- Install new headlights and grill and lower grills on an MK5 VW Jetta. Quick review and demo of some simple cosmetic mods on a 2009 Volkswagen Jetta. This includes blacked-out headlight assembly by Perde, tinted side markers, an aftermarket GTI/GLI style upper grill, and GTI/GLI style lower grills. All the parts used here were purchased off on Amazon and the links are provided below:

Access to the bottom headlight assembly bolt. Watched a video from another channel where they took the entire bumper off. Ffff that too much for headlight replacement. This is tons easier thanks for the vid!

It really isn't that hard. Andxdoing so you won't run the risk of damaging the headlights on the way in.

I got headlights that ended up being DOA, I took off the bumper cover to get the headlights off and now I am kicking myself for not even thinking about those damn covers

@npc.guilli I did have the mk5 GTI anyway, just needed the headlights replacing as they kept going cloudy

The front bumper cover is easily removed. Far less chance of damaging anything or scratching up the paint by removing it . Fog light upgrade is easy as well, when pulling this all apart. Upgrading the headlights to a projector style is well worth the money, especially if you do any night driving. And the look is far more "Sporty/European". PS it does look good.

Hello, what quality replacement bulbs are used for the headlights? Bc I’ve read reviews stating the bulbs that come with it burn out quickly.
I used what came with it and haven't had any problems yet.
The bottom grilled are a bit pricey, ended up being able to buy some fog lights for the bumper, and got the grilles for only 15 dollars😂 looks good also

Hey I have a 2009 volkswagen jetta wolfsburg edition and I wanted to know how to attach a license plate to the front. And I do have some other problems with the car that I would like some advice on. And awsome video 👍🏾
The front license plate bracket/holder is just screwed to the upper grill.
They have the brackets of Amazon also
They make a mount that goes into your tow hitch, you can put a plate in it that way and it looks better in my opinion

The emblem was a different size so I have to purchase another one.

It’s been 5 months and they are good. No yellowing or anything. One does let a little condensation inside but it did that from the beginning

Seems very similar to OEM. The high beams need to be adjusted/raised.
Anyone know what the proper badge that is needed to go into the hole of the grille? He says towards the end the stock one is too big and you need a smaller one. Anyone know what one it is? Is it one meant for another car or what?

Purely aesthetic, but the clearer lights improve visibility a tad.

Did you ever put the original logo back on, and if so how.? Cause I bought a grill like this from eBay and my original logo didn’t fit on the new grill.
The stock emblem does not fit. I purchased the smaller oem emblem which fits.
