First, we signal we are about to leave; then, we may say why we need to go; after that, we say 'goodbye' and may wish the person a good day; and finally, before leaving, we may say 'goodbye'...again!!! You must learn a few options to say 'goodbye' in Brazilian Portuguese!!

For guys I use "Valeu" and for girls I always used "Tchau". But I like how cool "Fui" sounds too. But I have never used it since I am afraid of coming off as being rude.
Oi Rafa!! I suggest you use some other sentences before saying 'Fui', then.
For example, 'Foi legal te encontrar, mas tenho que ir porque...Tenha um bom fim de semana! Fuuuui!"

Na frase 'até a próxima', 'até' literalmente significa 'until'...'until next time'.
