You know my grandma still mails me hot wheels from where she lives as Christmas gift. Now that’s some wholesome gift for a car guy. That’s the best gift for me 😉
I'm finding your grandma telling her you moved and forwarding your future hot wheels to my house. Wholesome denied!
@@wubstepgrandma that's just cold man!
Aw
Grandma love aside. Actually giving hot wheels to a car guy is a nice gift. Good for you still get them and from a loved family member
I want to find your grandma and give her money to continue this tradition
Poor Dean doesn’t know that T-shirt counts as his Christmas bonus
looks like im staying warm for the holidays
@@deanmarkham9094 lol
They make him wear a mask. His job sucks plenty.
Unpaid interns don't get bonuses. Now get back to work dean!
@@daemonsilver3304 that’s the state of California, not necessarily them. And for all we know he’s chosen to do so of his own accord. And lastly, they employ him and are allowed to require him to wear a mask, there is nothing wrong with that.
"Alexa, what time was my dad born?"
That has to be the single funniest thing that ever improv'd it's way out of James brain.
my alexa said at max volume at 4am "its 4:42am"
It turned my Alexa on 😂
I always thought that "universal socket" was garbage, to be honest. Thank you for an unbiased opinion on a product with undeserved hype.
There's a reason you'll never see one of those in a professional's toolbox.
It looked like it would wear out super easy and strip shit
I'd say it is most useful to put in a glove box of a car or in a backpack. A place where you wouldn't bring a full socket set. If used correctly it should work well enough, though they have issues with over torqued or rusted bolts. Universal sockets also surprisingly work well on rounded nuts and bolts.
It's a really thoughtful gift... that you get from someone who doesn't know anything about tools.
Most universal products are going to be less than ideal so it really comes as no surprise.
Hope this series never ends I love it every time
Me love you long time

When James pulled out the Lego kit and said "It's brokennn" my day got 10,000x better LOL
Speaking of the Lego 911:
a) $30 sounds expensive, mine was way cheaper
b) if you want a lego 911 to give to someone, get the 18+ one
@@Danse_Macabre_125 my mom worked for Lego a few years back! I have so many Lego sets I have yet to build. I no longer get that fantastic discount though
@@ShwadeybabeAmazing! How much Lego do you have (money wise)?
@@Danse_Macabre_125 to be honest I am very unsure of the total value. A few sets we have are worth over $3k together but other than that I should probably look into the value of them
@@Danse_Macabre_125 yeah they are like 15$ to 20$ at Walmart. I have the Skyline and the Audi Quattro rally car.
I love how Nolan inspects everything so carefully
He's a detail-oriented man!
Dean: Because I have the one
Nolan: You have many
I need to know which shirts Dean isn't wearing ironically that Nolan thinks he is
You guys came out perfectly for my lunch!!!!
So did those fart sounds they put in the videos. Funny everytime
I'm on lunch too lol
Lunch is unhealthy
As I’m sitting at sonic
Me too lmao
I think a great gift would be a dash cam, assuming the person you're gifting it to doesn't already have one. People know they're a great thing to have but not everyone goes out of their way to get one! Just don't get some cheap one
I got one and its cool but i can’t really hide the wires in my truck
Every one should have one. Can need a pro to install though. 👍

I love how donut handles sponsors, im glad they put effort and im happy for the company as well, i think donut is doing really well
The Pokemon sound at 4:18 triggered me in the best possible way.
I have a universal socket... and the last thing you use them on is good nuts and bolts. They're great for odd stuff, like the hook the previous homeowner put the ceiling that is near impossible to remove. It's one of those "hardly use it, but it comes in handy at random" tools.
The USA made one called the gator grip is pretty good. Knockoffs with loose tolerances are doodoo butts.
@@rhubarbpie2027 I'm pretty sure the Gator Grip one is the original, so I'd hope it would be the best.
@@cirrustate8674 evidently the donut crew tried to use them on car lug nuts, so of course it failed in spectacular fashion 😒😒😒
@@rhubarbpie2027 gator grip also advertised that I worked for lug nuts, so its fair that they used it for an advertised reason.
That’s actually all I’ve ever used it for. Would have been a serious pain to remove by hand because it had like 6” of threads
2:08 I never grow tired of the sound effects. Whoever your juvenile editor is, I thank you.
Several months ago I had a manager who had one of those universal sockets, I worked at a restaurant as a prep cook and he demonstrated using it on a fork. After he brought up using it on a knife handle, I began to wonder what kind of people I was working with everyday. Restaurant kitchens are full of crazy...lol
3:58 “Oh no! Our Porsche! It’s broken!”
I remember that socket from the 90’s when it was called the “gator grip” or something dumb like that lol
I have one in my toolbox for when I can't fit a wrench
They still sell those at Home Depot 😂
Always making my lunch break fun 😂 love this type of video!
Saaaaame. They drop at 11am for me and my lunch is 11:30 so if I don't hop in right at drop time, I'm there shortly after
Fawk im on my lunch break
When James said “This is a fake…” and the decoration fell 😂
Dude I love you guys’ videos 🤟🏼

i still think a safety tool is good to give. maybe not one with a lot of bells and whistles. a simple belt cutter and window breaker should be good. i got my sister a bright neon orange one and helped her mount on the driver side of the cabin. hope she never has to use it
I think they got it all wrong… cause It would definitely be more useful to help other drivers in need for assistance.
@@vmontalvo5591 it was invented in the Netherlands and it’s standard equipment in cars sold there because so many or their car accidents wind up in water because they have so many canals everywhere. Could be used to help others or yourself.
@@craigcampbell1843 the thing about it, like road flares in Japan, they are hard mounted somewhere. So in case of an emergency you know where to find it. But when you get one as a gift, it will just lay somewhere like in a cup holder. And when you hit the water at speed it will probably end up under a seat and you won't be able to find it
@@igorbarbarossa my girlfriend’s mom gave her one and she keeps it in the driver’s side door pocket. It’s secure there and also in reach. Most cars either have a center console or a door pocket. It’s way better than nothing. There’s a reason they’re mandatory in the Netherlands. 🤷♂️

My great aunt that lives in England gave me a cool classic painting of a Rolls Royce for christmas when she came over some years ago, she remembered that I really liked cars when I was a young boy. Im not gonna lie, she said it was very cheap, but I know it came from her heart and its downright one of the best gifts ever for me!
0:14 i have that lego set plus i was playing with it today
I've broken a half dozen of those universal sockets, still getting them as gifts.
Also, obligitory 'Birds need to chill out' request
Dean is a keeper guys ur editing is so freaking good 😍🥶
Nolan 13:10 look like Gordon Ramsay😂😂😂
That universal socket with the metal rods in it. ITS AMAZING for removing stripped bolts
1:01 is the end of the ad.
I have used a grip of phone holders when I did drive away vehicle delivery and Tuff-Tech makes the best one. Instead of a flexible arm that droops under the weight of the phone, it has 2 hinges and a tightening ball socket that actually secure it exactly where you want.
I use sticky tack when I'm in a pinch. Then just plop the phone anywhere I want in the car.
Today's my birthday and having a D-list episode is a pretty good gift, thank you guys for everything you do, i love you James!
Happy birthday bro 🤙
Flappy birdday, escrow
8:49- " i can pretend that's my shifter"
Tesla guys going wait a min we have a thing for that....lolz
I got two of those lego kits last year, 10/10, would do a third
I have 2 also and I want more 😂. I got the Skyline and the Audi rally car.
A universal socket is pretty useful if you throw it in the trunk kit of a car, a backpack, or any other situation where you wouldn't have access to a full set of sockets.
agreed
4:50 when they asked Alexa the question it triggered my Alexa lmao
2:50 from the producers of "I'm Beside Myself: the Story of a Thicc Boi with Plastidip" arrives today: the dude that couldn't use a wrench
The intro to the D-List is my favorite by far. I look forward to the dramatic head bang by James then the immediate interruption lol. Love it.
James’ Alexa joke actually got my Amazon echo to say the time 😂
Haha, nice
mine just did too lmfao
@@oliviawilde5646 wtf is wrong with you.?
10:05 that Pokemon Gold track is awesome. Thank you Donut editors!
I love it when Nolan and James create videos together, I love their vibe
I bought 2 pairs of sparco driving shoes a while back when I bought a sparco fire suit, jegs/sparco gloves, and Simpson race bra.
They are surprisingly comfortable, but not recommended to be worn all day.
That cup holder one would probably be great in my alfa romeo where the cup holder is just below the radio head unit
Always love the editing of these videos.
The Echo Auto is actually better than the guys initially thought. Yes it has Alexa but it also has 6 microphone array that filters ambient noise so you can use it for voice calls in cars that don't have an in house system. It's a better microphone than the system in my wife's BMW, super clear calls and it's like 25.00 now.
Absolutely one of my favorite vids from you guys. Such blunt emotion / honesty! LOL! Thanks for making the uy-tubey part of my day, FULL OF LAUGHS :)
4:40 you have a phone you BOOB 😂😂😂😂😂
One of my EDC items - rescue knife with a window punch and seat belt cutter. Mainly for other motorists.
Best to keep someone in place within the vehicle until help arrives unless there's an immediate hazard, such as fire. Great to have one of these tools if you find yourself submerged in water. (Former paramedic)
Mad respect to Zebra and The Bois. Haven't seen a 30 second sponsor block in years!
i just thought the other day, they should make a new version for this year…YAY THANK YOU
My favorite part of this was watching the set slowly degrade behind them
Y’all are awesome and funny and thank you guys for being you.
I actually got the autozone car washing bucket kit last year for Christmas. Loved it.
Use the bucket for my business still 🤣
Y’all gotta check out the Bugatti watch that Jacob and company just made. It’s got a working 16 cylinder Chiron replica engine inside the face as well as two turbos.. it has an insane amount of jewels and white gold slapped on as well… the coolest, yet ugliest watch I’ve ever seen lol.
imagine getting a lego Volvo 240 as a gift. 3 blocks per set
lol.
Merry Christmas guys!
I have 3 original MOMO:s... Love them! Still sporting one on my OBS Silverado! Love you guys!!!
Should do an up to speed on the IS300
Seriously, do a whole episode on phone mounts. EVERYONE will find that video useful.
thanks for tyhe short ad, very clever
Loved the zebra ad!! Very well done for an advertisement
Keep making the amazing videos, #DLIST
Those universal sockets are a lifesaver!! Mine was crucial in removing severely corroded nuts on a golf cart I was repairing. 10/10
How'd you get your nuts stuck in a golf cart
I love the table Pokemon sound effect!
Best show on CZcams 👌😂 thanks guys
Bloody hell, these are my favorite! Cheers, mates! Keep up these videos forever James! Stay Frosty! 🤘🏻💀🖤
That socket us actually the mvp for when your in a pinch. Literally top or second tier gift.
Im glad that the monolist is getting festive.
i love these kinds of videos so much XD
Day 129 of asking Donut media to do either a Up To Speed or a Wheel house on the oil crisis
I've had the universal socket and it works great, especially for the nuts that have bolts sticking out if the other side without room for a wrench
A universal socket (was given to me as a Christmas present) saved my boyfriend and I, when we went to pick up a set of wheels. (it was a pull it yourself situation)
Didn’t have the lug nut socket and clearance around the lug nuts was basically nonexistent. Took a little effort but we got them off with no scratches! Definitely not something used a lot but very helpful in odd situations lol
Got the autozone detailer bucket when I was a detailer car guy, terrible like that's what I do for a living, now that I don't detail and am still a car guy..... best ever
My grandma buys me a Hess truck every year for Christmas and has since I was 2. I don’t play with them anymore obviously, but regardless they are pretty cool collectors items and means a lot to me.
Thank you for creating my Christmas Gift list this holiday. I can say that aome considerable thpught went into it (just not mine) hehehe
BTW will you guys do Up to Speed or B2B episode on the Chrysler Turbine car? Please 🙇
A Russian brand Trailhead makes a pack of 3 socks with throttle/brake/clutch, that was a cooler idea in my mind)
4:28 it activated my Alexa in my room lmao
Same with my echo show 8
Good and awesome video like all time donut media
Day 217 of asking Donut to bring old B2B back
Sees James reaction to the Lego proceeds to look at the Lego Bronco, GT40, C8, C3, GTR, Supra, and Ferrari F8 Tributo sitting on my entertainment center and smile knowing damn well I've spent over $200 in Lego cars because I have no impulse control
Just worked on the Bronco last night. Add in the Ghostbusters Ecto-1, and a few others and realize you're not alone. 😂🤣
I love my phone mount, it's a magnetic one, u put a small metal thing in ur phone and the car mount is rly small and u can put it anywhere, works great!
I'm dissapointed that in 7:39 James did not make a Fast n Furious reference and said "Ejecto seato cuz"
7:40 I can verify what Nolan's saying from my experience upside down in a car that only in the most specific situations would you need something like that. When I flipped, I just unbuckled my seatbelt, put the car in park (not fun upside down), turned it off, opened up the door, got out, and me and my buddies put it upright (I'll never forget one of my friends ignoring me and going strait to see if the reese's pieces bucket in the backseat was alright). Although, the car in particular was just a little Aveo, and since its so small and light, the roof barely crumpled and the body as a whole was in decent shape for a flipped car. I guess if the car was heavy enough and impacted something else in the right way, the door/doors might be damaged enough it might not open, but the glass would probably be damaged too, so you could just break it. Anyway, there's my dumb teenager experience and knowledge to whoever needed it
I enjoyed reading this, Tyler.
The wheel would be good if you wanted to custom make a sim wheel, but didn't want to blow the bank
The lego was set was just so dope dudeeee
9:08 That's really big of you to admit that about the quality some of the DonutMedia shirts you had/have on the show. Thanks for the honesty, glad you're not like the other CZcamsrs out there, rebranding Hanes, FruitOfTheLoom or Gideon tshirts by slapping a iron-on decal. Then selling it with a 800% to 1,000% markup.
You expect youtubers to buy a t-shirt mill so that they can brand their own clothing? Rebranding t-shirts is common practice in the industry.
Imagine they did a wholesome ending where they gave an employee a project car

Would love an old jdm pos for Christmas
Lol I was actually gifted a POS 93 Buick park ave that I had sold to my uncle who gave it back to me and I daily drove it for two months with a clogged injector, failing tourqe converter and a bunch of wiring issues but the radio worked and it ran-ish so I loved it sold it later on for 500$ which went into getting a 03 GMC Sonoma that I loved with all my heart
The universal socket is really good for putting hooks in
Im dead 💀 with the mk3 jetta, i got one for Christmas about 5 years ago, hated it!
I have a cup holder phone holder kinda like that but instead of a bendy arm it has a fixed arm with button locking joints and it's awesome
Have been oval racing for 2 seasons with a wish momo wheel. Made me track champion and in accidents it didnt even bend or anything. I recommend
Cool! :)
This is a top tier series
I bought that phone holder not long after watching this and I love it! Gotta remove my popsocket everytime tho lol
As someone who flipped a jeep liberty on a blind turn and ended up upside down in the middle of the road. You remember you have a seat belt cutter really fast. You can't just bounce up and down to loosen the tension on the buckle.
The set just falling apart behind them is just great 😆
I had one of those universal sockets and I loved it. It saved a lot of time and annoyance when every single bolt on whatever part/s you're removing or putting on is a different size. I hear a lot of crap about them being shit quality and breaking or stripping bolts but mine never did and was durable as hell. I can't remember what brand it was but it definitely was high quality. I don't even know how I acquired it, it was just there one day. Nearly cried when I couldn't find it one day and never saw it again.
