The best combination of advice: simple, complete, and to the point. I have a new HF purple gun. My first project was to refinish some outdoor furniture. I figured a mistake or so here wouldn’t matter. My wife was out for a few hours and when she returned she was amazed at the new chairs and table ready for summer BBQs. Good gun and great explanation.

@@CostaAzulFishingDanielGarza you don’t want that cup gun buddy… for less then $200 you can get a 5 gallon pal pump spray rig at harbor freight and then you can get a 3’ extension gun… a big metal trowel and cardboard for the edges and go to town! It’s all in the prep work so make sure that you have got the prep done then it’s just a couple hours to spray the whole thing!

Been painting professionally for 15 years now(I restore construction equipment), and...those guns..are the ONLY ones that I use now. I have found, the better the paint...the better the finish. I've done 11 Bobcats(White, black and orange) with one gun. I've even stretched some to 18 projects. My customers love the results. Just make sure to keep the gun clean, especially the front nozzle. make sure to soak it in acetone, then, with a very fine wire...clean the time holes in the center.

    • @gixerman01

Saul Basua best thing to do is run some lacquer thinner thru it pull the air cap. fluid tip and needle and wipe them down with some thinner. Then put it back together and flush again with clean thinner. I usually leave some thinner in my gun and store my air cap in it. This makes sure no residue will set up if you didn’t get it clean. I store mine hanging up and I use them quite often. If yours will not be used very often then you may just want to flush with solvent till it’s empty and store it dry. Thanks for watching.

I used to have one of these guns and I used acetone for cleaning after spraying polyester primer through it. Acetone won't be a problem in the fluid section of this gun. The cup is a plastic that isn't affected by acetone. Everthing else is metal except the needle seal which is teflon. Just put acetone in the cup and run it through the gun.
The gun body is anodized aluminum and that's not affected by acetone so you can wipe the gun down with it if you wish.

@@sonnybee8271 iv used the hf gun with no regulator at the psi coming out of the compressor, and it came out perfect. It also used way more paint then it would at the proper psi. But if you got extra paint to waste then so be it. But if your trying to be as efficient as you can, which a DIYer should want to do, then you should spray at the proper psi. If a panel only requires 2 oz why use 5 oz to get the job done? Or if the guy selling you the paint says 2 oz will be more then enough and you go home with 2 oz but your gun isnt set up right so it blows thru that 2 oz before the job is done.. but like I said if you got paint/money to burn sand that's the only way you know then that's fine. But you doing a disservice to everyone trying to learn by watching this

Jake Clauson I’m buying this gun tomorrow to do my entire truck. What psi do I need to run my gun at and what size compressor do I need? I’ve heard anything from 20 gallon to 60.

Great video with nice explanations. Bought one yesterday, and it was a real piece, only would flow 4 oz of water max and was leaking from the flow needle before I could even use it. Now 50 miles to the nearest harbour freight, just about my luck.

Just don’t buy the small gun for small touch up it comes with a aluminum bowl that won’t stay upwards and the trigger shaft nut leaks bad if you try and tighten it will snap buy a Home Depot Husky better quality

I just bought that exact same kind of airbrushing paint spray gun along with an AVANTI airbrush compressor combo kit, an extra back-up airbrushing spray paint hose, & a two year return plan on all of the stuff at harbor freight in Lafayette Indiana not too far back. These are also my very first ones that I own because I've never done spray painting before even though I've always loved art & have been interested & fasinated in this type of stuff. I have an uncle who used to do automotive body painting on cars & other vehicles & what he told me about this kind of equipment goes in harmony with what you are showing. I appreciate how straight forward & honest this is. Keep it up 🙂👍👍🔫🎨. I just subscribed to your channel & I look forward to seeing more videos & thank you 😊. Go get em 👍👍🔫🎨.
