Just used this gun today my first time ever painting with a paint gun. This video was my teacher.
This is awesome!!! Thank you!!! I’m a noob with painting and this is my first spray gun! This is comprehensive and well explained!
Didn't have skinny wrench, ground down 6" adjustable wrench in jaw area. Works great and jaws are flat inside. Needle nose vise grips tend to spread and sometimes strains them. Great video!!!
Thanks again dude I was an auto repair tech for 30 years just started getting into small painting projects.
+Joe Dov Nice, painting stuff is more elbow grease and patience than anything else. That is once you get the basics down. cheers
thank you very much I'm a beginner at painting and just picked up one of these guns at harbor freight. this video has helped me greatly.
Great Video!!! You addressed every concern I had and we're very detailed in your explanation in "regular" terms. As a first time user of a hvlp spray gun you have given me the confidence I needed to tackle my painting project without any apprehension.
Blessings to you!
Just bought this gun yesterday, and this vid really helped a lot, thank you very much.
Thank you. I wanted something smaller to use for furniture finishes and this will be it. I now know what my shopping list will be prior to going to harbor freight.
Just bought this gun today Nd it even came with an external regulator. Very helpful video 🤘
I agree that detail cleaning it thoroughly when you 1st get it is mandatory but honestly I just flush mine now... I used to detail clean my guns every time but now I just flushing it with Paint thinner (Mineral spirits) works very well and takes about 3 min.
To flush it after a spraying session I open the guns setting full blast and fill the cup, shake up the gun and spray about 4-6 oz of paint thinner through it, then I clean the cup with a rag soaked in paint thinner and refill the cup with about 4oz of acetone... Spray that through it, pull the needle wipe it down with paint thinner put it back in and spray another 2oz of paint thinner through it.
Then I just wipe the gun down with a rag soaked in paint thinner, and put about 1 oz of thinner into the cup and set it on its stand, I leave it "wet".
Doing this makes the gun last easily about 10-20 spray sessions. And at $9.99 each once I get one that starts to spray poorly or gets "sticky" I part it out, put it in the ultra sonic cleaner it and grab a new one off the shelf, I keep 2-3 "in stock" and just buy them on sale with a 20% off coupon.
I have sprayed about 12-15 gallons through my current gun using only the simple flush method and it still sprays nicely.
Awesome video. Textbook example of how ALL DIY videos should be. Nice work. Thank u.
' just got a gun from Harbor. It included s bad set of minimal direcrions. Iset it up and got unacceptal results. Your vid saved the day. Thanks pal!
Thanks! Just picked one of these up for a boat trailer re-primer and paint : - ) your instructions are much appreciated!
Also a new beginner that's also not willing to purchase a expensive gun for just one planned job. Starting tomorrow morning I'm going to be as my 1st project painting my 36ft Gulf Stream Sun Stream Hi Rise motorhome. I know a big project for a 1st time job! But with your help and others here on Utube I'm pretty sure I can do it! So wish me luck! And thanks for your help!
Outstanding video for anyone starting out. Perfect step by step!
Very useful video for people new to HVLP guns. Thanks man
Possibly the best, most comprehensive CZcams video I have ever seen. Thank you for your attention to detail.
Great video, I appreciate the way you broke down the gun and explain every detail to cleaning.
Very informative, and to the point! Just purchased the same gun. Thanks
Picked up my first HF spray gun and this vid helped a lit. Thanks!
Just bought this spray gun and this video helped a lot thanks man ‼️
.Very nicely done. Just bought this gun and working on learning....your video helped a lot.
Going to get one of these guns soon. Never took one apart. Thanks for the video.
Thanks, just picked up a gun to paint some built ins and wondered how to clean it. Never thought to clean the gun first.
I 'd seen other videos..they only bla bla,bla about their personal life and they forget to do something I.in Between video. But you pretty much explain step by step. Cuz my spray gun was cloth. Thanks to your video. I got the job done !....
Thank you very much for the vid. Just bought this gun today, it’s a big help.
Excellent presentation! You are a superior teacher! Thank you!
Dude thee best video I've seen on this gun. Great job.
Another great video my friend! Thanks for all the hard work you put in. I enjoy the videos and have learned a lot from them.
Thank you sir, brilliant presentation packed with information that goes beyond cleaning!!!
Thanks a lot for this video. I needed someone to tell me how to set up and clean my H.F. HVLP gun.
Great, quick, to-the-point video. Always clear what's going on and you explain well, especially for the inexperienced. Not to mention I like that this is an "every-man's" tool not some five hundred dollar deal the average person isn't using.
Thanks
Thank you for the video and showing how to take apart and put the paint gun back together and paint.
Thank you for one of the few *helpful* videos about this sprayer.
Hey, thanks man. Just picked up this gun today. The tips about the teflon tape and not using the filter are totally awesome. I was wondering why the cup threads were a so huge...it's for the tape...PERFECT! thanks again.
+Bob Stacy Np, they are a very good bang for the buck. GL and thanks for commenting. cheers
Bob Stacy is the
About to paint my car using this gun. Thanks for sharing this information.
Just bought a new gun. That was very helpful.
Best video on using and setting up I have seen yet!
I needed this. My gun came with tools and a 9mm tube wrench that fits inside the body. It looked as though that threaded piece that the nozzle cap threads on to was meant to come off. It does not. And I see he didn't his either. Good info.
Very thorough adjusting and cleaning instructions, thanks.
Another great video. You're my favorite car guy on CZcams
Thank you ever so much for ALL your videos!!! Very thorough, and informative, thanks a million!!! Greetings from a Czech Chick
Nice ! Video very detailed and to the point and explained in very simple terms. Thank you learned a lot. 👍
Thanks for this video. I've wanted to know this for a while.
I read somewhere that you can eliminate the built in air pressure regulator on hvlp guns by taking it out completely and just using a block off plug in its place.
Thanks for the video - clear and straight to the point like all your videos.
Very helpful video!! Thank you so much for taking the time and sharing.
Thank you I just bought that gun haven't used it this helps a lot.
Best video I've seen on this gun, thank you! Just shot Benjamin Moore Advanced, diluted with 10% water and it came out smooth as glass! I also did the mod on the nozzle and bored it out to 2mm.
I took an 11/16 open ended wrench and grounded it to a 19 mm and ground the sides to make it more narrow of a wrench, All I used was a 4-inch angle grinder, took about 15 minutes but it works perfect, It fits the nut on the bottom of the cup for a little extra snug. Great video
Appreciate the time u took doing this video. It is easy to follow, complete, and shows how an added regulator w moisture filter makes this avg air gun both adjustable and paint flow reliable to avoid compressor moisture in the paint. Only thing i would change would be to use a female SWIVEL adapter to the air line. Just makes ANY air tool easier to manage. Thanks again for another detailed video!
Thanks for this video. I will be spraying my car eventually and need all the help I can get. Cheers!
Thank you so much!! I was only half cleaning my sprayer, I needed this video!!
A great little gun for just dollars from Harbor Freight! Very easy to use and setup. Never used one before, attached it to my 55Gal air compressor and used it to spray stucco paint on my garage and it worked perfectly without any problems. I guess you could pay more for a higher quality gun but if your not doing a lot of paining or don't anticipate doing a lot of painting later, why spend the extra money for a better gun when this one works perfect!
Perfect, this is exactly what I needed. Thank you for this video! I just subbed :)
Thank you for this insightful video. You helped me learn a lot in a small amount of time. Bless!
@ 4 mins 23 secs into video, you said use 19-20 mm wrench, untrue unless have specialty wrench which is way thinner. I just purchased one of these today (correct on not having included wrench) BTW behind that nozzle the copper section un-threads and loads of factory lube in in that section. Great video besides what I noticed though upon cleaning mine :)
That helps a lot thank you for making this video!
Excellent tutorial!!👏Very thorough. Thank you 👍
Good review I have the same gun but have never used it .
Now I feel like at least I know what all I need to get started . Thanks !!!
James Jarrell Np, this gun is a very good bang for your buck. GL
Excellent video. Thank you for taking time to make it and post it.!
Excellent detailed information. Thanks for posting 👍
Great video! Just purchased this gun tonight and this was great video to help me get started!!
Dont turn that fluid tip all the way out make a mark on your fluid knob and turn 2-3 turns out
This guy is more detailed! OTHER videos are half ass or.less! This guy answered ALL my questions! Thanks bro! Good job!
Thank you well explained. Great video.
Excellent video- very clear and thorough.
Video was so very helpful and to the point thank you very much!
Perfect. The video I was looking for! Thanks for an informative instructional.
Very well explained, steps 1 thru 10, A to Z.
I have never used a spray gun before. I enjoyed the tear down, cleaning and reassembling. Thank you!!! 💙
answers a lot of my questions... Thank You!!
HF offers this purple HVLP gun in two different part numbers, same price, but one comes with the wrench and one does not. Also, there is assembly lube in the adjustment for the fan spray and built in regulator screw as well.
Great video brother I’m a beginner at this and I was lost without your videos, thanks!!! Question... do u have a video of how to mix the paint ( thinner, hardner, etc) or should I get it from auto body store mixed already??? Thanks!!
Great teacher 1st time painting this weekend Ben
Great video! Very thorough! Thanks for taking the time!!
Very good video. Understandable, clear and succent.
Great video. O have the same gun from HF and no idea how use him now I know
Thanks
Great video, especially for a rookie. Thanks for your time, very helpful. 👍👍🏁🏁
Very thorough! Thank you, you answered so many questions! 🤟
thanks. big help appreciate you taking your time to do this
I just bought that air gun, now I know how to clean it!
Hi. Thanks for the vid. I just used one of these. When I removed the fluid nozzle with the wrench, the nozzle came off along with the brass part, the white o-ring and the black, plastic washer thing. I couldn't just get the nozzle to come off.
Great job, nice video and realistic opinion on a infamous brand like harbor freight.
The front nozzle mount assembly can be removed with an allen wrench. Once the nozzle and tip are removed, look inside the front of the gun and you'll see the key.
What would we do without this guy :D Thanks!!!
Thank you thank you thank you just what this total beginner needed!!
Been painting for about 1 year now. Picked up a couple tips watching your video thanks.
High quality video. Thanks.
Great video, that was really helpful and informative. Now let's see if I can spray well enough :)
Great teaching video. I am a beginner. Just bought my harbor freight paint gun and have used it twice. For cleaning you used lacquer thinner, why not paint thinner or acetone and what is the difference?
this was one hell of a review thanks buddy for such a cool review man
Biggest issue with my gun is the fan pattern itself; it's only about 4" tall. I believe mine is just junk, because I cant imagine this gun being popular if the fan is so small on all of them. I bought the HF Professional model and the fan is perfect and it atomizes/sprays metallics great. Worth the $45.
Good video. It would be nice if the wrench came with it. I just bought that same gun yesterday and have no way to take the nozzle out for proper cleaning.
Nice one, good information!
great video man! keep up the good work
Great video! What pressure would you use for spraying autobourne sealer. Thanks
Really excellent video! Thanks so much!
Just bought one of these guns. Thanks for your video!
+Chad Bean Glad you liked it, thanks.
Thank you! This was so so helpful!
