When pulling a dent, start from the edges.
Quick story: earlier this summer, I tried the bottle opener trick at a party, thinking I was slick and smart, I couldn’t get it to work for a minute, I then pressed a bit harder and I broke the top of the bottle neck sending glass all over the ground, I definitely didn’t feel that smart afterwards lol
You clearly did it wrong by putting too much pressure on the neck of the bottle. I've done that trick multiple times without busting the bottle.

It’s all about the technique, I’ve seen plenty of people screw up using random stuff to open a bottle, mostly a bunch of chewed up lighters.
With a little practice and confidence you can use folded paper as a bottle opener. Pretty much anything that catches the edge of the cap works

The hack for starting a car without keys sounded like a Creepypasta ritual.
cars like that have some wireless keys, when he said "and you wait" he pressed the clutch and tapped the button that starts the engine
I can only start one car without keys and that is the Vauxhall Nova Sri

The old school (non autobody shop) way of pulling out a car dent was to use a toilet plunger like a giant suction cup.
The bowl/cup shaped plungers work best and they come in different sizes. Just remember to clean and spray a little water on the dented area for good contact if needed.
Plus no chance of glue being stuck to your car or damaged paint.

After that he had a Civic Si, but it wasn’t the same, he proceeded to buy two MKII Jetta’s

Man, knowing that works as a bottle opener is really going to save me time when I'm opening my beers while driving across country.
What I found fascinating about the Gatorade in monster windshield thing, was that when the windshield shattered it shattered inward. If it were to shatter due to the buildup of heat inside the car and the cold liquid touching the surface of the windshield it would have shattered outward. Thus I think the video that the guys tested was completely manufactured.
Plus the very obvious outward bulge in the glass in the center, my bet (from experience with creating this for halloween props) is they used a high powered air rifle, I mean you can even hear it being shot BEFORE the glass breaks cause glass breaking like that does not make a loud enough sound to be picked up on a camera sitting that far away if it was a heat reaction XD Plus windshield and door glass on cars have a coating on them to protect them from such chemical reactions. And well just the fact that if such a reaction was possible and dude there took a sip of each one back to back, he'd be on the ground screaming in pain from said reaction going on in his body.
This really works.....it just must be like -20* and you pour HOT liquids on the window 😉
Fun fact. The rear and front windshields don’t shatter. They are laminated glass not tempered. They are structural to the car incase you get in a wreck. - auto body professional

@@FarikoPacer it's usually just the windshield that's laminated. most other windows are tempered. not much of a need to laminate the rear window as it's already safety glass and you generally aren't worried about dangerous shards from the rear. source: I'm not making shit up for Internet clout.

Love you guys!!! BTW, the "dent" trick works #1 on soft surfaces like bumper covers and #2 when they are left in strong, direct sunlight for an hour or two.. They become super soft and pliable so a steady tug from the deepest part of the damage usually will pop back into place.
I wish you retried the glue dent hack, with surface prep first.
I think it works better on plastic panels or anything that isn't metal as metal don't bend as easily.

And they over heated the stick with the torch it stuck to the car and broke off where it was soft

8:00 I use this a bit, and I thought I’d say this for anybody else that has a brain the size of a walnut, like myself: BE GENTLE WITH IT. Glass bottles can and will shatter if you apply too much force. I had to clean up the glass, the drink I spilled on myself, and I even had to clean my car after.
Kinda wish you showed what would happen if you just emptied half the Gatorade bottle, filled it back up with the Monster, and sealed it. If there's ANY reaction, that could potentially explode. It certainly would've been the best way to show if there was a reaction or not. Just to extra bust it.

5:45 - I love the cut, which isn't blatantly obvious. And then they added some echo to the voiceover. I think it's because when you've got a cut, you've got to rebuild the sound from scratch, and so they used a delay filter to make the voice sound more "incidental". They overdid it by a factor of about... like, a lot though.

5:52 There is a version of this that works. It's called a "Pedal Dance" in the industry, and of course every model and year of car uses a different procedure, ad it's way more complicated than shown.
The technique can only be used ONCE, and the car as to be driven to the dealership, as once it's shut of it will not start again even with the correct key until the computer is reset at the dealership. The car is under several restrictions when being transported as well.
You would call in to the manufacturers emergency line to identify yourself (and might have to pay by credit card if your emergency service is expired) . The procedure is normally only given out to technicians recognized by the manufacturer (there's a North America wide data base) , although there are times when the registered owner has been issued the code.

can confirm that the glue stick dent trick does work, though not on the doors/panels, only on the plastic bumpers... prepping the bumper by heating it up also makes this easier

That glue stick trick will most definitely work. Cleaning the surface will help the bond, but that wasn't your problem (the glue was still stuck to the car). It's going to depend on the car material and how many glue sticks you use. The tik tok car looked like it was plastic, Jetta looked metal
That first one, if you want something less messy and easier use a toilet plunger dipped in soapy water. My uncle used to do that in his shop and it kind of blew my mind watching him pull non-creased dents out.

When maple syrup (basically very high concentration sugar suspension) is spread thinly on a hot surface like glass, it cools one side faster than the interior side of the glass. This allows charcoal to impregnate the silicate structure of the glass and appears tin- bro are you still reading this I’m full of shit cmon.

I actually made it point to use a bottle opener as little as humanly possible when I was showed how to open a beer with a lighter literally the first time I ever got drunk when I was 17. It has been extremely fucking easy. Usually I use a butter knife, and I've broken exactly 1 bottle in 7 years and that was on a granite bathroom counter top at a Hilton.

My girlfriend popped my windshield with water. It had a small crack and was parked in the scorching sun, but she was trying to be nice and wash it. The sudden temp change made a small spot into a whole new windshield 🤣
Hot and cold with glass is not a good idea
yeah, a hot day and a cool drink can make that possible.
This is a true story. I have also had a small spider web from a bb turn into total glass shatter overnight just because I left the windows up and pressure changes from inside.
An already cracked windshield is basically on a hair trigger to completely shatter. You can easily turn a small crack into a massive one by just pushing on it. That’s the nature of tempered glass. It’s incredibly strong…until it gets even the slightest crack.
My dad is a big mechanic and car guy, and when I've had to de-ice my windshield he said to NEVER use hot water for this reason. Use a cold bottle of water to break it down or you run this risk of shattering due to the temperature change.
That slime is a fun craft called oobleck. Kids make it at home all the time for school. It's got some really neat properties too, for instance, it bounces like a ball.
Oobleck is made with corn starch/corn flour and water and is a totally different thing. Oobleck changes its physical form between solid and liquid depending on how much force is applied.
Just love that chuckle.

The only time the Hazard button actually helps theives steal a car is if the car is a Vauxhall Nova and you know the simple trick seen on Top gear
Take out the hazard button, pop it back in upside down, bump start and 10 minutes later you’re on the roof in a ditch 😂
