to show that they're still not buddies.

What bothers me with this scene, is that they never apologized to Naofumi. He did a lot for other people while they tried to take from others and saw no problem with it. With season 2 coming, i hope at least 1 or 2 of them apologize to Naofumi. I hope so.

I give Ren the benefit of the doubt. He seems a lot more competent then the other heroes and even apologized when Naofumi informed him on what he had done.
Plus Naofumi trusted Ren to uncover the secrets of the church. That has to say something I think.

Ren is the most acting his age. A 16 year old dumbass with good intentions who at first thinks they know best, but after realizing aka the Dragon Corpse fiasco he is the only other level headed person outside of Naofumi who had his whole reality shattered much sooner thanks to a Red Head B. Still Ren needs more maturing, but given he is the youngest of the 4 Heroes he is again outside of Naofumi the most adaptable to the changing situations. Also the way he came to the world would without spoiling more be more heroic than the three other heroes. Though Naofumi coming via book reading isn't much, but better than Bow Hero or Spear Heroes which is more comical with a bit of cringe and horror.

Fun fact: The legendary weapons have a certain percentage chance of calling in the best candidate for their weapons. The sheild weapon has a 100% chance of calling the best candidate for it's weapon. The remainder can mostly call the 2nd or 3rd best users

The producers are dragging this battle out way longer than I thought they would, like I thought this week would show the actual battle between the four heroes and the Three Heroes Church, but nahh they just gotta show Naofumi roasting the three idiots. In terms of reaching the destination, this is taking way to damn long for HUMANITY TO BE FINALLY RESTORED. But in terms of enjoying the journey along the way, this is pretty nice to watch.
At this rate, the battle is gonna happen next week, and humanity being restored will happen the week after

Battle would have been over if instead of jumping down into the hole with the others, the Sword and Bow would have taken out all the cult members powering the Pope.
I suppose that wouldn't make for a long drawn out story though. Ren and Itsuki arrive, slaughter the cult members, so the Pope can't cope, and he is then defeated by the sword and bow. They can then explain things to the others and everybody's happy. Not even a chapter there. :P
Question: Why isn't the Filolial Queen talking to any of the other heroes?
He seemed the most likely to be able to salvage things. She's a reset button for the entire group of heroes, among other things. Probably doesn't want to get too attached to people she may have to kill.
@@wind64a39 Isn't she supposed to like help them? Also why would she be a reset button when she literally made the SH pat her in the head? That's not trying to not get attached. Also she's supposed to be OP but she doesn't help with the Waves and when the SH uses the Rage Shield she scolds saying: Don't use the shield. Yet not only is it his best weapon but she isn't telling him or making us known of other substitutes like there's no Love Shield, no Hope Shield.
@@admin.slayerenryu5217 After convincing Naofumi to make an effort to reconcile with the other heroes, she had a moment of weakness. He reminds her of her Shield Hero many years ago. She knows that that if the four Heroes don't work together, then they won't be able to take care of later waves. She doesn't like the idea, but if they remain at odds she will have to kill them. She's had to take care of the waves in other countries, as the Heroes starting within the same one is extremely unusual. The Rage Shield gives immediate power, but has long term drawbacks. She did unlock a new set of Shields for him, but he isn't strong enough to actually use them yet.

Man after the shit they pulled in ep 15 and 16, they had me worried but when Naoufmi told em off I was like " oh thank God, they didn't ruin his character". I still wished they had kept the part where he told Motoyasu he should just die, but I over all prefer this execution over the manga.

...I'm starting to lose my patience with Naofumi. He could've saved the 15 minute lecture for after they beat the pope. He LET him reach full power and got them all unnecessarily trapped in the cathedral because he was too much of a beta to put his hurt feelings aside until the work was done. Naofumi might be the closest thing to a hero compared to the four of them, and maybe not AS stupid as the others. But he's still plenty stupid himself đ

None of that happened in the light novel or the manga. So you can blame the anime directors for that. A lot of things are being changed.
